I just started working on the Attic 24 Cozy Stripe crochet blanket. I bought the pattern/yarns a VERY long time ago and just finally got motivated to start in on it.

I finished my baby boy blanket and also made a matching hat! Modeling the hat and blanket is the doll I decided to purchase from Amazon. The pattern for that blanket called for 3 skeins of each color. I barely used one of each. Since I had plenty left over, I decided to attempt a wavy blanket, which was one of my "too-scared-to-try" patterns. It's coming along well! Great looking blanket. I love the texture of the stitch. Can you remind me what stitch or pattern you used? It looks a bit like c2c but your colors run horizontally.
I've become fixated on having texture in my blankets (except for some reason, I also really like a blanket that is all single crochet stitch--so I guess I am all texture or no texture).

I love more textured blankets too! The stitch is called Shell Stitch. I found it on Pinterest and here is the website it came from: Shell StitchI want to try a c2c too! Here's the blanket not wrapped around the "baby." It measures 33.5 x 33.5

Thanks @jigglypuff. It is amazing how many different ways to combine various basic stitches. I am almost done with a blanket that uses sc, dc, sc, dc, over and over again. Here is an older photo of it. The blanket is now about 70 inches long and I ran out of navy with only 3 rows to go!! I have to make a trip to Hobby Lobby to get the yarn so It may be a few weeks before I am able to finish it.Attachments:

I finished this quilt just in time for the end of National Quilting Month. It's made from denim jeans that I begged and bargained for from my family. The insert squares are all different, mostly fabrics that I thought my grandkids would enjoy seeing. It's going to live at my daughter's house (where 5 of my grandkids live) to be used as a picnic quilt.

I can't find an answer to this question. If I want to do 3 rows of single crochet and then 1 row of double crochet and then repeat that over and over, should I use a half to full size smaller crochet hook for the double crochet rows? I'm thinking it I use the same size hook for the whole blanket, my double crochet rows will be a bit wider than the single crochet rows? But, I would like the height of the two "sections" to be similar (since the double crochet is essentially 3 rows high). Does this make sense?
A while back I was looking at a CAL (I didn't do it--just looking) and I remember that it was instructed to switch hook sizes for different stitches. I was wondering if I should?

Here's my jelly roll race. I'm normally a control freak with projects so this wasn't easy for me to just let things fall where they may, and I hate that there are a couple of places where same fabrics touch, but overall I like it. If I do it again I'll find a jelly roll with no repeats. The front and the back

disneypal and I made a pact we would start our daunting projects this month. I am pleased to report I am two rows in on my sweater. I'm trying not to let it intimidate me. So glad to hear that you have 2 rows done - awesome! I have been out of town, just got back home about 30 min. ago. But thanks to our pact, I will start tomorrow-we won't let a project whip our butts - we can do it!

SweetieBugs I agree that I'd use the same size hook, but it might be worth making up a couple of test swatches - one with the same size hook throughout, one with different sizes - to see which works better for you.

I'm a big fan of the I Love This Cotton. I've got a blanket in progress using that yarn plus a bunch of pot holders. I haven't washed any of those yet. The only thing that has bothered me is that my starting chain (the bottom of the blanket) has gotten quite fuzzy (from rubbing on my lap as I progress through the rows). I'm worried that is a sign that the yarn won't wear too well with even minimal use.Attachments:

I love these Pea projects! KelleeM, that baby & the baby dress are too cute! I recently joined a local "Rocks" group. I'm not sure the real name for this. These groups are in many cities and can be found on Facebook. Painted rocks are hidden in local areas, some simple and some elaborate, and the basic idea is to spread joy and brighten someone's day in a very small way with a painted stone. local rock groupTacoma rocksCharlotte rocksWe have found a few rocks in the past couple of months while out walking and have re-hidden them for others to find. You can keep or re-hide the stones you find. We have only kept one for a long time ...a Star Wars AT-AT walker one. When my son is done thinking it is cool we will re-hide it too. There are themed painting events and meet ups sometimes. So I've been painting rocks to hide.. just because this is a very low key, stress free craft....rocks and paint. Here are a few I've done...

Love these. At the military cemetery where my dad is they don't allow permanent flowers or decorations but there are beds of rocks around the wall where cremated remains are kept. We saw lots of painted rocks there. I'm thinking about having my kids paint some to put there.

We haven't seen your Hygge for a while gillyp , must be time for you to post another picture of it. It will probably be ready for public viewing in a day or so! I want to finish the section of cross stitch I'm on first. I admit it went on the back burner over the weekend as I started my Nuts About squares - which I am loving. Everything has been pretty much on the back burner as I've worked 19 days out of the last 21 and only been able to grab a little time here and there. I still love your colour choices for your ex-Hygee pjaye. It's like looking at a garden. Catona has such a lovely range of colours. Scheepjes is fast becoming my favourite brand I think. So many lovely blankets and quilts been posted! It's an absolute pleasure to come to this thread and see everyone's work. betty, your rocks are so cute! The bunnies are just adorable. I will have a better look in a minute.

How do you find groups like this in other areas? I've attempted a search on Facebook for my area, but nothing's coming up. And searching out Rock groups is too time consuming! LOL! So how does one find out if there is a group like the ones you listed in our own local areas? Any ideas?

I love your rocks! Where do you get them initially? I've been looking for some to paint but they're all rough and jagged. I bought a bag of dark grey 'beach pebbles' at Lowes for $7. Some people in our local group go to a nearby landscaping company that will sell a gallon bucket of large smooth stones for $1. You can select the stones you want from a huge pile in the yard and the business owner donates the $1 per bucket to a local school fundraiser.
