Hi betty, I have a question about this. How do you find groups like this in other areas? I've attempted a search on Facebook for my area, but nothing's coming up. And searching out Rock groups is too time consuming! LOL! So how does one find out if there is a group like the ones you listed in our own local areas? Any ideas? We found a couple rocks and the group name on Facebook was listed on the back of the rocks. There are lots of local groups here because it is quite popular but I look up other cities that we may be visiting on vacation or where friends/family live. Some people join lots of groups and participate all over the place. If you don't see one for your town...Start your own and spread the joy there!

Here's a painting I'm working on. I'm further along than this but I don't have a pic of the whole thing. (I do on my fb page though if you want to look. It's partial pics of the sides.) sorry it's so dark, it's just a cell pic in my painting room! 20x30 watercolor on arches art board.

I was thinking of doing that if I couldn't find a group. It seems like so much fun!

I own a candy store so the subject is very me. What a fun thing! How on earth do you deal with the daily temptation? When I was a child, my grandmother owned a small country store (and lived in the back of the store). We would spend summers and holidays with her and would help out in the store. I've always said that was my best paid job ever....free candy, ice cream and cokes!

Glad to have some more company I'm just about keeping on target, but work is making it tricky. The long Easter weekend will help. What yarn/colours have you gone for?

jennyap I went for the sea colours, I have already made Attic24's coastal ripple blanket and thought they would work well together. I had a look at her video and think it's really helpful. The idea of texture really appealed. It was a hard choice because I liked all the colourways and am keen to use the sunkissed or stone washed yarn in a project at some point.

I love those colours, and very nearly did the same! Funnily enough though one reason I chose not to use them was that my other current WIP is the coast ripple and I thought it would be too much of the same at once. I agree they will work well together. Her videos are great. I made my first square entirely from her video - I think I referred to the written pattern once simply to check a stitch count, but otherwise not at all. My second and third I'm working on simultaneously from the written pattern, doing the same round on each before moving on to the next so I'm in the groove. I think I'll probably stick with this method throughout.

I can't wait to see the Attic24 Hydrangea blanket due out tomorrow 😊 Me too! I quite like those new Stylecraft Special DK colours. Although I've just done two WW orders in the last 2 weeks so no more yarn buying for me for awhile!

It looks like they have the same fibers and weight and call for the same hook size. I have tons of Stylecraft and just can't make myself like it very much. While I love the colors available, the yarn seems to separate into strands and I don't like the look of it. I want a smoother looking yarn.

That said I didn't experience the same isues you did with Stylecraft.

Nuts about Squares week one is done - and in week one no less! Corners are rolling in a bit, but I'm confident blocking (and of course joining) will fix that. Very roughly pinned them out - sizes are nice and consistent. A couple of minor mistakes, but nothing super obvious. I feel like I've learnt a lot already, really glad I decided to join in. Anyone else done yet?
