Thanks lainey. Yes, I saw that one. It's DK though and the pattern wants 4-ply. I wonder whether that would matter?

Thank you! I'm crocheting (can't knit to save my life) but I guess it's the same idea. Off to Google...

JoP Not you - I forgot to say. I remembered everything else, but missed out that small but vital detail.

I'm making slow and steady progress on my shawl. It will be quite a bit wider than this once it has been blocked. Save

Very small beginnings lainey, that is really pretty. I'm wondering how far a skein of this yarn will go doing that pattern? Can you give me just an estimate as to how much of a skein you have used for each 2 rows of individual color and how wide your blanket is? Thanks.

Here's what I'm working on at the moment. My oldest grand daughter graduates from college on the 6th. How'd that happen??? She loves all the hand made things Nana makes. She's a BoHo type of girl. Here's the original I went with with an off white so she can wear it with more things. But, I see myself making at least one in colors. Here's how much I have gotten done so far. Here's a link if anybody wants to do one. Circle Vest

Can you give me just an estimate as to how much of a skein you have used for each 2 rows of individual color and how wide your blanket is? Thanks. It's going to be a lap blanket for me so it's 32 inches wide which gives me a nice amount of overhang. Two rows really hasn't used much yarn, I'm thinking I'll do four repeats of the colours with will give me 136 rows in total. Save

@dknitter, your temperature scarf colors are working together so nicely. I also like your cross stitch designs. The color variation in the teal one is really pretty. I've got tons of cross stitch supplies put away. I'm not sure my eyes are "cross stitch capable" anymore:(

RedSquirrelUK just wondering if you managed to source yarn for your jacket? No, life and work overtook. I spent a long time browsing, hmmming and ahhing over it though, if that counts? Wednesday will probably be my next opportunity to think about it properly.

betty dh and I were at the beach this morning and brought home about a dozen rocks. I showed him your painted rocks and I'm going to try to get my daughter, who is far more talented at painting than I am, to paint with me. Do you use acrylic paints? do you use a sealer on them? I did a quick check on Facebook but can't find any groups near us. I'm going to search again. I'd love to bring the painted rocks back to the same beach we took them from. Late responding to this due to personal stuff... I used regular acrylic paint on most but now I've started using paint pens too. I bought the Uni-posca markers on Amazon for $18 set of 12. LOVE THEM for rocks! I've been using an old bottle of Mod Podge to seal mine. Some people in our group use the spray sealer but if you use Sharpies to write or outline it will make them run.. Start your own group and spread the joy if no groups are near you!

I'm a little irritated with myself today. I have two afghans already going that I need to finish, and my sweater I just can't seem to find the motivation to work on. And my friend came over last night wanting to learn how to crochet. So we went to JoAnn's to pick out some yarn and I saw a yarn I fell in love with. I just had to get it and I justified it saying my cousin is having a baby and it would be perfect for a baby blanket. Now I'm on my second skein of yarn just cruising along and of course ignoring my other projects.

JoP ...quick healing! I hope you're back to crocheting soon! jeremysgirl ...I think we've all been there! I started my hydrangea blanket and then yesterday morning decided I needed to make more wash clothes for dgd so I got 1/3 of the way through one and put it down. I went out to the beach to leave and pick up rocks ( betty ) and while dh was driving saw a post on Facebook for a little nativity set. When we got home I made Mary. This morning I made Joseph and the manger and have dh in his work shop making the crèche. betty ...my dh and I collected some rocks from the beach and dd and I painted them. Yesterday we brought some of them back and collected more. I ended up researching painted rocks and found lots of information and ideas. I bought a sealant that can be brushed on for indoor/outdoor use and it works great. I tried using Sharpies and had smearing issues. I'll look into the paint markers on Amazon...that's probably what I need. Can they be used on top of acrylic paint? I showed dh and dd your rocks and they were amazed...mine are far simpler! Thanks for your help!! ETA: do you used the ultra fine points?

I always say that I have CADD (Crafting Attention Deficient Disorder) That is ok though...there are no rules on the projects we have going on at any given time.

disneypal and KelleeM at least I'm not the only one who is easily distracted. Lol! I was so mad at myself this morning. I kept saying I don't need a new project and I had my goals all set for 2017. And I totally got sidelined by pretty yarn.
