I am guilty of many of the infractions above - not journaling, gaps in my albums with pictures dumped into the pockets, lack of embellishments due to indecision. One of these days I'm going to go back through them one by one...
Even though I've always used CM strap-hinge albums, I always used top-loading Westrim pages so that I could scrap in any chronological order. For my kids' high school albums, I decided to go CM old school, and scrap chronologically right onto the paper pages (gasp!). I used natural color (tan) pages for DS, and Spargo (light natural with flecks) for DD. The pages still have lots of colored paper and embellishments on them, but I'm actually liking the cohesive look of a consistent background color.
I just cannot force myself to do the single little picture with lots of background. Most of my pages have 3 or 4 pictures. I love the beautiful creative pages I see others do (Ashley!), but I can't switch my brain into single picture mode unless its a large portrait.

Another one who starts adhering things without having thought a l/o or card through. Often means several attempts at something. I'm just not very good at visualising what something will look like.

Sometimes I use my good scissors for stuff I shouldn't so they go dull and get adhesive on them. I have a 6 inch stack of unfiled layouts. My albums are currently labelled with post-it notes. When my kids were little I sometimes dressed them to match scrapbook paper that I wanted to use.

I have papers that I fell in love with and can't bear to use! You never know when the perfect photo will magically appear that needs this paper. Or maybe I am afraid to mess up.
i have to scrap from a sketch.

I don't always journal, if I do, it is usually just where and what. I do try to do the date if I am scrapping random pages

I do this too. Sometimes I just have to find a way to make it work, and sometimes I end up with a place that needs to be covered up after I've ripped up whatever I glued down in haste.

Whispers...I like stickers. I also don't worry about things being archival. I like to use ephemera on my layouts.
I like my decorative scissors and still use them occasionally, but not on photos.
I don't always use a lot of embellishments. I mat most of my photos, use a corner rounder and I ink the edges. I seldom put only one photo on a page. I just don't get that.
I just used a double mat for a picture frame and stuck it on the front of a project life album. Shhhh, don't tell.

I don't measure anything, just eyeball it and glue. My lettering isn't always straight or centered (when I am trying to do that.) That's why I do the "crooked on purpose" method for titles.

I almost never journal. I buy paper because it is pretty. I don't use sketches. I never purge.

By chance, are you a Libra??? I am! I totally get the 'better' feeling. Yes!! And it is waaaay too freaky that you knew that! I just had to laugh when I read this, as I thought, " I have that same problem!" ...and I am a Libra too! How weird!

My biggest one is I don't journal enough. I need to go back and do that before I forget everything.
I was at a crop and the lady next to me had these beautiful portraits of her daughter. I was telling her how prety they were, and she started cutting them up into shapes (the originals) and putting them on pages covered with embelishments and glitter. She was a glitter girl - everything on every page had glitter. That made me cringe.

I don't clean up between projects. I just scrap on top of whatever crap is on my desk. I clean it up eventually, just not every time. My scrap time is too precious and infrequent to waste time on cleaning!

I have a jillion started-but-not-finished projects. A couple of weeks ago I actually finished a mini-album called "Why I Scrapbook" that was a project at a scrapbook event I went to in 2007. So now I have a jillion minus 1 to finish.
I hate my handwriting. I will occasionally write something on a page and then I cringe every time I look back at it later.
When I do handwrite anything, I usually try to copy a favorite font but fail miserably.
And it sometimes takes me 4-ev-r to decide what I am going to do on a page, but considerably less time than 4 - ev - r to actually put it together.

I can't start another layout if I haven't finished the one I'm currently working on, so if I'm not happy with a layout, there it sits and nothing gets done until inspiration strikes...and I can spend hours, just moving items back and forth across a page. I also really dislike doing 2 page spreads.

I am terrible at finishing anything.
The only time I scrapbook is when I throw a bunch of stuff into those plastic scrap bins from Micheal's and haul it up north to a friends...and when I come home, the pages stay in those containers. Even though I have about 7 empty binders I just HAD to have because they were SO CUTE.
I hoard and I don't purge, either. I have so much paper and stickers it would make you sick, and yet I can't stop buying it and I don't want to give them up.

I haven't matted a photo in several years.
I have an astronomical amount of supplies I never use and probably never will.
I never journal.

Great thread! One of my biggies is that I have scraplifted myself right out of being creative. I literally cannot start page w/out some sketch or idea book in front of me. I am able to change things up usually and make it my own, but I can almost never not start w/out someone else's idea. It also takes me waaay too long to do a page. Mainly because I am so afraid there is a 'better' sketch or 'better' technique or 'better' embellishment that I have to consider all my options before I will commit to something. Sometimes it takes the fun out of scrapbooking for me and it starts to feel more like a chore. I really need to lighten up. Oh boy! I totally relate tou what you said. Twin souls! I don't use the "rule of thirds" or the "visual triangle!" GASP! I just keep playing with it until I like how it looks and if it falls into "a great design principle," it is truly by accident . Enviado do meu iPad usando Tapatalk Guilty

UGH. I finally have to admit that I have about 150 completed pages that I have not put into books. So much work to seperate them and slip into books. PLUS I need more books.

Hmm, lets see.
I never measure. I eyeball everything. I don't care if things are archival or not I don't plan my pages, I just print out the photos in whatever size I feel like at the moment and just go with it

I rarely give my LO a title. When I do, it's usually because I have an embellishment that will work as one, such as a 3x4 card or a die cut from a kit. I hate it when a LO has some overly trite, cutesy title just for the sake of having a title. I'd rather just focus on journaling and have someone have to read what I've written to figure out the story. (imagine that!)

When I started scrapbooking in the late 90s, I got 8.5x11 paper at M's, so I bought some regular page protectors and a heavy duty 3-ring binder at the office supply store. I've never strayed from it in all these years, except for special albums for vacations or events or PL or whatever. I started with my baby pics back then, and worked chronologically through my life until I got totally current and STILL use black 3-ring binders and office supply store page protectors! I have no idea what will happen with all my albums when I'm gone, especially since we don't have kids, so they're just for me/us anyway! LOVE this thread!!

My feelings about paper are irrational. I buy the paper to use it on my layouts. Obvious, right? But then when it's time to use it I have this feeling that once I cut into it and use it I won't have the paper anymore. I don't want to let go of that pretty paper that I've bought. I get so annoyed with myself when I do that. I have to ask myself what I want more - full sheets of unused paper or completed layouts for my family to enjoy. It's crazy! How did I drift from scrapper to paper collector? My secret is out. I'm so ashamed.

It's embellishments of any kind as well. "Hello. My name is TiffanyTwisted and I'm a scrapbook supply hoarder."

Once you get it on a layout you can show it off.
