Love your bright sunny page, scrapincin ! Hope you all have had a wonderful weekend. I feel like a drunk at the end of a long party, but I definitely got a lot of pages done this weekend. That's a good thing, because I don't see myself getting much time to do any more scrapping until the yard is spuced up and the garden is planted. I feel good because I finally got to some photos that had been sitting in my "To Scrap" box for quite awhile. Still have some pic's in there, but definitely not nearly as many as I had Thursday evening. Still need to create 4 mothers' day cards. Wish you lived closer, kellyr21. If you did I think I would be asking you to make them for me! Taking a break now and hope to get the cards finished this evening so I can take them into town tomorrow to put into the mail. Happy Sunday! What a day I had. Today was our city's "Ride & Stride" event where they block off several main streets and folks can walk, skate, ride bikes and etc. My street is a main path in all this and this year they added a street fair with various kinds of vendors. I was so excited to walk outside and see it all. I just didn't realize the street was right in front of my apt. They had lots and lots of businesses and I even got a couple of beautiful blouses for $8.00 each! My dh and I had so much fun seeing everything. They even had a little petting zoo with South American and small looking goats, sheep, lamas and etc. So neat for the kids. The biggest blessing of the day was the weird weather. When I heard it was to rain today I was hoping it would be delayed or be light. But this morning the sun was out some and smiled on us. Then, in the afternoon a very light drizzle came and stopped fast. Then at 3pm when the event ended... it started raining with thunder and lightening!!!!! We rarely have t&l. So crazy! LOL! I think all of the organizers and residents had their fingers crossed because heavy rains would of been a mess. Thank the Lord! Also, thanks for all the compliments on my cards. I just love them all especially the ones with the pink ribbon bows. LisaDV - How did the ice cream turnout? Sounds yummy! And what a special day for your son or should we call him young man. Congrats! nylene - So happy to see you up and back at your craft room. I know you missed it. But take it easy. scrapincin - My dh is fine and been enjoying his job. Yes, we have been watching some of the playoff games and that Lebron is still amazing! I hope they can win it again this year. @elaynef - Congrats on 50 years of marriage! What an accomplishment and joy! Nice to see ya with us here too. grammadee - Glad your back is feeling better. Hope all the scrappin' helped. Waving hello to ya all and have a nice evening.

Hello ladies - back from camping! Had a great time, and we did not want to come home. grammadee kellyr21 and scrapincin - loving all of your projects, such great layouts and cards. I was able to post two more photos to Wikipedia of National Register of Historic Places I was able to take while we were camping. Would love to be able to start working on pages of all the photos I took, but alas it is off to work I go. (insert a crying sound here) Have a wonderful day ladies.

Good Monday morning. Yes, maribeth , getting back to reality can be accompanied with some sobbing! You back from camping, kellyr21 after the street festival, me after my frantic scrap weekend. This morning I stowed my fresh crop of pages into protectors in albums and cleaned up my scraproom. Now I need to do some cleaning of the rest of the house, then drive into town for groceries and to run a few errands. My back is doing better, but it usually does when I incorporate a lot of different motions into the day--walk some, bend some, sit some, stretch some, stand some, lie down some,... Have already pulled hamburger out of the freezer for supper, because dh will be home by then, so I guess I will need to cook something. (I have been living on frozen meals, eggs & macaroni, and ice cream all weekend) Hoping everyone is feeling well and that you have a great Monday and a wonderful week! ETA: If anyone is writing a script for a sitcom, or perhaps filming for AFHV or something, you should have been watching me--or filming it would be better!--as I rushed around cleaning house, then decided to take out a rather large bag of garbage to the dumpster. It was heavy and unwieldly, and I had to stop several time to readjust the load, once dropping it on the ground so a bunch of scrap scraps fluttered out. I chased them down, put them back into the bag, and then proceded to the dumpster. Lifted the bag up to tip it into the bin, and brushed my glasses right off my face! Didn't know what to do for fear I would knock the glasses into the dumpster, or this would have been even more hilarious (picture a fat little 70 year old dumpster diving!). Anyway, I managed to slowly coax the bag into the dumpster and retrieve the glasses that were teetering on the edge. I am going to town now. And maybe come home and take a nap...

Hi everybody. I was not nearly as productive as grammadee . I did my daily pages for LOAD, which I posted in their own thread, and just one other page. I was too distracted by the social media extravaganza that was iNSD. I did get some free printables and cut files that are very pretty. I also decluttered my magazines and played board games. Here is the page I made about scrapbooking. Friends

Hi, Pokeys! You have all been so busy over the weekend. I am impressed. I did finish my layout finally, but haven't scanned or posted it. I'm getting the itch to pull out a bunch of photos and get to work. @elaynef, congrats on 50 years. We will celebrate ours in December. Your visit sounds like fun. msliz, thanks for the info about your daughters. Did you get involved in NSD? Do you post your layouts on this site? scrapincin, I love your layout. Wow, that boy has grown. That tag is amazing. I love everything about this layout. grammadee, I hope your back is REALLy getting better each day. Take it easy. You have done some cute pages. I haven't been to the gallery, just checked the ones posted to this thread. I'll go look later. I'm glad you didn't lose your glasses in the dumpster!! justjac, doing a LOAD makes me just tired. How do you prepare for that? Are you still teaching? I'm hoping to have more time when school is out. maribeth, that little suitcase is so cute. What will you store in it? Those bows are so pretty on it. I'm glad you had a good time RVing. kellyr21, your "Ride and Stride" day and shopping sounds like fun. You didn't have to go too far, did you. LOL! LisaDV, I'm glad your chickens are doing well. I have no suggestions about the hawks. We have a hawk that periodically gets one of our doves that we feed in the backyard. It makes me mad at him! (I know, he has to eat too.) Would pinwheels or banners waving frighten them away? Well, I'll be back soon. Have a great week and I hope you get time for a lot of scrapping.

@elaynef, what a beautiful photo. Your vacation sounds perfect even with a little rain. Happy 50th Anniversary. scrapincin, beautiful layout. I finally left love on it this morning. That tag is SO cute!! I would buy that. I'm glad you had time to create. The chickens will lay eggs around 6 months. grammadee, also great layouts. I feel like a drunk at the end of a long party I feel that way if I go to sleep after 11pm. Fairly sad and pathetic of me, I know. But there it is. So glad you got so many pages complete. Did you meet your goal? I'm glad your back is better now. Your dumpster diving story made me laugh. Glad I wasn't drinking my tea, I would have spewed. justjac, that page is gorgeous. maribeth, glad you had fun camping. That box is super cute. What will you be storing in it? **I've been trying to keep up in the gallery even if I haven't kept up here in the last couple of days, but am still a few layouts behind. kellyr21, sounds like your festival was very lucky. I'm glad the storm held off until the end of the event. I miss living in a city for things like this. I'm sure you had a wonderful time. I had made that ice cream before. It's quite good. I did churn it in my ice cream maker about 5 minutes too long the other day though. The timer went off, I was doing something else and thought "oh, I can finish, it shouldn't hurt it". It made it a little more like ice milk than ice cream. nylene, how are you feeling now? Glad you had some time and energy to create. DS14's confirmation was very nice. I said I wouldn't cry. Of course, I cried, all while dd11 is giving me the look of dismay. I cry at books and tv shows/movies and get the same look from her. It was so nice to have my whole family together. We thought about it and the last time we were all together and out was in January for dd's children's hospital appointment. It's usually just 2 of us together at a time. Yesterday, we allowed ourselves some down time and worked on getting the wired put on the top of the chicken run. We're 1/2 way through the run now. Today is school and chores. I will be working this week to prep some food for the weekend. Don will be taking the kids to his mom's this weekend to give me a weekend of responsibility free time. Hurray! I still have no idea what I will do. I will definitely work on some banner swaps I signed up for. But I'm like do I want to do household projects, home decor projects, scrapbooking, just relax with a book, or some movies and nice meals or movies and popcorn. What's a girl to do with so many choices?!! So I'm playing it by ear and see what happens. Have a great week everyone!

msliz , thanks for the info about your daughters. Did you get involved in NSD? Do you post your layouts on this site? nylene , I had an early start on NSD, and I had my fun on a rainy Friday and a little more on Saturday morning. I scrap my family, but they really don't like me to put them out on the internet. They're all very private. I still post a page once in awhile (none this weekend,) but I try to respect their wishes by only showing far away faces or hidden faces. I'm really glad you were able to do some scrapping this weekend too! maribeth , this project came out really beautiful too! You said you were going to use the other box for craft storage. Will this one be in your craft room too? LisaDV , I'm so excited for you! Are you cooking for them or for you? Make sure you have some of your favorites in the freezer too!

Good Tuesday evening. Hope you all had a good day. Looking forward to seeing your page, nylene. I mailed 3 mothers' day cards yesterday, but still have dd's here. Will have to remember to photograph it tomorrow. That little drawer is really sweet, maribeth, and those RAK bows were the perfect finishing touch. And LisaDV, bet you are excited about this upcoming weekend. My advice is not plan too much: you want to ENJOY that "me" time! There should be enough room in each day to get some crafting done, do a little reading and relaxing, and whatever you want to do at the time. Don't should on yourself: just go with the flow. Nothing creative going on around here today. Dh was busy in the yard. I worked in the basement. On Friday, I will defrost the freezer while he drives to pick up the beef from the meat cutters'. Before I can defrost, I needed to clear all my mixed media stuff, as well as other flotsam off the top of the freezers. I have been merrily sliding it all from the top of one to the top of the other when I needed to get access, but now they are both cleared off. Next job was to extricate the tubs we use to transport meat from the top shelf, behind the door in the cold room. I told you I was short, right? Ended up toppling them all down, and nearly trapped myself in there with no way to open the door. Told you a filming crew should be following me around! Somehow managed to get out of there and to wash out the tubs. I also organized the recycling stuff so there is room to bring the tubs of meat in and set them beside the freezer. Exciting times! Dh went to a supper meeting in town this evening, but I just relaxed watched some TV

Thank you everyone for your kind words on my little suitcase msliz I will be putting that one in my bedroom as my bedroom is all in blue and white, (my craft room is yellow, black and white). As for what I am going to put in it, not sure yet, but I will surely find something. I like things put away out of sight, so all these little boxes that I am making will be great for putting those little things in that don't really have a place to live. Well camping trip starts tomorrow after work. Today is going to be a hugely busy day, so that is cool it will go fast. LisaDV - ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY - whatever it is you choose to do. Waving high to all - scrapincin , grammadee , nylene , kellyr21 , @elaynef , and justjac

msliz, I was cooking for them, but it turns out all I have to make is chicken sausage and chai seed pudding. DS & DD are both going to make something as well. Super easy, peasy for me. Hurray! I usually have sushi for the first meal of any weekend alone time. As I don't have a taste for anything in particular right now, I'll just figure mine out when I get hungry. Popcorn for dinner/lunch with a movie will probably make it in there. How's the home projects going? Is DD all happy to be home for the summer from college? maribeth, thanks, I will ENJOY! I hope you have fun camping! grammadee, I have always loved the "Don't Should on yourself" that you advise. I do plan to go with the flow. I need to add defrosting the freezers to my to do list too. I Waving hi to everyone today.

... Is DD all happy to be home for the summer from college? Ugh. She's miserable already. She misses her friends, her boyfriend won't get back from his school until the weekend and then he has to spend time with his family instead of her, the beater car we let her use has to go into the shop so she can't drive anywhere and it smells like mice anyway, whine whine whine. I'm ready to send her back to school. She has a job interview next week. PLEASE offer her a job and get her out of my house!

I'm ready to send her back to school. She has a job interview next week. PLEASE offer her a job and get her out of my house! Ahhh.... the joys or reintegrating after a year or so at college! Never do they learn so much about what is WRONG with their home than in grade one (when they learn that the teacher knows more than Mom) and post secondary (when they see all the OTHER ways of doing things!) Guess if she was TOO delighted to be home, you would worry that she is not fitting in enough at college. I found I had to retrain myself when the kids first came home. When they were highschoolers, I felt the need to monitor their actions (curfews, venues, etc). When they were away, I had no real way of knowing where they were or what they were doing at even given time. So I had to learn to trust their judgement and that all my motherly wisdom had been internalized somehow. When they came home, it was hard to maintain that "hands off" attitude... Hope she gets that job, and you can all get back to the "new" normal!

grammadee , I love your Mother's Day card. The see-thru leaves and butterfly are so pretty. I'll go leave love in the gallery. msliz , Oh, how I remember those years of children returning after being away at college. I also remember how miserable I was when I returned after the first year of college to a houseful of younger siblings and no privacy. Those are difficult times, but she will work things out and get comfortable again. I would hate to relive those years! Good luck to YOU! LisaDV , how was your time without your family around. I hope you accomplished some things, but hope more that you just enjoyed yourself. You deserve that. I finally posted my layout. I can't believe it took a month to get back to it. I made a cute card for my friend for her b-day but forgot to photo or scan it. It was a box card. I'll be back later to chat. Waving hello to each of you pokey friends...and those not so pokey too. Thanks, msliz! He's a sweetie. I'm hoping he will know me when they come in June since we were just there in April. scrapincin, you are right, he really looks like his daddy. The flowers I used were some leftovers from what I bought at the Michaels Dollar Spot quite a while ago. The green leaves are Stampin Up from Flourish Thinlits. Thanks for your nice comments here and at Scrapbook.com. Now I need to get moving on stacks of photos I have waiting! We attended the Final Orchestra Concert for Ash and Lys tonight. It's amazing how good those Jr. High musician sound!

Good evening, Ladies! Left love for your page in the Gallery, nylene. Sounds like you are really getting set to do some serious scrapping! LisaDV, have the crew left yet? Hope you have a wonderful personal retreat! I picked up the first batch of pages for dgs's album today, dropped off the last batch for printing, and printed some hockey photos for his brother's bd gift. (I painted a sign several weeks ago, and left room for photos. Finally have it ready to assemble.) Also dropped in to the local greenhouse. Dropped off a large pot for them to set flowers into. This is dh's annual Mothers' Day gift for me. I take the pot in, and in a couple of weeks, like magic, I have a lovely big potted arrangement for the front of the house. While I was there, I also picked up the first of the veggie bedding plants. I normally start collecting those right around Mothers' Day as well: they go into the ground after June 1st. The normal procedure is to put the potatoes and onions sets into the soil the first week in May, but Dh has not yet even worked up the garden for anything. I am assuming that once he does, things will begin to move fast! Slowly getting some other spring work done around here. Yesterday I cleaned off the deck and dh cooked the meat out there last night and tonight. He spread fertilizer on the grass today. Tomorrow I get to defrost the freezers while he is picking up the frozen beef. Lots more steaks in our future! Well, must get the bedding plants into the garage--it still freezes at night around here--and then head for bed.

nylene, what an adorable grandson! and super lovely layout. I will leave love after posting here. Do you skype or facetime if you have iphones? - That is what my sister does with her dgk that live 12 hours away. They do this daily actually. grammadee, Oh, both of your dgs will be so thrilled with their gifts. We'll be getting our plants from the nursery as well, since I never started my seeds because I didn't have a place to put them once I started them. Until last week I still had the trim and doors for upstairs in my dining area and the flooring for the upstairs hall. It's only been there since October, what's the rush, right? How large is your garden? We're hoping for the last weekend in May for planting. I get my bees that weekend as well. I was up at 5am this morning, as I needed to put the patch on my dd for traveling today. Of course, I can rarely go back to sleep after waking anytime after 4. So starting my alone time with the Peas and the family still asleep. DD had a bad day yesterday, and I think it's due to leaving me, but once she's at Grandma's she has the time of her life. Just have to get her there. My first order of business is to actually run errands in town. Not the best way to start my time, but it saves me from doing it on Monday, when the family is home, and I can get a special weekend treat for myself (not sure what yet). But the #1 reason for going is to go to Michaels or Joann's as I need some papers for my banner swaps that I want to work on. Scrapbook shopping definitely makes the trip worthwhile. Also I'll pick up sushi for lunch. Double bonus! Have a wonderful weekend to all! I'm jumping off to get ready for "my" day.

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend. I'm heading out for an early mothers day breakfast with my mom and both my sisters, and then later, on the way home, I'm hitting all the craft stores I can find. That means M's, J's, ACM, 2 HLs, and the better of the few LSSs we have in the state. Just small purchases, coupons and clearance, but I'd like to treat myself a little bit today. It's early here still. LisaDV, I hope you're sleeping late this morning!

msliz that sounds like a wonderful Saturday! LisaDV I hope you are enjoying your "all about me" day, getting all the rest and creativity you need. I slept in this morning. It is raining here, so no outside work today. I might get to finish dgs's sign. Will take it downstairs and start the layers of Mod podge. I guess I could also start putting pages I pulled back into their albums. Not a job I like, but one that has to be done. Happy Saturday, everyone!

Had a great time this morning. My brother showed up too! and we took a group selfie with mom on the restaurant porch.
Then, mom gave me a huge framed painting on canvas that had been a gift from my dad's coworkers years ago when he died. He worked at a middle school, and it was a student painting with no real value, sentimental or other. She said I could give it to my DD to paint over. She'll be thrilled! Then I hit the LSS where they were having a sample sale in the basement, and I got a ton of stuff for $11.
Hobby Lobby is next!
ETA: In all, I ended up spending $55 including tax, and came away with 2 alpha die sets, 1 numbers die set, snowflakes and gingerbread man dies (small,) 1 pack ATG tape, 2 packs of 25 page protectors for 8.5x11, 14 rolls of washi, 3 good sized scrap PP packs, and 6 embellishment packs (brads, charms, stickers, chipboard, metals.)
It was a good day out bargain hunting. Now I need a day to stay home and play!

scrapincin , I am so sorry Bob is dealing with Vertigo? Does this happen often? My ENT did that Epley manuever on me and that really helped. Steve had to do it on me once too. You are still a bit dizzy and don't want to turn your head quickly for 24 hours, but it's so nice not to be so sick. Hugs to both of you. I forgot to tell you that 2 young men from here are participating in the filming of the Ninja Warrior show. Devin was a child I taught in Primary and was one of my favorites. We are very close to his parents and I used to scrap with his twin sisters. We hope he does well. LisaDV , I guess I assumed since you were already cooking, that your family was leaving earlier. I hope the rest of the weekend goes well for you and that you feel rested and refreshed by the time your DH and children arrive back home. BTW, I do Facetime with the CA grandchildren. Sammie called and wanted to talk about Cousin Camp while she is here in June. She had an agenda all drawn up and wanted to run it past me. LOL She is 9 and she is definitely Anj's daughter! Little Miss organization!! msliz , your get together with your mom sounds wonderful. This is the time of year I really miss my mom. She was a special lady! Congrats on the great deals you got on scrap stuff. I am envious of your alpha dies. My friend and I went to the AC Warehouse sale on Friday. We had coupons for 30% off total purchase. I didn't buy a lot, but it was fun looking with her. We will really miss that place when it closes. grammadee , what kind of sign are you making? Maybe I missed reading that above. You are such a wonderful grandmother. I know your grandson will love his album. I know I am forgetting things I meant to comment on. I'm getting really forgetful in my old age! Sending waves and hugs to all the Pokeys! Oh, and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU ALL!

nylene, I'm glad you got to the AC Warehouse sale with your friend. It makes the shopping twice as fun when there's someone there to share your excitement when you find something good. But I don't think any of my friends could've kept up with me today anyway, even if they tried! Must have been all the coffee at breakfast - 3 cups!
