Quiet day for me so far. I got up early and went to the HS track for a walk / jog. Ive been home for two hours and everyone is still asleep!
Yesterday while I was out buying myself gifts (hahaha) DH and a DD did a small house project I'd been wanting help with. They put glass doors on a couple of bookshelves in the living room and put sticky bows on them to make sure I knew it was a gift for me, LOL. Another DD wrote a poem for me, so there might be one more gift from a third DD still coming.
Wishing you all a wonderful day too!

Happy Mother's Day! msliz , hitting all of the craft stores with coupons sounds like an excellent day to me. Sounds like you found lots of goodies at bargain prices. I hope you can find some time to play with it all. They put glass doors on a couple of bookshelves in the living room and put sticky bows on them to make sure I knew it was a gift for me, LOL My family wouldn't even think to put bows on them. They'd just say it. Of course, if it was on my to get done list, I'd be thrilled it was completed. scrapincin , so sorry Bob is sick. I hope he continues to get better and quickly. nylene , Sammie sounds like my type of girl. Love a plan! I just have to remind myself it's not the end of the world if everything doesn't go to plan. Don's made it his mission in life to "lighten me up". He succeeded. Are they just closing AC warehouse temporarily or forever? kellyr21 , I will leave love in the gallery in the next day or two. I oohed and awed over it this morning, but didn't want to try leaving a comment as I had just woke up after 4 hours of sleep and was on my phone. It's so very pretty. I love all of those pp banners. My weekend didn't go according to plan, oh wait, I didn't have a plan! OK. I'm good. I had a rough idea that I wanted to work on my banner swaps, which I did cut out the bases for and for the spring swap even adhered the base pp on. But I received my Clique Kit for May and decided I wanted to play with it. I have killed the kit. I made 7 layouts. I still have quite a bit of the embellishments leftover, but only about 4-5 small pieces of pp. I also watch several movies. Some repeats. It's 4pm on Sunday and the family is on their way home. They left about 10am, but decided to go watch Guardian of the Galaxy 2 again. We just saw it last Sunday. Of course, we all wanted to see it again the next day. I'm sharing a couple of layouts -one from last Thursday and my first layout from Saturday. I also did a companion journaling page in 8.5x11 to go with the last layout. I just didn't have room for my journaling on the page. Double Rainbow Days by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr You Bird Catch by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr The little gold stickers at the top say "most people are content to bird watch" then underneath the photos, "not you, you bird catch". Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

Oh, grammadee, I saw your lovely cards in the gallery, I'll leave love on them later too. I have to clean up a bit before everyone gets home as I spread out on the coffee table and even have a bit on the kitchen table.

For all you sweet pea mom's. I saw this online and wanted to share it with you all. LOL! It's Time to go to School One early morning, a lady went in to wake up her son. "Wake up, son. It's time to go to school!" Son: "But why Mom? I don't want to go." Mom: "Give me two reasons why you don't want to go." Son: "Well, the kids hate me for one, and the teachers hate me, too!" Mom: "Oh, that's no reason to not to go to school. Come on now and get ready." Son: "Give me two reasons why I should go to school." Mom: "Well, for one, you're 52 years old. And for another, you're the Principal!" www.mothersdaycelebration.com

Good evening Pokeys! Hope all of you mom's had a nice Mother's Day! Mine was lovely! Bob is still under the weather so had to postpone the activity with Kellie but I went to Becky's for dinner. They made chicken enchiladas, Spanish rice and refried beans It was really good. Very filling! Oh I forgot Jeremy made cheesecake also!
I am excited now to go back and scrap as Becky and family got me new scrap booking paper and one kit should be perfect for the fishing Derby which is next week. Saturday I will be making cut out fish cookies and decorating them. I think the kids will get a kick out of it. I had to go down to Amish country to get my cookie cutter.
Kelly that little story is so cute I am going to read it to the grands they will love it!
Lisa enjoyed your pages and it does sound like you enjoyed your time alone. But if you are like me I am always glad when everyone comes home.
I have lefty love in the gallery for everything I could see in there. I hope I didn't miss any of your creations. Going to close for now and will be back later.

Glad your Home Alone weekend went well, LisaDV. It's nice to just go with the flow. Good to hear that you have the scrapping bug, scrapincin. Can't wait to see what you do with your new papers. And fish shaped cookies sound fun: it's great to get crafty in the kitchen as well. Hope your dh feels better soon. We had a nice supper with dd & family. Had to cook the steaks indoors because it was raining, but it all worked out. Got some cute shots of mama & boy, so I am happy. This morning I made some birthday cards for my niece's girls whose bd's are next week. Some of you have seen them and commented already. Thanks for the love. The oldest one turns 18 and is turning into a lovely young lady. be wonderful by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Her sister turns 13. Here's a quick visit! Wanted to let everyone know that Bob is doing much better! Only one real dizzy spell today. So still not driving etc. Just in case. Tomorrow night we have recognition at Bobby's school . I can't wait to see how he does. He is such a nice boy and he loves school! Speaking of school Kelly I read that little piece you posted to them and neither one was expecting to hear the last line! Maggie's mouth just dropped open when she heard he was the principal. Too funny! Worked on the patio today just getting things cleaned up from the winter. nylene will be watching the American Ninja Warrior when it starts and will listen for the guy you were talking about. Bobby and I like to watch that show together. I tell you the strength you have to have to do those obstacles is tremendous. There is a guy around Cleveland who has built a training course similar to that one just for kids to gain strength. Going to get off for now as I have already written a book! BBL

Glad your dh is beginning to feel better, scrapincin. Love your cards, kellyr21. I put the original pages I got back from the printer back into their albums today, and got those albums back on the shelf. The printer still has one tub of pages to print. Once they are done, I can finish restoring the rest of my albums to their proper places. Already feeling a lot less cluttered in here. Tomorrow I want to put away some of my other scrappy supplies whose shelves have been blocked by all the stacked albums. When I get the last pages back and pick up the page protectors, I will need some space to assemble dgs's album and complete a few original pages for it. I think if there is room in the album I will include some photo sleeves near the back for him to fill with candids of his grad. And I want to do a title page. After grad, I will put together at least a couple of pages and a last page for the album. Maybe when I clean this room I will find the pack of grad pp I picked up at the retreat. Also finished the sign for his brother today. Dh is trying to figure out how to reverse the bow it has taken on itself. Working on raw wood seems like a good idea, but when it dries, it tends to reshape itself. I am happy with the front of it. hockey sign by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Anyway, that was my Monday. Have a great week!

kellyr21 , that was funny. I read it to my kids too. Your Mom day cards are so beautiful. I just love what you do with bows. scrapincin , glad Bob is doing better. Hopefully he'll just continue to improve with no set backs. Please take a picture of your fish cookies and post here for us all to see. They sound adorable. The kids went fishing at their Grandma's last weekend and left the bluegill on a stringer in the lake. Well, a hungry turtle ate most of their catch. lol. The learned to put them in a bucket after that. grammadee , I love your sign. It's fabulous. DGS is going to love it. Our internet went out yesterday and when it came back on we could get TV (netflix, amazon, hulu) but we still could not access google or any other website from our computers or phones. We could get on the facebook app on our phones. It was very annoying especially with the virus out there right now. You don't think about how much you now rely on the computer for everything - phone numbers, I don't even have a yellow book; any piece of information, just look it up real quick. Today it seems to be working fine. I'm still trying to get over "home alone" time. I stayed up late both nights and got up early both days. I said earlier that if I go to bed after 11 I feel hung over the next day. I didn't let it stop me during the weekend as alone time is too precious to waste. But yesterday I was moving way slower than I should have and I woke up this morning still feeling that hung over feeling. Oh, But I went back to bed at 5:30 this morning and sometimes that makes me feel that way too. Maybe that's why I feel that way today. Guess I should think before I speak write. Of course, I have a list of things to get done today, so I best be getting to them. Wishing everyone a wonderful week.

scrapincin , I'm so glad to hear Bob is on the mend and improving every day! grammadee, that sign is awesome! He's going to love it! LisaDV , I hope you're able to get back into the swing of things easily enough. Are you a coffee drinker? Some days, it's my best friend and my only hope! I have lots of sunshine forecasted for today and the next two days, so I'm going to try to take advantage of it and work on some house projects. No scrapping for me this week, but little by little I'll start packing for my Saturday crop. Have a great day, everyone!

Hi, guys! Thank you for the Birthday wishes. We always celebrate it with Mother's Day so I just about forgot! I spent all day Sunday in bed and most of yesterday afternoon in the Dr. office. I'm loaded up again with inhalers, nasal sprays and antibiotics. I just can't seem to stay well. I had a few days when I was sure I was on the mend. So....I will catch up with all your projects later. I am through with school so the children aren't missing out. We have 2 other teachers out with similar symptoms. It's too bad that breathing is so important!!

Oh, nylene... that's not good! I hope the puffers help you out, and you are feeling better soon! I spent the day organizing things in here, which is not my favorite passtime. I have some space now on my scrap counters but still need to go through my papers & cs and put them away where they belong. Also need to sort my scraps by colour to put into my scrap files. Won't get that done tomorrow: have a day in town planned, including vehicle service and errands for dh, but also printing pic's at WM, dropping into the LSS, making a stop at M's, and supper with justjac. Looking forward to it!

Good Afternoon Pokeys! First of all Prayers for Nylene who is ill again. We miss you Nylene and we are praying for you to feel better.
I installed the new Silhouette software V-4.0 and it is different but you will acclimate to it quickly. A lot of it is really nice like tutorials under Help so you don't have to leave the site to get a refresher or are learning the new tools. Just wanted to let you know. BBL

Happy Wednesday! Not much going on today so far (even though I have several things to do.) LOL! Hope you all are well today. I am working on more cards. These are smaller size A2 cards. I've haven't made very many in this size so it is a challenge to figure out how to add my style to them. hummmmm..... nylene- Sending you lots of hot tea and a hug. I hope you feel better soon. Take it easy. We can hold the fort down here while you rest. Waving hi to you all and have a good one.

Happy Friday everyone! Hope all peas and families are feeling healthy and happy and ready to take on the weekend. In Canada, this is a long weekend, and dd & her little guy will be at the farm for part of it. (Her dh is working this weekend). Hoping that the garden will be dry enough to do some planting!!! Yesterday I got all the copied pages I have into my dgs's album. Still have one more batch to pick up. Also almost finished the cover page. I took a page out of maribeth 's book: I don't have a photo to put on this page yet, so I printed a proof on regular paper to stand in for it. I am thinking of also adding a quote, and will be asking for help for that on another thread. I still need to cut some fillers for the PL protectors I am putting in at the end of the album. The only other scrapping I will be doing for this book is the last page, and I have an idea for that, but haven't started yet. grad book cover page by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And it is STILL too wet to garden, so I worked on sorting all the stuff that has been accumulating on my scrap counters. Found enough scraps that worked together with a photo I had taken of my dd on Mothers' Day and printed this past Wednesday, so instead of putting them away, I glued this page together. It will be the May page in my family calendar for 2018. May 2018 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Hope you are all doing well, just too busy to check in here!
Dd & the little guy arrived at the farm this morning and everyone has been on the run ever since. No scrapping today, but before they got here, I laid out a page on my counter, so hoping to finish that some time in the next week.
Dh was able to work up the garden today, so hoping we will be able to start planting no later than Monday. Supposed to rain again on Wednesday, so need to be ahead of that. I am ready to start any time but dh has to have everything just right first, with everything squared off and measured about 8 times. He needs room between rows to run the garden cultivator when the veggies are growing, and having the rows super straight helps with that as well.
Wishing you all a great weekend.

nylene, so sorry to hear that you haven't fought those germs off yet. Praying for healing. scrapincin, thanks for the silhouette update. I downloaded it this week, took one look at the changes and closed the thing up. I dislike when the change the location of things and you have to relearn. ha. Glad to know that it will be easy to deal with. msliz, did you go to your retreat yesterday? Did you get everything accomplished you hoped to? Most importantly, did you have fun? grammadee, I left love on those gorgeous layouts already. Have fun with your dgs. justjac, I've been leaving love on your layouts from LOAD as well. Hope you are well. maribeth, hope you are off and enjoying your camping trips with lovely weather. kellyr21, Did you get your cards figured out? I like the square cards so much better than the A-2s but I started with A-2s and have 3 shoe boxes full of them. Hope you share them when you finish. It's Sunday and we're leaving for Grand Rapids today. Although both kids were not feeling well yesterday evening, so we will leave later than planned. DS14 worked in the rain 2 days this week and it's been a bit chillier. We were hoping for nice weather and a zoo trip today, but it looks like rain. DD has a neurology follow-up tomorrow. We're taking both vehicles as the kids and I will come back on Tuesday morning. Hope every one has a great start to their week.

msliz , did you go to your retreat yesterday? Did you get everything accomplished you hoped to? Most importantly, did you have fun? Would you believe? She had to cancel it on Friday night when she was told the site ( a school ) was off limits because they'd be spraying the perimeter of the parking lot for ticks. I already signed up for the rescheduled June date, but it's a whole month away. I'm going to have to unpack my bag so I can play this week. And, then, my plans to visit my mom today and work in her yard were cancelled too. She got a better offer, LOL, and she's hangin' with her sister today. Today will be a sort-my-papers day. I've been putting that off. I really hope the neurology appointment is helpful. My DD has tried lots of doctors and lots of drugs, but very little has helped. She's starting with a new neurologist next month. Always hope, I guess. Safe travels!

Good evening Pokeys! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Mine is almost over being I am east of everyone! LOL We had the fishing Derby today but got rained out in the early afternoon. I caught 2 fish and had problems with my rod like the line breaking twice. But we had a great turnout and lots of kids were there! The cookies were a success too! The little ones enjoyed them. Hello Pokeys Boy I had not realized I had not checked in with you lately. I guess I have been busy. Camping is done for the next few weeks anyway. Will be doing a grand daughter trip in mid June and then we will re-evaluate if we will continue through summer or pick back up in the fall. kellyr21 , Kelly, Kelly - LOVE your Christmas page so wonderful to see you post a layout. And as always your cards are very beautiful and feminine. nylene , scrapincin , LisaDV - great projects, you are all getting so much done this month, that is great! Waving hello to msliz and justjac Here is what I worked on last week and Saturday, it is a kit and papers from Countrycraftcreations.com. Most people on the Scrapbookers of Country Craft Creations Facebook group will probably keep and mini album or folio in it but since I do only 12 x 12 pages, I thought I would use it to store extra 4 x 6 photos. Well, I had a big post started yesterday and then managed to delete it. It is a long weekend here in Canada, so DH and I are just driving home from my work retreat. We left home Thursday for Kelowna BC. It was around a 12 hour drive, but the mountains are so beautiful it went pretty fast. We had quite a bit of free time, so I was able to visit 2 LSS. We did a team building event at this place where you climb on rope bridges in trees. We did the "kindercourse" and it was enough. I can't imagine trying the bigger one. We also had a barbecue at a beautiful local park and a nice buffet supper. DH and I and a few of my co-workers and their families took a ride on a steam train. Layouts of all of this will follow at some point. nylene I hope you are feeling better. grammadee good luck with the garden. scrapincin those cookies look amazing. msliz what is a bummer about your crop. LisaDV I hope the zoo worked out. maribeth that caravan is so pretty. You do wonderful work.
