Kathy Griffin - Gory satire of her beheading Trump - ok?

Not okay. Kathy Griffin is an obnoxious, unfunny, irritating twit. She's a female Andy Dick. I just wish her 15 minutes would end already.

And let me add...it's sickening that she's portraying something that Isis does and everybody is horrified by that!!

I used to think that she was funny until her nasty divorce. I think that really changed her.

I usually like Kathy Griffin.

I loved her reality show and her stand up specials that aired on Bravo around that time.

I hate Trump.

It was up prior to her first plastic surgery back in 86.  She's just annoyingly persistent.

I think it will be interesting to see how the media responds to this.

Freedom of expression sure, but the photo is a suggestion all on it's itty bitty own.  Words are not necessary.

It wasn't alright when people hung lynched Obama effigies, and what Kathy Griffin and Tyler Shields have done isn’t right now.

No it isn't 'right' but we do protect peoples right to expression even when we do not like it. Even when it is about the government. That is what our rights are all about. That's what the constitution is all about.  I think it's pretty low. And crass. And vile. Just because it's your *Right* to do something doesn't make it right or make it the right thing to do. She isn't winning any fans with this IMHO. But it is still her constitutional *right* to perform a crass, vile, satire. (and there is NOTHING funny about it) 

If your talking suggestion then i'd be worried if i were Alec Baldwin as it looks more like him than Trump. 

Any feelings toward Trump should not even come into this conversation / thread. Kathy & the photographer are both WRONG. Putting anyone's head in that photo is totally unacceptable to me and should be unacceptable to everyone. Everyone is someone's loved one or friend.

I agree with you but I do think people in general misunderstand the 1st Amendment.  People absolutely have the protected right to express themselves without being penalized by the government.

There's no guarantee they won't be penalized by everyone else.

I rather like this explanation:  "As an American, you have the right to say most anything you want to say without being penalized by the government. As long as you're not inciting crime, spewing out 'fighting words' (srsly), making true threats, or sharing obscenity as defined by the Miller test/child porn, you're pretty much good to go. Hate speech is protected pretty strongly here in the U.S. — the landmark SCOTUS Whitney v. California decision determined that 'to justify suppression of free speech, there must be reasonable ground to fear that serious evil will result if free speech is practiced' and 'there must be reasonable ground to believe that the danger apprehended is imminent.' — so congrats, you can call some random person a 'Nazi cunt' on Twitter."

This is crass and disgusting and just not OK. It wouldn't be OK if it was some random person's face, and it isn't OK with 45's face, much as I loathe the man.

It may well be free speech, but I don't have to "listen" to it.

(I am kind of curious as to if she'll catch some flak about it being akin to a death threat to the President.)
