Is there anyone out there reading who doesn't know what they would "REALLY" want to do if they didn't need to work?
That's me, and I feel kind of lame about it. Apparently I'm very unimaginative.

Run a retirement home for animals. There would be no adoptions, it would be a place for any animals (pet or livestock) to come and live out it's days when it's too old, sick, or injured for the owners to want to keep. If I ever win the lottery this is what I want to set up.

I actually really love my job and would be close to my dream job -- but even closer would be running a large, humanitarian organization.

Anything that involves a creative process. I love to sew and I love scrapping and card making. I really enjoy the part where I have to "think about it" before the actual "making" part starts. I guess what I really would like is to have the time to allow my creative self to bloom. In other words - no interruptions! Yes! No interruptions would be heaven.

I love this quote from Steve Jobs... Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle.

My husband wants to build/run an RV park. I'm trying to convince him a B&B is a better idea!!

Yep. I asked this question and I don't think I can answer it yet!! For three years I've been a caregiver to adults with developmental disabilities. Growing up I always wanted to be a paralegal. I don't know why, I was just set on it. But my question is without boundaries what would I do? Hmmm 🤔

I would love to find some way to get paid for scrapbooking, crafting, and read books all day long! (not for other people, or anything- but to get paid for doing what I want to do, lol!!)
barring that, I think I'd like to have some sort of combination bookstore, antique store, scrapbook/crafting store, and I would do the picking / buying / decorating of said store. I'd let someone else actually do the 'work' of taking care of the business side of things. (and since it's my dream store, it wouldn't matter whether anyone bought anything or not; it would stay open.)
--or volunteer at a community garden, in the library, or work in my dream scrapbook store.

Work with a professional sports team or college team team with their designers in color/logos etc. I interviewed for an intership with the Jazz out of high school. It was between me and one other person. I did the paper in HS and would have gone inot graphic design or Journalism but I didn't stick with it. As an avid sport it would be fun to do football, either college or NFL. Or Baseball.

If I ever win the lottery this is what I want to set up. My sister sorta does this.. She's a vet tech but she will often take a pet as foster pet mom if they need serious rehab. She has a 3legged dog and an iguana missing half of his tail. She LOVES it. My folks had one dog that they adopted from their clinic because the owner gave her up because she couldn't afford the long term care fo her.

Honestly? It wouldn't be a job per se. I'd like to be able to afford to stay home. I'm currently working 2 jobs. If I could stay home I could make sure everyone is taken care of. DH has terminal cancer and will not do anything/go anywhere until I'm there to encourage him to do so. So I feel a lot of guilt that I'm not home to help him with that because he tends to stay in the house. DS has Autism and DH won't do anything with DS unless I'm around. My Dad has had terrible health since the beginning of the year. I had to fly down to Florida to bring him home (snow bird) and he had surgery, is currently in rehab, and I'm working on moving him to assisted living. He has 2 properties that need to be cleaned out and sold. So add that to 'my list'. I'm tired of juggling everything. I'm doing so much I'm not doing anything well. I'm doing enough to survive at this point and there seems to be no end in sight. So if I could have my dream job it would be to quit my 2 jobs so I can be around to take care of everyone the way I want to take care of them. There's not enough of me to go around and everyone's getting shorted and I feel incredibly guilty about it. (((hugs))) You are an amazing woman.

But I'm not doing anything I don't see thousands of others do every two weeks at Dana-Farber. Everyone has their 'hard', I just wish mine was a little easier

right now I would like to work part time at a sb/craft store - probably would go crazy in about 2 weeks, but might be fun seriously am considering asking my company if I can work part time - I need the intellectual interaction, but the 8 to 5 routine is getting a bit much.

If money were no object, I'd love to read to kids all day long. Like at a library story time, except I'd want to curate my own collection of all my favorite childhood books, plus new ones I find.

Mostly just stay at home. I'd volunteer more, and I think I'd be good at party planning services. Anything I can do home based. I'd also love to make scrapbooks to sell, I love making blank ones for family members to just fill in. I've recently made several baby books for family, and I loved their reactions.

My "if I won the lottery and didn't have to work" or "post retirement fun job" is to work for a historical location as a guide or person who dresses up and does stuff. Like there is a living history museum in southeast WI called Old World Wisconsin where they have some small farmsteads and a little village where people are dressed and work as shopkeepers, blacksmiths, farmhands, farm wives, etc. I'd love to be someone who works at a place like that. My cousin worked there every summer when we were younger and I went with her a few times as a volunteer. It was fun dressing up, pulling wool and baking. People who visited were always in a good mood so it was easy to talk about what I was doing and joke with them. My "dream" job would be the car or truck driver for commercials. They're always driving in different locations and different weather conditions. It looks like fun to me. I love to drive.
