I got so freaking irritated by post like that! Just because I care that a product I paid for it is incorrect, does not mean I don't care about a child with brain seizures or starving children or other world problems! Yes, you are right, there are other larger problems in the world. But you know what, this is something that I can take care of. I can't fix world hunger. But I sure as hell can complain and get a defective product replaced!

womp womp.
I for sure didn't do that. At least the post wasn't deleted.
I was nice when I posted. so I am not sure why they turned it off. I mean, I didn't call her any names, or tell her to STFU. I have sympathy for her daughter but I also see where you are coming from. So I guess Ali is now going to turn off commenting when there is civil disagreement? SaveSaveYeah, you were definitely polite in your post.
Giving Ali the benefit of the doubt, I would hope she was trying to prevent more hand slappers... I have gotten the impression in the past that she would prefer they didn't make those posts because it interferes with her ability to give good customer service--she doesn't want to undermine someone who is upset about a product.
BUT... who knows, she is associated with Inked and has associated with Tracey, queen of facebook censorship, as well. It also could've just been so that the post gets hidden quicker (new comments bump it to the top) so more people aren't alerted to the error. Maybe Katie read the simultaneous convo over here and locked it out of concern someone would say something nasty to them.

I do not know about the Facebook group, but in terms of her other "official" social media like the AED IG page it is run by her marketing person from KY (want to say her name is Christie maybe?). I am sure she has a say in it, don't get me wrong. But the posts are done and managed by someone else. So that could also be the situation over there too. I could see them shutting it down until Ali gets up to speed/has a solution/what not.

The posts made “Ali Edwards Inc” may be made by others. Ali Edwards actually commented saying she would look into it, so I’m guessing she probably closed it.

All I can say is I'm over all the mistakes and excuses. It's ridiculous. It IS absolutely ridiculous (or as SC says, rediculous.) There should not be any grammar or spelling mistakes in a company where 99% of their products have words on them. Seriously, hire a competent editor.

I love Ali, but every single year there are lots of things that people are unhappy about, and every year we hear about how hard they are working to make things better...etc. It gets tiring and since Ali is the face of her brand, it does become harder to understand why we hear the same excuses year after year. Most of the products if not all have been selling out for years, at what point do they decided to take a risk and order a ton of stuff? Also, why is production done so close to the release date? Why can't they move this up a few months and get the items in the summer to make sure quality is where they want it to be. It's not like they don't know Christmas is coming. It's just frustrating to hear this year after year...I mean many of us have been doing this close to a decade now?

Spell the dang words right.

Does their autocorrect not work?

I think there are people who care about grammar and there are people who doesn't. . If you PAY for something (especially when you get very little for the cost), it should be correct. They clearly need more proofreaders.

All I can say is I'm over all the mistakes and excuses. It's ridiculous. Meh-xcuses and, lest we forget, blame-shifting. It's always us getting it wrong, not being hip enough or "in the know." #SantaClause One more time with feeling: if your customers don't "get" your speshul spelling, stop spelling it speshul! Or, you know, stop making basic spelling errors. Hire someone (part-time freelance is enough) who has a no bullshit approach and zero tolerance for creative letter-stringing, maybe an English language major who gives a capital F about grammar? Yes! And honestly - if they were misspelling a complicated word, I could almost understand it. But its not. And Ali prides herself on the words & stories her products are used to tell. Spell the dang words right. Dang it, mom, it's storytelling, not story-spelling!

Totally agree with everything you said. Also this: Ok, seriously considering printing this for use in my DD because even though it goes not at all with my chosen aesthetic it appeals greatly to my sense of humour!

ETA: Anyone know why the "save save" keeps appearing at the end of whatever I type!?

Spell the dang words right. I just posted on Instagram and it autocorrected my use of it's vs its. Does their autocorrect not work? I hate to defend them, but... If they typed the text in a normal program like Word or TextEdit or something autocorrect would pick it up and (usually) get it right. But I have learned in my own digital creating that Photoshop and related programs don't have autocorrect or the wavy red line, even if you're typing into a text box, and it's very easy to make mistakes and not spot them on the screen. Sign-writers, who make their living painting pretty words on stuff, are notorious for having terrible spelling and grammar and screwing up apostrophes. (Is sign-writing still a job?) HOWEVER, if your business is making cards with words on them, as someone else pointed out, you should be proofing things properly. Print a card. Look at it with fresh eyes. Show someone who is good at proofreading and knows the rules of apostrophes. Learn some basic grammar, even if you have to ask google every time you don't know for sure. It's not that hard.

One time my principal friend and I were almost run off the road in really bad weather. We tried to use that word as every part of speech. We laughed so hard we forgot about almost getting killed.

I always assumed that sign writers were given the copy that way from the customer. They just create the sign exactly as specified. Maybe so if the customer figures out the error, they'll buy a new sign? I think Inked needs to read the book Eats, Shoots and Leaves.

I think that's part of it.
I also get the feeling that lots of them look at Ali and other craft "celebs" as a real celebrity instead of a business. So they don't think of us as paying customers who deserve what we paid for, but instead as people who should be grateful to get the chance to use their products/learn from them.
I just wish that someone they interact with in their everyday life could turn the tables on them... "oh you paid me to change the oil in your car and I just added some without actually changing it? It's not like it's a brain tumor or something, just be thankful I graced you with my presence and pay your bill." "oh you ordered the fish and I brought the chicken instead? It's not like you're starving, be grateful you have the opportunity to pay to eat in my restaurant." "Oh you wanted me to dye your hair blonde and I dyed it pink? Be grateful you have the ability to go to a salon at all, don't forget to tip!"
First, they need to realize no matter how much they know about Ali et al, they aren't their friends. In fact, she (and other hand slappers) are nothing more than part of the bottom line and a HUGE part of the problem. Why fix your product when people will just excuse fail after fail after fail. I bet if any of these things happened to her IRL she'd be up in arms. It's a slippery slope to play this "it could be worse" game because it could ALWAYS get worse and to say that we should never be upset over not getting what we paid for is horsecrap. SaveSave

I'm going to assume I didn't pay attention to the size they were, if it was even mentioned. After seeing how small they are I really don't understand how anyone came up with $4.99 being reasonable to charge. Oh well, live and learn I suppose.

I tend to get add-ons every month and this is the first I've gotten and been disappointed in. I got all 3 from the kit options and the white stars are a great value for the price IMO, but it makes my shipping slower so now I'll think more before deciding what to get.
