You guys, I am LOVING Ali's stamp week posts and videos. I have been so inspired and worked on an alpha stamped background Tuesday night similar to the one she did on Monday for a page that I had been trying to decide how to put together for awhile. I didn't quite finish the page (the background took awhile) but so far I LOVE IT.
Yesterday I was busy all day so I didn't get to play at all, but tonight I plan to do some stamping! The only thing that is a little frustrating being on the east coast is how late the posts are up. It seems like Ali didn't preplan much for this week which seems weird to me because they didn't announce it much in advance, so why not just put it off for a week and use this week the prep? Usually for things like this the "getting ready/intro" post would be posted at least the day BEFORE the week starts, but it seems like she created that post Monday morning as well. It just seems odd to rush it when there was no real reason it had to be this week. But I am thrilled that she seems to really be putting the effort into the pages rather than just going through the motions and she is creating some really amazing projects (although the TN is not my thing).
I have a stamp organization plan in place and it works well, but it is incomplete because I have not even close to finished cataloging all my stamps. I was planning on sharing stuff about it in my Instagram stories, but I was going to wait until I get settled into my new place (so probably early May) and really have it all set up (right now in our temporary apartment the stamps themselves are a little out of order from how I would typically keep them, but the general plan is still functional). But with it being stamp week and so many people posting on the FB group that they want to organize their stamps, maybe I should share some tonight because my system might work for some people? Thoughts?

Is anyone documenting Day in the Life today? I think I'm going to do it (I always just do an insert in my weekly project life spread when I participate) using the "-ing" words but not post my photos on Instagram because I'm not doing them "all day" but just to document those specific things. I also really wish there was a "reading" card and I am surprised there isn't given that Ali is such a huge reader.

lasteve1 I was coming on to ask the same! I bought the DITL kit when I placed an order a couple weeks ago. I was planning on using it for everyday PL stuff in my album. This kit is so cute and colorful! I think I’ll document my day and add it into my PL album. I didn’t buy the 3x8 album and don’t want to have a separate album for this although it is so cute and I’ll be stalking it waiting to see if it gets marked down. I know that doesn’t make sense lol! It looks like I’ll have to cut down the 3x8 -ing cards though. I’m kind of excited! I haven’t done DITL in years! Regarding stamp week, I barely finished watching the Monday video on alpha stamps. 45mins long!! Was not expecting that and I hate to be watching videos that long. Finished watching it last night and it inspired me too. It was neat to see and watch her decide/try/mix all the different alphas she had. Are her other videos for this week this long? It’ll take me forever to get through them if so!

It’ll take me forever to get through them if so! I am cutting down the 3x8 cards but I think they work perfectly that way. I am going to split them exactly in half and that gives me two 3x4 cards to document each prompt--I will use the top half (with the prompt) to include a square photo and then the bottom half (with the coordinating stripe) to include the journaling.
I think Monday was the longest video so far, but I actually love the long videos! I don't just sit and watch them, I typically put them on the background while I work on my project (so I stamped a background using the techniques from Monday's video while watching Tuesday's video). Although, with the timing of the posts, I watched Wednesday's video this morning while doing my hair & make-up for work! lol. I also watch them while cooking sometimes. Because I love having stuff like that on in the background while doing other things, I love longer videos so I don't run out of things to watch. But I totally get how some people want quick and to the point.

lasteve1 I also love the long videos, too! I also will watch them while getting ready or doing the dishes. But sometimes I watch videos while I shower, lol. I have a little corner shelf that doesn’t get splashed too much and a waterproof iPhone 10 anyway. All about that multitasking, haha.

Y’all are so funny! I’m terrible at this type of multitasking! I wish I had this superpower! Videos + working/doing something else at the same time....I just can’t! I’ve been “watching” Storytelling With Project Life while working on my album....I find that I’m going back to listen again because I missed something and wasn’t really paying attention. And there’s parts of those video lessons where she’s not even showing something, it just a phrase on the screen.....maybe I can watch her other stamp week videos while I’m on the treadmill 😊

I was planning to play along today - it’s a full day of stuff going on that’s very representative of this phase of life we’re in - but I was up for three hours doing all the things before I checked IG and Ali’s post reminded me. I hadn’t taken any pics during the morning rush with 3/4 of my kids. Blah. Trying to think of how I can take retroactive pics later to fill in the photos. I stumbled across my AE time roller stamp that I’ve never used and forgot I had, so I’m planning to document based on time increments. This will be added as inserts to PL.

Or if you are doing the -ing verbs, you might not even need those photos from the morning, depending on what you take later today.

I’m loving the Stamping week videos. They are really inspiring me to do some different things with my stamps. So happy that Ali is doing this series and I also bought a couple of stamps from the sale so I’m sure that makes Ali happy too! Lol!

I have been stamping ‘along’ this week. ( actually I Saturday started stamping Saturday night when I started my March Layout ) And I plan to watch the videos tonight & ‘play’ along. Tonight is the night I have more time.

I’m curious what stamps everyone is picking up and how you are inspired to use them. I keep looking, but haven’t pulled the trigger on any.

I didn't pick up any of the sale stamps in Ali's shop because I already have all the ones I have any interest in... might be a sign I own too many stamps... I did pick up the new huge number stamps from studio calico. I was really on the fence... they charge $27.99 for 6x8 stamps now!? That is insane. But I really love it and I loved the layout Ali did using her large number stamps (the rainbow one about Anna) so I bit the bullet. I hope I don't regret it once I have it in my hands! I think I'm going to scraplift that layout for my daughter. I didn't end up documenting DITL. I really like the "-ing" prompt idea but I just didn't feel inspired yesterday and I couldn't remember all the words I was supposed to be documenting which made it difficult. I'm also working on a "themed" spread in project life this week, and the stamping week, so I think my creativity brain was just full. I might try it again next week because I do like having DITL documented once in awhile... but I also might just save it since WITL is coming up. I do really like the DITL kit though and am excited to break into it... decisions... lol

lasteve1 I just finished watching the numbers video. I LOVE the rainbow numbers she stamped too!! I really want to make a layout like that! $27.99 for a large number stamp set IS insane but to me, better to get it if it’s something you really want and don’t risk it being sold out and kicking yourself for missing it. So yesterday I started watching the prompts video, fell asleep and then finished watching it last night. 35 mins! Oh my gosh lol! Seems like an eternity to me! This morning woke up early and just watched the numbers video. 25 mins. Seemed to go by faster! I really, really want to scraplift that Anna layout! Ali is making me notice her inks. I’ve never paid much attention to them before. Love the colors and they look vibrant. Anyone use them? I think I might need a few. Do you like them?

They arrived yesterday. Journey, Listen, Seasons and the small Foodie words. I’m wanting to use the Journey set in my “me” album. I like a lot of the sentiments in it. I got the Listen set because I’m a music lover and would like to tell stories about that. The Seasons stamp I was on the fence about but it just so happens that Ali used it in her numbers video on her Anna layout. That was great inspiration for me. I feel like I’ve got some ideas for that stamp now. Nothing planned for the foodie stamp.

I picked up Seasons and Pieces, along with the $5 You for subscribing m2m. I also got the 31 Things classroom kit for the Alpha stamp set (3x4), which I totally didn’t need. I did get the phrase roller stamp too, and I decided to try one of her ink pads (Olympia). I am sure I will regret the ink pad purchase, as I am super picky about ink pads, but that color was missing from my collection.

I love her inks, they are pretty much the only inks I use! I really like the pigment inks over the dye inks, even though they take a little longer to dry on the page. I first tried out studio calico's pigment inks and really liked those, but I started getting Ali's and they are better somehow. So now I am slowly collecting hers and just using the SC ones for colors I don't have in Ali's. I don't use any of my older dye inks or other brands any longer, except of course for black staz-on.

I have the whole collection. I think they are great for pigment inks. The ink pads are very bouncy and spongy (much like a Tsukineko teardrop chalk ink if you’ve used those) and some are a little wetter than I’d prefer, but they have all been great quality. I tend to either reach for them and my Versamark black the most. I don’t use my dye inks much anymore unless I’m super concerned with smudging or dry time.

Scrapbook.com has a great range of hybrid inks they released a couple of years ago. They have a set of inks per colour family. Postal Blue might do the trick for you. It is darker than shown in the images on scrapbook.com and their video (overblown with white light). I own it and it looks really close to Ultra Blue IRL although I no longer have my Ultra Blue pad. I like the scrapbook.com hybrid inks better than the ABM inks, by the way. If necessary, I can stamp some images with Postal Blue for you tomorrow and snap a realistic photo of the results.

Does anyone have A Beautiful Mess - Ultra Blue? I've been trying to find another brand with a similar color but so far struck out . I never bought ABM or Color Theory Inks cos I seem to remember reviews that their dye inks weren't great. But KP uses this one in a lot of her layouts and I really like it. I think this one might be close I agree that Memento Bahama Blue is pretty darn close. Those are my favorite dye inks. They are crisp and vibrant.

The color range is lovely and I like that they are a hybrid ink. Haven't pulled the trigger yet. Have to sit and think on it some more.
