New story kit themes are up. I'm sticking it out until November then I'm canceling. Evening is one I would be interested in for next year, the others not so much. July 2020 // Roam August 2020 // Transitions September 2020 // Morning October 2020 // Cozy November 2020 // Together December 2020 // Hope January 2021 // Action February 2021 // Connect March 2021 // Bloom April 2021 // Evening I like Action and may also get Connect. Not interested in the others. I have to say that I am already sooo over Cozy. It’s about as overused as the color pink. I don’t know about scrapping but I sure as hell hope to end 2020 with HOPE!

And that’s still no guarantee I’d bite.

old, thinner line style new thicker line style Her recent word art looks to me like someone who hasn’t figured out how to regulate the pressure of her Apple Pencil yet. I have the same issues of random thick and thin lines when I do lettering because I haven’t practiced enough in Procreate yet. I feel like a lot of her old word art was done with a Sharpie which was more regular. Idk, I might be wrong. I don’t follow her any more, but I have not been enjoying the thick and thin messy writing in the AE DT projects showing up in the IG feed. I’d rather write my own messy handwriting cards.

This is exactly right about sharpie vs. Apple Pencil, she’s said that she switched. But, I think the width changes with the Apple Pencil are intentional. Definitely not for everyone, but I think that’s the style she’s going for.

Ali is having a sale on her story classes now. I've bought some of her stamps and kits before, but only during sales so I never got the class content. What were some of your favorites?

If they were $5, I’d probably buy a couple because I always enjoy her video content and process sharing. But $10 is ridiculous imo.
I guess there’s a pdf planning page included, but don’t get how useful that would be without any products.

I’ve bought a few Story kits in the past during the sales but haven’t done anything with them.😬 I bought the corresponding class content in hopes it will motivate me to use them. 🤷🏻♀️

I think the idea is that people who picked up the kits in past stories revisited sales can now buy the class to go with it. I think people were annoyed before because they wanted the classes to go with those kits but the classes were only being sold in bundles of 5.

I understand people wanting to pick up classes for kits they purchased on sale but this is spensive. $14.99 for kit on sale + $10 for the class = $25. They’d be better off just grabbing kits they like on the month-to-month. Same price. I’m sitting with mom on this one. Not worth it.

I subscribed to the Story kit for years and I do think the classes are really good. However, when I saw the sale on Story Classes, which is what the digital subscription is now called, I assumed it would include the digitals. I think it's a bit misleading, and 10$ is too much just for the class content. Shame because I would totally have bought a few.

I didn’t consider purchasing any because I already own them all (I know 😬) but thought with the digitals that would be a good deal. But I do know that people had asked for the classes to be available to match kits they bought at sales, so idk. I really love the class content but I don’t think I’d pay $10 just for that.

Yes Ali just confirmed they are only the classes no physical or digital items included. She does show what is included in her insta-Stories - multiple videos, some have guest designers as well.

I have them all. Each class includes the intro video with story ideas. These range from 20 minutes to an hour depending on the topic & a pdf handout with these ideas listed out as well. Then there are process videos from Ali for at least 4 projects. Occasionally there is an additional project, but it's rare. Then there are usually 2 guest designers with 2 projects each, but I think there are a few classes that only had one guest designer. Some of the classes are definitely better than others but they all include this minimum content.

Did anyone buy anything at Ali's digi sale? I feel like I should (with DD in mind) but am not inspired yet.

I didn't get anything from the digital sale. I just have SUCH A HARD TIME pushing myself to buy digitals. I use digitals/hybrid scrapbook pretty frequently, but I have so many digitals from my story kit sub, FYC & other freebies I've collected through the years that I just have a hard time pulling the trigger with the price tag on them. I also am pretty good with photoshop/an apple pencil, so I always tell myself, I can reproduce that! Of course, I don't have the time to make all the digitals I want and they're not the same, but I just can't get past the price tag on them. It's just a hang up I have... idk what it is.
I would love to have the SBTM kits digitally, but they are just so expensive... their original price is more than the physical version. And I couldn't pick just one... I want them all (well, some I like more than others, but I want most of them). I know lots of people are already annoyed with her prices, but I just wish she would increase the price of the physical products by a couple dollars and throw in the digital. I miss the days when she threw in the digital for free with WITL, etc. Or if she just significantly reduced the price... like $2/monthly kit or something. I know it costs her time to create the designs, but she's making these in physical products so she has to design them anyways... the digitals are pure profit. I don't blame her I guess, people are willing to pay for it, it's just my own personal hang up...

Why in the world didn’t they do the kit sale BEFORE the making classes available for sale?

During the recent Stories Revisited sale, didn’t they increase the prices midway through? How do these prices compare?
I thought I had put the October sbtm Kit it my cart at $9.99, but then it increased, so I dumped it. But now it’s back at 9.99.
