Pythagorus quote aside, I like this collection. However, I'm a bit bummed I bought the travel collection before seeing this one because I kind of like this one better. I love the cards and the butterflies and the sunshines and the felt pieces.

The Pythagorus “quote” made it on the stamp sets even. Don’t miss it, sleepingbooty 🤣 *cries in ancient Greek*

The fabric circles and pleather sunshines from Great Outdoors are cute. I don't think I'll be buying anything but if they're still available next time I order from AE, I might pick them up.

I really like those suns but they are PRICEY. Those and the shipping tags would make some really cohesive embellishment/journaling options for a mini book or a spread, so that’s on my to-buy list if I can get over the price tag.

Is there a typo on the “stay positive” pleather sun? Or is it photographed weird - it doesn’t look like an ‘e’ at the end of positive.

I actually liked a lot of the pieces so picked up a few of the "a la cart" items. My husband won't be happy, but meh...what can you do

I'm going to say this now but I want to hold myself accountable. I will not be buying anything from DD this year - I have more than enough to last for several DDs. So I have to shop my stash and that includes all designers.

I *think* it is spelt correctly but the ink hasn't adhered well at all to the curve on the top of the 'e' I think so too based on the 'e' in one of the other sunshine pleather embellies that spells 'shine'. I guess we'll have to wait and see whether it's positivu (that would be a negativu déjà-vu) or positive. But so far, the bottom of the 'e' letter print seems to match the "full" 'e' in 'shine'.

I hope you can stay strong and use up some of your product this year so you can make space for new stuff in the future.

I’m such a sucker for Christmas though.

I bought the kit and both sets of stamps. My boyfriend and I spend a lot of time outside, and we are tent campers, so it works. I was thrilled to see an outdoor set with tents instead of campers! That never happens.

So I lost my job on Thursday, and in between updating my resume and sending out applications, I am spending time organizing my stuff and seeing what I can get rid of.
I have a couple AE albums that I might try to sell, without the page protectors. How much should I try to charge for something like the DD album from several years ago with the diagonal red words saying "December Moments" "December Life" "December Stories"?

mich5481 I am sorry for your job loss! I don’t know about pricing. Are you in the AE BTS groups on Facebook? I’d try the search bar and see what comes up. I have not looked at them in a long while, but it seemed people were frequently seeking out specific items like that frequently.

mich5481 I'm so sorry to hear about your job. That's really stressful. Good luck and I hope you find a new and better gig soon. My DH got laid off a couple of weeks ago and it's been rough. I hope you get lots of $$$ for your AE stuff.

Thank you honeypea and scrappyemI'm still in a bit of shock, but it will be ok - it really wasn't that great a fit the more I think about it.

I'd say $20ish for albums that are no longer available. They're selling for $27 with page protectors on Ali's website. I'd definitely be interested in the DD album you're describing, I have a previous year in that album and love it! I'm not on Facebook so I can't help with any ideas for groups on there. I'm so sorry to hear about your job loss, that's so hard, sending good vibes your way!

Is anyone enrolling in The Magic of Moments photography class? I really want to improve my photography skills so I am considering it. Any thoughts?

Is anyone enrolling in The Magic of Moments photography class? I really want to improve my photography skills so I am considering it. Any thoughts? I took a Maggie Holmes class back in 2010 that taught you about manual mode in photography and it's been invaluable to me. Taking photos is a part of who I am and I think just by going to different photographer's blogs and reading books has helped develop my own "voice". I love Elizabeth Messina and her book "The Luminous Portrait" is at the top of my list for reading/re-reading if I'm feeling stuck, but I think you have to understand the basics first and that's a big part of it. This class won't do that according to the website blurb. However, if it turns out to be something "magic", I'd love to know! I'm sure there's always something to be learned, I just don't trust AE/Inked to necessarily deliver.

I would really recommend taking one of the many actual photographers' master classes or online workshops instead. There is nothing like a professional's eye and arsenal of tricks to learn in my opinion. I did one in street photography during our third lockdown earlier this year and it was wonderful despite the lack of opportunities to really practice street photography due to... well, lockdown. But if you're an avid Ali fan and really love the photos she takes, why not?

Its Lisa Varshine, one of her design team members. It says there are guests, but Ali isn't mentioned anywhere except to say she designed a digital package that's part of the class. It does sound like it could be interesting, though. I only see her work when I occasionally look at the blog, Lisa Varshine I mean, I don't follow her anywhere.
