Why are the quarterly kits priced differently? Some are $15 some are $20 & some are $25. Wish they would put albums on sale again. I thought I noticed the quarterly kits from this year being $25 (a better price- NOT worth the 35.99 I paid this year!) and the older circle one from some other year was $20. ** oh I see - they reduced this years black and white kit to only $15 now. That one must really not be selling. I love black and white (and have that kit) but that one was really not worth full price- it didn’t seem to contain as many embellishments as the other kits.

yes and the rainbow one is $15 as well. Everyone seemed to love that one.

Just gifted myself some AE things to ring in the new year. Or as my SO put it, I spent paper on paper! I got the December 2021 + February 2022 SBTM kits and a bunch of sticker sheets. Mostly phrase/word sticker sheets because Inked recently changed the material these are printed on and I hate the new thin, papery finish. Stocked up on the good stuff before it all goes away! (That's a PSA for the other scrappers who love their tiny phrase stickers.) International shipping went bonkers when adding more kits but some of you are going to have a blast with the beautiful Glow (ugh, those foiled vellum pieces on top of December photos!) and Whole story kits. Enjoy this great sale, everyone!

I just placed my very first order from AE, and I am excited to try out some new products. You guys are so good at enabling. 😊
I snuck in my order late last night while it was still 2022, so my January freeze can now begin!

I hate those word/phrase sticker sheets! I rarely ever use them. If anyone wants the sticker sheets, wood veneer, cork or rubber embellishments from AE let me know. I've just been throwing them all in a bin.

I am done with AE for a while. Every single 12x12 paper from my Numbers kit has a noticeable crease. I am so tired of paying premium prices for sub-par quality. Sorry Ali…

I haven’t purchased any of the 12x12 scrapbook kits, but every story kit I get has bent/curved sides. Every 6x8 paper needs to be pressed flat again.

Thanks for the tips, joteves! I did a search on the Craft the Story FB group, and there are actually quite a few ideas on how to use them. I'm going to try to challenge myself to use them up since I hate to waste anything. Thanks, amp. I already follow Linda on Instagram, but so many other elements of her work stand out that I didn't hone in on the word/phrase sticker sheets. I guess I need to pay more attention! By the way, great job on the Glow layout, @legal_lady. I regret not getting the digitals for that kit, but I'm so glad I have the physical components. My word for 2023 is Light, so it's just perfect.

I went back to this sale, for the 3rd time LOL and still can't find ONE thing I want. I truly think I have kicked my AE habit. I found her DD and DD posts super boring (and read others LOVED them!) and honestly, I haven't even bothered much in the FB or IG groups. I really and truly think I'm done. I've enjoyed this group, but, to be fair.. it's been pretty lax... without SB posts (YOU get an abbreviation! YAY!) there'd likely be ..... nothing. Just like the AE thread. Blah. Anyway, I just finished 99% of my 2021 and will put together 2022, hopefully soon. Persnickey is running a sale! Hopefully I have photos ready to send in the next day or two. Anyone have some good journalling ideas/prompts for pets? Aging pets that mean everything? In the last 10 years, my son transitioned to a young man, and my dog transitioned to the critter I spend all my time and smiles with these days. I have a couple spreads that are about her, but I need some words. She's easily 10. Much of this has been said before But she's still my golden girl.

So, I subbed to the first 30ish months of Story Kits and stamps and have picked up a number along the way. It sounds, indeed, like you've reached your limit with AE. I hope you've enjoyed the products you did receive and are finding alternatives that suit you better nowadays. Some things just run their course... I haven't subbed to AE in quite some time (the first year of her SBTM offer) so I had quite a bit of room, both physically and mentally, to add a few kits from hers. But if you can't find anything, that just means you're good to let go. And that's totally ok. Re: aging furry companion journaling prompts. I'm guessing you've already done an overview of your pet's current favourite toys, favourite blanket/bed, favourite food (and how all of this has changed over the years - fewer toys, dietary restrictions, more comfortable padding of beds, etc.)? Have you done a "walkies, walkies, fashion, baby" (to the tune of Bad Romance ) to document your pet's wardrobe? DITL exclusively from your pet's perspective? You could tally things for your pet's DITL like number of naps taken/hours spent sleeping, number of walks/runs around the garden, number of cuddle sessions, number of treats received, etc. You could also explore your pet's favourite "people": her dog BFF, her favourite human companion (I'm guessing you), the visitor/person living outside the home she's most excited about when they visit, her surprise fave (maybe the vet/vet assistant or postman). You could describe for each of these relationships her ways of expressing her love for these people and rituals. You could also document how she travels: a special seat or bed in the car, her crate if she travels with you on the plane/train, the extra things she enjoys to be as comfy as possible during these trips. For local car trips, maybe her favourite places to go (because she get a special treat or because it's a place she's allowed in the store with you). I'm probably already tapping into loads of things you've already documented about her but in case there's something that inspires you, just putting it all out there.

I am done with AE for a while. Every single 12x12 paper from my Numbers kit has a noticeable crease. I am so tired of paying premium prices for sub-par quality. Sorry Ali… Yikes. That's not good at all. Have you contacted the Inked CS to get a replacement? I see no reason to be denied a fresh set of papers here (and they are usually pretty good about such obvious issues). It won't solve the problems in the long run but you should at least get uncreased papers. That's what you paid for. I don't use the word/phrase sticker sheets much, either, but I think I just need some ideas! How do other people use them? They're wonderful gap fillers, great to add on top of photos (and not just stacked in a corner) and a super easy way to transform a journaling card (especially with AE cards that often feature a large prompt and then a small phrase that specifies something like "THIS STORY of October evenings" - just turn that into "THIS STORY" of what suits you with your phrase sticker stash). I loved the glow kit! I created a project with the digital version before my physical one arrived and was able to make a faux version of those foiled vellum pieces using my foil quil That's very pretty and the perfect amount of soft dramatic with the enlarged vellum piece, lasteve1. The magenta tones in Glow are absolutely gorgeous. It's such an underrated and underused colour in scrapbooking. You've paired it perfectly with those green shades in your enlarged photo.

I have one more story kit to go to fulfill my sub requirements. After that I'm canceling. I'm finding that the kits aren't what works for my PL album. I'm looking forward to the January kit though, I just never watch the classes so the value isn't there for me. Not overly thrilled with the 3x8 and 6x8 pages either. I've managed to use some by cutting them down but some don't work for that.

I’m sure they will send me a new pack, but this is the 3rd time in as many orders that I have had to contact them about defects. It gets old having to contact them, wait for a response, and then wait on them to ship replacements at a snail’s speed (in the US). It is no longer worth the hassle, and I find it most irritating that Ali and Katie seem to wash their hands of these issues with their Facebook group lockdowns. Ah well. It’s just paper….

Last year, they had the regular creative team and the DD creative team...and along with Ali's great posts, it was awesome. This year they have the AE Brand Ambassadors. Most are good, but some are just Ali enthusiasts with a video set-up and a lot of time. I just wasn't as excited this year...like, not near as excited. Last year, I used a lot of the Product Play ideas...this year, I liked very few. I vote to keep the Ambassadors, but get the super-talented people back as in years past. If the 2023 DD experience is as lame as this year, I will probably switch to another brand for December documenting. If nothing else, by switching brands, I will spend a lot less money. I hope they do better this next year, because when they are good, they are AMAZING!!!

I agree with what others have said, after my existing obligations, I am taking a long Ali break. I like what Linda and Krystal do with her products but I think I'm going to start picking up stuff on sale that I like instead of subscribing.

If it wasn't for Linda and Krystal, I would have ended all my subs a while ago with AE. But I really like their work. And Linda gives me Project Life inspiration, too.

I’m still really enjoying Ali’s products. I’ve only been using them for 1 year so I guess I haven’t reached over saturation or annoyance level. 😂 As for inspiration, although I enjoy watching Krystal and Linda, and Ali and Gretchen in classroom, I am not one that needs inspiration really. I like to do my own thing. Or watching anyone use any product can give me inspiration so that part doesn’t affect me at all. What does affect me is my budget. I spent way too much last year. And no one can really use all these subscriptions plus anything else you buy from other sources in a month. I have too much stuff. Choices are good but at some point a lot of choices becomes kind of claustrophobic (in my small scrap space at least) and feels kind of gross spending-wise. I did the scrapbook kit last year but I am not going forward with that as it’s not a good value to me. Also- this current sale showed me you can get one or two of the kits if you really love them at a nice discount. I currently have subs to: OLW Mini kit (had some gift money I applied to it). It’s my first year with OLW and I wanted more stuff and I am in love with those colorful flowers on the vellum. I’ll quit this at the end of this year and plan to not do again. Story kit - I have three more to go but there’s 5 I want coming up (with a skip in there) so I’ll cancel after that. Already that feels like too much so I’ll evaluate after 3 more. SBTM- my sub for this is up now but SBTM is my favorite and at 15.99 is a decent price in my opinion since I use it all that month. I plan to keep this one all year. And I’ll get sucked in to other things like DD release.

I liked reading Ali's dd blog posts everyday as they really got me into the holiday spirit. I wasn't really inspired by any of her layouts and don't plan to lift them, but I really enjoyed her enthusiasm and joy.
Glad to see Amy Gretchen is back posting her DD. She is my favourite. I really liked that she used dry embossing as a repeating element in her album. I'm just a fan of her clean and simple style. I also like that she uses product from other companies and that her pages don't look Ali'ified. But at the same time since she doesn't use a ton of product, even less as she doing mini's, I end up feeling slightly sick about my dd purchases. Even though I don't go crazy. But still, I could have just bought an album and that's it.
I haven't started my dd yet though. So maybe I'll change my mind after. I too looked at Ali's sale and didn't buy a thing. I'm just not that interested anymore.

I like the idea that they are now including content with the SBTM kit. However I have to chuckle as non of the three content creators used the new 6x8 or the 3.5x8.25 papers in their videos. Would’ve been helpful.
ETA: Also the stamp set in the kit is weird….not very sticky.

And they are all project life types. I haven’t tried my stamp yet. I think the larger papers sucked in this January kit but based on the sneak Ali showed before, Feb Will be fine for me for cutting/using to make it work. I used the brand new year vellum in my OLW and I’ll probably use the 3x8 for that as well since it’s doesn’t cut down to a 3x4 without cutting off some of the “January.” The 6x8 floral is just a waste though. Honestly, I’ll Probably just use that one for the back as a white sheet.

I was thinking of using those in my OLW as well. I did really like how Krystal used the word/phrase stickers and how she cut up the journal cards tho.
