Has anyone tried painting or altering the older white acrylic words from AE? I have one I want to use for my OLW but I want to color it.

Has anyone tried painting or altering the older white acrylic words from AE? I have one I want to use for my OLW but I want to color it. I have used acrylic paints with good results. It usually takes about 3 layers. Sometimes I have applied a thin layer of gesso, dried, then applied a few layers of paint on it.

Has anyone tried painting or altering the older white acrylic words from AE? I have one I want to use for my OLW but I want to color it. Yes! I use heat embossing. I've stamped all over it with the color I want with one of Ali's inks (any pigment ink should work) and then put clear heat embossing powder over it. It works well. I'll try to find an example on my instagram and add it to this post. ETA: This one is using gold embossing powder. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJtShztgqmF This one is using Ali's grey ink with clear embossing powder. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9jroo7gGne I know I've done more but I guess I haven't in awhile since we haven't been getting these words for a long time! I need to get back to using them.

Hi! Wanted to come here and give a little review of the Plan, Prep Play class. I was waiting until I got through everything in the first week before posting anything. I finished watching all the videos this morning.
I have to say that I am blown away by all the information in the class. Seriously. It’s packed. I have never done anything like this before. To actually sit down and write down the reasons why you scrapbook, come up with intentions and goals and then get your albums set up for these projects that you want to do. Mind blowing for me! Why haven’t I ever done this before? I have never organized my thoughts in regards to my projects like this. The worksheets will be so helpful to refer back to and remind me why I’m doing the projects that I’m doing.
I have never had a planner for my projects and I love that idea so I am going to make one for myself for this year. I feel excited about this!
Everything has been so eye-opening for me because my brain doesn’t think in such an organized way. Linda is very thorough in explaining everything and when I would think of a question in my mind, she soon gave me an answer for it in her video. I haven’t felt the need to reach out to her with additional questions yet.
I have a very hard time watching the videos but that goes for any craft related video. Even five minutes is asking a lot of me when it comes to this but that’s just me. The only way I was able to really focus on the videos was to hop on my treadmill and walk while I watched. Getting my steps in so that’s a good thing! Haha! Because I have a hard time watching videos, I’m glad that there are also PDF’s.
I’m really looking forward to the next lessons!

I like that camera envelope. Odds that it is under $75 for that kit?

Hmm interesting must be the mini kits she was talking about on IG. So 4 mini kits to do a quarterly project instead of two DITL’s? I like the looks of that album. I wonder if it will all be released together. She gets all my money 😆

Same. I don't want to do WITL again this year. It's just too much. And I didn't like the products for DITL (too much introspection for my Gen-X self). So I'm looking for a project that might be something in the middle. I also really get inspired by the community and like working on things with other people. I don't know anyone in my offline life who do any sort of memory keeping.

I had a skip on open because I don’t need more stuff and the theme didn’t seem like something I needed but sigh, the colors are so happy! Lol I’m sure I’ll unskip. Except I hate that face paper. Faces like that creep me out. I like the Feb SBTM- I love pinks though. I crushed the Jan SBTM kit.
I am curious about those craft envelopes and what’s coming. Ali is not making it easy for me to stick to me (low) budget for 2023!

I go back and forth with the Open kit. The kit looks happy but there is quite a bit I would not use (all of the 6x8 papers, the stay open die cut, the opening chapter die cut). Basically all I want is the cards and that kit is too expensive to just get it for the cards. So I guess I will wait and see if they show up in a sale at some point.

I am done with WITL, DITL, etc. MAYBE one DITL a year is enough for me. I do think it's interesting that she emphasized that it was a subscription. I am getting to be burned out on subs with everything in my life.

Don't really like the Open Story Kit so I'm staying skipped.
I do month-to-month so I'm interested in what's going to happen if I try to skip again. Will I have to cancel and start a new sub if I like a future kit?
Who knows. But the next time there is a big release will someone please remind me I have a damn coupon? Thank you.

She talked about this on one of her stories maybe last week and said it was not subscription, but would be a quarterly offering. One was DITL, one was maybe WITL, ONE was facts and feelings and I forget the other. She said it was 4 mini kits. I’m super interested as this might be a better, less product heavy way to do some annual projects. I also just watched the OPEN story kit walk thru and I’m happy with this month. Feels very usable in various projects. I also adore the vellum tag pack add on!

This is super helpful bc I have been debating taking it. With OLW and start of year stuff, I have a lot going on and don’t want to get overwhelmed. I have bought classes before and then never taken them bc there was just too much going on. I will get it - maybe not starting it quite yet, but you’ve helped me with knowing this would be useful for me in my crafting journey

I like the SK a lot! This fulfills my 12month sub and I can now cancel. I’ve been waiting for this milestone for a long time. And now I am hesitant. I hate myself sometimes. 😆

I love all the kits this month. It’s nice that the cards and papers have more options to be cut apart and I love the die option that will go with all the story stamps throughout the year. I’m actually liking the changes and am excited to use the products again. The open kit would’ve been so great for my OLW last year. I will probably use it mostly for my OLW project anyway.
Love the idea of the mini kits and community based projects. I wonder if it will replace WITL or if that will be a separate release?

I'm not a subscriber but I really, really want the open kit. I feel like it would go perfect with my OLW. Yes! I think it would go great with your word. I was playing with the idea of using some of the kit with my PL and then saving the rest to use along with my OLW or even possibly having the word open next year as I’m liking that idea. I cracked and unskipped and also added the vellum tags to match. I’m basically hopeless. And “open” to drowning in products. On the plus side, I didn’t add the pieces of play stamp to my box! I have all the other ones but realized a lot of the stamps on the play stamp just don’t resonate with me and just because I have the others doesn’t mean I have to have this one so I “saved” $20 lol

I started a 6-month Story Kit sub in January, and I skipped this month, but I'm not sure what I'll do. I love looking at that Open kit. I actually like the faces but the aesthetic is so different from anything else that AE has offered. I'm not sure it matches anything else. There are a lot of pieces that I would want just so I could look at them, but I'm really not sure how I would use them. I probably need to see how Krystal and others are using it before I decide.
I have a 12-month sub to the Stories by the Month, and I have no regrets so far.

I can't tell from the photos whats in the kits and I'm not watching the videos, so makes it easy for me to pass. Not sure why they changed to zoomed in photos. Easy pass

The open kit looks great and it will work really well for my PL 2023 album. But after this kit I have fulfilled my sub commitment. After it ships I'll be canceling. I'll wait for any sales if I want anything else.
