My topics this week are, in order, what’s cooking, at work, knees (current health issue), facts & feelings, in the garden, my partner, & my kids. That was the extent of my prep! So each day will have one of those topics - will it be the whole focus for that day or will you have other daily stuff + that topic? This is my first WITL as a whole album (I did it last year but just added a bunch of extra pages to my PL). I just decided Saturday night to do it so I’m basically winging it over here. Lol Yes to daily stuff + topic! Being an empty nester that works 8-5, most days are pretty much the same here. I’m using the topics to help flesh out my album and also to challenge myself to do more journaling.

I was thinking I might focus each day on a different thing: husband daughter cats around the house at work
then there is the weekend stuff we have going on
What do you think? I'm wondering if this would take some pressure off.
Or it might just be weird.

I'm wondering if this would take some pressure off. Or it might just be weird. I think this is a good idea. Kind of like 'pieces of a week in the life'. A fun one was doing a whole day from the cats perspective, like putting the camera on the ground to see what they see. I've done WITL enough times, that what I do now is more curated. I like it to just reflect the time of life I am in or a snapshot of the year sort of, so I make it a point to take photos of certain things and not worry about which day was which photo. Or just add lists of things I am into, favorites, or what's changed since the last week in the life was documented. But yes, the idea of no pressure is good!

I like any and all ideas - all valid choices. I am just taking pictures and not particularly concerned about what shots I’m getting. Yesterday I had already take a lot of photos by dinner so I just stopped. I figured I’d take evening pictures today and will do much less during the day. I don’t want a lot of the same type of pic each day- I’d rather mix it up. Maybe Thursday or Friday I’ll look back through my camera roll and see if anything stands out as missing or underrepresented and focus on getting some of those shots. But I’ve never done a WITL album so I’m just winging it but it will reflect my week and that’s the point so I’m good.

I just print my pics at home on my sephy. If I wanted a full page for my 6x8 album how would I do it? An 8x10 at Walgreens or wherever and just chop some off? Do a 5x7 and just back it and it’s good enough?
I heard Ali talking about sizing a photo and then placing on a blank 8x10 white space in photoshop and sending that to print- is that the best? Maybe my dd could do that for me unless there’s an option I’m not considering.

I use the Print to Size app on my phone and then use the Letter size photo paper in my regular printer and then size the photo in the app to 7 x 8.25 and it works great! Just click past my cover page and you will see 3 full size pages I printed this way http://instagr.am/p/CrduftUOsJd

She uses her Selphy all the time and also uses the PicFrame app, I believe. She basically prints half of a 6X8 on each 4X6. I have not tried it, but I thought it was kind of clever. I'll see if I can find a link. Last year (which was also my first time doing WITL), I just used my Selphy to print my photos, and I was happy with how it all turned out. This year, I'd like to try some 6X8's, but I'll probably just send them to Persnickety for printing.

Here's one I found. She puts two photos together around minute 14. She also has a whole playlist on Selphy tips and tricks: youtu.be/6XW7exbqERQI'm doing WITL in a 6X8 album, so most likely that's the size I'll use for select photos. Have never done this before, but I'm really liking the way it looks in others' albums.

But can you ask persnickety to print 6x8 or is it some other size and you drop it or something?

Just remember if you want it to be the size of the page protector and not go inside, it's a little bigger. And if you have photoshop, you could use some of the extra space on the page to print some tiny pics as well.

How’s everyone who is participating this week doing with WITL? I have been so tired this week I’ve just been doing pictures and today (my day off) is my first time starting to thinking about album layout, design etc. I am kind of over taking pictures but it’s ok because I took way more than I can use Mon-thurs so some of them can be for today and the weekend. Also, I’m reminded that I really don’t need *that* many pictures so whatever I do get will probably be too many anyway! Lol I do know I need evening pictures as that’s where I’ve fallen down since being tired so I’ll focus on that the next couple days.

So I ended up forgetting.. like 3 days in and said forget it. I had a couple rough days and my heart wasn't in it so now I'm shifting to May 8th-14th. Eurovision into Mother's Day sounds perfect to me

Had to take the kid to DC for a competition this weekend. My citrus twist order came on Saturday.
I am so tired. I don't think I'm going to start WITL tomorrow.
I think I'm going to wait until whatever is the next week. May 8?
I need to go through my paper and find some good matches. I also have a box with die cuts and my cards. I don't have a lot of either and I really enjoy the process but just not right now.

My April Story Kit still hasn't shipped. I have received two emails stating that due to inventory issues, my kit will be delayed. I ordered the Great Outdoors Felt Embellishments (which ended up being out of stock and refunded), plus the wood block stamp set.
Is anyone else still waiting on their April kits?
*Edited to fix typo.

I received mine one week ago. I live in France. I ‘m so disappointed with these kits that I canceled my subscriptions even if I had months to get them.

I received my kits a few days ago--either Thursday or Friday. I'm on the East Coast. I also ordered and received the wooden stamp set. I'm so sorry you haven't received yours. It would be nice if they could give you store credit or something to make up for the delay.

Hey Peas, A good friend of mine recently placed an order with the last stamp release. When she received her order, all was there except the 6x8 frames stamp set. ( It is currently sold out on the website). She reached out to AE customer service, they informed her they are completely out of this stamp and will have to refund her. Typically, we have always believed that AE hold some stock back to ensure orders that are lost/damaged can be replaced. I am curious if anyone else has ever had this issue with AE indicating they have no back stock of a newly released item. It just seems very odd to me.

OK, I am just going to make a confession. I have decided AE projects just do not work for me. There, I said it. Feels good to get it off my chest. I don't know exactly what it is I want any of you to say to my confession, but I tried Story Kits and I hardly used them. I was going to subscribe to Stories by the Month and then she changed it up and it didn't fit with my PL vibe. I thought I would dig in with one little word this year and by the time it was recommended we have a conversation with our word, I knew it was just not in my plane of thinking. And then WITL I've been trying to sink into for the past few days, taking pics and I realized that I don't even know if people will want to look at my PL albums, let alone a whole 10x8 album of just one week in my life. My life isn't even that interesting and hey, I have a PL to put as many pics in as I want so why the hell am I trying to do this?
I'll tell you why, I like her aesthetic. The products are appealing. Her projects she shares are great. She does excellent work. But it just does not work for me and it's taken me way too long and way too much money to figure it out. But, whew! I finally, finally get it. I will finally, finally stop trying to make something happen that just feels uncomfortable to me.
Thank you for listening. I will continue to look at the products and be in awe of all of you who use them to their advantage and really make beautiful things with them. That person just isn't me.

jeremysgirl there is nothing wrong with finding a memory keeping plan that works for you! I was a diehard Ali fan for years (since 2004?). I read her article in Creating Keepsakes Magazine first every month, checked her blog daily, watched her videos, took her classes, etc. I have her first story stamp set and subscribed to her stamp club when she was with Technique Tuesday. Over the years, my style and the stories I want to tell (and how I want to tell them) has changed. I still subscribe to her Story Kit but I use those products with other products from my stash. I find her story telling and journaling to be introspective and not relevant to the photo she takes (for example, a photo of her feet in her garden, then journaling about her growth as a person), whereas I want to capture the memories from a specific day or event. Flower photos = journaling about our day in the botanical garden. Neither style is wrong, just different. I do have some layouts and albums that are much more about my feelings and my evolution as a person, perspective as a parent, or thoughts on my divorce, kids growing up, etc., but those layouts are not my favorite. I love looking at the photos of our vacations, school events, birthday parties, holidays, my garden... all the moments that make me love my life and my people.

craftymom101 you explained it better than I could. I keep an actual journal, digital. There is where I flesh out my thinking each day. I want to capture the funny stories and milestones in my books, the memory of whatever happened in the photo. Trying to condense my real life journal into a suitable size for a 6x8 layout? I just can't do that. The ideas I wrestle with are much too big for that. So it always comes across like I'm not being genuine when I try to make my personal thoughts bite-sized. I finally took my story kits apart and put the cards and embellishments away with my other stuff. I thought maybe if I did that, it would better encourage me to use them going forward. So here's hoping. Unfortunately I have virtually every product from last year's WITL kit + 10x8 album and I just don't even know what to do with it.
