A few thoughts... I haven't yet watched most of lesson 2 of the stash class but Ali still does lots of traditional layouts + her quarterly scrapbook kits include 12x12 paper so I would imagine she shares her thoughts for this. I also have a lot of my organization systems shared on my youtube channel www.youtube.com/@lindalovescreating (I have an organization playlist) including a video about papers and a video about washi tape, among other things. Sorry I would link the actual videos but I can't from this computer. Thanks for the reminder that Ali puts out that 12X12 scrapbooking kit. Right now, my 12X12 paper organization is in those Totally Tiffany organizers, and it LOOKS all organized, but the categories I used in the past aren't working for me anymore. (As evidenced by me spending 3-4 hours on a layout that should have taken 20 minutes.) I used to do more event scrapbooking when my kids were young, but I've leaned more into everyday storytelling. My organizing needs to reflect this shift. I loved your organization class and how you used some older products to suit your current style! I agree that the "1%" estimate is totally made up. When I view the Zooms for either OLW or the Story Kits, it's obvious that there is a big international audience. From what I know about Ali, I think she would be mortified by someone implying that her company doesn't care about international customers. Got my travel items yesterday--so cute. I haven't been getting much physical product lately, mainly digital, so it was a special treat to get those felt geo-tags.

And I can totally sympathise with just stuffing items in a room as you’re going to redo it soon - it took a whole house repaint and new flooring for me to really go though a lot of what we had stored in our house that were items we didn’t actually want or need any more. Are you going to do another accent wallpaper? I'm not planning on wallpaper, but I am planning on repainting and getting some new furniture + decor before really tackling a lot of the supply organization. I plan to keep my desk layout mostly the same because that part of the room is really functional, it's just the other furniture and the old accent wall that isn't working anymore. I do plan to share a "before" video of what my room looks like now with what is working, what isn't, and what I am hoping to change/keep the same. I'm aiming to do that in September once I get back from my Europe vacation.

I'm taking the class. I'm sort of disappointed. I scrap more events, and more using collections. So breaking things up does not work for me. Nor does storing by shapes,..ie circles, stars...and like. what other shapes are there? square, rectangle, etc. I don't scrap by using shapes, but objects.
I'm not sold on the bridging technique either. Put something out, just to make you use it. I suppose that could work, to be a start point, or inspiration.
My sb room is a disaster right now, and I was hoping for some storage and organization ideas. I havn't gotten it so far. My main problem has been that when I have been scrapbooking a lot, it's at a retreat, so I need everything in my totes, then get home, and just leave it. then get more stuff, and it's in my room laying around, and there are collections and page kits everywhere.

I'm enjoying the class, although I haven't watched all of the Lesson 3 videos. I've taken a pause from my scrapbooking to organize my "pain" areas, which are my story kit cards and my 12X12 papers. Sorting things by shapes doesn't make sense for me. I really don't have a whole lot of AE supplies compared to the rest of my stash. I prefer sorting by color and theme. I was proud of myself for taking a break from organizing to make a travel layout using both old and new products. I found some gems and combined an old Shimelle paper (from her first collection!) with embellishments from the Open and Explore story kits. I'd like to do more of this. I'm not big on purging because I do like my old stuff but need to find ways to use it and make it feel fresh.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the class. The first time I saw Ali mention she sorted her chipboard by shape, I thought it was crazy. I still think it's a bit crazy, but my brain thinks more in terms of color or theme. I hope you get something worthwhile out of the class!

I think it makes sense for Ali because her products use the same dies over and over again. Some of us have a greater diversity of products, especially if we've been scrapbooking for a long time. I also don't start with product. I usually start with photos or a story. I am adapting the class content for my own needs. It's still a good class for me simply because it's making me dig into my own supplies. Linda Jordan's class (Plan, Prep, & Play) actually had a lot of good storage ideas. In one of the lessons, she shares her own craft room storage along with those of two other scrapbookers.

Yes, that's my class! Thanks. It's offered through Ali Edwards and it ran live during January of 2023. I do share some stuff on organization, but the class covers a lot more than that. It's more focused on craft planning + thinking about your system as a whole (what you make, when you make it, how you make it) and organization is a piece of that. I cover crushing a kit, setting goals/intentions for projects, using older supplies, supply organization, and workspace flow. It's still available for purchase as a go at your own pace class. I also have some free content for specific areas of organization on my youtube channel: Organization Playlist @ Linda Loves Creating

I actually revamped my chipboard/small ephemera organization after watching Linda's videos. I sort by theme (i.e. summer, weather, food, etc) If it's a generic item, I sort by color. The only shapes I sort by are hearts and stars.

I can vouch for Plan, Prep, and Play, it's probably the most useful class I've taken. I take a lot of time to really think through each lesson, so I'm not finished yet (I started it a few months ago), but I am working diligently through it. There is a ton of great info in it.

Curious- was the 2024 WITL alpha ever released digitally? I really would like to scraplift (different quote, same general idea) the last page of Jennie's album with the quote- but for some reason I didn't see the alpha released. Am I simply missing it?

I don't think it was ever released. Someone on 2 Peas shared the name of the font...can't remember off the top of my head, but it may be easiest to find it and download it. If I find the name of the font, I'll share, but someone else might be able to weigh in.

FuzzyMutt: the name of the font is Aurochs. It is available for $26 through Creative Market--yikes! I couldn't find a free download anywhere. Maybe someone more clever than me has a clue?

Maybe someone more clever than me has a clue? $26 dollars?! Whoaaaa I don’t even like the font, just wanted it for this album 🤣. It was $6 or less kinda good. Thank you soooo much, but man, I’m gonna have to pass on that! Surely I have a nice patterned paper somewhere in my stash that will look great in that spot!

Dang. I logged in at 12:03. Almost everything is sold out. I typically add something to my box just so they don't ship in the patterned envelope for the sbtm kit but I'm not finding anything to add.
Maybe I'll look through the word stickers again.
Bummer.

I was in at 12… same. Maybe she plans to continue adding? Honestly- that was super underwhelming, even if half of the items weren’t sold out.

Hey, let’s complain about SBTM again and get told off! Lol The die cuts are the same die as the March kit (fine) but many have the EXACT same sentiments on them!! Struggling, TGIF, yep/nope and many more. I’ll be able to use most of it but that is pretty dang uninspired to copy the same exact words 5 months later.

I don't sub but I'm going to complain. I don't like the faces and cidadas? Just no. The overuse of skyworms/butterflies is one thing, no way would I document cicadas. Ew. I do sub to Stories kit, not sure how I feel yet. I love dark green, but something feels off in this kit for me.

Ugh The only thing I like about the physical story kit is the pockets with cards in them. It's the kind of product I can make digitally, but it just doesn't look the same. I have the digital kit on skip (which is my go-to from now on), so I need to decide if I'll un-skip. The theme of Collect seemed very specific at first, but I do like the quote cards and the way some of the products can go with a lot of different stories. (So I guess I do like something besides the pockets!) I love the faces--but not for scrapbooking! They had something similar in the Open kit, and I couldn't see a way of using them even though I think they're kind of cool. I live in North Carolina, and the cicadas are in full force during the summer. Do they have them in Oregon where Ali lives? I guess I just assumed they were everywhere.

I am here for the cicadas! I was excited to see that because they get really loud here in August. It's not a brood year for us this year but I still love the dang things.
I don't like the checkerboard things but I really like everything else and will not otherwise complain (much).
I like the faces and the die cuts look useable. I like to have a couple of consistent elements across the spread.
I am bummed that the number 01 02 03 card has eating, enjoying, whatever. Now I won't be able to use that card.
People, I don't care about food. I will not document what I am eating. I eat food. Whatever.
