Im thinking they will do both. I think they will keep the stamp and replace the chipboard with something else, flatter. If they do either, I will cancel. SaveSaveOr they could turn it into a $25-ish kit by ending the previous-year-digi-kit-designs-gone-physical format and having Ali design a whole new one. They'd need a few more monthly cards, another embellishment or two and voilà. Money maker right there. I'll be the first person to unsubscribe if that happens. The kit is worth it at the current price but I wouldn't pay any more for it. And I am also not interested in a different kit. It works as it is now - cheap, cheerful and a fresh injection to the stash every month.

I am looking forward to a travel kit from Ali. I had been debating buying SC new line but I know Ali's will appeal to me much more.

I love the shape of the 3x8 but I wonder how practical it is for me given I take so many pictures and usually have lots of people and things to include. I could see using it for a weekend trip or DITL. What else are others planning to do with them? I love Geralyn's World Travel album so I am going to make a 3x8 for the 50 States. I plan to do a 2 page spread for each state. Just a photo or two and a little journaling. I am going to chop up a Simple Stories album to make it.

I get the SBTM kit. Mine shipped 4/17 USPS and made it to Iowa (and my mailbox) on 4/19. I'm loving these kits, and hope they don't change. I tried the Story Kits and Stamps for a while. I don't use them much, so I had to quit that. I'm actually not using the SBTM kits yet either. My plan is to use them to document 2017. I'm behind a little. I'm scrapping PL style monthly. I still have 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018 to present to catch up on. I may try digital or more likely hybrid for 2018. I work full-time, so I scrap when I can find the time. Wish I could do it all day!!

Yah, I wasn't suggesting moving away from the current SbtM idea + price tag but just trying to think where Inked might want to take the monthly themed PL-type approach for the AE brand considering the success of SbtM. Then agan, if they're trying to save the SC subscriptions, they may want to hold off making AE's PL-type kit a larger and more expensive offer until they're out of reasonable options for the SC Documenter kit...

I mean it’s absolutely the kind of thing they would do. Biggest bait and switch company I’ve ever known.

Catching up on PL 2018 at the moment and I've come to realise I like SbtM but not enough to sub another year. I find myself trying to diffuse the kits (and barely using January which was full of bright primary colours). I don't document enough photos in PL to use up even half the cards so that the kits are diffused enough they blend in with my other products. So, each SbtM kit ends up being broken down into approx. 1/4 to 1/3 of the cards + chipboards getting used, the rest being put into a small box for next year. For this reason, I wouldn't sign up for another round (despite it being one of the best deals on the PL market today and I stand by that sentiment). Looking forward to the next few months of SbtM though as they are some of my favourites from the 2017 digi kits. I agree. I am working on Project Life 2016, 2017 and 2018 so I will use the SBTM kit elements eventually. I like that there are more seasonal elements that my older GB/KP/SC stash doesn't have. Especially the chipboard. I am finding the stamps the hardest to work with. I don't know why. I use the KP and Gossamer Blue stamps a lot on my layouts.

I received my Type story kit today. Received the shipping notice on the 17th and it shipped UPS innovations and arrived here today the 23rd in Louisiana.
It's my first kit from her, the last two months I was subbed to the story stamp. I do like the colors in the kit, and I love that alpha stamp and the transparent alphas. Since it was the first time I bought a kit from her, it was nice to feel the cards and see what you all mean about them being a nice heavy weight.

I have a bunch of trips to document so I’m hopeful Ali’s will be good. It doesn’t help that I’m dreaming of summer and vacations. I’ve been going stir crazy. 😂

I too have not used my kits yet, but I haven’t started PL 2018 yet and plan to use them for that (along with Elle’s Studio).

My order shipped on 4/17 via Mail Innovations to Wisconsin and I received it on 4/23. I subscribe to both the Story Kit and Stories by the Month.

I too have not used my kits yet, but I haven’t started PL 2018 yet and plan to use them for that (along with Elle’s Studio). I can totally relate! I started PL in 2014. I finished that album late 2015. It's my only completely PL album so far and I'm okay with that. I have about 20 weeks between 2015 and 2016 done but I am committed to eventually completing them all. My goal was to go back and fill them in while keeping current with the current year's album but my kids just don't allow me to focus. If I can't concentrate on something because they are underfoot and constantly interrupting, I stop. Instead of thinking it's cute...it frustrates me and makes me angry and those aren't the emotions I want to feel when I'm trying to enjoy something!! As a result, I don't scrap heavily during the school year because I can't stay up late to get stuff done. I wish I could scrapbook more, but there is almost nothing that ruins my day more than trying to spend a little bit of time doing something I enjoy to be constantly interrupted (and that's primarily because if I were doing nothing, I would never get interrupted). At least my spending doesn't outweigh my productivity to the degree it used to. Right now, I'm up to August in my 2017 albums but I'm going to start my 2018 album soon (I have pics for Jan/Feb). Hubs is going away for work tomorrow through the weekend so I'm hoping that while he's away I can get my March 2018 pictures ordered during the kiddos' awake hours and start on this year's album after they're in bed Upside is that other than birthday weeks, I have maintained my commitment this year to print far fewer pictures. For the first time since 2014 I have been able to cram multiple weeks into a single 2 page spread (sometimes with a 9x12 or 6x12 insert), so when I do start this year's album, I'll be able to catch up quicker.

Did I miss something? Is the speculation for the kit change stemming from there being no May digital kit for this year?

That's weird and really odd. I hope it's not a warning sign of things that could come I'm wondering if the digital isn't selling as well because of the physical kit and we won't get the year's notice from now on (sell the same digital kit when the physical kit is released type thing). I wouldn't mind the surprise, but that's the ONLY surprise I would be okay with. Many people share the sentiment of the 12mo subscription being a tremendous value (especially when you consider Ali's ridiculous Kate Spade style pricing) so I'm not shocked that there is also worry that something's going to change because it feels too good to be true.

Speculation was purely business decision-based in conjecture with Inked's history of cashing in where there's short-term enthusiasm. I didn't even realise there wasn't a May digital SbtM kit for this year. This would indicate they are indeed moving away from the pattern established for the physical product for 2018 and changes will come (size of stamp and/or chipboard, price or overall product offer expanding into a larger monthly kit).
My stamp sets from my SbtM sub remain untouched so far. They're repetitive sentiments rather than graphic elements so my guess is that I'm just not gravitating towards them...

I know it’s her brand but I do wish she would have some guest designers now and then. I love the stamps but as stated above they are repetitive and lacking graphic elements. It would be nice to have it mixed up now and then.

I would get the digital SBTM but it seems too high for me. I know that the argument with digital is that you can use it over and over again, but $14.49 seems high.

Isn’t the digital price cheaper for December Daily and other projects. This is the only one I can think of where the digital is more if I’m not mistaken.

I’ve heard that she designs the cards and her word art, Katie does colors and SC does extra embellishments etc. I don’t think she designs the whole kit, just the word, concept and some parts of it.

I received my WITL order this morning. The 3x8 album and dividers look good--but I don't think I'll use them together. Cream and gold + black and white are too much of a mismatch to me. I'll probably use a 6x8 black album from AE with the dividers to document my WITL.

The AE digital SBTM price is about double that of similar digital scrapbooking kits. And those digi designers often have discounts for their email subscribers during release week.
