I take one just in case there's a skimming device on the pump. That way I can prove which is actually my receipt. Not sure if that would work, but I don't want to take any chances. This is why I take it too, I toss it when I get my next tank. |

I haven't read all the replies, but I always get a receipt after hearing about someone who was visited by the police after getting gas and going home. They tried to say he didn't pay for it. I think it was some kind of credit card issue - but ever since I heard that, I always get a receipt. My DH does not get one!  |

Usually not because it's just another waste piece of paper and the station where I normally go isn't staffed and you have to prepay to fill up.
