This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

We got home late last night and I didn't get the new thread posted. This morning I went off to school and forgot that it was a new month until I wrote the date on one of my papers. Sorry for the slow thread. Here are the cards I did for Card Club in October. It was really fun playing with the Oxide Inks. Dragonfly hello cards for Card Club. by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Thanks for setting this up again, nylene. Happy November, Pokeys! Last day here before heading back west. In the morning I will drive a couple hours to the airport then fly to edmonton. Will stay the night in a hotel, then do some shopping, print photos, and drive home. We are hanging out, waiting for the school bus to arrive. Parents are going out for supper, and Gramma & the little guy are going on a date to DQ, then home here for bedtime routine.

Thanks Nylene for the new thread! Your help is so appreciated and appear continually in one's gratitude books! Boy tonight is the last game of the world series! Good thing so I can get some more sleep! I have good news I only have 5 more visits to the Pulmonary Rehab! So a week from Monday should be my last visit for the time being. I saw the lung doctor today and he answered a lot of my questions. Trying something new to me for the drainage I get continually due to my allergies. He feels my my use of exercise will be fine IF i continue to do the exercise at home. I have a treadmill, recumbent bike and some other stuff so no excuses. I used to use them until it got to where I could not breathe. I think I am caught up in the gallery and bought some new goodies to use on my Christmas cards so that has sparked my mojo a bit! grammadee we miss you and happy posts when you are gone. Hope you will be home for a few! However I hope you enjoyed your visit...dinner at DQ sounds good to me! LisaDV thinking about your turkey! Waiting to hear if he really gets the business or os becoming a pet! Waving a big hello to MSLIZ, Elayne, Kelly, Jac, and anyone else I can't think of!

I want you to ask someone to take a picture of you on your treadmill, and a picture of you on your bike, and then I want you to use your scrapping mojo to make and post a layout. And then I want you to display your layout somewhere in your home where you'll see it and you'll be inspired to keep exercising. What do you say? We want you healthy again!

I am picking up a new color with my HL 40%off every once in a while and also did a background of faded jeans, broken china and wilted violet. I sent that card before I thought to take a photo. I am amazed at how well they blend. scrapincin , I second msliz and think you need to make a layout and frame it of your using your exercise equipment. I am glad you only have 5 more visits and hope that you continue to do well. Hooray for better lung capacity!! LisaDV , I am thinking about you and your turkey. Wishing you luck as you do what has to be done. LOL grammadee , I am sure you will have a great DQ meal with DGS. Please be careful coming home. I hope you will have a little rest time once you get home. Sending hugs to all our busy Pokey Peas. Drop in when you have time. We love to hear about what you are doing. Save

Love those cards, nylene. It's good for me to see all the things yall do that I have no clue about. Safe trip and happy homecoming grammadee. Double treat to see grands and come home with pics to scrap. Hoping your breathing continues to improve, scrapincin. Congrats on finishing rehab. Happy day to all pokey peas and looking forward to seeing what you are up to this month. To those asking about our trip, we leave Nov 14. 6 days in Arkansas then on to Alabama to spend TG with family. We are excited about staying in park cabins and the house we have rented on a lake in Alabama and seeing everyone. We have been to Arkansas several times so will be looking for something different to photograph. I saw a beautiful pic of a road with fall leaves and snow...maybe we'll get some snow. I usually have in mind 1 pic I want to take and I look for it during our trips. One trip was snow at the grand canyon...pretty doubtful in April, but it happened! My dh said, " He did this just for you." One of our grandsons just bought his 1st house so we'll get to see it in Alabama. He is 28 and single, but has been working full time in IT since he was 17. He is 1 of "those" kids. His little sister will be living with him. 4 other grandsons will be visiting next weekend so I should be well supplied with pictures after this month! I'm hoping to take them to a play at the local children's theater.

scrapincin thanks for all your lovely comments. Thanks to the rest of you as well. I've been reading your posts, but not responding very often. I am done with Layout A Day and although I love the challenges, I am happy it's over. October was so busy! I had Thanksgiving, the adult education conference that grammadee presented at, our three day crop, then a week of curling games to watch, Halloween, all the while scrapping and working. I don't mean to complain. I loved all of it, and I was too busy to gain the weight I usually put on in October. nylene those cards are gorgeous. I might see if I can do something similar for Christmas. @elaynef your trip sounds amazing! LisaDV I love seeing your traditional pages as well as your digital ones. I haven't really searched out a lot of digi inspiration so thanks for sharing. Here are a few of my favourite LOAD layouts: My Crazy Week by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr Scrapbooking Superstars by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr And a digital Project Life one: Card Makers by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr

Quick turkey update: I bought the wrong poultry scalder and I don't have a pot big enough for the turkeys. So they get a reprieve until I get the right voltage of scalder. I bought a 240 which we don't have an outlet for. We just bought the 120, but it won't be here until the 9-14th. I didn't even think about voltage. I'll check back in later. Going to clean the coop now.

LisaDV, do those turkeys know how lucky they are? LOL Good luck on getting the correct scalder. Mom used to do it on a big pot on the stove...very stinky to a little girl.

Hi Nylene! When I saw the second page here in the gallery there was only one and it remains that way . If you click on the page on the top it will take you to the layout. I left you some love there. On the bottom of the page it shows both pages but not on the other.
I got one of the Christmas cards made last night going to try another one tonight. So better get moving!

I am home, safe and sound. Flew into Edmonton last night and stayed in a hotel. I am really glad I pre booked it, as it was snowing and blowing when we touched down, and I did NOT want to start on a multi hour drive in the dark through THAT. This morning I had a lazy morning. Breakfast was included at the hotel and I waited until visibility was a bit better and the morning traffic rush had slowed down before heading into the city from the airport. Printed my photos from the past week as well as a bunch my dgd and my ddil had shared with me on line. Had a cup of my favorite coffee while waiting for the pics to print. Then I went Christmas shopping. Managed to pick up Christmas gifts for five grandkids, and bd gifts for two of them as well. I already had a couple of gifts, so just 4 more gifts required for the dgk's. Of course those are the hardest ones to buy for... After seeing them all over the past month, and seeing what options are out there, I am feeling a little more relaxed about finding something each will like. Wrapped it up by 3PM and was home by 6:00. Nothing has come in from my vehicle, but it can all wait a day or two. I am off to bed now. Will leave some love in the morning for you in the Gallery, nylene.

Happy Saturday everyone! DH & DS are off on a pheasant hunt. DD & I are working on school and played a few games of Sorry & sorry sliders during a break. I'm working on meal planning, laundry (that never ending chore) and hope to get some more cleaning/rearranging in the dining area finished today. I also hope ds will finally try on his lounge pants so I can finish them this evening. Tomorrow we're all going to church together and going to see the new Thor movie afterwards. Monday I take Logan to get the first braces tightening, so I have plans to make some tapioca pudding either later tonight or tomorrow evening upon our return so it's ready for the sore mouth of Monday. With a busy couple of days, I thought I should get on here now and wish everyone a happy November. Is anyone doing the 30 days of gratitude? grammadee, I'm glad you are home safe. I can't wait to see the pages that will follow your return trip. nylene, left you love earlier on your dynamic pages. What does the asian symbols say? There is no way my dh would even ask me to bring the birds inside for scalding. We did think about heating the water on the stove and then dumping it in a larger container outside. But to maintain the heat with the cold it would just be too difficult. Maybe he wanted me to volunteer, but I don't think they'd fit whole in my largest stock pot. scrapincin, you are better than me. I'm hoping to get my calendar swap done this week and then I can start working on Christmas cards. msliz, I hope you are having a fun and productive time at your crop. @elaynef, that is a gorgeous photo. I love scenery photos and scrapbooking them too. justjac, you have had such a busy October. Is your November lighter? kellyr21, how are you? Hope everything is good.

Good Saturday evening, Pokeys. With the time change, I guess we get an extra hour to sleep tonight--or play with paper! Congrats on your graduation from boot camp, scrapincin! And I hope you are enjoying your card making. I have never butchered a turkey, LisaDV, but I have butchered lots of chickens in my life. Our family used to pluck them dry, but my dh's family always dunked them in boiling water. I hated the smell of wet feathers, but have to agree they come off faster that way. Good luck! After seeing your cards, nylene, I needed to buy some Orange Marmelade Oxide ink yesterday. Haven't taken it out of its package, but looking forward to playing with it. Are you all ready for your trip, @elaynef? It sounds like a great couple of weeks. Today I brought in the stuff from my vehicle and did a few things around the house. Made a thank you card for dh to give to a guy who did some field work for him. Tomorrow, I hope to put together a page or two. I have Halloween photos and the October kit from a LSS, might start there, unless I MAKE myself do the reunion pages first. Maybe I will try nylene's system she used for Christmas in July--if I do so many of THOSE pages, I can then do so many of THESE...

Good Monday morning Peas! Hope all is well with all of you and yours. Everyone here is good as far as I know. I am dragging this morning-noit much sleep Saturday night so probably from that. I got my first selection of Christmas cards made yesterday and since I am moving slow I may make the second batch today. grammadee I am so glad you had a nice visit and even got a lot of your shopping done. Well its been quiet over the weekend so hope someone gets lively on here later today. Oh I got some photos Saturday I may get scrapped since I already printed them

Hi PokeyPeas, I had a great time at my crop on Saturday, and I used my time to sort almost 200 photos and start a Disney album. I'm going to use my time over the next couple of weeks (before the next crop) to cut titles and make page kits. And to work on my Christmas cards. LisaDV, did his pants fit? scrapincin, I think we all love getting new prints to play with. Do you know how you're going to scrap them yet? Sometimes I know as soon as I see them, and other times I can stare at them for days and still have no clue. Ha!

Hello Sweet Friends! This has been a crazy, busy weekend. I don't know how I can be so busy when I'm supposed to be retired! I have started my Christmas cards, but just started. I am much lazier than all of you who make lots of different designs. I find that I spend too much time deciding who gets which, so now I just make a huge batch of matching cards and send them out. I won't post them because you will see them when they are mailed. Nothing fancy, but I'm enjoying them. LisaDV, when I read the boys are pheasant hunting, the smell of scalding the pheasants in the kitchen came to my nostrils again! Funny how you can remember some smells...FOREVER! We also lived on lots of ducks and dad smoked some of them in his smoker. I hope the pj pants fit and that you get everything done on your list this week. scrapincin, I can't wait to see more of you pages. Getting the photos printed is half the battle. Congrats on doing your first batch of cards. You always do such beautiful ones. Are the grands getting excited for the Holidays? Lyssa and Ash each have birthdays this month so Nov and Dec are their favorites! msliz, I envy you doing a Disney album. That is my all time favorite thing to scrap. I could do an album every year, but we don't get to go often. I have probably been for the last time with youngest DD and family 2 years ago. It sounds like you also have lots of other things to scrap. You will be kept busy at your crops for a long time. I'm glad you got the prints organized at the crop. @elaynef, I sounds like you are very well organized for your trip and will get to do some visiting too. Be sure to take lots of photos. I hope you have good weather for the trip. grammadee, so glad to know that you are home safe and sound. You are pretty brave to be out traveling alone in snowy weather. Glad you were able to get the kids' Christmas presents. It really helps if you can spend some time around them to see what they enjoy. Good luck with your new Oxide ink! justjac, I hope things slow down a bit for you this month. I have loved the stories on your layouts. You are a wonderful storyteller! So don't quit scrapping this month! kellyr21, missing you. I'm sure you are a busy bee. Drop in when you get a moment. Hope you are having crafty fun! Have a great week, everyone.

Hey all and happy November! Hope you all are having a nice November so far. I hope to get all my Christmas cards and other items done this month for my business along with just routine life stuff. Thanks for thinking about me. Just got some other priorities now.
I will pop in when I can and hopefully be settled back next month. I will be participating in the Pokey Pea card exchange and that will be fun.
Hugs to you all!

Hello Pokeys! Yes nylene my November has slowed down a bit. Of course winter is truly here, enough snow to cover everything and temperatures around ten degrees below freezing. Yesterday was Glitter Night at the local shopping mall. It's a fundraiser for local non-profits and there were some discounts. I started my Christmas shopping and bought myself some pretty blue boots. Both DH and I have a four day weekend this weekend and we're so looking forward to it. No big plans just hitting a craft fair, doing some errands, hopefully getting crafty. I want to work on Christmas cards like the rest if you! Have a great day.

Good evening, Pokeys. Good to hear you are crafty busy, kellyr21. And that everyone is working away on their holiday cards. I hope to get back into that on Monday when I have someone coming over to play. Got some Elizabeth Crafts dies and some outline stickers (mostly Christmas greetings) in the mail this week so I should be all set. Glad your November has settled down, justjac. The craft show sounds fun, but although we will be in town on Saturday, we will be attending my aunt's 90th bd party and spending time with family. Did you get your pages done, scrapincin? Looking forward to seeing them. I got quite a bit done on my reunion album on Sunday and actually got a couple of pages done with photos from my trip, but that all came to a crashing halt Sunday night. I periodically get hit with an abdominal issue where my digestive system grinds to a stop causing nausea and pain. Ended up going into the ER Monday morning, and they kept me over in the hospital until today. The treatment is usually morphine and gravol, and while it works, it also knocks the stuffing out of me. I was released today and am home, trying to gradually get back to eating solid food. The pages I started on Sunday just need journaling, so I hope to finish them tomorrow and then I can post. Need to start using my camera for that b/c my iPhone's memory is completely full. Took 60 photos off it the last two days, but it still won't take a photo.
