Sewing/crafty peas - do any of you have suggestions for bibs for an 8 year old special needs child? He lives in a home for disabled children and enjoys going out in the community. But he wears awful white baby looking bibs like you get in a hospital. I would love to see this young boy have bibs that blend in with his clothes and allow him some dignity. They should be absorbent though not necessarily terry cloth.
I wonder if any group would take on something like this? These are what came to mind when I read your post. They could be made with bandanas to look older.

Well,
I did finish the mermaid tail in time. I started it on Monday and had it ready for pick up on Wednesday. I forgot to snap a pic as I literally finished weaving the ends 10 minutes before my daughter came to pick it and me up. it came out cute using the blue/green Red Heart Unforgettable yarn. I also made a little bra that had sea shells to cover.
I have not had a chance to do anything that's not business related. I did 300+ personalized elves. About 40 stockings, just the personalization, not the stockings. Some personalized bears, snowmen and pot holders.
i can't get the pictures resized and don't have time to play with them. I HAVE to get my tree up today and shop tomorrow. Where did the time go?

Just ordered my yarn for the Woodland CAL. I am hoping it arrives in time. The beautiful colors hooked me. Fingers crossed it arrives in time jeremysgirl I have to wait until Christmas day to find out if Santa has brought my yarn for this or I’m ordering it myself 😊

JoP, just to let you know I looked at it two weeks ago and it was more expensive. They brought the price down. It didn't say it was on sale but I was glad for the savings.

Ooh thanks for the tip jeremysgirl did you order from Wool Warehouse? Yes. Two weeks ago it was L27. And today it was L22. So I paid just under $30 for it.

I finally finished this cardigan I started in September. It is made with Malabrigo Rios yarn in color Candombe. It's hand dyed yarn and the colors varied so much in what was supposedly the same dye lot that I had to keep alternating yarns throughout the pieces. Still the back is more black, the sleeves are more blue/green and the front is more purple. Other photos are on this blog post: Winter Cardigan

I got it too. Looking at the leaflet that came with the kit I'm thinking of doing the blanket as multiple repeats of the main picture ( the 15 colours) rather than the varied pattern on the back of the leaflet. The "rainbow" effect appeals to me much more. Rebel, me!!

Yes that’s the one wellway - do what makes you happy 😁 I’ve struggled with ripples so this may be another Hydrangea stitch if I get too frustrated - yes another rebel here in Wales 🏴 I had two of the Apres Ski yarn kits from Black Sheep Wools for Christmas so for a newbie crocheter I’ve got lots of projects

I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. A few hours later, I got a fraud alert from my bank. It appears my bank doesn't like me ordering stuff from the UK. Lol! I finally got through to someone at my bank yesterday and they gave me permission that I needed to order my yarn. So I'm probably starting off rather behind. But the girl from the bank was so nice and we chatted while she was fixing my account. Turns out she likes to crochet and had never heard of Attic 24 or Wool Warehouse. She said she was going to give them a look.

wellway and JoP, I plan to do the rainbow instead of the random as well. That was one of the things that really appealed to me about this one.

I wasn't very productive in December. I did make this scarf for my son. Next year, I want to crochet a few children's blankets to donate to Project Linus. That's my goal Attachments:

I wonder if any group would take on something like this? When my kids were toddlers one of my friends gifted me bibs that were made out of kitchen towels. She cut a hole in them and sewed ribbing around like a t shirt has. Over the head they went and they we're so big and awesome for a messy toddler. I made some like that for DD out of decorative hand towels when she outgrew the baby sized bibs we had. They worked great because they were large and they covered more of her clothes, plus they were very absorbent.

Would you mind sharing the pattern and yarn you used? My brother is a huge A&M fan so I think he would really like this. I really like both sides of the pattern, which is rare.

Beautiful crafts everyone! I love all the crochet pieces. I haven't crocheted anything in several years and my skill set is very limited, mostly chain and single and double crochet, LOL. I am making a weighted blanket for my DD. Hopefully it will help her sleep. I started out to make her a flannel quilt and then decided to make it weighted, then a friend suggested to make the blanket separately and us the flannel like a duvet cover so it can be laundered. (Duh! Why didn't I think of that?) I just finished getting the weighted blanket sewn, now to try to get the cover done without her seeing it, she comes home from college in 2 days. I am also working on a flannel throw quilt (45x60ish) for DS and I have the squares cut to make DH a denim and flannel throw quilt. I am going to have to get my machine smoking to get it all done. How did the weighted blanket turn out? Would you mind sharing where you found the directions? I need one and they are so dang expensive!

The yarn is Lion Brand Woolspun in Charcoal and Claret (maroon coloured). It works up nicely and doesn't take too long

You ladies have really motivated me! I have many projects that I have already purchased the pattern, yarn and needles for that I keep intending to make as Christmas gifts. I'm starting right now, for next year.

Sorry I only share Instagram pictures as that's the easiest thing for me to do. I have barely touched my needles this month. I am currently catching up on my temperature scarf and will share the finished product next month. Once that's done, I'm starting my big cross stitch project and will get busy creating more stuff for a big craft show in May. http://instagr.am/p/Bc2yEt9Hrw2 http://instagr.am/p/Bc41C4Rny2B My youngest got a 3-D printer. He made me a snowflake!

The body of my Hotel of Bees is done! Just a few ends to weave in and the finishing edge to do, so if I'm really good I might actually be able to get it finished by the end of the year
