I'm dying to see what holiday projects everyone's been working on. The search function on this board leads me exactly nowhere.

I'd have to actually get my tush into the sewing room and make something in order to share here. Perhaps the others are busy creating and will share soon? What have you been working on?

I've been trying to finish this one in time for Christmas. It's for my sister.

I'm working on those cute little yarn hat ornaments, very therapeutic.

I'm wanting to make crocheted snowflakes for Christmas gifts but having trouble learning how to do a magic ring or magic circle. I've watched YouTube videos frame by frame but for some reason it isn't working for me.

I don’t think I’m going to get a chance to make anything for the holidays this year but I’m really looking forward to seeing what everyone else makes. The wooden items in the two posts above look really professional and I love the colour of your yarn jeremysgirl. Every now and then I do a row or so on my Navajo blanket but that’s all I can manage right now.

I've watched YouTube videos frame by frame but for some reason it isn't working for me. I struggle with the magic ring too. I finally found one video that made it so simple but I’ve not done it often enough since to get it to stick in my brain. If I can find the video again, I’ll link for you.

I already posted the scrubbies I made for my sister. I made a hat for my granddaughter because it’s getting cold and she needed one. She was a less than cooperative model.

Thanks jeremysgirl. I’m not sure I’ll use Caron cake style yarn again I’m not a fan of the abrupt colour changes - my cousin is not expecting it and she’ll be thrilled as she sews brilliantly but cannot do anything with yarn 🙂

I'm crocheting a very simple triangle shawl (I'm obsessed with shawls!!) After my last two projects I needed something that was just easy.

I've made two small quilts for cats...yes, elderly cats! Their owner will get a kick out of it, which is why I did it.
Also have been obsessed with making bowls. Using scraps of fabric wrapped around cotton clothesline, then zigzag on the sewing machine. Very addicting! I wrap the fabric while watching TV and 30 minutes later, I'm making a bowl!

Ooh lovely thanks melrose I have lots of jelly roll quilting strips do you think that would work? Also I’m in the UK and not sure what you mean when you say cotton clothesline - could you pretty please post a picture or link?

lainey how simple is your easy shawl? I’d love to try one but I keep putting it off ☺️ It's this one Shawl The pattern is really simple once you get into a rhythm with it, it's simple increases on both sides and grows quickly. You could always use the first part of the pattern to get the shape and omit the stripes (I don't do puff stitches so I'm leaving those out) This will be the third one I've made, it's my go to 'just hooking without having to constantly read a pattern' pattern.

Yes, a jelly roll would be perfect...cut in 3/4 inch wide strips for easier wrapping. You don't want any bulkiness. THIS is the rope. Just make sure the rope doesn't have any plastic in it. 60 percent polypropylene/40 percent cotton and 3/16 thick is best. HERE is a good tutorial. I don't use the glue, but you could. Have fun! It's addicting!

Thank you melrose for the link, the tips, and the tutorial. Not sure I’ll get my sewing machine out before Christmas but would make a good project for the new year
