Maybe the company sold. Either that or a poor revenue stream would explain why they weren’t fixing the website or restocking. Seems like they need to move their announcement up with all these resignations. Wonder if people are frantically trying to stock up with items on their wishlists and also use up their reward points. I’d buy white cardstock if I didn’t already have a foot of it. They say they are going to continue on though. I think sales must definitely be down. There are so many more stamp companies in the market than there were 10-12 years ago when PTI first started. And without a creative like Nichole at the helm? The new designer Kara Yoder was an interesting choice because some of her designs look as unlike PTI as you can imagine. Given other really strong companies like MFT, Mama Elephant, Concord & 9th, Reverse Confetti, Neat & Tangled etc I'm just not sure how PTI will do going forward given its best designers are gone.

Yeah selling would make sense rather than Julie at the helm. She won’t have many of the old patient team members putting out fires and making excuses for all the head office missteps. I also am interested in this Kara Yoder hire though. That’s really different. Maybe they will surprise with a whole new look or else the new owners will.

I wonder if they're going to turn into a site that sells stuff from multiple vendors, like Simon Says Stamp. In a way, it would make sense...they could increase their sales without having to come up with so many new designs. Remains to be seen if people would buy from them though, given all the other options there are.

Whatever happened to Erin Lincoln? She created and designed several unique products for PTI, then in 2017 she only released a few and I don't think she released anything in 2018/2019? I still have the book she wrote under Creating Keepsakes. She is definitely talented.
I was a monthly purchaser from PTI for years and years. Probably 2010-2015. Then their style changed and I branched out some, but I do think they have nice floral stamps. I love their new blog and all the content they post. I never received anything less than outstanding customer service from PTI but I know a lot of people had issues.

I think Erin Lincoln left cardmaking. She never posted again after she left PTI. I am thinking that she had a severe health problem something like rheumatoid arthritis or some immune disease. I think I remember her posting about it. She had fairly young children. I’m pretty sure she is the one who left for that reason. I slowed down buying from them when Laura Bassem left. She has done really well with other companies. By the time Nichole left I was only buying paper. I never had CS issues with them either but I have a friend who did. I’ll be surprised if they survive but I don’t know how deep their pockets are. The cardstock is still great. Maybe that keeps them afloat.

Somebody got their January order and they dropped the plastic box and the stick on label. The image is on the clear packaging like every other company now. One change for good anyway.

I hope they also change mailing orders in bubble envelopes rather than in a box with tissue paper and the plastic bubble wrap. My latest PTI order came in a box when it could have easily come in a bubble envelope. I am trying to buy a few of the stamps and dies from my wishlist before Feb but it is hard because a lot of what I want is out of stock.

With regard to restocking: I recall reading somewhere that there was a computer failure of some sort that caused them to lose the master files for a bunch of their dies, which I think is why so many remain out of stock. Now, why they and the manufacturer didn't have a bunch of backup files is another question, but I think that's the situation with those.

I was wrong about the packaging. Apparently they are just using up the last of the clear boxes so some are getting those, others not. They are still using the labels, not printing the image on the clear sheet like other companies. I think more stuff is going out in mailers instead of boxes though.
Yeah they just have so many mishaps. I remember when they had to reformulate their inks twice. People were stuck with inkpads and reinkers that were not so hot. Then it happened again. Luckily their stamps were a hot ticket so they survived. They gave no refunds on either ink meltdown. Then they changed die manufacturers and the new dies left grey shadows on the paper so they returned to their old supplier. That’s when I stopped buying stamps and dies. They were recommending putting the dies through the dishwasher. Their website has been wobbly for years. They have so many problems that other stamp companies just don’t have.

I came back to check in on this thread and surprised to see so many designers jumping ship. It makes me sad, I have so many PTI stamps and dies that I use over and over. Their cs and inks are my go-tos. Not looking forward to this "big announcement".

I had the original set of ink pads. They went mouldy, that’s why they had to reformulate them. They offered no replacements or compensation. I had about a dozen inkpads that lasted maybe a year. I stopped buying from them soon after that, although I did like their products. They were my first venture out of SU, but I went back to SU inks and Cardstock after that.

They reformulated twice with no refunds. They were still pretty hot at that point and there was much less competition. I don’t know of any other stamp company that has had as many mishaps and kept going.
Someone on the forum said they thought the designers were probably shown the future of the company and didn’t see it as viable for them so they resigned. It would explain them all leaving at the same time. All will be revealed February 1. They have a hard time with follow through so maybe the reveal will be as slow in coming as the new website. Hero Arts just came out with a new line of cardstock. Even if it’s pricier I’ll go with them in the basic neutrals that I use.

I see everything is 15% off on the website. No major announcement yet, though. I am tempted to buy some paper and ink to stock up but then don’t want to find out they are closing and not be able to restock down the road.

Wow, have they had sales like that before? I remember seeing some cute dies that I liked but never ordered. Maybe I'll check them out again.

I can’t get excited about 15% off. Actually, sales like that are annoying to me. Just a pet peeve. They make it sound like such a savings. Nope not to me.

They were supposed to make a big announcement about the company’s future but just announced a sale and that there would be no Feb release. There was a really bizarre video. I couldn’t even finish watching it. Looked like it was filmed in someone’s basement. They say they will keep on with paper and ink. Their cardstock is always a good deal. If I bought ink from them I would buy reinkers. It smells like a liquidation to me but who knows. I’m always predicting their demise and I’m always wrong. Their business strategy has been a mystery to me since Nicole left.

I agree that 15% is a joke but I didn't think they ever had sales at all. I guess I was wrong though.

A year or so ago they had a high percent off sale on paper. It was enough that I bought over a foot of cardstock with free shipping. It’s pretty much a once a year deal on any sales but since their cardstock is good and reasonable to begin with it’s kind of worth it. I didn’t bite on this sale but I was tempted. I’ll miss the paper price if they go out of business

I’m looking for an envelope liner die and saw that they have one for $15. What is the quality of their dies like? I would be using it very often—are they durable?

I like it because it is a solid die. I have had it about a year and use it a lot. I used to use their envelopes but now buy them at Amazon. This die is right for both envelopes. Unless they have changed their supplier I would say it works perfectly. I looked at one from Altenew. It was not solid had a couple of additional dies in the center that I didn’t need and was more expensive.

Papertrey will be selling wholesale. I guess that is based on someone saying they were looking for two account managers in two states. Somebody saw it on a job site. Not sure how that would work. No job offerings for designers has been spotted.

No job offerings for designers has been spotted. Well, where is that info from, I wonder? There's no listing for account mangers on their website, but there is a posting for a product designer and a part time web designer.

It does. Not very well written job description. If you can drive and pack a box you are hired. Minimum wage max.
