But “shithole countries” doesn’t even get a mention. Business as usual! he probably used Norway as his example because it was the only other country he could remember the name of, having just met with the prime minister! (after he learned what the name of it actually IS, of course... he called it Nor-May at first)

Usually by claiming the women are more passive, submissive, feminine, attractive, traditional, than American women. We shouldn't counter his ignorance with false information. Oh its not that I don't think there were NO Norwegian immigrants coming here. I'm a permanent resident Australian, so I know people do leave countries like that and come here. Just that I kind of doubt they are clamoring to come here in the numbers that the said "shithole countries" are. |

Ann Coulter (blech) & Tucker Carlson have been going after him this week since he started saying he'd support a DACA deal. Someone in his office may think this will get them off his back.

Yesterday I read a quote by one of the big Fox News personalities - forget his name. He was criticizing President Trump for backing down on immigration. He claimed immigration puts everybody in the country at risk.
THEN he claimed that Democrats just want to bring people here for their votes. (Apparently he either doesn't know how long it takes to become a citizen or he believes all the malarkey about noncitizens voting....and how will the immigrants know they're supposed to vote Democratic? Argh.)
This is what our country has come to: treating immigration, which is the pillar of American development, as a danger and ploy to get Democratic votes. Both are considered evil and unAmerican.
Yup, immigration is unAmerican.

It makes me cry for the kids who I was a sub for today. Third grade. In that one class we happened to have quite a few from shithole countries -- several Central Americans, one from Tunisia (dark-skinned, not light skinned like trump would prefer -- Tunisia does have both), one from Ethiopia, and one from Mongolia, along with various shades of Americans. (and actually, some of the "shithole" country kids might be Americans, but their parents are all immigrants). Hard-working parents....often working three jobs between the two of them. Kids are sweet, mostly work hard (there are always kids in any group who would rather not...lol).  That's all my classes, all day every day. And I'd far rather have boatloads of them than even one Trump. ETA: the ending of Salvadoran immigrants' protected status will likely affect a LOT of my students, and potentially hurt rebuilding after Harvey as something like 20% of our construction workforce is estimated to be Salvadoran immigrants. |

HE Does NOT care! For some reason I think he has a deeply embedded hate for people of color or rather people who look different from him. Something happened to him ..
