The problem with using words casually and jokingly means that over time, the power and meaning of that word can lessen the meaning, which in turn, lessens the seriousness of the crime in people's minds.
Does he seriously think that the act of treason is a joking matter, I hope not! If he doesn't then why use the word so casually.

Fortunately, the constitution - not Trump or the GOP - explicitly defines treason. Not that Trump has ever read the document.

Not just those literally standing in front of him, but those the message is trying to reach. In other words, his base. There is no question he has been very divisive, words like this from him are just making it worse. He knows that, he wants that and it's incredibly irresponsible.

I am just so fucking scared. I wake up every morning, drink some coffee, and get on my computer...and I hate to say it, but every morning I have to brace myself up to even read the news. Was Hawaii bombed yet? Has the stock market crashed? Are we in a nuclear war today? Are people actually going to build a WALL to keep others out? I never had this kind of fear/trepidation when Mr. Obama was President. Or even when Mr. Bush was President. And somehow, some people are okay with this. I just feel so insecure.

oh, what- now they're trying to spin it as if it was a JOKE and he didn't really MEAN it?!? I cannot stand their spin machine; how can those people live with themselves?? it's a joke as it wasn't received well (by many). If it was better received it would become a frequent talking point for Mr has-no-real-agenda other than to enrich himself. mudbugs I know what you mean. Every time there is "breaking news" and tv/radio is interrupted I immediately think/say "oh. #$%!" then when relief comes when we (or others) will live another day. And in the last year there seems to have been more breaking-in news that ever. Crazy-town.

I’m starting to question whether a good portion of the GOP - namely every single one of them that hasn’t denounced this - has read it either. I’m willing to pay for and mail a t-shirt to every RefuPea who proudly wore a Deplorable shirt that says “I Don’t Understand the Constitutional Definition of Treason and Am Proud of It!” Pm me your name and address and I’ll get it out to you. I will also share your pea-name here, but not any of the specifics (won’t share your real name nor address).

Great Scott, I surely hope no Refupea was so wrong thinking as to actually wear a Deplorable shirt. Even most of the conservative Peas understand Trump's 'joking' isn't right and would hope that the checks & balances would kick in before presidential standing, saluting, clapping becomes mandatory if that was really his wish.

That statement was exponentially more offensive than the Deplorables statement. Where are all those Hillary Haters now? Why aren’t they equally, if not more, offended and screaming as loudly as they did about the cherry-picked portion of Hillary’s comment? Calling a portion of Trump’s supporters “deplorable” = an incredibly offensive statement, worthy of eliminating one from the presidential race Calling United States Congresspeople who don’t stand and applaud Trump “treasonous” = a-okay! I did speak out against it.

And now we find out that actual collusion between the FBI, Justice Dept, HRC campaign, DNC, and the Obama White House to keep Trump out of the White House using a Russian dossier. We have found out no such thing. I probably should have worded that better. It was a sloppy, angry attempt at saying the texts and facts and such are SUGGESTING there was collusion between FBI, Justice Dept, HRC campaign, DNC, and the Obama White House to keep Trump out of the White House using a Russian dossier. This should bother everyone as much as the possibility of Trump doing it. It shouldn't matter which side your on.

Because if there’s something politicians love to do, it’s take money away from the education budget to pay for other things they deem more important.

Referring to Sara Huckabee sanders comments of “clearly he’s joking”
He’s not.
He keeps saying it, tweeting it, elaborating on the tweets, name calling anyone who is not in agreement with him over it, and has belittled people over it.
He of all people, as well as his staff, know that his words matter.
He is purposely divisive, hateful, and a liar.
He knows that what he says creates messes and has people outraged, but he does not care.
And he should.
The world is watching and he is making a mockery of the office of potus, and paving the way for China to be the leader of the world!

Don't post a tweet complete devoid from FACTS: "Cost to provide housing for every homeless veteran in America (40,000): $24.7 million" and pretend that it makes a point. It feeds the same ignorance and lack of critical thinking that frankly allowed Trump to be elected. We need to stop relying on memes and tweets and sensational "alternative facts" that have absolutely no basis in reality.

And where does the money come from to pay for that parade? It's insanity. Hasn't he asked for increased military budgets? Not really. With sequestration still in place, the ongoing conflicts overseas, and no budget/continuing resolutions, so far the "we're rebuilding our military" is mostly smoke and mirrors. Although there was a bigger military pay increase.
