Knowing how inappropriate he is in situations with no ability to filter himself, it's probably a good thing he had notes, but as a previous poster already said, it's ridiculous and unbelievable that the notes had to remind him to be empathetic and compassionate.

I don’t give two shits about that stuff. What really bothers me is that he shows more emotion and ACTION over his damn Inaugural Attendance than 17 people being killed in a fricking school!!! What really bothers me is that he HAS NOT divested of his businesses and is using his position to benefit himself. He has basically flipped the bird at any ethical boundaries. The majority of people here care more about these things than what Melania wore or how the White House is decorated. I am really sick and tired of you lumping us all in the same pot. Like tired AF of it! I'm not lumping ANYONE in the same pot. I see the THINGS like those listed above that people get upset about enough to make threads about as ridiculous. I see the outrage over this taking notes thing as ridiculous as those listed above. This has nothing to do with singling anyone out or grouping anyone together. It has nothing to do with people, it's about MY opinion on the absurdity of these SUBJECTS to be bothered by. We disagree on the interpretation that having a talking point written down means you do not know how to do... whatever the subject of the talking point is. We'll never agree on that, so there's not much else to say. So what’s to you. A case could be made that half of the threads on this board meet the criteria you laid out above. The way I see it if folks want to start threads on topics that I personally see as ridiculous, so what. Nothing is forcing me to read them and I don’t. So why do you feel the need to come on these threads you call ridiculous and ridicule the people commenting on them? Do you think it’s your duty to let people know you think their subject is absurd? I find it bizarre for someone to think it’s acceptable on a public message board, with all kind of topics, to act as the “topic” police and let others know she thinks their topic is absurd. Especially when it’s not an inappropriate/sicko subject. It shows a lack of tolerance for things that don’t fall in line with your opinion. Sometimes its best to keep your opinions to yourself. And that’s my opinion.

If anyone is acting as "police" here, that would you telling me not to give my opinion.

Again. The problem isn’t the notes. It is having to be reminded to be empathetic that is he problem. Again. Notes remind you of the words you want to make sure don't get lost in the evolution of conversation. They in no way mean you have to be told to be empathetic. I disagree with the interpretation that in the past he's had to be reminded to be empathetic, but I could be wrong, can you give an example of a time when he's had to be reminded? When an expert on say... retirement planning, writes down all the points he wants to cover at the dinner he's hosting to teach people the way to plan for retirement, it most certainly doesn't mean he needs to reminded to teach people. It just means he doesn't want to forget ANY of the points in the evolution of the conversation. To suggest notes mean he needs to be reminded to teach is absurd. That applies to Trump too. I just got home from work and don’t have time to make a list of all examples, but one that is on the top of my head is when he thre paper towels at hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.

Oh for the love of donuts people. True leaders don't need those types of freaking notes.
I've have prepared talking points for politicians on every level of business and government. I've NEVER had to prepare anything even close to what is on that piece of paper. No. No. No.
