GOP to spend $250M to try to keep control of HouseBY MALLORY SHELBOURNE - 04/16/18 07:33 AM EDT The Republican National Committee (RNC) is investing $250 million in an extensive field strategy aimed at retaining the GOP House majority in the upcoming midterm elections, The Associated Press reported Monday. “Our No. 1 priority is keeping the House. We have to win the House,” Juston Johnson, the committee’s political director, told the AP. “That is the approach we took to put the budget together.” The plan is particularly directed at House seats in Florida, New York and California, the AP said. Staff for the committee over the weekend participated in training for 1,600 volunteers in 200 events across the country, it added. The push comes as both parties gear up for November’s midterm elections. Democrats have to flip 24 seats in the fall in order to take the House. thehill.com/homenews/campaign/383311-rnc-to-spend-250-million-to-try-to-keep-control-of-houseSo much money. There has got to be another way. How can we get our campaigns to weeks instead of years...... Short like the UK an dI am sure other places too.

does Sean Hannity still have a job? he really shouldn't-- if things were fair, which I know they're not... but on any other network, he would have beed CANNED already.
ETA: wait a minute- how about this? one of the comments on an article about the Cohen / Hannity connection suggested a 'what if' scenario- what if the Hannity thing was manufactured, to hide whoever the REAL third client is?!? hmmm...

"Boston hedge fund billionaire Seth Klarman lavished more than $7 million on Republican candidates and political committees during the Obama administration, using his fortune to help underwrite a GOP takeover of the federal government. But the rise of Donald Trump shocked and dismayed Klarman, as did the timid response from the Republican-controlled House and Senate, which have acquiesced rather than challenge the president’s erratic and divisive ways. So, in an astonishing flip, Klarman, at one point New England’s most generous donor to Republicans, is taking his money elsewhere: He’s heaping cash on Democrats.... “I received a tax cut I neither need nor want,” said Klarman, who Forbes estimates is worth $1.5 billion. “I’m choosing to invest it to fight the administration’s flawed policies and to elect Democrats to the Senate and House of Representatives.” " www.bostonglobe.com/news/politics/2018/04/14/era-donald-trump-new-england-biggest-gop-donor-funding-democrats/QzyFs3i3Yq3o6Ae7QIkhVP/story.html

Well, he is a commentator rather than a news reporter. They constantly repeat that the "personality" shows are commentary and opinion. So, I think he may be good. Just interesting to see he is not commenting from outside the crime group. Unfortunately his base doesn’t know the different between (his) opinion and fact.

Such fun........ Fortunately a NJ tax change helped me a bit this year! Poll: More say GOP tax law is bad idea than good ideaBY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 04/17/18 10:04 AM EDT More people say the GOP tax law is a bad idea than those who say it is a good idea, according to a new poll. An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds just 27 percent of adults think the GOP tax law is a good idea. A plurality, 36 percent, think the law is a bad idea. The remainder, 34 percent, said they did not have an opinion on the law. That is down slightly from the 30 percent of respondents in January who said they thought the law was a good idea. The recent poll finds that just 6 percent of Democrats think the tax law is a good idea, but a majority of Republicans, 56 percent, think it is a good idea. The recent poll also finds that a majority, 53 percent, think the tax law will have a negative impact on the economy. Just 39 percent think it will have a positive impact, such as creating a stronger economy and more jobs. ** According to the report, the tax law would cost the government $2.3 trillion in revenues, but economic growth would offset that figure by about $461 billion. ** thehill.com/policy/finance/383498-poll-more-say-gop-tax-law-is-bad-idea-than-good-idea

I don't think she stuck her neck out, I think she was repeating the WH talking points. Either Trump changed his mind, or he didn't know about them in the first place. I don't have much love for Nikki Haley, but good lord. She is worlds better than her boss. Of course, I guess that really isn't saying much.

Sort of off the topic of politics....
MSNBC....
“BREAKING: Southwest plane makes emergency landing at Philadelphia Airport after reportedly depressurizing mid-flight.
The father of a female passenger said she was partially sucked out of the plane, but then pull backed by other passengers, WCAU reports.”
This would be my absolute nightmare in a plane. OMG!

More about the woman almost sucked out of a plane from the Hill...
“A Southwest Airlines plane bound for Dallas on Tuesday was forced to make an emergency landing in Philadelphia after a broken window caused the aircraft to depressurize, NBC10 reported.
According to the report, a portion of the engine flew into and broke a window, causing a woman on the plane to be partly pulled out of the aircraft.
"One passenger, a woman, was partially ... was drawn out towards the out of the plane ... was pulled back in by other passengers," Todd Baur, a father of one of the plane's passengers, told the NBC affiliate.
The woman was reportedly sent to a hospital in Philadelphia after the plane landed at Philadelphia International.”
OMG again!

MSNBC...
“Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow says Amb. Haley's "got ahead of the curve" and there might have been some "momentary confusion" for comments about additional Russian sanctions that the Trump admin. says will not be enforced.”
That confusion starts at the top.

Rebecca Ballhaus....
“The Trump campaign appears to be covering Keith Schiller’s legal fees, paying $66,000 in January to Schertler & Onorato, the law firm representing Schiller in the Russia probe, per FEC filings.
Meanwhile, the RNC has paid Keith Schiller’s security firm $90,000 since last fall.”
I had to look Schiller up as there are so many. He is the ex trump bodyguard. So those who donate to the trump campaign are paying the legal fees of an ex bodyguard. Somehow I don’t think they had that in mind when they donated.

Am I the only one who think that Nikki Haley will enter the presidential race in 2020 . She’s fooling herself if she thinks she’ll get traction. She’s permanently stained herself by working for Trump. He’s like a reverse King Midas: everything he touches turns to fecal matter.
