what is that even like inside of the house? that's my dream and nightmare all at the same time. LOL Very comfortable to me, as I prefer being cool. Not tepid, cool. I also take tepid to lukewarm showers and have to keep the door open or I get dizzy. And the cold rinse for my hair at the end feels great. It's just a tad cooler than DH would keep it on his own so he sometimes puts a sweatshirt on over his t-shirt and shorts if we are just laying around downstairs for long periods of time. Especially on our leather couches. I also keep it very dark so if a dry cave sounds appealing to you come on over My hands are always cold though, but they often are anyway with Raynaud's. It does make it harder to adjust when you go outside, but I'm an indoor girl during the summer (it's Texas...so most of the year) so that's not much of an issue. And my sunglasses immediately fog up as soon as I open the front door. On the other hand, when you come home, it's 105* outside with a dew point of 76, you'll think you've entered heaven when you open the door. Do you think it’s your Raynauds causing you to not tolerate heat well? Or have you always been this way? I’m having lots of problems with dizziness and high body temperature and trying to figure it out. Thanks!

I’m having lots of problems with dizziness and high body temperature and trying to figure it out. Thanks! I don't think so. I also have hypothyroidism and a symptom is that people get cold easily. I wish. I'm in the market for a new Rheumatologist so this is not from my doctor but I've read in many places it may be the fibromyalgia. There is a lot of false info about it on the internet though so take that with a grain of salt. Or a shaker. Now, long before fibro was an issue, even as a child I was always "hot blooded" in culottes (hey, they were cool and shorts weren't allowed in school) when others were bundled up in long pants, shirts and coats. I've never liked hot showers and I've never liked heat. But it wasn't an intolerance like it is now. My body temp is actually on the low side though, my normal is below 98, has been my entire life. But I get hot super easy, and when I am I feel weak and dizzy frequently, and it takes a lot to cool me down and it takes a while to do it. After a shower I often have to lay down nekkid for 30 minutes. The opposite is not true for any of this with cold temperatures. I am very overweight, but these extreme symptoms did not hit until after a decade of being this size. The only other thing I've seen that it might be, but again haven't discussed it with my endocrinologist, is one of my most recent blood tests. I can't remember the name of it so I will post this and then go grab that info for you. eta: I have had a recurring benign tumor on my pituitary gland. That particular type of tumor hasn't come back, but I have a repeated blood test result (IGF-1) and about a billion symptoms that suggests a different kind might have on the same gland. (Acromegaly). They're rare, but that's how my life works. Some of the symptoms are weakness, faintness and dizziness. My endocrinologist will check for this at the next visit. And now that I think about it, I don't know if heat intolerance is a symptom, I think it is exercise intolerance so very likely not something you even need to consider considering eta: The recurring dizziness is slightly worrying. I'd see a doctor for that alone. One of the things they were concerned about with me is my heart but that baby has been checked in so many ways including tons of EKGs, blood tests (CPR plus some I don't remember), echocardiogram, stress test, Holter monitor, even a heartCT so that was ruled out. When I fainted the other major concern both from the EMTs (I was at a race as a spectator) and at the ER (was at home before colonoscopy so my gastroenterologist sent me there) was my blood sugar level. At the ER they also did a chest X-ray. Sorry, I just realize I did sort of a "brain dump" of all the issues and thoughts and experience I've had with the subject, thought you could weed through it and decide what, if any of it, might apply to you so you could take it to your doctor. It's scary and miserable so I hope you figure it out soon!

OP, have you thought about a swamp cooler as an option? That’s what I was going to suggest, a portable swamp/evaporative cooler. It wouldn’t require window-alteration. The haze here does make pretty sunsets, but it’s pollution (usually wildfire smoke) that stagnates on us this time of year. The “hot weeks” here are miserable! But before you know it, we’ll have the rain to whine about again
