Eh up ducks! I'm here Ooh Chinagirl828 competitive spirit eh? Now that cards are over for a bit I'm going to aim for some pages where I can score more than 4 points for 6 hours work! I do have a question: this month I will be making proper cards with paper and stuff (whoo!), a couple of which have been designed in October or earlier. Can I count them again and how do I count them? For example, if I put proper Nuvo Drops on a card can I claim a point?

JaneB if you make it during november, count it for november. and yes, nuvos (or any other challenge item) will count as a point, providing there is a challenge for them (i haven't gotten that far yet this morning) Chinagirl828 for shame! wishing heartache and loss on poor kiwigirl!

hello all - I do hope my mojo returns this month - it disappeared completely in mid-October

I know what you mean Linda, towards the end there I was just pinching ideas from everyone else! I have to admit it's true what they say: do something daily and you do get better at it, like exercising the creative muscle. I've spent the day mocking up a template from one of the Sketchy Saturdays to fit my photobook size, watching crafty videos, filing some graphics away and doing the accounts. It's been quite relaxing - must tidy all the challenge projects into appropriate folders and do a file backup. Ooh look, it's almost time for afternoon tea!

Good morning Ladies! Hope we have a stinkin' good time! I hope to finish my Christmas cards and NEED to finish my Florida album. Shooting for 30 pages and 30 cards this month. Hope you brought your winning juju with you, Chinagirl828! Not sure kiwi's girls won in October, though: the Booboppers have some crazy high scores!

i never care who wins (although yes, it's nice) i just hope we all have a nice time. looks like we have some good challenges this month, so that's a start!
i'm off to work soon and i'm not off until 7:00 tonight, so i probably won't even venture into my scrappy space. i work at 7 a.m. tomorrow so i have to get to bed at a relatively decent hour. i have a new raskog-type cart i'm dying to fill up, but the space i'm going to put it in is currently occupied by a big box of old stash for a friend and i have nowhere else to put it...so my cart might stay empty for a bit until i figure that out. my space is a disaster from the last minute flurry of activity. i have crap laying everywhere.
are you a neat or messy scrapper? some things i put away after each use, like my tweezers or any sort of mixed media stuff and my glue. everything else i just plop to the side and eventually i end up with a tower of stuff that's threatening to avalanche everywhere. somewhere in my mess i've lost my t-square ruler and that thing is pretty good sized, so yeah, i've got quite the clean up ahead of me.

Since this is my first time participating in the team challenge, I have a couple of questions about point counting to ensure I'm doing things correctly. If I use more than one challenge on a single project, can I stack the points or am I limited to just one point per project? For instance, if I use one of the CARDtober challenges for the CARDtober Ketchup November challenge and also put some washi tape on it, can I count 2 points for that card (one point for Ketchup and one point for washi)? I'm guessing you can also stack an additional point for it if I share it. Does it have to be shared in the sharing/commenting thread or can it be shared anywhere?

CoffeeCrafter you're correct, you can stack as many points as you can pile on there. kiwigirl and i both made LOs worth more than 40 points in october. so you get one point for making something, anything and everything counts, give yourself a point. then you get another if you share it; you don't have to share here, you can put it in our flickr gallery or post to another online gallery or on fb or wherever. if it's posted anywhere, give yourself another point. for the challenges, they're each a point each unless they say otherwise and the fun for me is seeing how many i can use in one project. so for this month, for instance, let's say you make a card and it's rectangular, then you add on a stamped piece that's a square, then you add in washi, vellum, some lace...that would be 5 challenges so 5 points, plus one for making, plus one for sharing (if you do). i hope that makes sense! you're right on track and don't forget you don't have to do any challenges. if you need to make a card for an occasion, you can still give yourself a point for it, whether it meets any challenges or not.

Hey team!
I’m ridiculously excited for November scrapping! I leave on the 15th for a 3 night, 3 day crop with some of my favorite people in the world! Back in the early early 2000s I was on the old CK message board and was part of a group of “early birds” who posted every morning. We were from New England, New Brunswick, Chicago, Michigan, Florida, a few other states, Australia and New Zealand. I’ve been lucky enough to meet some of them and they’re my scrappy friends, including my sister who I introduced to scrapbooking and to my message board friends. This crop will include 2 gals from NH, one from New Brunswick, my sister and I from MA and our friend in VT where the crop is held, along with dozens of others. The friend from New Zealand has come to the US and Canada twice and visited several of us.
I’m going to be planning lots of Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Birthday pages to work on.

Hi everyone! Last month was my first month with challenges and wow! It helped me get so much done. I’m hoping to doneven more this month. My goal is to complete at least 10-15 pages from my Europe vacation from last year and another 5-10 from older pictures. I have so much I need to catch up on. My 3rd, 4th and 5th kids (well not 5th so mich since he’s still a baby) are asking where their books are! I also need to organize my supplies and scrap room so I can surprise 3 of my kids with their own scrap stuff and space in my room. I’m looking forward to this month and I’m hoping since it’s actually less busy for me I can keep up with chatting and commenting on the other thread!

Welcome to the Team Challenge newbies! Glad you decided to jump in. It is only the 2nd and I am already feeling like I am "behind". Haven't scrapped since the crop on the weekend of the 19th. When I scrap every day, the process is easy. When I have been away from it for a few days, everything seems like it takes more effort. And then when I am done those first few pages, my response is, "well, they're done". The trick is to find some easy pages to start with. Part of the problem is that, stinkerbelle, I am NOT a tidy scrapper. I tend to drop tools and supplies where and when I finish with them, and when I have been away for awhile I can't remember where that spot might be. And part of it is, when I am just getting back into scrapping, I find myself overthinking what I am doing instead of just letting creativity flow. Glad the GRID is one of the challenges, b/c it is pretty easy to line up a grid of photos, and then they take up a lot of real estate, so less need to be creative. Doesn't help that I am on a deadline to finish my Florida vacation album rather than scrap the latest and greatest photos from my latest week with grandkids. BUT I have 4 pages in various stages of completion and I hope to have them finished and ready to be photographed by the time we get some natural light around here (pretty dark this morning). Not sure how many points they will earn, and they are definitely not "the best pages I have ever done", but they are four more pages that will be FINISHED!!!!

anyone else scrapping this weekend? I won't be scrapping, but will be crafting. Tomorrow I'll be working on cards for my blog for next week and hope to record at least one tutorial video, maybe two, for my YouTube channel in the process. On Sunday I'm planning to start another mass production card making session. The company where I work has an employee service program and each month we have a new service project opportunity if we chose to participate. Since November is Military Family Appreciation Month and our company supports the Air Force, this month's project is to create thank you cards/letters to send to deployed service members. Our company has partnered with Operation Gratitude who creates care packages for service members. They said one of the items service members love getting the most are cards and letters from back home, even if it's from a complete stranger. So, we're on a card/letter writing campaign to get as many as possible to go into the care packages going out next month to our service members who are currently on deployment. I work in the IT division (~325 people) and our CIO has challenged our organization to write at least 5000 cards/letters. Since I know there are probably a lot of people who won't participate, I'm going to try and create 150 handmade cards. Being a card maker and the daughter of a career National Guardsman, it's almost like this service project was created just for me. LOL

anyone else scrapping this weekend? I hope to do something. I'm also going to ty that 45 pt page I doubt I'll make it but it'll be fun to try and the challenges are great. Unfortunately it's only 6.30am and I've woken up with a slight temperature and I'm all shivery I shall have to drink lots of hot tea methinks!
CoffeeCrafter that's a great project, good luck with you cards. Anyone who receives one will be very lucky indeed I used to be a Probation Service volunteer and wrote to a man in prison for over 10 years, and visited once a month. He had no family, and most likely did something heinous as he was in for life and was already over 60 when I met him. I never knew what it was, the Service don't tell you, and it's not something one asks! Not the same thing as supporting service personnel but I still enjoyed being someone's only contact with the outside world.

anyone else scrapping this weekend? Yes! I spent an hour last night pulling pictures and paper for the crop I’m going to in two weeks and then scrapped a photo of my granddaughter. I have to get the challenges printed out so I can count points before posting otherwise I end up in a pickle at the end of the month! Today it’s supposed to be rainy and windy...a great day to stay inside and scrap!

I have not posted my monthly challenges yet, and I haven't even looked at any of the other challenges for this month. We got back from a short holiday overnight and honestly all I've done today is laundry, groceries, and reading. I'm planning an early night to catch up on sleep and will hopefully be back to play tomorrow. I've taken an extra week's leave so should be able to do at least some scrapping. I'm totally a neat scrapper. I often put things away as I'm working on a page once I know I'm done with it and always clean up my desk after each layout is complete. I still have stuff out, things I either reach for all the time (like gold colour shine) or things I'm trying to use up, but mostly I have to have a clean space. It helps that my desk isn't big enough to hold much stuff other than my page in progress. CoffeeCrafter I love companies that give back. I'm lucky enough to work for one that asks us to volunteer to pack backpacks for kids who are taken into emergency foster care. Part of the induction for this work is reading through some of the postcards that the kids send back - it's heartbreaking how much a soft toy or their own pillow case can improve a child's sense of worth. I hope you reach your goal for handmade cards.

Chinagirl828 it's lovely to have you back! i hope you had a fabulous time on your holiday we have lots and lots of challenges this month, so your extra week will come in handy methinks. i used to be very neat. not sure what happened, but now it always looks like a bunch of junkies are living in my space and i still haven't cleaned it up. this morning i woke up ravenous for pizza and of course we had nothing to make pizza in the house, so i've already done a grocery run and it's barely 8 a.m. here. very cold outside, although we do have some weak sunshine at the moment, but i think our temps are supposed to be in the 70s, which will be nice. still a bit chilly to me, but everyone who bitches constantly about the arizona heat will be happy i'm off to check out the rest of the threads and get my butt out of the chair and into my scrappy space!

anyone else scrapping this weekend? Me! Four really quick pages this morning before I need to move onto other things. I now have ten pages for my Florida album completed. They won't get many points each, but right now I am focussed on getting these pages completed and ready to copy and bind. Hoping to get another batch done tomorrow morning. Have yet to photograph any of them, but hope to do that and share in a couple of days.

I have to get the challenges printed out so I can count points before posting otherwise I end up in a pickle at the end of the month! Today it’s supposed to be rainy and windy...a great day to stay inside and scrap! Challenges close this evening. MDscrapaholic will put together a printable list, and then you can count your current points, pack "point getters", and take the list along to the crop. And JaneB will have a spreadsheet to help you count. <iframe width="18.88" height="5.09999999999999" id="MoatPxIOPT0_22098389" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: -5px; width: 18.88px; height: 5.1px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="18.88" height="5.09999999999999" id="MoatPxIOPT0_119499" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 889px; top: -5px; width: 18.88px; height: 5.1px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="18.88" height="5.09999999999999" id="MoatPxIOPT0_46910657" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 194px; width: 18.88px; height: 5.1px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="18.88" height="5.09999999999999" id="MoatPxIOPT0_17031304" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 889px; top: 194px; width: 18.88px; height: 5.1px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="18.5600000000001" height="5.5" id="MoatPxIOPT0_11307756" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: -5px; width: 18.56px; height: 5.5px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="18.5600000000001" height="5.5" id="MoatPxIOPT0_50570007" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 874px; top: -5px; width: 18.56px; height: 5.5px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="18.5600000000001" height="5.5" id="MoatPxIOPT0_9378916" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 214px; width: 18.56px; height: 5.5px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="18.5600000000001" height="5.5" id="MoatPxIOPT0_78579673" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 874px; top: 214px; width: 18.56px; height: 5.5px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe>

I've participated in many of the monthly service projects with my current employer since they introduced the service program five or six years ago. There are lots of volunteer and mentoring opportunities with area schools (especially with STEM programs since we're an engineering company), volunteering at homeless shelters, working on Habitat for Humanity build projects, Angel Trees at the holidays to provide gifts to families in need and children in the foster card system, canned food drives, clothing drives, and even quarterly "clean the beach" days where we go down an collect trash at the local beaches.

I wanted to scrap today but things just kept going wrong from a babysitter cancelling for our Bible study, to my car not starting so we had to move the Bible study to my messy house! After that I spent a few hours actually cleaning/organizing my craft room. It had become so disorganized and a mess! I grabbed a few organizational helps while I was out yesterday and will hopefully put them in place so I can decide what else I need when I go to ikea next weekend. I’m hoping house cleaning doesn’t take too long tomorrow so I can get a page or two done!
