I think I’m going to have to find a tutorial for those stars cmhs . They are lovely Thank you! Here is the tutorial I used: woven stars I've made them from cardstock and fabric in the past (2 fabrics fused with a stabilizer) but the reed is my favorite.

I've been making lots of these woven stars/snowflakes. They're made of 1/4" flat reed. ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181210/7de1ec5e2fd890423526bee79742c992.jpg) You’re snowflakes are lovely! Are they hardto make?

They're fairly easy to make. I recommend practicing with strips of cardstock to get the hang of it.

Are you filling them with flax seeds? I was thinking about doing them for everyone and filling them with flax seeds. no, i'm making them with whole feed corn. i made these several years ago and the corn worked very well. i find the larger surface area of the corn holds heat better than smaller fillers. i bought a 50lb bag of corn. it filled exactly 23 bags with approximately 5 cups of corn in each bag. I have a bag filled with feed corn that I bought from an old guy at a craft fair about ten years ago. This thing is the BEST microwaveable heating pad I've ever had. It's maybe 16-18" long and 7-8" wide. I can sort of drape it on my arm and shoulder, and it covers a lot of space. And it's sewn with some heavy duty almost upholstery-weight fabric. I love this thing. All that to say...I think the feed corn really makes it what it is. It holds onto the heat really well, and the weight of it feels great. It does smell somewhat like popcorn when I heat it, but so much the better!

I'm always impressed with the monthly craft thread, but you ladies have really puled out all the stops this month! SO BEAUTIFUL. All I've gotten done so far this month is Christmas cards. I bought a bunch of Anna Griffin supplies again this year, because it's so easy to put them together. Here are a few. If you get one in your mailbox, just act surprised. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/laugh.jpg.gif) ![](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/64/9c/f0/649cf0bb667a9723b72be9106868618c.jpg) ![](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/62/6b/10/626b1060f8053fed519b7b7b5f9cf5ef.jpg)

Mystie they are lovely. So detailed. I love to scrapbook but I am such a simple scrapbooker I just envy when scrapbookers and card makers can do such intricate work.

lainey —for the Moda Blockheads 2 quilt, here are some of the details: Finished quilt size. The planned quilt will measure 72″ x 78″ without additional borders or blocks. Blocks. There are 52 blocks – four from each of the Block Heads. The sizes vary from 6″ to ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) (It’s a Mystery!) Dates & Timing. The last block posted will be on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 I just finished block 34, but there were two versions of block 34. This is the third appliqué block so right now, I guess I have 37 blocks—34 blocks plus the three alternatives to the appliqué versions. I was keeping them up on the wall, but had to take block 1-22 down when I ran out of room! It’s been good for me because I don’t have lots of time and I get frustrated if I have a project that I can’t work on. A block or two a week is a good pace. Even if I get a few weeks behind, I can easily catch up and keep up. I hope they keep doing this. Moda is my favorite fabric and I have been loving the weekly blocks.

Mystie they are lovely. So detailed. I love to scrapbook but I am such a simple scrapbooker I just envy when scrapbookers and card makers can do such intricate work. Oh, these are deceptively detailed! I used pre-made blank cards, pre-made acrylic overlays on some of them, pre-made tags on some, pre-tied bows, ready-made sentiment stickers, etc. I did cut a few diecuts myself, but the great thing about Anna Griffin is that you can buy these pre-printed elements and then just mix and match them. She has a big Christmas card kit every year, and I used to buy those, but they went from making 50 cards to 40 and then 30, I think (for the same price) so last year I started buying separate elements in her line and making my own "kits." I really enjoy making them because there's just the right amount of thought and effort (i.e. little) involved. I used to feel like I had to create everything from scratch when I crafted, but I'm done with that now. You can see Anna Griffin stuff on the HSN website. Not sure how much Christmas stuff is left, but it's worth a look. And thanks for your kind words.

Thanks for sharing!

Mystie , LOVE your cards. Beautiful, every one of them. And how long do you heat your "heating pads" with the feed corn in them? I used to use rice in mine but am thinking I should try making them with the feed corn! And StephDRebel, WOW, those are AMAZING! My daughter and I would LOVE those. You should sell them. I would buy them for sure--both the snowmen and tree!

You kind of have to play with it to see how hot is too hot, but always put a layer or two between your skin and the pad!

So I haven't kept track of exactly who is making/has made what but it's all been amazing! teri, I'm sorry about your mom - that's hard at any time but I'm sure especially now. I'm still working on the &*()*^&*^ hat I mentioned on December 1. My DD picked out the pattern without me checking it first, and it's an advanced skill one, lol. I'm muddling through it, I think, although if all my stitches had been correct and not needing pulling out and redoing, I probably could have completed 10 hats by now. It's also not the clearest pattern in the world. It's not incorrect, but for example, you're going along with various combinations of BPDCR, FPDCR with the occasional SS and chain. When I was working on something like round 9, I was completely flummoxed and did about half of it literally 10 times or more - only to eventually discover that in round 8, I was supposed to have the occasional BPTCR. The rhythm of the stitches was exactly the same, and there was just that little change in one letter. Other patterns I've worked with would have bolded the change, but this one didn't. Again, not incorrect but it could have been made simpler. I'm considering starting up a business making crocheted yarmulkes, since I appear to be able to crochet to about that size before I run into problems. I'm sure they'd be a huge hit, right? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg)

Can you link the pattern? Maybe we can help. Thank you! I am currently doing it correctly (I think!), but if I run into more snags, I'll come to the Peas! I'm hopeful this one may be past the problem stage - only 2 more different types of rows to do - then I just repeat the last one 15 times or something. I'm crocheting poppies for next years Remembrance display. The aim is to get 20,000 and make a huge wall of poppies, I've done 2 so far! What a lovely idea. Are they taking poppies from other places as well? (As in, I'd be happy to do some if I can get linked or shown a pattern to use, and then could mail them to you or whomever.)
