Loving everyone’s crafting - 😍🥰 I’ve finally finished my blanket 10 days later than I’d hoped, but at least it is finished a week before Christmas 🎄🚗 WOW! That is a LOT of work, and so beautiful. Are you proud? You should be!

I finally finished the Crochet Crowd Study of Texture afghan. My d@mn arthritis really made it difficult to finish, but I finally did. The original pattern makes a square afghan, but when I got to that point, DH told me he thought a square afghan was a bad idea. Normally, I wouldn't even have asked his opinion (lol), but since he might be the one who uses this one most, I added extra rows of basketweave on each end to make it rectangular. It's very warm and cuddly. And I'm so glad I'm done. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Just so beautiful, and really cosy looking too. Lucky hubby!

lainey, I am finishing up my Secret Paths shawl and then I'm doing that Tea House Wrap. I decided I am going to use the same brand of yarn as she used (I have a bit in my stash and it's a nice, soft, thick yarn) and I ordered four different colors today to compliment the skeins I had on hand. I am thinking this will be beautiful and cozy and looking at the pattern, super easy too.

Has anyone used this yarn, if so what were your impressions? www.woolwarehouse.co.uk/blog/hats/I made a hat for my nephew with it a couple of years ago. It didn't hold up super well, but I think part of that problem was the industrial-strength velcro on his coat.

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Sigh. Going like the clappers to get a unicorn blanket ready to gift tomorrow and I’ve run out of yarn with 4 rows to go. I’m too tired to start fiddling about so I’m going to leave all of them and finish them after Christmas. It’s not what I planned but the kids won’t be bothered. Now I’ve made the decision I feel so much less stressed! It’s the purple one, the little blighter. ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/thumbnailer/KLMjroZbHGQUGmCdJBYv.png)

Oh heck. I'm managing about a row or two a day on this flipping cardigan. I have about 3 more rows to do, and the next one is the one with the buttonholes in (never done that before ![](http://i67.tinypic.com/w8vviq.gif) ) which I have to work out how to space. Then I have to make 2 pockets, sew them on, sew in one of the remaining ends, and wash it before Sunday. That's as well as blitzing the house, making up the beds for 2 visitors and wrapping ALL the presents... Sleep will be an optional extra I think. ![](http://i63.tinypic.com/219rxqx.gif)

I am not near as talented as all you "yarn girls" with your crochet & knit projects that I swoon over, but I made these ornaments for my DGD who loves all things Rae Dunn. ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181222/206cdeaa8b67b0b50cd954df0c87e729.jpg) ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181222/96fde9baedec47371a5821c0c51dfeda.jpg)

At last. That took 5 weeks but this afternoon I finished Mum's cardigan, complete with pockets and buttons. I've just washed it and it's drying. She's arriving tomorrow but won't be looking in the drying room. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) Now I can start cleaning the house and finish wrapping presents. I promise I will post photos of Mum in her cardigan, and me in mine.

I have cheap yarn to make my afghan but I want to make an expensive shawl. BFF says I have “like the best yarn store in the world” so if that is true I have good yarn to choose from. I am just wondering if you use really fancy yarn...?

I'm using a cheap acrylic to make my current shawl (mostly because I just want it gone!) it's ok but it's not the best, I much prefer a cotton or cotton blend yarn to crochet with.

Wool, alpaca, mohair, angora or any animal hair is a no go for me. I am allergic to all natural animal fibres and can’t do itching while crocheting. I was thinking silk or cotton maybe. Cotton feels nice in my hand and I like it better than acrylic. I do love the acrylic I am using for my afghan though. I will take the little old lady shopping and get her to tell me what to buy and she is going to teach me. She is an educator by trade and she loves nothing more than teaching me new things...

Alpaca, urgh that stuff is itchy! I didn't get on with it at all and ended up giving that yarn away in a RAK. King Cole do a cotton/silk blend that's a DK weight, it isn't expensive so might be a good choice to try.
I'm hating the yarn I started the Adirondack Wrap with, I'm going to order something nicer to make it.

We made these for my mom, my crafting is done for the year. Ha ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181211/7830fe3aac71f7aba1931448b75b47e6.jpg) Love these! I wanted my husband to teach me to weld, but he won’t. I’m blind in one eye and he’s afraid I’ll do something with the one that works. We have a ton of old horse shoes.

I have no concentration so I can only do anything for 10 minutes at a time. It’s frustrating. I don’t know how to read any longer either and I read from right to left. It’s frustrating because if this is going to be life at 50 then what will 75 be like?
