It is so funny because for years my mom and sister have told me I need a KitchenAid mixer. And I have said, no I wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost. One year my DH bought my Christmas gifts and I picked it up...heavy...he told me he bought me a mixer. I was so disappointed. It turned out to be a printer...haha...
Well my mom loaned me her mixer to do my cookie dough on Friday. Hallelujah! It was wonderful! I made all the good things quick and easy. It wasn't even hard to clean. Now I'm just trying to decide what color I need...lol...
Have you ever had an experience like this? Something you thought you didn't need until you actually tried it and then we're won over?

You definitely need a mixer! I dont use mine all the time, but man, when I do use it things go so much quicker!
I feel the same way about my Air Fryer. I didn't really want one (my kitchen is small and I don't have a ton of storage space) but we use the Air Fryer all the time now! So glad I have it! I also feel this way with my Epson Photo Printer and my Clarasonic Mia Face scrubber thing. So worth the money.

I wanted one for dozens of years and then FINALLY saved up for it and used coupons at BB&B and got mine about 16 years ago. I swear, every single time I use it, I wash it off and kiss it. It should have its own counter space with a spotlight on it!!
Congrats on getting yours! There are SO many things you could do with it. Look it up on here or on YouTube. Which one did you get??? I'm dying to upgrade and get a bigger one with the lift feature (that won't happen though!).
ONE PIECE OF ADVICE: Always keep it unplugged until you have the paddle on there. I've switched them out before with it plugged it and accidentally turned it on! You could get really hurt!

My 5 qrt kitchenaid mixer in cobalt blue, who is almost 17 yrs old, is named Sir Mix A Lot.
My new 6 qrt pro mixer, who is red, is named Scarlet Rose.
Yes I name my mixers LOL
I finally bit the bullet and got an immersion blender. LOVE it!!! Makes creaming soups a lot easier than using the back of a spoon to smooch everything

Enabling here: Best Buy has this one on sale for a phenomenal deal. Not an affiliate link. Saw the sale on Money Saving Mom. Tempted to buy it myself, and we already have one, LOL. Oh and jeremysgirl TJ Maxx has had some Patricia Nash pieces in the last couple times I have been in there.

Has the highest watt motor and larger capacity.

After I posted that here, I mentioned it to my Wednesday night craft group. About a week later, my friend Nia told me they had them at TJ Maxx and I scooted right over there and got a tooled leather bag for $69.99. I just couldn't justify the $200 price tag but I thought $69.99 was awesome. I love my bag.

Amazon Prime--at least in December. We've never felt like we needed Prime, nor missing out by not having Prime, but a couple of weeks ago DH accidently signed up for the free trial and it's been very handy. We're still planning to cancel before the end of the trial because we don't need it the other 11 months of the year, but we've sure enjoyed it!

I don't know what life would be like w/o my KA mixer. I have had the same mixer for 24 years and I just love it. I'm going to replace it w/a newer model, but I'm so frugal that I haven't ordered my new one, yet.
You'll love having your own mixer. If you don't get one I'll just have to nag you repeatedly on the dinner thread until you do. Seriously, it's worth every cent. Look at Amazon, cause they've had good deals on it, as well.

Eh, call me the mixer Scrooge, but I have both a stand mixer and handheld mixer, and the stand mixer rarely gets pulled out any more. I mixed up three batches of cookies earlier with only my handheld mixer in no time flat.
I'm short on kitchen space and am seriously considering getting rid of my stand mixer.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my Kitchen Aide! I've had it for um... like 20 years? It is the boring white one with a lift bowl but it lives on my counter we use it so much. Pizza dough, ice cream, pasta, sausage. We've got it all!

Honestly, a kitchen aid will last you most of the rest of your life, so even if you don't use it every day or even every month, it is well worth the cost.

Yes! And similar to your experience I did not feel I needed one. I was like that with my vitamix too and am so glad for that silly blender. Also I was like that with kallax shelves, and cutting cable. I think I am like that about a lot of things, and sometimes I end up spending more money trying to be frugal than if I had just gotten the right thing for the job to start with!

I got my first Kitchen Aid 4 years ago. I got the steely metallic grey to go with the kitchen. I think mine is the 5qt. It came with 4 different attachemenfs and the glass bowl. My only regret is I didn’t get the one where the bowl raises up to meet the mixer. Mine is the kind where the neck of the mixer bends back. It really only is a problem because of space. It hits the kitchen cabinets above it when it tilts. But I love her anyway.
I named her 50 Shades of Julia Steele.

I'm the outlier who is selling mine! I just prefer a hand mixer and I never used the stand mixer much. But the things that I didn't think I needed but love now is my salad spinner.

I love mine, too.
I put felt pads on the feet so I can slide into the corner when not in use, the easily pull, it out again.

My KA will be 23 years old next week (on Christmas) and still going strong. I bought an extra bowl and paddle attachment for the big cookie making days. I also have the pasta roller, sausage stuffer and juicer attachments. ETA: Like mikklynn, I put felt pads on the feet.

Welcome to the church of Kitchenaid!
After the year my DH gave me an electric can opener for Christmas, I explained to him, that if it had a cord, it was not to be gieven for Christmas. Several years pass and I asked for a Kitchen Aid, his question was, does it have a cord? I carefully explained a can opener and a super mixer were entirely different.
Enjoy your new must have.

I never really wanted one, but my dad insisted I needed one and they gave me one for Christmas about 15 years ago or so and I LOVE it. And dd2 learned to bake using it and now has a small cake decorating business, so it was a perfect gift. You definitely need one.

I'm the second owner of Lucy van Pelt. She was given to me by a friend who was remodeling her kitchen and getting a new one to match. Honestly, I think her DH wanted it out of the house because it was a wedding gift from her first marriage lol! She gave her to me with the promise I would not rename her. She's over 40 years old and still going!

I bought mine right before Thanksgiving when they were $249. I love it! Named the bigger red one Mixxie and the smaller white one Minnie, LOL. Now I just need to put some custom vinyl graphics on them to make them look like Mickey and Minnie! ETA: To answer your question, I felt that way about the Instant Pot too, wasn’t sure we’d really use it but we actually do. Same with the air fryer to a slightly lesser degree.

The ones with the lift bowl are taller, so they might not work in your kitchen either. The Artisan is 14” when the neck is down and the bowl lifting 600 series is 16.5”. You might not be able to tuck it back under a counter at all, unlike the Artisan.
