My connections are Canadian related.
My SIL went to school with Carly Rae Jepson
My parents were friends with the brother of rocker Randy Bachman (The Guess Who, Bachman Turner Overdrive) so I used to play with his niece and nephew during childhood
My brother was best friends with a guy who ended up being on Canadian Idol and made it to 5 or 3 and is now a Christian musician.

I went to high school with Kate Spade.
Once I got to follow Anthony Bourdain around a food festival and to make sure he had cold beer.
Right after college, I did PR for an outdoor amphitheater I met a lot of performers. I most enjoyed Jimmy Buffet!
I have friends who say you can play 6 degrees of separation because of me!
I meet T-bone Burnett, Calle Khouri, John Prine, Emmy Lou Harris, Connie Britton and others at a funeral in Nashville.
I know I have more. LOL.

My friend hung out with David boreanaz. I have posted before about it. If my parents hadn’t told people that I left town, David and I probably be married and divorced by now. He was just my type. Tall skinny dark haired and severely depressed! <------ Hohum. David Boreanaz did you say? Bette Midler was one of my sister's best friends in high school, used to spend the night at our house all the time. I grew up down the street from Jennifer Love Hewitt. Her dad and my dad were really good friends and we would have sleepovers - then she moved to her moms in the 4th grade. Also, I am a descendant of a man named Wilmer McLean. His house was the one used by Grant and Lee to sign the treaty ending the Civil War. I am not totally sure of that connection either, but it is from my maternal great grandmother's family. I always heard a story of how during the first battle of the war, a cannonball came down his chimney, so he moved his family to the city of Appomattox, VA (or maybe Appomattox Courthouse, VA), and he said how the Civil War started and ended in his house Zowie, that's incredible! We tried to get Nana to write a book and I even suggested the title would be "Behind the dressing room door" but she thought no one would read it.

Totally random...
Michael Landon used to host tennis tournaments in Tucson when I was a kid. I was thrilled to meet him because he was Pa Ingalls!!
My mother-in-law went to school with Ann Margaret.
My uncle used to date Steve Jobs’ ex, Chris-Ann Brennan. She and Lisa were part of our family when Lisa was young. The family was interviewed for and included in Lisa’s Small Fry book.
I asked my other uncle who taught him to play guitar. Jerry Garcia!! He said he was a terrible teacher but amazing at teaching him how to make guitars.
A great aunt taught Billy Joel piano when he was young.
I used to sell clothing to John Mellencamp and his family when we lived in Bloomington.
I shook Bill Clinton’s hand when he was campaigning for Hilary.
In HS my husband and his German host family were hiking. They greeted another small group, only to realize it was Elton John!
Oh, and I completely forgot about working at the Jordan Marsh (maybe it was Macy’s by then) bridal registry department. Nancy Kerrigan was one of our client. She was rude and demanding.

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark "Cassandra Peterson" lived one street over from us. She was my brother's age, so he knew her from school. She was good friends with a gal where I worked and she came to visit her in her Thunderbird and boy did the employees quickly swarm out of the building to google at both her and her car.
I have Flip Wilson's autograph. He was here in Colorado Springs for a Helium Balloon race to the Mississippi. He was in the basket of the balloon, getting ready for take off. He took all his jewelry off and handed it to one of his crew members. I debated about going up to him and asking for his autograph and got brave about it last minute. He says oh honey, I can't, this is dangerous, we are about to lift off. Then he says, real quick and reached out for my pen and paper. He was such a funny comedian.
I went on a couple of tours while visiting Switzerland. The tour guide pointed out Al Pacino sunbathing on the roof of his home, which was next to an pear orchard that has filling with brandy bottles. They put the bottle over the pear, the pear grows in the bottle and then they are plucked and filled with brandy. Also, during that tour, while at a stop light, Yul Brynner crossed in front of us.

My x son in law went to school in Malibu and had lots of friends with famous parents. A few years ago, DD tells me that a friend was coming to visit, a guy whose dad was “ some famous singer whose name started with O”. Yes that’s right, Roy Orbison ‘s son came to Portland to visit SIL and DD.
The TV personality, and bedding and furniture huckster Jennifer Adams is the daughter of a friend. I’ve known her since she was a toddler.
Sharon Stone came in for a pedicure at other DD’s salon in Portland, and evidently was a real diva.
Tea Leoni got coffee from DD’s kiosk years ago while she was filming something near the small town we lived in. She was nice.
My kids are descendants of Ulysses S Grant.
I walked past Goldie Hawn in Vancouver CA, I was heading to feed the parking meter, she was with an entourage shopping.

I was friends with Jessica Fields growing up, who is the oldest daughter of Debbi, as in Mrs. Fields' cookies.
Brandon Flowers (from The Killers) and my cousin were really good friends from high school. They were vacationing (guys trip) at his home in Park City a few years ago, and he brought him over to our restaurant and introduced us.
Katherine Heigl lives in our small town of 2000 people. Our kids ride the bus together, and I run into her around town often.

My favorites are always the academics. My Dad took a college English class from Robert B. Parker, and my grandfather studied under Margaret Mead.

Blanche Barrows was dh aunt. His uncle married her when she got out of prison. She was a very nice old lady who taught Sunday school at the baptist church while they were married. I met her once, at a funeral. Many years after her death, the friend who inherited all her stuff and had been storing it in her garage found her autobiography. She got someone to edit it and got it published. My kids think it is really cool being kin to her and one asked me the other day if I still had the book. Her dd wanted to read it. I didn't still have it but sent her one from amazon. www.amazon.com/dp/B009NXK8OI/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1This is fascinating! I didn’t know who she was but clicked the link. Wow!

I grew up in LA, so there were many brushes, especially where I lived. Neighbors included Ted Danson, Peter Graves, Frank Gorshin, The Birneys (Merideth Baxter), Luke Williams, Celeste Holm (who once rescued and returned our runaway dog) etc. They filmed the final scene of Beverly Hills Cop in my 'hood also. I also went to school with future Olympians (mostly volleyball).
I was a lowly retail worker working in Beverly Hills, so there were countless transactions -- Eddie Murphy, John Ritter, Telly Savalas, Lily Tomlin, etc
There were many random sightings just around town, Jim Belushi out jogging I recall seeing on multiple occasions. I turned around at church one day to give the sign of the peace and shook hands with Carol O'Connor.
When I was in high school, I worked at a children's shop in Pacific Palisades. Goldie Hawn was a regular customer and I was always charged with keeping an eye on her kids (who ran wild) while she shopped. Looking back now, I bet one of those kids was Kate Hudson.

I have a couple of odd ones
My grandfather ran liquor for Al Capone and he was the first Santa at Knotts Berry Farm.
I partied with basketball player Scotty Pippen when he was still warming the bench for Chicago. We didn't "sleep" together, but did sleep in the same bed. I had to buy breakfast in the morning because he was broke.
The Miami Dolphins were doing summer training at a Jr college I went to. I was late for class one morning and was flying down this tremendous set of stairs. Right as I got to the bottom corner, Joe Montana walked around the corner with the rest of the team behind him. I smashed into him so hard that he was knocked to the ground. You should have heard his team mates laugh.

They both were theater majors and my friend’s group let David hang out with them. My friend was not impressed. It seems David had a dog that he took everywhere and would sit in a corner fussing with that dog. My friend used to have photographs but that is all lost now.

I'm descended from one of the leaders of the Mayflower Pilgrims and one of the Salem "witches."
I babysat for a couple of Gary Burghoff(Radar on M*A*S*H)'s cousins.
Ben of Ben & Jerry's may still live in my town. One of my friends babysat his kids.
I have met and keep bumping into one of the members of Phish because our kids are the same age and are involved in some of the same activities.

I went to HS with Nolan Ryan. He was behind me in school. I was in pep club with his sister.
One year, when he was still with the Angels, he gave us tickets to the game when they came to DFW to play the Rangers.

I went to the same university as Sean Patrick Flanery and he was a casual acquaintance in '89/'90. We graduated from high school together! I was in an episode of Diners Drive-ins and Dives (or whatever it's called) last year with Dan Pastorini. My SO was a radio dj in college and also in a hardcore punk band, so he's made friends with lots of well-known punk bands and other musicians. He is still friends with Henry Rollins. He also got Billy Bob Thornton to sing me happy birthday a few years back.

...my favorite interaction was when Wonder Woman tv show was filming next door to my elementary school. During a braek, the production let my class come over and meet her while she was in costume. It was amazing! ... I would die. DIE. I am a big fan of Wonder Woman and religiously watched the episodes with Linda Carter. To meet her in costume would have set me for life.

I have now, though. I live anything Laura Ingalls Wilder real or TV. I’ve been to her her in Mansfield as well. How are you related?? I am always on the hunt for the Tab Little House lunchbox!! Lol

Well my story is kind of old school...
Back in the late 60’s, my BFF and I were at the beach in Del Mar, California. Our boyfriends were out surfing and we were sitting on our towels watching. All of a sudden we see Fess Parker (from the tv show Davy Crockett) jogging along the shoreline. Our eyes about popped out of our heads, LOL. As we are sitting there, my friend notices a shortish older man standing near us, and nudges me and whispers, “that’s Jimmy Durante”. I didn’t think it was, and we were whispering and giggling, was it him or not. So Mr. Durante must have heard us, and walk over and starts talking to us. He was the nicest guy, just joked around with us for a while, then he saw Fess Parker, and they took off together walking down the beach. It was funny to watch, Mr. Parker was so tall and wearing a swimsuit, and Mr. Durante was quite short and wearing, I think, a sports coat and pants.
Oh and my dad went to high school with Truman Capote. I have a copy of the high school journalism magazine with a piece written by Mr. Capote.

I literally ran into John Elway when I was about 8 months pregnant... lol... he didn’t say a word to me, jerk.
I went to a party in Beverly Hills and talk to Steve Perry for a good 15 .. he was SOOOO nice. And Lionel Richie asked me where the bathroom was .. haha... Lee Majors was there but I didn’t get close to him.
Saw Rob Lowe at an street intersection in Malibu.
Saw Donald Trump at the airport waiting for a flight and we all wonder why he was flying commercial. Lots of people talked to him and he was quite nice to everyone. This was in the late 80s.
I worked at an airline and a bunch of punk kids wanted to rent a plane and I brushed them off, and a friend was laughing at me and said you have no idea... and I then realized it was New Kids On The Block!!!

My uncle went to school with James Caan and my father was in the same army base as Elvis Presley.
My family knew Carmine Caridi from the neighborhood. He was an actor and, until Harvey Weinstein, the only person to have ever been throw out of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts - it had to do with sharing preview copies of a movie.

Mine are mostly sports related.
I went to high school with John Madden's sons (Mike was a year ahead of me and Joe was a year behind me.) A lot of Oakland Raiders players and coaches lived in my town back then. I also went to high school with Fred Biletnikoff and Gene Upshaw's sons (both younger than me in school.)
One of my best friends in high school's dad is retired Green Bay Packers General Manager Ron Wolf (he worked for the Raiders at the time.)
I was a volunteer for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. I worked at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies (plus a several other venues during the sporting events) and led a team of volunteers who worked the security checkpoints and as ushers in the stadium. During the Closing Ceremonies my team was working inside the stadium. As I was walking through the concourse to get to one of the portals to go inside and check on my team, I almost ran into Donny and Marie Osmond. They had just arrived at the portal in preparation to go into the stadium to sing. They were both very nice and friendly to the guests who saw them there and said hello. A little while later, I was in the stadium talking to one of my team members and all of a sudden someone from a camera crew said, "Donny and Marie are going to be singing here in a few seconds. If you don't want to be on TV you might want to move." I didn't have time to react one way or another because they appeared just then, so I ducked down because I was right behind them and off to the side just slightly. Later on at home I watched the recording of the show and I could see myself in the background right behind Donny and Marie.

Those of you who follow women’s basketball will know about Pat Summitt. My Mom was a fan of Pat’s Lady Vols teams from the beginning of Pat’s tenure at Tennessee and attended all home games and some of the road games. Back then, The team traveled by bus to away games, and Pat would sell the extra seats to fans, and my Mom and her friend would travel with the team. Later on, my sister moved to Knoxville and became a big Lady Vol fan and supporter of the program. She would entertain the team at a preseason picnic at her house, and endowed a basketball scholarship in my Mother’s name. I met Pat when attending functions with my sister.
