When I was growing up, we were close to another family. My mom was best friend with another mom and they had 1 boy and 2 girls and we had 1 boy and 2 girls and we were all about the same age. The mom of the other family had a brother that would often visit and I just loved him...he was so nice and fun to be around and I sat in his lap often and he'd give us horsey rides on his back...I didn't know at the time that he was famous.
I hadn't seen him in a while and I asked where he had been and my friend said "He's been on tour" - I said "On tour??" - She said 'You know, with Dr. Hook" - Turns our that "Uncle Ray" was Ray Sawyer from Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show...I always thought that was pretty cool.

Btw this was over 20 years and my son is perfectly healthy and has only been drunk once since then, out in the middle of the ocean.

Tim Allen is married to the daughter of our friend. The dad (our friend) manages a local club we all go to and when they are in town we’ve hung out with them at the club. He’s a nice guy, very down to earth and funny. His wife is a sweetheart.

I live in the smallest little town in the middle of nowhere. But Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner is from my hometown and has been in my salon. My uncle worked for Conway Twitty. He managed Twitty City until it closed. So I have met Conway several times when I was a kid, even been to his house. I was neighbors with his relatives. I got hurt one day while he was on the phone with them and he sent a stuffed animal to the hospital.

My mom bowls with Michael J. Fox’s mom. They’ve been friends for years. I used to work with Michael's exgirlfriend. She left just before he became famous.

Cool stories.
I have a few. My sis and I went to the Arsenio show back in about 91, Ernie Isley was a guest. We were getting in our car and we saw him walking towards us. I asked for a pic and he said sure. Took the pic with my old film camera and as I was bringing the camera down I hit the shutter again. He giggled. When I got the pics developed I had a really nice crotch shot of him. He was super nice and kind of laughing at how nervous I was. If he only knew.
The other was when I was went on a weekend cruise out of California. We were hanging out on a lower deck and I noticed Matthew Perry from Friends on the deck above us. I'm a HUGE Friends fan so I knew I had to get a pic with him. Found him later in the casino and got a pic. This was during his big drinking days and he was pretty much a jerk. He's not even smiling in the pic, kind of smirking. Just after I got the pic he dissed a bunch of others.
Just remembered another. One of the dudes from Deadliest Catch, Keith Colburn was appearing at a Kroger promoting their new seafood department. He was giving us a bunch of info about crab and the boat. He was a little taken with me and kinda flirting. He was pointedly asking me questions and being pretty sweet. I have a pretty cool pic of us. My friends tease me about it when it comes up.

I’m related to Laura Ingalls Wilder - and I didn’t know when I was a kid and never watched little house on the prairie because I thought it was boring and annoying! I didn’t even read the books. Lol. I have now, though. Now THAT caught my eye. How exciting! How are you related? None of the sisters had any biological children except Laura's one daughter Rose, who didn't have any children. So it has to be through her parents. Two of her Ma's sisters married two of her Pa's brothers - are you descended from them? I have a few connections with people in the UK. I'm related to England team cricketers through both my Dad's side (wicket-keeper Jack Russell) and my Mum's side (the Bedser twins) of the family, but most people here wouldn't have heard of them. I met Ursula Vaughan Williams, Ralph Vaughan Williams' second wife. My Mum, a nurse, worked with someone who nursed Benjamin Britten through his last years. I worked in a theatre in my teens and met quite a few people who went on to become famous.

Marsha Marsha Marshaaa !!!! Around 1971 or '72, my older sister's friend's family moved to California. When she wrote to my sister that Maureen McCormick (Marsha Brady ) went to her school, it was just......Wow!..... outta sight!..... Groovy!!!!! I absolutely LOVED the Brady Bunch and wished our family was as perfect and happy as them (ROFL!!!) so it was totallllly far out to me just that she walked the same hallways and breathed the same air as "MARSHAAA !!!!!!!!" I waited on her at what was Bullock's Dept store in Westwood, CA in the 80's. She had me running for over an hour and left without buying anything. That was fine, but she was sullen and unpleasant.

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark "Cassandra Peterson" lived one street over from us. She was my brother's age, so he knew her from school. She was good friends with a gal where I worked and she came to visit her in her Thunderbird and boy did the employees quickly swarm out of the building to google at both her and her car. I have Flip Wilson's autograph. He was here in Colorado Springs for a Helium Balloon race to the Mississippi. He was in the basket of the balloon, getting ready for take off. He took all his jewelry off and handed it to one of his crew members. I debated about going up to him and asking for his autograph and got brave about it last minute. He says oh honey, I can't, this is dangerous, we are about to lift off. Then he says, real quick and reached out for my pen and paper. He was such a funny comedian. I went on a couple of tours while visiting Switzerland. The tour guide pointed out Al Pacino sunbathing on the roof of his home, which was next to an pear orchard that has filling with brandy bottles. They put the bottle over the pear, the pear grows in the bottle and then they are plucked and filled with brandy. Also, during that tour, while at a stop light, Yul Brynner crossed in front of us. I more impressed with the pear bottles than any celebrity mentioned on the whole thread. haha

I met and chatted with singer, Eddie Money in an elevator in Mississippi. I met and got photo with Tony Shaloub (Monk) at screening of a film he and his wife made and starred in at a small theatre in Maine. He was quite funny. During his Vice-Presidency, I shook Al Gore’s hand. He came to our company to talk about the Information Superhighway in 90’s. He actually went out of his way around an awkwardly placed plant to greet me because I guess he must have thought I was someone important. I was not. I was one of the few females standing in that area among mostly males, so I think he thought I was an executive since I was dressed up. Who knows. We all got quite a kick out of it. In Atlanta, I would see lots of people around town: Evandro Holyfield, wrestlers like Sting ( not the singer), Braves baseball players, Jeff Daniels on the airport shuttle. I met Mark Lemke of Atlanta Braves at our company party. I saw a few movie stars in LA in restaurants like Nancy Travis right after she was in Three Men and a Baby. I met Barry Manilow after a concert because a good friend was one of his assistants. Very kind man! I met and talked with Susan Walters from Young and the Restless and told her her sister was my neighbor in college. I dated a guy from Brazil whose brother was a soap star there when we went there to visit and went to movies, a lot of girls were pointing and gushing over him. He WAS gorgeous. Gosh, I didn’t realize there were so many until I typed this up!!!

I grew up down the street from Charles Schultz. Which part of his life? I live in the city he had last lived in. His wife built the Charles Schultz Museum right across from the Snoopy Ice Arena! I'll add my cousin is a cameraman in Hollywood and has done movies for Frances Ford Coppola among others. Coppola has a winery up here, so we've been with my cousin to dinner there.

My sister used to work with Chris Farley’s sister. He was in town one week and he and his brothers came to visit the preschool where the girls worked. The boys played football—without an actual ball.
A coworker told me this past week that his brother used to be flown from Canada to Texas to care for George Strait’s horses.
A friend’s dad is a musician (who was very modest) so my friend had to learn that he was in a duo with Bob Dylan before he became famous (even got a mention in Dylan’s autobiography) from a radio story. Also found out that his dad and Bonnie Rait are friends, that John Lennon and David Bowie are both fans and credit his dad as a musical influence, and that Jim Morrison admitted “ripping off” one of his dad’s songs.

Back when the Blazers were good they had a player named Cliff Robinson. I used to dry clean his clothes, we had to use drapery hangers for his suits because they were so big. He was extremely quiet but nice. I always struggled to get his clothes to him because it was heavy. He would just hold out his index finger and saunter out like it was light as a feather . His sister used to come in too, she looked just like him but she had hair, .

I have a few... Dennis Rodman was a friend of My Husband back when he just got divorced from his first wife. He even went to watch my husband play recreational Basketball I think about that now...wow. I sat next to him too. They played one summer of baseball league together too. Back then he was really against alcohol and very devoted to his Daughter. Did not dress in drag and was very pleasant to talk too. I went on a few dates with a Redwing (Sergei Fedorov) Hockey player... just after he separated from Anna kournikova. Have to say caused a lot of heartaches. hung out one time with Mickey Rourke, he was very generous and paid for our tab. I lead a very boring life now lol

Back in 1989, dh and I were walking in Penang, Malaysia, and we heard a very distinctive voice. We looked at each other and simultaneously made a U turn to follow the guy. It was Jack Dodson, Howard on The Andy Griffith Show. We didn't stop him or anything, but we followed him for a couple minutes, basking in the surrealness of it.

I went to high school with Kate Spade. Once I got to follow Anthony Bourdain around a food festival and to make sure he had cold beer. Right after college, I did PR for an outdoor amphitheater I met a lot of performers. I most enjoyed Jimmy Buffet! I have friends who say you can play 6 degrees of separation because of me! I meet T-bone Burnett, Calle Khouri, John Prine, Emmy Lou Harris, Connie Britton and others at a funeral in Nashville. I know I have more. LOL. Jealous love Jimmy Buffet and Anthony Bourdain

Aaron Judge went to school in my very small district I work in. He’s so super sweet! Kristi Yamaguchi went to my high school. She was 2 years older than me. Ryan Locke (Beyonce’s Partner from “if I was a boy”) is the younger brother of one of my high school friends. He was also a Gucci model. His brother, my friend, Jason Locke does CG for movies. He worked on Avatar and a bunch more. Ryan... www.imdb.com/name/nm0516796/Jason... www.imdb.com/name/nm3389785/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1

I went to middle and high school with Whoopie Goldberg's daughter Alex. We were on the same soccer team and Whoopie used to hang out at our soccer games (this is before she became super famous). I also went to high school with Rebecca Romign (sp?) - she was nice but quiet and kind of tall and awkward... Some players who later turned pro played on our football (Jerod Cherry) and basketball teams. Donald Trump once bumped into me at a restaurant in Manhattan as he was trying to make his way to the VIP room

I went to high school with Megan Quann, the U.S. Olympic Gold medalist. She was a junior when she won two gold medals at the Olympics in Sydney. My school was brand new that year and we had a huge diamond vision television in the cafeteria and we watched her win gold during lunch. It was AWESOME. I also had a class with her and her now-husband my junior year. She graduated a year ahead of me.
Dierks Bentley stayed at the hotel I was working at in 2005. I spoke to him on the phone (I was at the front desk and I called to his room) and met him briefly. His manager gave me a signed photograph of him.
Jay Buhner, a former baseball player for the Seattle Mariners, helped me with my son's stroller at SeaTac airport. I was struggling to get it on the conveyer belt and the TSA people were no help. He was behind me and helped me get through security. I was so stunned it was him (I'm a huge Mariners fan!) that I didn't think to get an autograph! He was so kind and went above and beyond to help a young mother with a 4-year-old, 1-year-old, and way too much stuff in a busy airport!

When my mother was a little girl, she rode in an elevator with Marilyn Monroe.
I saw Sinead O'Connor shopping at the Eaton Centre in Toronto before a show at Massey Hall that I attended.
