I'm starting my first layout today! I got out some paper and know the photos I'm going to use.
I'm excited. I have never done 9X12 before and I am so used to having to shove everything into one page for DD. This will be fun.

And I am not going to watch that video cause it will make me all kinds of sad. I saw a post in the veg paris disney facebook group about all the treats and they looked good. There's no way we'll make it to Paris for the 30th. 10 minutes later, Edit to add: And then I immediately clicked on it and watched the whole thing... Hey, don't worry about it. There'll be other anniversaries! I think it's pretty cool that we get to share some of the fun through video anyway. 😉 I'm crossing my fingers we get to some stable-ish place in the next few months so I can finally spend several hours safely-ish on the bullet train and get back to my happy place. Will definitely report back if/when I can enjoy DLP again! You will get to our little park soon-ish. Don't worry about it! Silver lining: Walt Disney Studios will have significantly expanded by the time you return. Did anyone hear about Candace Owens going off about DLP having Minnie Mouse in a Stella McCartney pant suit for March AKA Women History Month? It's the end of society, I tell you. Who's going to tell her DLP has had an official pride event for years now? Her brain will explode... 😁

I realize nothing will make 100% of people happy, but the shit they spin... goodness.

Did anyone hear about Candace Owens going off about DLP having Minnie Mouse in a Stella McCartney pant suit I do not know who she is but Disney has always been super gay-friendly, and as feminist as possible (recently). WTF, a pant suit? People are insane. What's wrong with pants? Minnie looks amazing. Why should she have to wear a skirt all the time?

I bought from eBay a massive lot of Disney Park maps and brochures and stuff. I'll let you know when I'm finished going through it. Happy to send stuff to anyone who needs it. It goes back to 2004 so there is a lot in there I won't use for my album. But it was cheaper to buy that whole lot than individual ones.
I did buy a couple of individual ones for MK 2016 and 2017 then I saw this.
Everything is in great shape. Can't wait to cut it all up!!

I somehow missed your post, but it's probably for the best. DD and I were going through papers to purge and it's like a crazy time warp. How do I still have papers from when the same DD was born? FFS. So, while I have a very large stack of stuff to use for our upcoming DW trip, I apparently have plenty of back ups, too. >.< I also have zero shame in admitting that if KP comes out with more DW/HP stuff before our trip, I will probably purchase those, too.

There’s a vellum clockface from CA’s DL that makes my heart skip a beat. I can’t even remember the rest of it. I tucked it away and haven’t looked at it in a long time. It all feels very precious. 🥺 There was also a small stamp set or two.

My only gripe is I wish designers would include less of the popular things, since they've been done and done. I know it's wishful thinking, but just sayin.

Has anyone done DW or Universal in a 3x8? I want to do an album for my son and his friend (more likely for his mom) and I already have 2 3x8s that would work, but I am not sure how hard that size would be DW - thoughts?

Is the friend’s mom a scrapbooker? I know smaller photos and more decoration is the trend in scrapbooking, but a non-scrapbooker would probably prefer larger photos than a 3x8 would accommodate. I don’t know if you are planning to do this as a surprise, but if not, perhaps just ask her if she would like that size and show her the ones you’ve done.

I’ve only done one 3x8 album and the hardest part was not being able to do any horizontal photos. Mine was a travel album and I definitely had some landscapes that would have been nice to include (Alaska!). I did manage one 6x8, sliced down the middle, that spanned two pages, but would’ve included more if I was using a different album size for sure. If your Disney pics can translate well in the vertical format, then go for it.

I would not do a 3x8 for Disney / HPW, but that's because I take photos knowing I can blow them up to 9x12 or larger. However, when I did do my 3x8 for the beach, I did some folded pages that would span larger than the 3x8 size when unfolded. We try to go to the beach every summer to see my Mom, so I do take a lot of photos, but nothing compared to what I take when I visit DW/HPW. That definitely comes into play, too, for me. Our DW/HPW trips each took up two 9x12 albums, but I do craft super chunky at times.

Anybody got a trip coming up? They have been extending hours and raising crowd calendars. I'm a little nervous about that but I'm very excited that we might be able to get one of the new magic bands. They are interactive! This will be a present for my daughter since we're going right after her birthday. I’ve only done one 3x8 album and the hardest part was not being able to do any horizontal photos. This ^ as echoed by others. I have done 2 3X8s. One was a travel journal for a trip that was about 2 weeks and it was bursting after just that. I'm not a chunky scrapper and I use mainly pockets for travel journals and this was thick. Lots of ephemera and lots of photos. 2020 my DD was 3X8 and that was tough even then. They just have a small spine. My friend and I did a quick trip once just the two of us. 1 day at the MK xmas party and 1 day at epcot. That would have been perfect for 3X8. Instead I was crazy and put it all inside a TN I made to fit a pocket right inside the DD. I wish I would have done more with it but it's done and cool. So I think it's a great size but not if you want to use lots of photos. It's mainly because the spine is so small.

Anybody got a trip coming up? We're scheduled for early November. I'm cautiously optimistic, but have 2 different hotel reservations because of their current policies. LOL! Planning this trip is definitely harder than our 2 prior trips.

I've moved our week around between a couple at the end of Sept/early Oct but yesterday my boyfriend texted me "so and so from work bought (yes bought! 🤣) a travel agency and she said she'll help us out" so I need to finally just pick one and go from there. I've been holding out until hotel discounts were released for summer so I wouldn't need to book then rebook once the discount came out but we might just go this route so someone else has to worry about it and I can just keep looking at food photos

Just check the cancellation policy, of course. DW also just raised their ticket prices. What hotels do you like? We stayed at CBR in Feb 2020 and liked it, but might swap it up this trip. My biggest first pump moment for planning so far has been getting a Club level room for cheaper than a regular room at Royal Pacific for Universal. I couldn't believe it.
