I am a bit sick and hoping to recover in time for tomorrow's day trip. Fingers crossed!
First of all, Armin Van Buuren has been confirmed for Electroland as well. Bring it on! The first concrete bits of info regarding the big show for DLP's summer festival (Lion King & Jungle) have dropped and I am beyond excited. Tagging catseatcheese because she'll get to enjoy all of this before I can!
DLP is famous for being very attached to The Lion King and they're taking on reinventing The Lion King show. The daily shows will be held in Frontierland's big indoor theatre (1200 seats). The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands will be 28 minutes long and feature 65 performers (singers, dancers and acrobats). This show has been over a year in the making. Cannot. Wait.
First look:

Great. Now I can cross “got teary eyed looking at a watermelon” to my list of absurd life reactions bingo card! I feel ya, friend, I feel ya. *hugs* Cyril displayed his watermelon in the park today. If you see him carving fruit when you come visit DLP someday, do stop to interact with him and maybe get yourself a sculpted apple. He's such a sweetheart. He even keeps his Cast Member compliments from visitors going by the background of the pic in which he poses with the watermelon.

Updates for any Peas headed to Disneyland Paris during this summer's Lion King & Jungle season, the InsidEars bloggers and vloggers had the preview a couple of weeks back and are posting videos now. Theme song can be heard starting at 2:56 in case the time stamp doesn't work when you hit play. 🎵 We're on our way! 🎶 Donald with his little orange backpack is killing me. May marks the reopening of Phantom Manor after a 7 to 8-month refurb turned into 1 year and 4 months! Many updates including Mélanie Ravenswood, the haunted and haunting bride of the manor, now seen wandering about the grand staircase. Cast members had their first look at the updated ride yesterday. Rumoured soft public openings on Monday and Tuesday before the annual pass holders' soirée (I can't go *cries in French*) and then grand opening on May 3rd. A book about the story of Phantom Manor will be released this summer (and is bound to sell out in a matter of hours). They will also release some other Phantom Manor merch including the manor clock. Somebody hide my bank card! 🙈

Have you ever heard the recording from when the ride opened in DL? It has a story narrated by young Ron Howard. It is really fun to listen to, it is available in the US as a digital download on Amazon for under $10.

It looks like Shimelle is at Disneyland Paris for the weekend with her family, and it was Dapper Day too (so I'm sure they'll have some great pictures).

She's back in business and I'm already in love (can't wait to meet our dirty, spooky manor again in two weeks' time). These first POV videos are not of great quality but they are posting from the park as today was the very first day for the new version of Phantom Manor. Clearer videos should drop later this week. Gah, the ride's gotten even darker and I'm here for it.

Do you know if the design of the exterior is intended to look like the house from Psycho? It sure is! Disney used classic horror movies to inspire the haunted mansions like Beauty and the Beast by Jean Cocteau and The Cat and the Canary by Paul Leni (there is a great article on the subject).

Not sure if this has been mentioned on another thread, but Scrapbook.com is offering a free class with Layle Koncar who is teaching a 6 x 8 (Snap!) class with Say Cheese 4. I took a travel album class of hers in person last summer and she was really such a great teacher and all around nice person to spend the day creating with. You can sign up for a free class. I have used her class with other paper lines to create other 6 x 8 albums and they always turn out really nice.

Scrapbook.com is offering a free class with Layle Koncar who is teaching a 6 x 8 (Snap!) class with Say Cheese 4. Thank you for mentioning it! Off to check the free class out. Alright, I went through the videos. I don't like videos, so I would watch and skip through. They're not super long, but still. I don't think this class was designed for people like me in mind. I've done multiple vacation albums using pocket pages, so a majority of her lessons weren't for me. I know how to crop photos. I do the math in my head when I'm taking photos with my camera so I know I'll be able to blow it up to a full page or bring it down easily. According to her though math doesn't go with scrapbooking - which is absurd, but I guess allows her to advertise their clear plastic things to cut things down. I edit my photos and crop them in Photoshop, but even so, I can easily crop an oversized photo without the use of those plastic things. I know it's about the money, so that's on whoever wants to buy it. If it was that important, I feel like anyone of us who does this, could easily make our own photo templates, but I digress. I didn't feel there was very many helpful things for me, but I hope it's helpful to someone else. IF nothing else, you really get a good look at this line. I really like a majority of it, but not those little kids. I love the half Mickey head, but I won't buy it to use it once or twice... I will say that her fifth lesson did have a couple of cute ideas I will use in the future - her tag attached to the page protector and the final interactive piece that I could see using for castle doors were very cute. I don't recall ever seeing those in pocket pages, but I'm not an expert. So there's my unofficial review in case anyone was interested. I will leave this on a positive note and say that this is FREE and obviously an advertisement for their stuff, but I appreciate it. It's way better than we've been seeing from so called scrapbook places. It also makes me want to purchase the 6x8 album, but I'm a 9x12 vacation girl, so that's out. :/ Also, I totally want that big Mickey head punch that's sold out. I KNOW I CAN MAKE MY OWN BUT I JUST WANT TO (paper)PUNCH ALL THE MICKEY HEADS.

dawnnikol Good to know about the class! The Say Cheese lines don't really hit my sweet spot in terms of colours and I think I know enough about putting 6x8 albums together to watch the whole class but darn, the Say Cheese IV album is super cute (and so are the inserts, I agree). We need to start a Disney exchange club here or something where someone cuts out inserts with an electronic die-cut machine, others send over paper goodies from their local Disney parks, some stamp out sentiments and designs from their Disney-themed stamp sets for those who don't have them, etc. Anyhoo, I'm a few days away from heading back to DLP and this meme is so true... https://www.instagram.com/p/BxHvaPIHf6l

I have sheets covered with waiting times for the rides we want to do without FP for every. half. an. hour of the day. 🙈 I've been opening the Disneyland app on average 20 times daily. I've been colour-coding the sections with the shortest wait times for each ride and been applying more colours to figure out the best itinerary around both parks. 🤪 I take my Disney days seriously... *hon hon hon* I wish she'd show more sneaks! Heading back to Orlando in June with ds & family. I have no agenda of my own; will tag along with them to whatever venues they choose to visit. We all spent 4 days at WDW in August. Was thinking they may want to visit Sea World or Universal this trip, but sounds like it will be Disney again, plus some down time hanging out at the time share.

I have a lot of Disney paper and embellishments. I am thinking of using some of it (the more subdued papers perhaps) to do some layouts from Vegas. My mother always called my college experience "Disney for adults," but clearly she had never been to Vegas. Now that is adult Disney.

When are you going? How long in advance can you book ADR over there (2 months here)? I'm currently trying to figure out our dates for the summer season visits so I can book bullet train tickets. The anticipation between visits is real, I feel ya. Not until End of January 2020. I can book my ADRs 180 days out. LOL! I have it marked in my planner and phone, as if I'll forget that magical day. Do you visit every season? I could imagine that would make a fantastic album to compare and contrast between them all. You don't want to know or see the result of what I've been doing for the past 8 days... I have sheets covered with waiting times for the rides we want to do without FP for every. half. an. hour of the day. 🙈 I've been opening the Disneyland app on average 20 times daily. I troll the Disney app (when it's not busy crashing) and another wait time app I have. We're also doing Universal, so I troll there too. The new Hagrid coaster has me VERY excited. It opens in June, so I'm hoping by the time we go it'll have slowed down a bit or at least be on the Express Pass. I have all these "What if" balls in the air and only time will let them come down and settle. It's fun to imaginary plan though. Oh and there's the Skyliner opening in autumn. They released some of the photos of the wraps on them and they're just beautiful. I envy the time span between your trips! Our last visit was in 2017, but we drive from Kansas so it's about 21 hour drive, including stops, so I'm not sure I could handle it every year. I can't blame them for choosing Disney, although with HP at Universal, I can't visit without going there, too. 4 days would be hard to do them both in though I imagine. I have a lot of Disney paper and embellishments. I am thinking of using some of it (the more subdued papers perhaps) to do some layouts from Vegas. My mother always called my college experience "Disney for adults," but clearly she had never been to Vegas. Now that is adult Disney. HAH! I lived there for years, so I definitely don't compare it to Disney because I was not a fan. At least you'd get to use some of your papers! I hate that all the Disney papers are the red, black, white, yellow. THAT DOES NOT MATCH THE DISNEY PARKS. Frustrating.

My mother always called my college experience "Disney for adults," but clearly she had never been to Vegas. Now that is adult Disney. Don't mind me here, ordering alcoholic cocktails and rum milkshakes at Disneyland. (but you can't elope...) Which Disney paper collections are you planning on using for LV? I can book my ADRs 180 days out. LOL! I have it marked in my planner and phone, as if I'll forget that magical day. Marked and underlined and "exclamation pointed"! The best restaurants are fully booked so quickly, aren't they? Do you visit every season? I could imagine that would make a fantastic album to compare and contrast between them all. Yep, we go for every DLP season and usually twice for the big seasons (summer and Christmas) which is on average 8 yearly visits. It makes for a really fun 6x8 album to look back on. DLP has true four seasons as well so it's really cold and snowy (so magical) in December but hot and sunny during summer. It's the luxury of being able to hop on a bullet train and step off 3h30 later, literally just footsteps away from the security check of Disneyland. I can't imagine having to drive 21h to get there! The new Hagrid coaster has me VERY excited. It opens in June, so I'm hoping by the time we go it'll have slowed down a bit or at least be on the Express Pass. Florida has all the big parks! No HP experience for us here but I'd love to visit Wizarding World someday. It looks awesome! How are you dividing up your time between both parks? I hate that all the Disney papers are the red, black, white, yellow. THAT DOES NOT MATCH THE DISNEY PARKS. Frustrating. The parks are full of pretty colours, loads of bright pastels, but not the German/Belgian flag colour scheme. I wish more scrapbook lines would acknowledge this. I don't buy most of the stuff because it just doesn't fit my photos or memories at all. I know Simple Stories keep saying that all Say Cheese lines can be used together but I'm hoping they break away from those colours and finally offer a collection that is in line with Disney park colours! grammadee Ruh-roh, sounds like they caught the Disney bug... And this summer trip is perhaps turning into a fun family tradition? I bet you'll have a wonderful time there. Do you follow @disneyhungry on IG? Her local park is WDW and she samples all the fun treats they offer (I'm jealous because our selection is so much smaller and less impressive)! Great way to get a little gourmet during your stay.

Marked and underlined and "exclamation pointed"! The best restaurants are fully booked so quickly, aren't they? People are crazy about eating "with" their princesses! I only have one "must do" this time, so I'm not too terribly worried. Although the group size I'm booking for is 8, so that means I should book as early as possible anyway. It's the luxury of being able to hop on a bullet train and step off 3h30 later, literally just footsteps away from the security check of Disneyland. I can't imagine having to drive 21h to get there! 3.5 hours? Man! That's amazing. The "down side" of Disneyland and Disney World are that they are in states where there aren't true seasons. I'd love to see Disney in snow! How are you dividing up your time between both parks? This trip we'll do 3 nights at Universal on property for the early access, of course, then 6 nights in DW. It's our first time staying on property at either and I'm hoping the cost is worth the benefits. I know Simple Stories keep saying that all Say Cheese lines can be used together but I'm hoping they break away from those colours and finally offer a collection that is in line with Disney park colours! I start my paper hoarding for this album early on and keep lots of rainbow / basics. I did pick up a few things from the Say Cheese III that I'll incorporate with them, but not a whole lot. I'm debating on a couple of sheets from the new Harry Potter paper too, but am ALWAYS disappointed they can't get the damn Ravenclaw bird right. How hard is it to put an eagle? I don't see anyone putting a Griffin for Gryffindor! EAGLE, PEOPLE, EAGLE! The color scheme, I can almost get over. The silver looks good with blue, I get it, but still.

The "down side" of Disneyland and Disney World are that they are in states where there aren't true seasons. I'd love to see Disney in snow! Well, it's not quite WDW but here's our humble Disney park under a coat of fresh snow (better not forget your mittens!): This trip we'll do 3 nights at Universal on property for the early access, of course, then 6 nights in DW. It's our first time staying on property at either and I'm hoping the cost is worth the benefits. Ooh, that's a nice long vacay! We love to stay on property: it's convenient, it's in that same magic atmosphere and it's the Disney service we've come to appreciate. With kiddos, I can only imagine how much more fun it is for them to stay in a themed room, have access to the big pools, etc. Extra magic hours is a must. I bet that in the super crowded parks of the USA, EMH is even more important than here. I am going to need the US Peas to post their feedback on Galaxy's Edge, by the way! Our major park expansions will only start being delivered in 2021 so I'm really looking forward to seeing how things unfold across the pond. Can't wait for Frozenland, the European Marvel HQ and Galaxy's Edge. It's literally going to double the size of the Walt Disney Studios park here!

I would be a blubbering mess if I was in a Disney Park in the snow, magic times a zillion! Do the rides all remain open? Some of the rides in the states shut down due to rain. How do they keep the walkways safe and not icy? That video is just lovely!
I am going in December 2020 to WDW for 10 days, I get to book my hotel in July and I am so excited! I can’t wait for Galaxy’s Edge to finally be open so I can fully understand what we will be contending with. I haven’t been since Avatar opened so I guess I should be excited about that too, but I have never seen Avatar and I kinda hate James Cameron so it is a bit hard to be excited about it.
I don’t use any specific line to scrapbook, I just use black paper for the foundation And just use what ever kit best matches the layout I am working on. I usually end up with 2 albums since I take so many photos. One with MK and Epcot and the other with AK and HS. I completely agree with the say cheese line, it doesn’t even match for photos with Mickey Mouse. I love the imagery, but not the colors.
i am super exited about the sky buckets to take us to the parks at WDW, I love staying on site, at WDW you practically need to just for the transportation option. We will be staying at one of the hotels with the new sky buckets and I cannot wait, I hope they are quicker then the buses and not so stressful. I dislike the buses because I feel like able bodies need to stand so older folks, littles and people struggling can sit but that sometimes makes it hard to stay together as a group if you have littles of your own that need to be sitting. Once you are standing you are asked to move back because obviously you need to make room, but you don’t want to leave your little people on a seat if you can’t keep an eye on them.
I love the planning part too. I usually travel with a group and there are obviously times we split up, so I make daily notecards for everyone so they know when and where meal reservations are along with park hours, parade or show times we are trying to go to and any fast passes we have booked along with suggestions for counter service meals. It makes it so nice in case we get separated or one part of the group is dawdly. I am a rope dropper and sweeper outer at the parks and I have no time to fuss about where we are eating counter service meals, so it is all outlined for the people I travel with. I learned after the first trip after we debated for one hour where to eat. You know how many times we could have ridden Buzz Lightyear? Sheesh. If someone wants to eat elsewhere that is fine, but I don’t want to waste precious time discussing lunch!

I would be a blubbering mess if I was in a Disney Park in the snow, magic times a zillion! Do the rides all remain open? Some of the rides in the states shut down due to rain. How do they keep the walkways safe and not icy? There's only heavy(ish) snow a few days per winter season so it's not a major problem to deal with. The walkways are wet, not icy. I think they just use an environmental-friendly de-icer once they've cleared the pathways. It's no hassle in my experience. Some rides are closed but they do work on getting as many open as soon as possible. BTM is rarely closed for over half a day when there's been snow and you get to enjoy a ride through white peaks with flakes twirling around you (not advised without a very large scarf, hat and mittens though)... The park was built to be open all year long in the very diverse climate of Chessy Marne-la-Vallée. It's a valley where you can go from cold drizzle to sunny and warm in the same day. Most rides have been built with this in mind. The lines are mostly covered (we have a lovely walk-through fort to get to POTC). I am going in December 2020 to WDW for 10 days, I get to book my hotel in July and I am so excited! So happeh for you! I can feel the excitement all the way here. Which hotels are you considering (I'm such a nosy cat, I know)! I learned after the first trip after we debated for one hour where to eat. You know how many times we could have ridden Buzz Lightyear? Sheesh. If someone wants to eat elsewhere that is fine, but I don’t want to waste precious time discussing lunch! Right? I have an itinerary in mind (and a B route just in case) and ask for input beforehand. Once we hit the park, you either play along or venture out at your own risk. I'm here for the rides and shows, baby! I'm not a super planner in life but I don't mess with Disney days... Mama needs to see her Phantom Manor a few times. It's been a while.

We are staying at the Pop Century. Nothing fancy for me, all I need is a place to sleep and the littles going along will not mind our sparse accommodation. I was considering the Art of Animation, but the sky buckets swayed me back.
That is interesting about your weather, We don’t get a ton of snow here, but when we do it usually is accompanied by ice.
WDW does have a lot of covered walkways, that is one thing that is so startling different between DL and WDW. Practically no rides are covered at DL, I was so stunned the first time I saw Its a small world at WDW and it was completely under a canopy. WDW summers and heat ( which lasts until October ) is its own special kind of hell.
I am excited to be visiting at Christmas time, I have only been to DL at Christmas time, my favorite time was when Dick Van Dyke preformed the Candlelight Processional and we had second row seats. It was amazing. I have only gone to WDW at Halloween time which is pretty amazing, but I am really excited to see it Christmasy. I really wonder what they will do for Galaxy’s Edge, I hope to all that is holy that they are celebrating Life Day. My geeky little heart might explode, but oh, it will be worth it.
Your Park does a pretty swank Halloween celebration, don’t they?
