We're taking my 17 year old DS to see a college May I be nosy and ask which college? Embery Riddle in Daytona Beach. He wants to be a pilot. I've heard they have a bit of a reputation as a party school. Do you know anything about it?

Do you know anything about it? that's an excellent school - I'm not sure about its reputation party-wise but it's very well regarded for aerospace engineering (dh works in engineering although civil not aerospace)

Any thoughts on the photo pass package? Is it worth it? Are there still a lot of photographers around? We've used it before for family trips with more days in the parks. I just can't decide if it makes sense for this trip. Disney has way, way more photographers than Universal. For me though, photos are so, so important. I always buy the photo passes at both parks. Universal's is kind of a hassle because you can order it ahead of time, but you have to stop in the park to activate it. Disney, you just purchase and it starts when you scan your band in the park. Universal has less rides with photos, too, so if you only want to purchase one park, Disney is always best, IMO.

We're getting ready to leave next week for Florida. We're taking my 17 year old DS to see a college, then spending 3 days at Universal & 3 days at Disney. We haven't been in almost 10 years. I'm starting to get a little panicked and worried about not being prepared. Any thoughts on the photo pass package? Is it worth it? Are there still a lot of photographers around? We've used it before for family trips with more days in the parks. I just can't decide if it makes sense for this trip. I hope you have a great time! I don’t know about Universal, but the Disney photo package was totally worth it to us. However, we spent 6 days at Disney, and only 1 at Universal, so we didn’t even consider a Universal photo package. The Disney photos were great, and they include some shots you can’t get on your own, which is really nice to have.

The Disney photo package allows you to have your whole group in the picture - that was its greatest advantage to me. I also love the ride pics, the magic photos, and it even included some silly video clips that I wasn't expecting.

What is your favorite thing to do on property in the afternoon/evening that is not at a park?
I arrive around noon so I want to do something. First, the pool, obviously.
But then what? What do I not know about.
We're playing mini golf on one of the days. If you haven't done that, I highly recommend it. Going to Disney Springs the day I fly out.

Resort hopping via monorail or skyliner. watching shenanigans (performers) on the Boardwalk, then having some ice cream across the lake at Beaches & Cream. renting a golf cart at Ft. Wilderness, riding around enjoying their resort; eating dinner at Hoop De Doo.

Ft. Wilderness, riding around enjoying their resort; eating dinner at Hoop De Doo. This is what I'm leaning toward: bus to MK, boat to the campground for the campfire with chip and dale, boat to Wilderness Lodge, dinner, fireworks. Boat to MK, bus back to Pop (or if my friend joins me we'll share an uber/lyft)

The No Way José sundae at B&C is one of my favorite food memories/adventures at WDW. 🤤 I stopped eating sugar four years ago, but I’d relapse for that sundae. Happily.

Does anyone know of any TN files that are Disney related?
I think I want to make a TN for my upcoming trip like I did for my Katy trail adventure last summer.
I need something manageable.
I might even bring a polaroid camera. Or sticky notes. Can't decide.
I'm 40 days out from my trip. My 14-year-old helped me get a countdown app on my phone because even though I'm not 50 yet, I could not figure it out.

See, I look at all the colorful summer and travel collections and it screams Disney fun vibes, and I think I just remembered it being a Disney resource for that reason.

Great. I'll look more closely at that summer/travel with a different lens. Pop a mickey in there and it's good to go.
I just spent a good chunk of time finding some cool free downloads that I can use.
I'm excited to make this book. I think it will be much easier to play around while there (and ahead of time), than doing a big production travel journal when I get home.
Nothing like double sided tape and roundy scissors in your carry on.

blemon did you see a bunch of Orange Bird stuff dropped in the Disney store website? Heck yes I did!!!! I need the tank and I'm considering the shorts. I might get the travel mug but I need to see it in person first. There is an ornament on shop disney that I'll get because he's so cute. I'll probably order him online next free shipping so I don't have to carry him home. And did you see the sipper for Flower and Garden? It's an orange bird holding an orange sipper. SO CUTE!! I think there was something else but I am forgetting it right now. Where is that meme that shows me normally (person being frugal with money) then me at disney (throwing cash into the air). Yeah, that's me and orangebird.

Any peas on here have hints and tips for Disney and universal in Tokyo? We’re spending a week at each as it’s just too far to get to the USA for our first trip there 😁 It’s quite different to the USA parks (only visited disneyworld once 20 years ago).

I don’t personally, but there’s a cute Instagramer I follow who posts stuff about Disney in Tokyo. I’m having trouble finding her atm, I don’t remember her name or which account I follow her on (I use several…). I’ll post it when I see it again. Sge posts tips about the various resorts, transportation options, how ticketing works, all sorts of little information things.

The one thing that will be a challenge/not the best is that all the shows and parades etc are in Japanese so we might skip most of those as they’ll make zero sense! But we’ll get to go on most of the “famous” rides, and I’ll finally be able to go on soaring which was being built when I was last at a park in 2004. I’ll keep the peas updated, booking accomodation so far has been quite the challenge but I think we’re getting the hang of it! I’ve done a few practise runs for when our dates open later this week… starting to get very excited. Side note, I’m forty this year and so is Tokyo Disney so we’re celebrating together ✨

I have I 35 for Epcot, 45 for Magic Kingdom, and then of course the 50 from magic kingdom then 100 for all of disney (this year - that I got from being a chase disney cardholder. They release a special pin every year and sometimes I get them).

We're back from our trip. I ordered memory maker, the pictures turned out great. Has anyone ordered the photo pass archive usB or disc? I'm interested in the included 400 Disney images. The ones included were included with the photo pass were great, I would love more from different locations. Any reviews?

Each photo from the account had to be selected to be included and I had to choose size for each image (4x6, 3x5, 5x7, etc!) and if you wanted a themed border added (options varied by location and for magic shots)… meaning the decisions and options were endless. 😵💫😵💫😵💫 I have free photo pass with my Disneyland Magic and it’s two options per pic - “medium” (140kb) or “high” (5mb).

@ fantasvik is the Instagram accounts that is full of Tokyo content. I generally despise reels, but love hers. They are nicely done, narrated, informative. The highlights TDS and TDL are Tokyo Disney Sea and Tokyo Disneyland.

Thanks I’ll take a look - I’ve been binge watching tdr explorer as he has heaps of content on the parks too including food etc. I will still be able to ride splash mountain at Tokyo Disney and a few other rides I remember with fondness from my last trip to disneyworld Florida (although no rocking roller coaster which I rode four times… sigh…) Hating that all Disney parks got rid of fast passes and magic hours first thing in the morning for Disney hotel guests - that was one of the best parts of my trip last time! We will get 15mins early entry which should be good so we can run to the beauty and the beast ride, but I loved being able to get in my top three rides before everyone else entered the park as by the time they got in we could walk straight on the other rides as they were queuing for the ones we’d just been on. So far we’re going all out and booked a room that overlooks the park in the official Disneyland hotel, yolo right! I’m seriously so excited I think I might start compiling spreadsheets, the one issue I have is neither my kids nor hubby want to go on most of the rides with me 😢

I’m on day two of two of our anniversary getaway. Yesterday was DL, today CA Adventure. Posting from the Radiator Springs Racers queue where there’s been a delay of some sort (too common for this attraction!).
Food & Wine is happening, which is sort of fun. I’m gluten intolerant, so my options are ridiculously limited.

blemon - I am currently prepping clothes for our trip the last 10 days of April. It's HARD! We are loosely DisneyBounding - Star Wars day, classic characters day, Lilo/Stitch day, Tron day (maybe we should actually watch Tron before we go? But the colours are Teal, silver and black and I love those colours) I haven't purchased any specific Disney shirts yet and I know I want at least one. It's so hard to choose tho. I am trying to find a Lilo shirt for myself (red with white leaves)
