This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Welcome to March. It actually seems like Spring might be coming. We had a nice day today and the days are getting longer. I see that some of the Pokeys have joined in the March Team Challenges again. I hope you all get some time to be scrappy this month.

Thanks for setting up this thread again, nylene. This is such a welcoming little corner of the internet. Love it! I have a long day, Friday. Need to pay some bills in town in the morning, then head to the next town for my physio. When that is done I will be driving to my ds's home about 5 1/2 hours away. I have been busy this evening finding the stuff I want to take with me on my road trip and getting the challenges set up here.

Thanks nylene. I am going to try to participate more and lurk less this month. Have fun on your trip grammadee. I think this is a quiet weekend at home. My cold is still hanging on, so I am going to sleep a lot. We're going out for supper for my brother-in-law's birthday tonight. I broke my spending freeze (again). DH was in the city today and I got him to pick up some of Prima's Midnight Garden collection for me. It is so beautiful. Have a good weekend everyone.

It actually seems like Spring might be coming. Here, too... My hyacinths are blooming! I think this is a quiet weekend at home. My cold is still hanging on, so I am going to sleep a lot Excellent plan. Hope you feel better. I will be driving to my ds's home Safe trip and enjoy your family. I got your cards today...thank you so much. And thanks to all the peas who sent me cards. My friend and I are enjoying them very much!
I did a page with the earliest picture I could find of us and a more recent one today. I have one earlier one but it is not even as good as this one. My family were not very good photographers, but at least they took a few pictures. I know some my age who hardly have any pictures of their childhood. This is an 8x8 page in my album of special memories.
also this is an 8x8 I did yesterday. A few years ago Walgreens put your picture on a billboard at their Times Square store if you sent a kissing picture to them at Valentines. Then they sent you a picture of it on the billboard! We had been married about 3 weeks. My kids hate this picture!

Hello March and hello Pokeys. I hope this new month is starting off good for you and yours. The weather is a little warmer and I am not so cold. I still ordered a few more warm tops and bottoms and hope to get a little use out of them before our heat returns. Not much exciting this week but hope to have a fun weekend. Here is my lasted post about the Valentine's cards I made for you all. So glad you all enjoyed. I hope everyone got yours, especially our Canadian friends. Valentines Cardsnylene - Thanks for the new thread. I hope your dd is feeling better. grammadee - Have a safe and fun trip to your dd's. justjac- What a kind dh you have bringing you that collection. Take care and I hope you feel better too. @elaynef - You are scrapping away. Enjoy! We have a lot of challenges I see for this month. LisaDV - How is the new house? woodysbetty - How are you hanging in? Before long you will be in your new house and feeling better. How many beds and baths will you have?

nylene and @elaynef, this is me throwing a tantrum @($& (not cussing) about not having spring yet. We're going to have another 3" of snow at least by tomorrow morning. grammadee, hope you are driving safely. Thanks for setting up the threads for us. justjac, I hope the quiet weekend helps your cold. @elaynef, I love the kissing billboard picture!! How fabulous! kellyr21, I assumed the hearts were some mixed media play, I didn't realize it was from one of your pours. Super cool! I'm glad you bought some warmer clothes with the crazy weather you never know when you'll need them. I'm at the farm still. msliz, how's your dd doing with pushing herself? How's life? justlisa7, I had to say outloud "go Cubbie's" when I saw your baseball page. We used to live walking distance to Wrigley. joyfulnana, are you ready for the weekend or do you have to work? So I am not a loosy goosy play it by ear person. I like a plan. The plan can be that if this day doesn't work, we'll do it this day. So having decided I'd just go to the new house when I get ready to go and the weather is cooperating and all is just not my thing. Then Don had a melt down yesterday. It's been 5 months that he's had to work away from his family and HE SO DOES NOT DO GOOD WITHOUT US! So I thought I could be ready to leave by Sunday. Made the plan that barring really bad weather, which it just looks like a bit of snow, we'd go. Then the "I think I might be getting sick feeling" turned into a full blown scratchy throat. I've been taking the bioron coldcalm, airborne, and plan on taking a nighttime cold pill. But that doesn't matter, Don tells me this evening that I need to stay a few days. He'll know more tomorrow when his tracking information updates. Best laid plans of mice and men... Since I'll have an extra day at least, is it wrong if I take tomorrow to scrapbook??? My rationale is that since I need to rest so I don't get the full blown cold, it makes sense.... lol Have a great weekend to all of you, whatever you do!

hi Pokeys!! Loving all the great stuff I am seeing on Flickr...I did realize how hard it would be to scrap with a table the kitchen bar/counter is just okay but we are 76 days away from closing!! It has been an eye-opening experience to realize how ungrounded I am without the safety of my own home...I have a new respect for "snowbirds" folks that live in more than one space each year. I feel lucky as we are so busy that the days fly by, we have already met lots of new people and reconnected with friends we worked with so except for the waiting part life is pretty good. kellyr21 I am doing better, funny the closer it gets the harder it is too wait!! Finding out that I have no patience!! your card sits by my computer and reminds me smile everyday!! Thanks for the check-in!! Sorry to be so hit or miss - I am looking forward to getting back to the fun of scrapping with all of you!! I think that may be a big part of my ungroundedness. Hugs!!

Happy March Pokey's! Thanks for getting us started nylene grammadee how long do you have to do physio? Until your knee gets as good as it can, or do you have set amount of time. I know here in the US, there would be a set amount of time and then off you go to do the best you can. justjac - I lurked a lot last month too. I just wasn't feeling too chatty. And I broke my spending freeze big time! Ordered lots of things lol. Mixed media things like nuvo paste, stencils, inks. I'm so far away from the freezer lol. I guess deprivation of scrappy goodness is not for me But I had good run of a couple months so I will take it. LisaDV I'm soooo with you on this weather! We had more snow this weekend and it's so cold! It looks like for me anyway, this is the last snow for this winter and I'm sooo happy about that. Cabin fever is real! Working from home and it seems like every weekend was a new storm and I'm ready to break out of this apartment! I would absolutely take that day to scrap! Sick or not! I hope you did! My ex worked away from home like Don has while we were moving once too. He didn't do well with it either. Yay! woodysbetty to getting closer to closing! The hardest thing for me about any move is just not being surrounded with all my stuff lol. It makes me a little stabby after awhile lol. That's so good that you're settling into the community though, even without the house @elaynef I love those pages! ESPECIALLY the bill board! How cool is that?! I hope to get more scrapping done this month. I have a ton of layouts in my head I want to complete and I'm going to make more time for that somehow this month. Trying to scrap only on the weekends isn't enough. I haven't even gotten a page a week done like that. I may need to get some layouts in process on the weekend that I can finish up through the week without so much brain power needed lol. Signing up to do a sketch this month, at least I am guaranteed one project! LisaDV I have weekends off thankfully. I work in the RV industry and the camping season is hard on us. After 7 years in this job, you would think I would be used to it, but I never seem to get used to it. Being shorthanded this early in the year just makes it feel busy too soon lol. kellyr21 I didn't realize that heart was a pour! You blog makes it sound like it wasn't as messy as I know it would be if I tried lol. nylene I'm glad you are getting some warmer weather, our turn is coming. 60's in the next couple of weeks! This feels the most like a normal winter and spring than I've seen in several years. But I'm not used to normal anymore lol. Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!

I hate to tell you, but we got lots of snow this weekend. It has snowed on and off since Thursday night. That's what I get for thinking Spring is coming. @elaynef , I looked to see if my spring bulbs are coming up, but nothing yet. I love your pages. That kissing billboard is the BEST. I love the photo! joyfulnana , I hope you were able to get some pages started this weekend. I know when I worked I would go weeks without scrapping and would start getting antsy. I hope you will not be too stressed at work. I don't think RV season is in full swing here yet, but it is coming. woodysbetty , I love seeing your "broken ground". I am sure each day makes a difference. Do they have a projected date for when they will finish? I would not like living between two homes either. I am a homebody! kellyr21 , I didn't realize your hearts on the Valentine were from a pour either. They are so beautiful. I am glad you are trying out some new crafts. LisaDV , I am sending you virtual chicken soup! I'm sorry you are feeling ill. Of course that is the PERFECT time to scrap while you take it easy and keep from getting the full-blown cold!! I understand about planning. I think that has been the hardest thing for me since DH's blindness diagnosis. At any moment he comes in and wants to run an errand or two. I try to get him to plan the night before, but it doesn't seem to help. I know he feels caged and just wants out of the house some of the time. I'm trying to be more flexible. justjac and maribeth , I am so impressed with all your LOAD pages. grammadee , were you doing LOAD along with the challenges here? You guys are all overachievers and I am proud of you!! patin , how are you guys doing? You and DH are still in my prayers. I think we are teammates this month, aren't we? justlisa7 , I hope things are going well for you. Drop in when you get a moment. msliz , you were really scrapping last month. I couldn't believe how fast you did each day's challenge! Have a warm and scrappy week, everyone.

Good Monday Morning. Or at least I hope it good. Here we've had bits of snow every night but I've awoken to bright sunshine each day. So spring must be on it's way. I swear this is one of the gloomiest places in the winter with very little sun. Switzerland was probably worse, but you go up the mountain and you bask in the sun and here there are no mountains to do that. I do have a full blown cold, unfortunately so do both kids. When it rains, it pours. Oh, and the dog (the beagle) must have not wanted to be left out because he threw up like 5 times Saturday night. Or it could be he's a dumba$$ and eats everything he can outside. He was digging down in the snow to eat crap and that's literal. Our silver lining is DH is now happy that we're not with him coughing all over him. Also dd has been wanting to watch How to Train Your Dragon again for days, so that was watched yesterday as well. woodysbetty, it's amazing how fast they can build a house. So you'll be moving in May? Just in time for summer. My FIL is a snow bird. He'd move there year round if he could talk his new wife into it. She's the one with the place there but she refuses to give up the north all together. A second home still has your stuff, unfortunately you are in the between home phase. I've done both, the between home with barely any of our possessions. Actually the new house is like that now too. And the farm was bought as a second home, so it worked because it was ours. I could leave scrappy stuff there if I wanted. We usually were there spring - fall so we were outside most of the time. But I could see the snow bird second home working with a pared down scrap room at one place, where you might be out and about more. Really important things travel back and forth with you. My kids are already making jokes that for me that is my food processor and it'll have it's own seat with seatbelt, etc. etc. joyfulnana, I've told DH 2x now that when retirement hits, I want to RV it across the country. I don't think he thought I was serious, until I said it again. I like to travel and I like my stuff. Seems like a win-win. Will you be getting extra help before the camping season? Signing up to do a sketch this month, at least I am guaranteed one project! laughing, because that's why I signed up in December and January. nylene, that stinky old man winter is just a trickster this year, I tell ya. I hope yours melts away to warmer days soon. Thanks for the virtual soup. As to the At any moment he comes in and wants to run an errand or two , that would drive me insane. But like you, I would try to be more flexible and remind him later about planning things and such. But DH is not a planner. I look at a project, try to anticipate everything I'll need and get that while out running other errands. DH gets what he needs to get started and has 3 more trips to the store before he's finished. Drives me right up the wall. Hope everyone has a healthy day.

(I can't get it to quote your comment about DH not being a planner) LOL. We actually made 3 trips to Home Depot in one day that first month after he gave up his drivers license. He's getting better, but the interruptions are hard. We have to get stitches removed from his last surgery today, another trip to Home Depot and at least one other stop. We think we can do it in one run. That remains to be seen. Hope you and your family feel better soon.

I confess I'd never opened a Pokey Peas thread before. *hangs head in shame* So, this is where we all gather to chit-chat through the month? I've posted my LOs in the March Sharing + Commenting thread so won't double-post here but I can't believe I've been living on a scrappy parallel in the Team Challenge world all this time.

LOL, Welcome to the Pokeys, sleepingbooty! If you post 4 layouts here you can count one Pokey Pea Challenge point! It looks like you got a quick start on the challenges. I took a quick look this morning but will go back and really enjoy them later today. I spent the morning running errands with DH but have taken the time this afternoon to do some scrapping. I haven't scanned anything yet, but will do that and post later. I am anxious to see all the art this Pokey (even tho' not very pokey) group does this month.

Hi Pokeys, I feel like it's been forever since I posted with you all, though like justjac I've been lurking all the while. I'm taking a small breather from my scrapping for a couple of days in order to see to some other things, but I'll have a crop on Saturday. I'm going to use that time to get some Disney photos in order for 2 trips when the kids were little. Then, I'll have them ready to scrap for the big weekend Pea-Crop. LisaDV, thanks for asking about DD. She's making huge efforts to get herself out of the house and put herself out there in social situations despite the pain, vertigo, etc. It's a lot of driving for me, but it's healthier for her. I'm hoping this spring will be a good one for the both of us, and we'll be able to do some light hiking. I hope your DD is feeling healthyish again. I know this winter had some rough patches for her. My other DD's are doing well. One just got back from Quebec with her French class, and another is leaving this week for Death Valley as part of a geology class. And after 28-4-28, I'm just trying to catch up on my to-do list. Mostly procrastinating today actually, but I get a little bit done now and then Waving hi to all !!!

LOL, I must stop joining the challenge teams every month or I will never get every "other thing" done. Sounds like your girls are having great adventures. LisaDV, I'm off to Home Depot, Timberline and a few other stops with DH. He has taken on a project of making little wooden cars for a couple of organizations that help children. We are putting a lot of miles on the car! LOL

I'm off to Home Depot, Timberline and a few other stops with DH. Have fun. It is sweet of him to do the cars. msliz, I'm glad dd's still striving to push herself. We're hoping to have our dd do the same once we're moved. I can't wait for spring. The snow plow guy just called dh to ask if I could move the cars. There's probably at least 6" where the cars sit. This is his 3rd time plowing all the other areas since the weekend. But with everyone sick, I haven't done squat about the outside. For those wondering, I told DH to tell him I'd try to get them moved later today, but I wasn't doing it right then. I sat down over an hour and fifteen minutes ago to rest as I was wiped from very minor chores, thinking I'd sit for a half hour and get back up. .... see where that got me I will say being sick is good for scrap time. I've already created 5 pages which was my grand total for last month. Okay, dd is hungry so I will have to get up now.

After two weeks, I think I am finally getting over my cold. Good luck with yours LisaDV . I hope it doesn't last long. nylene and msliz you are both so sweet driving your family members where they need to go. I hope you are have fun grammadee . Thanks for all you do on the board. I don't usually qualify as Pokey, but I might this month. I had a superproductive February, but I still signed up for the March challenge and Calvinball over on Facebook. Frankly I'm feeling overwhelmed by the options. So many rules! I did make a card for my MIL's birthday this week and a two page layout using a bunch of Snap Chat pic's of my family. I am getting more comfortable using my Silhouette which makes me happy. This is my circusMidnight Garden Card

Welcome sleepingbooty and linda! I'm pretty sure I'm pokey enough to make up for everyone lol. I don't even remember the last time I posted a project in this thread. Wow! 102! That's remarkable! justjac I love that circus layout, so much movement and so many faces! Such a fun one! Your card is beautiful! nylene I'm going to vote for letting you keep that snow, I've had my fill. It was cold here today but sunny and it didn't feel bad when I got out for a bit. I can't even imagine the adjustments you and DH have had to make as you get used to your new normal. msliz how fun for your DD's! And good for your third for pushing herself more. I hope you are able to get out and hike together this spring! Spring - what is that anyway? Something foreign now lol. LisaDV I hope your family starts feeling better soon. I'm not sure I could have been motivated to move cars if I wasn't feeling well. I'm glad you are using the time to scrap. That's a much better use of time DGS is very into How to Train your Dragon right now as well. And Ryan's toy review on YT. That's his favorite right now. That channel used to drive me nuts. But that family has grown on me lol. I have 4 layouts in progress. Two of them just waiting for me to get the prints. I'm intending to finish them during our crop. I need the double points! And I will use this weekend to get my Saturday sketch done so that I'm ready for that! Well I'm going to go check out the sharing thread so I don't get so far behind this month. All you ladies that did the 28-4-28 amaze me. Even if you didn't get them all done. I would love to be doing a LO a day. I'm working on speeding up my process.

Thank you for the welcome, Pokey ladies!
nylene Oh, I'm loving the return of spring too. I turned off all the heaters a week ago since we're hitting 16 to 18°C (60 to 65°F) daily. We even had 23°C last week (74°F) here, on the French Mediterranean coast. I see snow did end up returning to your nook of the world. Is it melting again or are you still living in life size a snow globe?
justjac Glad to hear your cold is resorbing. How was the birthday celebration? I love your 'Circus' LO with all those vertical Snapchat photos. It's so cute and fun. Your birthday card is so elegant. I love the muted colours and flowers popping up in the corners.
LisaDV Are you all starting to recover? I feel for you (although you're getting scrappy stuff done). So much snow! Eep, I'm not used to snow. I don't know what I'd do in such a cold climate (panic, probably).
msliz Yay for your daughter getting out and about. And to you for doing all the chauffeuring. Will you be documenting a recent Disney trip during the crop?
joyfulnana Did you manage to break out of the apartment already? Staying cooped up can become annoying quickly.
kellyr21 Such lovely Valentine's Day cards! I love those mixed media heart shapes. I'm sure the lucky recipients loved them too. Will you soon be working on Easter cards?
woodysbetty You must really be looking forward to the new home. Are you getting anything new furniture/décor-wise for this new place?
@elaynef Oooh, hyacinths! Did you plant loads of bulbs for spring this year?
grammadee How are things at DS's? Having fun? How was the knee after the long drive?

Wow! that's amazing. I had a great grandma live to 100. She lived on her own until her 90s, putting out a garden and all. She did stop chewing rope tobacco just before the 90s. Happy Birthday to your grandma-in-law! justjac , I left love the other day somewhere on that This is my circus these are my monkeys page. I love the title and the layout so I need to say it again. It just makes me smile. I'm glad you are starting to feel better. This cold has acted more like a flu in many ways. We have spiked high fevers, but they disappear to nothing, then all of sudden it's back and then gone again after a few hours. We've definitely felt worse than when we've typically had colds, but it came on slow like a cold and not fast like a flu. Was that how yours was? joyfulnana , 4 layouts in progress at the same time is no small feat. I used to scrap very slowly. Then I arranged my space to leave out my layouts and made a goal of doing something creative for 10 minutes every day. That helped me tremendously. I could rearrange elements, leave them to look at as I walked by for the rest of the day. To see if I liked the placement. When I went to kit club kits, collections, and homemade page kits with the photos and stories added in, it super sped up my process as choosing paper was my most time consuming portion. If I add in sketches, that's even faster. My digital supplies aren't as organized as my traditional so digital takes me longer to put together. sleepingbooty , I think you should share that warm weather! We're up to 20F (-6/-7) today and sunny, so that makes me happy. msliz , Have fun at your crop this weekend. I hope dd took some Quebec photos for you. DS & I both feel better today, YAY! not 100% but definitely better. DD, with her issues, always gets hit hardest and takes longer for recovery. Last night she slept on the couch, which means I pseudo-slept at the foot of the couch sitting straight up. She needed to be more propped up than she could get in bed. Made me really miss by big overstuffed chair that we finally threw out last fall as it was excellent for sleeping in when the kids needed to sleep on the couch. The really super sad thing. We were trying to get to the new house, when we got sick. Since we were sick, DH thought we should stay this whole week and he'd come this weekend with the trailer. It's Thursday and DH thinks we should wait until next weekend since dd is still bad and ds isn't 100% yet either. NEXT WEEKEND IS THE CROP! I was going to have 3 whole glorious days to myself. I know my kids and their health come first. yada yada... grumble, grumble. DH did say he'd come up Thursday, we'd load Friday and he'd take the kids home so I'd have Saturday and Sunday. Sweet man. Or not, because I think he really just doesn't want our germs infecting him. Smart actually, because we are a very huggy, kissy family, and we can't seem to stop even when someone's sick. As to the silver lining, I just finished page number 6 and have logged 4 hours of digital kit unzipping and tagging previews. Downside, I bought another 5 kits.... Positive, They were all 70% off. yay OK, I'm off to make some food and do some light chores. My wish for everyone today is warm weather full of sunshine and good health!!
