Happy Monday! Seeing good vibes your way. I had a fun weekend. It is my dh's birthday today so we had fun over the weekend. Today he got to work half day and afterwards took himself to see Captain Marvel movie. His job surprised him this morning with a decorated office and he said he was really surprised. So nice of them. Tonight, we will probably do dinner and just relax. Did you all hear about the "Butterfly Migration" here in Southern California? I was outside walking last week and I was seeing all these I thought leaves flying near this tree. But was I stood there, I saw they were butterflies. I keep looking and watching to see maybe hundreds fly by. They keep coming and coming. I found out these were "Painted Lady" butterflies and they were flying up from Mexico. I didn't even know butterflies migrated. If you Google it, you will see videos and pictures. I took a video but they were sort of small and hard to get on camera. SO COOL! Glad to see so many of you ladies having fun with all the challenges here. grammadee, you really got the girls having fun. Thanks for this! Waving hi to you all and will check back later.

See what happens when I and the kids start feeling better, I go MIA. Feeling better, means you have to do more housework and such so less computer time. I did have Friday night and all day Saturday to crop. I took a bit of time on Sunday, but that was mostly gathering things for leaving on Monday. It was so lovely to have the house to myself. I said in the crop thread I ate ice cream for breakfast one day. lol. I didn't have to make and eat 3 meals a day plus snacks, although the kids have gotten to where they make their own snacks most days. I came down to the new place Monday (yesterday).
I made Don take us out to eat last night as I didn't want to cook and we're living in civilization again and can do that. lol. So we're out and talking politics when my son says he'll be able to vote in the next presidential. My immediate crestfallen look of course made them all make fun of me and then they noticed that my eyes had sprung leaks that I could stop. I'm never going to live it down and it will be a joke they bring up repeatedly I'm sure. As later that evening we were talking, and I was like I don't understand parents who say they can't wait for their kids to move out. I may joke about it, but I'm really not looking forward to that day. To which Don said by evidence of you crying when you found out ds would vote in the next election. All of them laughed, and at my rebuke, dd said, Dad just said it, we were all thinking it. Maybe I can change my mind....lol .....Needless to say it's good to have the family back together.
I'll come catch up here later today or first thing tomorrow.

kellyr21 the butterflies sound amazing! LisaDV I'm so glad to hear you're all healthy and together again even if you have less scrappy time. I had a great weekend. Saturday my DH, MIL, and BIL, and I headed to the city. We had a little time for shopping and I bought a new dress. Then we went to the matinee of Come From Away. It was a wonderful musical, and I bought the soundtrack. Then we went out for fondue for supper. Delicious! Then we stayed over and hit Costco on our way home. Scrapbook pages to follow.

grammadee - sorry the scrapbooking wasn't working out. That's kind of you to pack up stuff for a family in need. kellyr21 - wow on the butterflies! I would LOVE to see that! justjac - your weekend sounds lovely! I'm scrapping today - working on DS27's 2018 Navy album - it seems to have a lot of gaps in it. Haven't shared the layouts from today yet - I'll do that tonight. Need to stop and do some housework and then take DD12 to the library once DH gets home from work - we spend an hour or so every Tuesday there working on her Girl Scout badges now she's a Juliette and doesn't have a troop. Then we have to head to Walmart for a few things before a late dinner.

Happy midweek, Pokeys!
Am turning into a true Pokey. I have had a two page spread lying on my scrap counter since Monday morning. I am slowly gathering things I think will work on the pages. Cut something on Silhouette this morning, and found a paper pack that had been playing hide & seek. Of course that collection does not have the one image I was hoping for...
No more scrapping for me today. I have my suitcase packed ready to head to Edmonton. Dgs is playing in Provincials this week and his team's first game is this evening. I have a hotel room booked for tonight, will see at least two games. I may extend it to Friday, but not sure yet. The tournament goes until Sunday, but only for those who make the playoffs.
Dh had agreed to go with me, but now he says he would prefer to stay home. They changed his meds after his procedure last month, and the different meds are playing off against each other, so he is working on getting those balanced. Between pills for heart rate, blood thinning, fluid retention reduction, sugar and cholesterol control, and gout, it is quite a balancing act.
Anyway, I need to shut this computer down and get on the road. Have a great rest of the week!

Hi Pokeys! I have missed you all! I haven't even read along much this month or participated in any of the challenges or the crop I signed up for. As I had asked for prayers, etc., I am now able to share what has been going on. First- we had REALLY good news regarding my DH. He has had diabetes for about 15 years now & it seems like he was taking a turn for the worse. We went to see a new kidney specialist & were afraid he was going to recommend dialysis. He said Dh's kidneys looked pretty good & that dialysis was way far down the road IF EVER for him. We happy danced all the way home. Almost 2 weeks ago, I had a major skin cancer removed from my back. They don't know if they got it all, but are keeping a good eye on it. It was performed as out-patient (but totally under anesthesia) surgery. I have a lovely 8-9" incision that makes sleeping & sitting up against a chair back challenging. I am still dealing with heart tests- next up is a CVA scan, so hope to have some answers on that soon. Then the "Bomb Cyclone" snowstorm hit & we were without internet for almost a week.... All of that has contributed to my total lethargy. I really don't want to do much. I hope this feeling passes quickly. Anyway, I wanted to update you & thank you for your prayers for us. I will get back in the swing of things soon!

grammadee -prayers for safe travels and for your DH patin - wonderful news about your DH. Prayers for your healing. Started tackling the yard - it's been sorely neglected the past couple of years between my knee surgery and some other health issues but I seem to be in a good spot healthwise at the moment so it's time to get out there and clean it up some. We have four acres, I neither enjoy nor am good at gardening and I'm the only one with time to do it. DD12 has actually hit that sweet spot where she is both capable of being helpful AND willing to do so - she was very helpful today. We spent several hours clearing out one flower bed by our back steps....we hardly made a dent in what needs to be done but it's a start.

I am having the worst time trying to get into my scraproom. Yesterday I left the house at 8:15 to take DH to work. I had 45 min. at home before I had to pick him up and head for an appt. I was home for 20 min in the afternoon and then off again. I returned from Card Club at 9:45 and realized I had only been home a bit over an hour the entire day. I hope that we can settle down to a better schedule soon! patin, I am so glad to hear that things are OK with you. I hope they got all the cancer removed from your back and that your heart tests turn out great. Congrats to your DH on taking care of his kidneys. I hope that dialysis is far (or never) in the future. Continued prayers for you both. I just have a few minutes, but wanted to let you know that I am meeting up with maribeth next week. We have rain and blowing snow this week, but they are expecting 60 degree weather next week. I think maribeth must be bringing the sun with her. I'll try to get back on tonight later. Have a great day everyone.

We actually have spring weather for the first day of spring. This hardly ever happens this far north. Most of the snow in our front yard has melted, well okay half of it . I don't really trust that we won't get another big blizzard. I fear that lion is prowling! patin that is good news about your DH. I hope your incision heals quickly. linda you and your daughter could come visit me. Our yard is a blank slate. We've removed a few trees that were dying/ a hazard and unfortunately a lot of perennials that came with the house. Some were in two tractor tires that were used as flower beds and they ended up being in the road of our new steps and garage. I have a gift card from my MIL and I'm thinking of getting a nice big planter full of annuals in May when I know for sure it won't freeze. grammadee I hope you are having fun watching hockey and I hope Al's meds get figured out. nylene I hope you have a chance to sit down and relax. Preferably while being crafty. I have my photography class tonight. Plus I have to pick up a door prize for a fundraiser my work is putting on. I can't believe it's Thursday already. The days are pretty slow (my students' attendance is pretty bad this week), but the weeks pass so quickly. I need to see if I can get an appointment with a new hairdresser. My old one recommended her since she (the original) is traveling a lot and can't fit me in. I kind of feel like I got fired by my hair stylist!

Hello Peas
March has been busy, and not as fun as I had hoped. I really wanted to do well at Calvinball over at Scraphappy, but life got in the way. Not that I didn't get a ton accomplished I had to make 65 friendship cards for the retreat next week, and I chose to may 65 little paper house to put a few candies in for the ladies. I did get some courthouse pages completed. Of course I have loaded up my car with my entire scrap room for my week long trip, and I hope to get some scrapping in before the retreat begins and maybe in the evenings.
Hoping I can join you in April, if not for the challenges at least posting layouts, cards and ATC's that I complete. But of course camping begins in April and continues through May so there is that to contend with as well.
My best scrafting months are June, July, and August. We don't do much in the summer (too hot to camp), so I can usually spend lots of time in my craft room then.
Have a wonderful rest of March, don't know if I will pop in while on retreat but I shall try.

Happy Friday! Finally Friday lol - I feel like I've not been around in forever! Every night I tell myself that after work I'm going to jump on and check in with everyone, and check out the creations and I'm so brain dead it never happens. The butterfly migration sounds awesome kellyr21 and I really want to see Captain Marvel, did you guy enjoy it? I'm going to try and sneak it in this weekend I think. My ex-MIL died this week, on my XH's birthday no less. She had demintia and had been going downhill for quite awhile and being cared for at home, so while it's sad, she's much better off. The funeral is Tuesday, and her grandsons will be pall bearers. My youngest taking it all pretty hard. I'm taking off work to attend the funeral and spend some much needed time with him. I haven't seen him since Christmas with the crazy winter weather and I miss him! It was a beautiful perfect spring day here! It's been so pretty all week! linda, I am so not a work in the yard or gardening person either. Although I do usually buy some annuals for the deck each year. I can't imagine having 4 acres to tend to! Your DD's living history costume turned out beautifully! I don't know how you find time to do it all. msliz I LOL'd at your trip to the LSS. That's how I shop too when I get a chance to shop in one. I go through the entire store more than once lol. Can't wait to hear about nylene and maribeth's meetup! I'm sure it's going to be a ton of fun! LisaDV I'm glad your family is all under one roof again. I wasn't excited at all when my kids moved out. I also kept saying DS1 wasn't old enough to be a dad, even though he was 31 at the time! patin I'm so glad your DH got such wonderful news! I'm sorry about your skin cancer, I hope they got it all and that the incision heals quickly! I'm going to go leave some love in the sharing thread and maybe, just maybe pull out something to work on this weekend.

shinyhappytina, You're in Indiana. Our new place is just north of South Bend. For shopping we'll be going to Mishawaka. We did live in Munster for years as it was right over the border from Chicago and was cheaper to live than Chicago/Illinois side, and I have a nephew in Evansville. 25 pages is awesome!! Congrats. Linda, I'd love to see your Lenten ornaments. I said at the crop this weekend that the GS cookie page made me want thin mints, so yesterday while grocery shopping I happened to be going down the cookie aisle looking for dh lunch items and saw Keebler Grasshoppers. Just like GS thin mints the package is almost gone already. lol. I hope dd12 keeps that sweet spot for a long time. As dh & I keep telling each other every little bit helps move it forward. Have fun with the living history experience. knutschen, I hope that work becomes less stressful. I'm glad your dh is ok, but sorry he had an accident. Do you prep page kits for your crops? but my mind seems to be moving with the speed of what my grandmother called treacle this morning My Dad would have said moving slower than molasses. maribeth, enjoy your trip and meeting with nylene. kellyr21, happy belated birthday to your dh! I'm so jealous that you get to see first hand a butterfly migration. My family has talked about how cool that would be to see. How did those nail tapes work? justjac, sounds like you had an awesome weekend. What are you doing for this one? Did you get an appt with the new hairdresser? patin, YAY for good news on your DH. Please keep us informed with regards to your heart testing. I can not imagine stitches in my back. I'd be miserable. I tend to sleep on my back. Hugs. nylene, whew! I would probably have just stayed gone, brought a book to read or something like that instead of heading home. I hope it settles down for you soon. joyfulnana, I'm so sorry about your XMIL and that your DS is having a hard time. hugs! I won't be saying that about ds at 31 being too young for kids, because they don't get to date until they're 32! lol. I meant to get back on all week and read and respond but it has not happened. I haven't gotten very far cleaning either. I seem to be on slow mode. Hopefully next week will be better.

Missing in action big time here this month - so sorry! I hope you are all doing well. joyfulnana - so sorry about the death in your exes family. So glad you can be there for your son and attend. Hugs! patin - hope you are doing well and they got it all. Hugs and prayers! ❤️ nylene and maribeth - so lucky to meet up!! nylene - hope life settles down and you find time to relax some. LisaDV - hope you get stuff done in the house that you want/need too. We just had our cabinets painted white (what a huge difference!), and I have been taking so long getting everything put back in them. Thank God for a husband that helps so much or I would get nothing done. Lol. How far of a drive is between your two homes? grammadee - how was your trip to watch your grandson play? Hope your husband’s meds get figured out soon! Life has been crazy busy here - so much going on at work, my husbands work and as always lots and lots of family stuff. I am seriously exhausted. Been dieting and it is hard - need to start exercising today and stop putting it off. 2018 was a hard year for all of us with my father, my mother in law, and my 17 year old dog passing. I am a big stress eater and now need to get healthy again and lose some weight and keep drinking water too - plus exercise (I can be so lazy with putting that off). Not just to fit in my clothes gain, but to be healthy for me. I have been taking my vitamins again too, and hoping to get my immune system good again too. Also, my family doctor of almost 20 years - wants me to get healthy and is encouraging me. So nice to have the same dr for so many years that knows everything about you and your family. I have been scrapbooking and it feels good. It’s nice to do something for me too sometimes. I have 5 layouts done already and my goal is 7 this month.

kellyr21 The butterflies sound beautiful!! I will have to search for a video to see that. LisaDV I feel like some of the stress related to several staff members leaving is settling down. It makes me sad of the nurses I have worked with for several years are gone. I always have plans to make kits and time gets away from me. I hope that I can have some sort of plan before going to my scrappy weekend in April. I need to start an album of my kitties. nylene My furry friends are doing good. The kittens are now 1. They were born sometime in February. They are getting big!! Lola is a bit bigger than Sophia. Phoebe turned 11 this month. I took Phoebe in her tutu to the St. Patricks day parade. She loved it and everyone wanted to pet the pug in a tutu. justjac I have yet to set up my Cameo 3 but hope to today or tomorrow. I have a project to do for work that I want to use it for. I don’t remember the features in the Cameo 2. I know the Cameo 3 has a digital screen and an auto adjusting blade. There are also two spots for blades? I am not sure how to use that. I can’t wait to set it up! I have been busy organizing my home to get ready for my windows to be installed. They are coming on April 6th to do that. I also am hoping to meet with my guy doing my roof to pick out shingles. After I get all this work done, I hope to refinance my home. I need to get my house spotless for an appraisal. I have been bagging up stuff to donate. I have lots of clothes that are 20-30 years old!! They need to go. It is supposed to storm today but it is a nice day currently. I am hoping to take Miss Phoebe for a walk and then do some housework I need to get done. I am glad I have tomorrow off from work to get more done on my to-do list.

Hi Pokeys. This is the eve of meeting maribeth. I am really excited. I programmed it into my phone and it looked like it was going to take twice as long as I anticipated. Then I noticed a big detour. On the news tonight they said a huge pothole developed on bridgework, large enough to see the through the hole to the roadway below. So the freeway was completely closed. We only have one large corridor through the state, so the detours looked ominous. I just hope you weren't traveling through there at that time maribeth. I don't know how long it will take to repair. kellyr21, your butterfly migration sounds so wonderful. I love butterflies and dragonflies. My daughter's front yard was once covered with hundreds of dragonflies for about an hour. They weren't on any other yards around, but we sat and watched and enjoyed them. Thanks for the info about the white stenciling. I couldn't figure out your process. It is so beautiful. grammadee, my dad used to say "you are moving like slow molasses!" Lately I feel like I'm on the run and moving like lightning...except that my knee slows me down. LOL. I have a page to post, and I made a card or two while waiting in the car. I hope to get them posted before the end of the month. I am SOOO looking forward to a calm and enjoyable day with maribeth tomorrow. The whole day is just mine. DH has his eye treatments tomorrow but DD is going to be his chauffeur. I think I will enjoy a "day off". I need to run, but I'm waving to each of you sweet scrappers who add meaning to my life!

Good Sunday evening. Good to hear from you, knutschen. I hope your work stress will calm down soon, and getting ready for a reno does not sound fun. Glad you have your pets to help you find your inner zen. Hope your medical news is all good, patin. Dealing with illness and fear is no fun. Travel safely, maribeth and nylene. And have a wonderful time together! justlisa7, I am glad you are getting some scrapping done. Hope it helps reduce the stress surrounding you. Sorry to hear about the loss of your kids' grandmother, joyfulnana. Glad you can be there to support them. I am home tonight, and ready to crawl into bed for a good long sleep. Drove up to Edmonton on Wednesday and stayed until Friday evening, watching dgs's five round robin games. They won the first four and lost the last one, which put them in 2nd place. I drove home after their Friday evening game. On Saturday we attended the local dinner theatre performance. Meanwhile dgs's team lost their semi final game. Then this morning we were in the vehicle by 6:30AM and got back to the arena in time to watch them WIN the bronze medal, then back home. I got to take photos from the team bench for the medal presentation, so I am a happy scrapper. Dh is still not feeling tip top, but he has more energy than a week ago, and he decided to go with me for our one day road trip today. Did him good to see the grandkids, too, I think. Okay. Off to bed.

justlisa7, Good for you, getting healthy. DH & I have been saying we're going to diet and get back to exercising, but it keeps getting pushed off. For DH just having me here so he's not eating processed foods and fast food will be a help to him. But I have to give up my sweets and soda. Once I get over the desire for them I tend to be okay with having it just once in a while like once a week or once a month. But DH is all or nothing. knutschen, good luck with your house projects! from someone who really understands the frustration. lol. Linda, so glad you and dd had a good time. nylene, I hope you are enjoying your visit with maribeth. maribeth, I hope you are enjoying your crop. grammadee, congrats to your dgsons. Glad you got some good photos too. We started tackling the living room yesterday. It had a linen look wallpaper. Well, I found that if I took the strings all off, the wallpaper removal was a breeze. We've still only did one wall (and I still have just a smidge on it.) DS was having fun with the steamer. Of course, you can see where I worked and where he worked, as I'll have to go back over his area. DH started working on the woodwork. He did the archway and 2 ceiling beams. I felt bad for him, working above your head is hard work and tires my arms out just watching him. Not to mention I know how much work it is to get that nicotine off of the wood. You have to really rub. But the wood looks a full shade lighter at least. I also felt very happy that I wasn't going to have to do the ceiling beams. Today I'm off to the store, as I've gone through my distilled water for the steam machine. And just doing some house cleaning. I know DH said he was doing some, but it definitely wasn't the bathrooms. I tackled the powder room last week, I started the master last night and need to finish it today. I think he was just picking up his stuff so I wouldn't say he's a slob. But he is...just saying. That will be the extent of my week unless I make time for a layout in there. Hope everyone has a fantastic week with not many chores but more fun.

LisaDV - It is not really a crop, we are going to learn to make mini albums and folios. I went last year. Not really my style of scrapping, but it is the only place I have found close enough for me to drive to meet up with a bunch of crafty ladies. I long for human companionship with crafty others. And today is the day I get fellowship with nylene, I am so excited.

Hi Pokeys. This is the eve of meeting maribeth . I just hope you weren't traveling through there at that time maribeth . I don't know how long it will take to repair. nylene - Yes I go stuck in that. However I didn't know what it was, there was no work going on, and I did not see a pothole, but then again I didn't know to look for one. Frankly though that was the least of my stress, moving along at a snails pace is much safer than driving at 80 miles an hour in the rain that was falling. I won't lie, it was a stressful drive once I hit the I-15 corridor. You be careful and don't stress about time I will just be hanging out in my room.

Some Passbook Pal stamps I made last night after settling in to my hotel room here in Farmington Utah for my retreat. maribeth and nylene - have a wonderful time meeting up! Don't forget a photo or two! LisaDV - wow lots of work - glad that DS and DH are working too. I hear you on the difference between our housework and our DH's... DD12 making candles at her living history event. She had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back again next year! DD18 was very brave and took a Greyhound from/to college to come to the event - she has some anxiety and new things are really difficult for her so I was especially pleased that she not only took the bus but also booked her tickets and figured out how to get to/from the greyhound station by city bus.

I just had the most awesome lunch with nylene. Wish would could have spent all day together. Never enough time to visit with someone as wonderful as Nylene. This made my trip extra special!

maribeth, sorry you got stuck in super slow traffic, but I agree better that than rain and 80mph traffic especially when you are not very familiar with the area. So happy that you and nylene got to meet up. Linda, dd looks happy making her candles and so cute in the outfit you made. and Yay to your older dd for doing something so brave. Off to start my day: a mix between project work and more cleaning as I ended up talking with my sister for 2 hours yesterday and not getting nearly enough finished. We used to talk every couple of weeks but now it's every few months as she's busier with grands (expecting her 4th soon - she had just gotten back from Texas and the expectant momma with her other 2 babies). And Don has taken most of my phone talking ability with his travels and need to talk. I only have so much phone time in me. lol

maribeth and nylene - so glad that you were able to meet up - how fun! LisaDV - thanks so much! Both girls had a wonderful weekend! Good luck with your projects and cleaning. I got my whole house cleaned yesterday and I thought I had gotten all caught up on laundry but somehow managed to hang 4 loads on the line today anyway (ok - one was the towels I washed last night when it was too late to hang them out and two were sheets and a comforter but...). No scrapbooking today - I ordered photos and made 3 more ornaments and read a book (which sadly I didn't really enjoy ). Now I need to plan out what I'm working with DD12 on at Girl Scouts tonight...
