This is the first minute I have had to get on the computer. Yesterday was the most wonderful day. I can't describe how sweet and caring maribeth is. Just as it was time to leave I realized that my phone was blocking texts. Steve sent me to the T-mobile store thinking it was a quick fix. I got stuck in the T-mobile store for 45 min. They tried everything and finally had to put an engineer on it so will not be fixed for 24-48 hours. Luckily the phone part worked so I could keep in touch with maribeth and Steve. I got a late start but that didn't bother maribeth. We met at Cafe Zupas which is a great lunch spot. We visited for over 2 hours. It was so much fun to get to know more about her. She gave me one of her Artist Trading Cards that is gorgeous. I have taken a photo of it, and I have a photo of the two of us together, but I need some help to download it to here. Hopefully I can post it after our meeting tonight. It was really hard to say goodbye. I wish she lived next door!!! I need to run pick up some books before our Addiction Meeting tonight. I'll get back on after the meeting.

Yes nylene, such a wonderful meet-up. I too wish I lived next door so we could craft and visit all the time. The time just flew by. I have spent today in my hotel room making Passbook Pal Stamps with all the extras the ladies send with their trades. I offer them up for grabs to the lady who sent the extras first, then for trade to the entire group. I sure have fun making these stamps and ATC's. If anyone is trading ATC's here let me know. nylene, have a wonderful meeting tonight, I may not be back one here until I arrive home on Monday as the festivities of the retreat begin in earnest tomorrow.

So glad you managed to get together, nylene and maribeth , even with the technical difficulties of road construction, rain, and loss of texting function. And glad you enjoyed your time together. Looking forward to the photos. Your dd looks really sweet, Linda . I am amazed that you were able to sew her costume. Stripping wallpaper does NOT sound like fun, LisaDV . The only ladder work I have had to do was to change the battery in the smoke detector. Of course neither of us remembered how to do that, but I got a photo of the model # with my cellphone and then looked it up while dh was in town so was able to call him to tell him to buy 9 volt batteries. Then this afternoon, I looked up on my ipad how to change the battery and was able to do that while dh was helping his nephew with the cows. I finally finished the LO that was causing a huge log jam in my brain. I got carried away with the pirate theme. Escape Adventure by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Since I finished this LO this morning, I have been able to [almost] finish a second two-pager; this one for the next Sketchy Saturday. Even with changing the theme of the new LO mid stream, I was able to just grab, glue and go. Some things are drying and I need to add journaling, but it is essentially DONE. Can't share til Friday evening. Can't believe March is almost over. BTW the signup thread is up for the April Team Challenge HERE

It took way too much brainpower to get this from my camera to where I needed it to post it. Here is the photo of our meeting yesterday. Such a nice relaxing and fun day. Maribeth & Nylene This is the Artist Trading Card she made for me. It's so gorgeous in real life. The rose is colored with alcohol inks. I just love it. maribeth does wonderful scrafting! joyfulnana, I am sorry about the loss of your XMIL. I hope your DS is feeling better about it. It’s hard to loss a grandparent. Hugs to all your family. justjac, I think your students must have Spring Fever. Our attendance at our Recovery meetings really drops as the warm weather comes. It’s not very warm, but we have seen sunshine for a change. justlisa7, I admire your efforts at dieting. I need to get back on mine, but I get so grumpy! I can hardly stand myself and my DH just laughs at my grumpiness. It’s such a hard, life-long battle! Best wishes to you. I hope you get some time to be scrappy. knutschen, new windows??? How wonderful. Our heating bill went down dramatically when we replaced ours with double panes years ago. I know you will love them. Have you played with the Silhouette a bit? I was sure I’d never be able to work it, but Cindy ( scrapincin) walked me through some sticky points. I have loved mine. Linda, I’d love to see your Lenten ornaments. Post them here too. Love the photo of your DD making candles. My kids loved doing that during 4th Grade Utah history. You sound very busy right now! LisaDV, your wallpaper removal sounds like a lot of work. I can hardly wait to see photos of the finished project. I’m glad you have a couple of helpers. grammadee, what are you doing on a ladder?! I banned us from ladders after my first broken wrist! We are lucky to have some kids living close that aren’t afraid of ladders. You are pretty crafty to figure out how to change that battery. Hooray for you! Looks like you have things set up for next month’s challenges. The way I am going the few pages I have started may end up on next month’s points. I'll go sign up. maribeth, I love your passbook items. I will leave you love on them on Flickr. Steve was very impressed with your ATC and asked about the alcohol inks. He said, “Do you have those? I think you need those!” I’m sure he has no idea of the cost....I ought to just run with the suggestion! I hope you are loving the classes, the women attending and your roommate. I hope you have the most wonderful getaway for scrafting! I need to get going. I’ve spent all morning waiting for a repairman, a FedEx package, and our Bugman to come. I’m hope for a bit of scrappy time to finish these half finished pages. Sending hugs to all you sweet Pokeys. You all brighten my days.

grammadee, your layout is fantastic. I love all of it! Those little blingy bits on the toadstools and the bling coming out of the pirate chest with the lock around the s in escape are the perfect touches. I don't mind the ladder if I have it next to a wall, but otherwise, I'm kind of scared of ladders. Luckily Don handles most of the battery changing of the fire alarms. I kind of go overboard with them. He does a check every June 1st with a battery change out. Of course, the one outside the kitchen at the farm had to get put on top the hutch, because they don't have a way you can yell "I'm just cooking" to turn it off. nylene, thanks for posting the photo. You and maribeth look so happy to be together, like lifelong friends. I know you posted on flickr about claustrophia and escape rooms on my layout and on Dee's. I am claustrophic, as well. The room we were in would have made me a bit anxious if it had more than the 4 of us in it, but with just us, it was fine. It was a 7'x12' room. and It actually opened up into 2 more rooms which helped, once of course you figured out how to open the doors. lol maribeth, your ATC is very pretty. Today was fairly non-productive for me. If I have many more of these days, Don may need to get rid of me. Of course, his mom is coming for dinner on Sunday, so I'm probably good this week. His mom has issues, lots and lots of issues. I did find a CSA since we won't have a garden. And the CSA turned me onto 2 farms close by that sell farm fresh eggs. I miss my eggs and my chickens. I did post this poll about whether you'd like to have a crop for iNSD. Go take a look.

Hi everyone! LisaDV I lived in South Bend and worked in Mishawaka for 4 years before I made the move back to KC to be a gramma! What a small world and dang that would have been so cool to have a pea close by! I miss that area a lot, KC is just so big and I really prefer a smaller town. justlisa7 I'm right there with you on the weight loss and getting healthy. I joined WW again and I'm sucking at it lol. I have a hard time finding time to exercise as well, no matter how good my intentions are. Things just seem to get in the way of it. Your trip to Hawaii is coming up soon isn't it? That's going to be nice break. linda that's a huge step for your DD! That's awesome, I can't say I would be able to do the same thing. I don't mind driving by myself long distances, but for some reason trying to maneuver public transportation terrifies me. You did a great job on younger DD's costume and she looks like she is having such a great time! grammadee you have been busy busy! But making some great memories! That's great that DH got to spend some time with the grands. You see quite a lot of them considering they don't live nearby! I love that LO! There are so many interesting things to see! Ugh. Potholes. We have so many this year and they are huge! I think I heard there were triple the number we had last year! maribeth and nylene lots of obstacle to overcome your lunch sounds so fun! And you ladies look like the sweethearts you are, I love that photo! Wow maribeth the ATC is gorgeous! And I love your passport items! I'm so glad you both had such a good time! nylene I LOL'd at Steve saying you need alcohol inks. If they only knew! lol The funeral day was a long one. But it was good to see my XH's family. I didn't realize how much I had missed them and they were very welcoming. The boys are both doing pretty well. Seeing his family made me miss my own. We have all grown apart so much through the years and I'm going to do what I can to reach out to my sisters more often and try to develop closer relationships with them again. I'm all signed up for the April challenges even though I will be knitting that Christmas stocking for the 100 days project, but I'm going to try to slip a few pages in for April as well. I will leave the ladders to you brave ones. I don't like heights or ladders lol. I hope everyone is having a great week!
