TOTORO!!!!!!!! I am dying you found that. I would have squealed. Yes, I do squeal when I find great things at the thrift store, lol. I love you bought horses for yourself. I do those things too. You spoil your niblings. I bet you are their favorite. Haha, well my gifts (or our family's gifts, I find the stuff, Mum pays for it) are generally the most well recieved, to the point where it's best if the niblings open those last as all they want to do after getting a big box of animals (or Playmobil, or Duplo) is play with it! Understandably so. I've never actually met either kid in person though. It's not hard to buy kids gifts. Just pick the stuff you'd want to play with! I love the idea of your planners for die/stamp storage. That is an amazing idea. I know my stamps I would need 50 planners, lol. I love the idea for my die collection.
Nothing really exciting thrifting craft wise. Found a lot of things I needed for my home. I am always grateful. I'm probably going to need at least ten planners to hold all my dies eventually, and 4-5 more for stamps. They do work better for dies, as you can not fit nearly as many stamps in one since they're thicker. I have few enough that it works out. Most of our best stuff comes from thrift. Recent additions included extra gravity latch hooks for the shed, a teak chopping block, artesian wool skeins, brew bottles for kombucha, and a whole big bucket of Lego. Lots of times we don't find anything, but it's a matter of going regularly. It's not hard to spot the flippers, they usually have their phones out looking up stuff all the time. I haven't seen any of them actively hide things, but then we usually go on the senior's discount days so they're probably buying rather than stashing. Yours sound downright rude!

Super pleased to have found these My Neighbour Totoro stamps for 3$ yesterday. Previously used but they cleaned up to nearly new condition. Tagging along are some nice Schleich animals for the niblings and a couple of horses for myself. Also grabbed another 7-ring planner to add to my growing die/stamp storage system for 3$. TOTORO!!!!!!!! I am dying you found that. I would have squealed. Yes, I do squeal when I find great things at the thrift store, lol. I love you bought horses for yourself. I do those things too. You spoil your niblings. I bet you are their favorite.

On the topic of finding things in different areas. I watch the flippers hide things. I go over and peek at what they hid and if I like it I will snag it. It is my "I have no shame" thing. I know the flippers in my area. A lot of them are very rude, competitive and just downright mean. I was shopping one time and I watched this flipper hide baby clothes all around the store. This young Mother was so upset trying to find baby clothes. I walked around the store and got all the baby clothes and gave them to her. She was so excited. Take that you flipper who was bragging the week before just how much money you make off stupid Mother's and their baby clothes! No, I don't take hidden things from people in my neighborhood who I know they need it to fall at the 50% level so they can afford it. I have my thrifting values.
I hope you all never get the flippers who take things out of your own cart, including your purse. That was my rage moment.
👏🏻 You go girl!

Think I did pretty well today! Not my usual stuff so I'm not sure what original retail might have been on everything, but a few of the paper sheets were marked with 1.29$ price stickers. Is this a normal price for a single sheet of non-fancy double sided paper? Yikes. Up first we have kate & co. / My Mind's Eye, 'Cambridge Court'. I think I got most of a set here - there's a 6x6 pad (brand new, took off the clear sticker myself), some enamel dots, fancy brads and sticky buttons. One 12x12 sticker sheet, and 12 cardstock sheets, look to be all different patterns. Next is October Afternoon 'Thrift Shop' (how appropriate!) Shape Stickers, Schoolroom Alpha Stickers & Journal Cards, a whole pack of 'Report Card - Bus Route', Seaside 'Yellow Bikini' and 'Seashells', 5 & Dime 'Jawbreakers'. Very weird name for paper with vintage advertisements on it. 0_o; Third pic is Echo Park Victoria Gardens 'Windchime', 'Rose Garden' & 'Journaling Cards'. Last of the paper and entire reason I bought the stack is October Afternoon's Weathervane 'Crunching Leaves'. Love the woodgrain option on this one, and there's 11 sheets of it. Rounding up today's finds are a Martha Stewart 3-ring planner with some sweet journalling pocket inserts, two sets of Amy Butler card kits from K&Company, and two embossing folders; Craft Concepts 'Leafy Flourish' and Couture Creations 'Walrus & Carpenter', another hilarious name. Total for everything came to 17$ and change. Left behind a lot of stuff over the last few weeks, mostly for being overpriced. They had a couple cuttlebug & spellbinders embossing folders for 5.99$ each, Stampin' Up sets of 4-5 rubber stamps for 7.99$ each, a set of dies that were free with a magazine purchase for 6.99$, a sidekick with no plates for 4.99$, one of those clip-up rotating carousel stands for 9.99$ with no clips, and a bunch of 24-36 sheet cardstock pads at 4.99$. Nothing terribly exciting in them, just the usual floral-bleh generic stuff. Bonus for @amayalylac , since I think you'll appreciate this. Just over 10$ for this AGS-101.

Is this a normal price for a single sheet of non-fancy double sided paper? Yikes. For a thrift store? No! I like shopping at scrapbooking-for-less.com/ for that reason. It's usually 2 papers for $1.20. It's slightly older lines, but I never stay caught up on the latest stuff.
You got some excellent items!
ETA: I see you said the original price. Anyway, that does sound right. Aren't you in Canada?

Yep, I'm in Canada! And yes, that's original retail - I paid ~5$ for all the paper as a bundle. There's a bit over 50 sheets in total. No way I'd put down 1.29$ unless I had a project in progress that HAD to have that EXACT piece of paper, and nothing else would do.

Not thrift store, but thrifty. I bought a lot of stuff from someone who doesn't have time to craft anymore (a fellow mom of 3) from the FB marketplace. Offered her $20 less than she asked and she accepted. I bought it mostly for the Greeting Farm and Lawn Fawn stamps (2 of the sets I had the dies for, but not the stamps...the alphas and numbers didn't need the stamps to work) and only had 2 repeat stamps in it (2 of the TGF ones). There were a variety of single TGF images and a few of the 4x6 sets and around 10 LF sets (mostly 4x6 but a few 3x4). The stamps alone were worth at least $150 retail, but she also had some other random stamps (including a custom address one with her name, her husband's name and their address...which I thought was hilarious), embossing tools and powders, ink pads, punches and 3 Thirty-one bags that some of the stuff was put in. There was also a bag of twine and washi that I gave straight to my kids (there must have been at least 6 spools of twine and 100 rolls of washi) and a few other random items, too. It is the best bargain I have found as our resale market is smaller than a lot of big cities, which means people tend to ask for more money than in nearby states (like California). $80 is still a lot of money, but when lawn fawn is hard to find for a good deal even secondhand, I thought it was more than worth it.

(including a custom address one with her name, her husband's name and their address...which I thought was hilarious) That IS hilarious! You'd think that would be something to keep, or at least destroy rather than passing along to a random stranger... 'here, have my full name and address, nothing bad could ever come of that!'. Nice score of stamps! I've yet to see a single LF item in the 'wild', so I can imagine most people are either selling directly like your case, or simply hanging onto their stuff. Can't blame 'em given how much LF stuff runs.

We've had some very interesting things fall into our hands. One time we found an ipod and spent ages trying to contact the person...thanks to a notification that popped up, we were able to figure out who she was (her wallpaper matched her name on Instagram which is where the notification came from...it was otherwise pw protected) and spent about 2 years on and off trying to reach out to her and her family when we found her on Facebook before we finally just gave up (this was before you received notifications for message requests). She finally replied last year sometime, but we don't even know where the thing is anymore. It's probably been somewhere around 4 or 5 years since we found it, lol. We also have a memory card we found a few days after Christmas one year of photos from a family's Christmas morning. Unfortunately, we were never able to find out who they were...one of the big deterrents to that one was that my husband relied mostly on the date and location we found it when he posted about it, with very few photos from the card...they were mostly of kids and he didn't want to put photos of stranger's children online even if the intentions were to get the card back to the right people. I have the stamp in the kitchen and will probably destroy it at some point...just cut up the rubber and sand down the block.

Oh Embri I do love it. Game Boy Advance SP was the best. There is still a hot market for it. Do you have any games yet? It had such a great library. I traded mine when I got the DS Lite. I regretted it. I love your haul. All your treasures are divine. I think my favorite of your crafting treasures is the Martha Stewart planner. That's my favorite color, lol. I do love everything. I know I would still be admiring everything. Yes, it's definitely true that scrapbook paper is market at $1.29 and higher. Even single sided paper is getting close to $1.00 now. They have lost their minds, lol. I am not buying it, lol. Especially, since a lot of the collections are digital. I will snag paper when it's on clearance or old collections. I am not trendy. I buy my style. That helps save a lot of money in this crazy expensive hobby. No exciting craft hauls for me thrifting. I used my thrift budget to hit Hobby Lobby last week since DH wanted to get some things. I like going in Hobby Lobby and looking at the clearance sales. They did have a lot of art paper on clearance. DH & I got a ream of marker paper for only $2.50. It was originally $10. It's the kind that is plastic coated on back. So happy with that find. Most of my items were full price but I needed them plus I took Mr. Enabler in that store. Big Mistake, lol. My DH is the worst.

I regretted it. I may have a few games... and consoles. >_> Just a few. To be fair only half of these were new store purchases. The rest were second hand, or a freebie in the case of the silver GB pocket. I have a grey brick Gameboy around somehwhere too but I can't recall where it's packed away (probably with the N64 peripherals, come to think of it) so it missed the photoshoot. Mostly I carry around the black DS Lite or Pikachu SP, but I haven't been taking my SP out since I found out how expensive it'd be to replace. >_o; I got it new from Toys R' Us back in the day and wasn't aware it was that limited a release in North America. Almost all the ones up for sale these days are reshells or (rarely) the Japanese Pokecenter exclusive. So happily it can now retire to at-home use only, and the pearl SP will be travelling with me. It's already pretty well loved so I've no worries. The planner has already been put to good use, as it now holds my Animal Crossing checklists. The surface is quite soft and not robust like the leather planners so it's not going to hold up to die storage and being pulled on/off the shelf constantly, so it's gotten lighter duty. I'm in the same boat as you - I cant' see paying that much for paper on the regular, not when I can get stuff for pennies if I'm patient. I'd have been all over that marker paper; it's darn expensive even if you get it on sale. You can never have too much blank paper.

We have a craft thrift store in town that gets tons of donations. It is called Who Gives a Scrap. I think most of the stuff in there is from 1998-2005. It is a little much. Their organization is mostly plastic bins of overflowing items. It's a little much for this OCD organizer. But you can find great deals if you are looking for older items.

That sounds like an amazing store - not sure there are many scrapbook/craft stores at all around here besides Michael's (boo!), let alone one specialized in second hand. Have you found any amazing treasures or does the mess make it impossible for you? I've heard that complaint levelled at shops like Winners - too disorganized to be able to find what you're looking for. Personally I tend to prefer older stuff. It lets you know if it's held up over time or not. If the adhesive is dried, or the product is yellowing, then you know it's not worth buying!

Embri look at that perfection!!!!! I am salivating, lol. I love it. My eye went straight to the Pikachu. I am like "Girl, that is a lucky find, don't let it go!" That baby is worth a fortune now. I really love your collection. I am a Nintendo girl forever. I love you are using your new MS Planner for Animal Crossing. That is something I would do. GMTA. Animal Crossing Checklists???!!! How did I not know about this. I have to go find those. I would have snagged more reams of that marker paper. They only had two left. I agree you can never have enough blank paper. I have the Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo DS XL (Zelda Rarity) & Playstation Portable 3000. Those are my current handhelds. I wish I didn't trade my others. Young gamers who need new systems got to do what they got to do, lol. Now, that I am older I can hoard. I am getting a Switch Lite. A girl has to play the new Animal Crossing. I am a Yoshi forever fan. I need the new Yoshi game. Plus, Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams added several new levels for the Nintendo version and a new Shantae is coming out. Yes, I do love platformer's. In one of my very small ecelectic shopping centers I noticed they opened a new thrift store. I hope to visit it this weekend. It looks very hole in the wall. I am excited about that. I do have OCD. It really sucks. I love a trashy thrift store. My OCD stops at the door when I find a trashy thrift store. I don't trust a thrift store if it is too neat. I am starting to think it's a boutique with boutique prices. I love my older stuff too. Except the 80's craft phases. No, that is for the 80's fans. I was in Salvation Army one day laughing at all the 80's things. I told my DH that somebody was going to squeal finding that loot of treasures. I was standing there holding a macrame plant holder, 1970's stickers & 1970's label maker. I am one to talk, ROFL.

Gonna stick the game stuff in a spoiler since it's long and off topic for most folks. Only luck involved was being Canadian and a love of Pokémon during the brief period when it was on the retail shelf. n_n But I am happy to have it as I'd never be willing to spend what a Pikachu SP fetches these days, oof. Have all the packaging too, as I do for anything I bought first-hand. I've managed to hold onto all my consoles and games. That Atomic Purple GBC is the first video game anything I ever owned; got it December 1996 with Pokémon Blue and LoZ: A Link to the Past, both of which I played to death. I was somewhat late to the party. *laughs* Made up for it; N64 came along a few years later, then a GameCube, and the DS's. I'd hold off on the Switch Lite until someone does a teardown ands sees if they've fixed the JoyCon drifting issue or not yet. The graphite contacts under the sliders that measure the axis/tilt of the stick seem to be the likely culprit and it's an inherent design flaw, meaning that all the current generation JoyCons are set up to fail at some point, probably sooner rather than later. Pretty disappointing given Nintendo is usually much better at making consoles that stand the test of time. Even the heavily used ones I've gotten like the pearl SP and GBC still worked, despite clearly being owned and played with by very un-careful hands for many a year. At most they needed a deep clean and fresh batteries/charging. Have you played Yoshi's Story? That was one of my absolute favourites on N64. The storybook 2D/3D ascetic is simply charming, I loved how different it was and that it was just Yoshis. It's on the easier side but younger me wasn't good at platformers so I still found it challenging enough, particularly when trying to find every secret. Older me isn't that much better at platformers. More of a strategy and tactics lady myself. If they end up porting Yoshi's Story over to the Switch, I'd give it a look. I'd also not trust the perfectly tidy thrift store. Means not many shoppers, usually because their stuff is overpriced. Sadly a lot of the stuff I like and collect has reached the 'collectible' era at thrift stores and gets priced accordingly, usually stuck behind the counter. Still find some gems here and there but it's not like 20 or even 10 years ago. I thought macrame was ugly in the 80's and I've never changed my mind. Some things are best left in the past!

Especially, since a lot of the collections are digital. I'm curious how much printing you do of digital collections and what type of printer you use? Do you feel like it is cheaper because ink can be so expensive!

Spoiler thing to dyslexic for me but very brilliant. I love it. Girls just skip unless this is so fascinating, lol. I am posting digital tips next no worries refugeepea. I have to hold off on the Switch Lite. Took a financial hit due to the flooding, like so many of us (Hugs to all of us flood girls and other natural disaster girls) It sucks! I do hope to have one by early next year. I never buy retail. So, the new Switch will be $200 but I will have it in my hand for $50. I won't care too much about the axis problem, lol. Plus, Nintendo is fixing it. Yoshi's Story is life.

refugeepea and peas who are interested this is going to be a little long. My printer is fancy. It is really overkill for most. I have the HP8700 line. The 8700 is no longer made but the news one are 8710, 8740 & 8720. It is overkill but it was my luxurious B-day gift from my DH last year. Also as part of my B-day gift I have the HP Instant Ink program. instantink.hpconnected.com/us/en/l/ I For $10 a month I can print 300 pages a month. I get 600 pages roll over. If you go over that then it's 20 pages for $1. They send you all your ink cartridges as part of the subscription. You don't pay extra for ink. I have used this heavily for a year and have not run out of ink. I print on best quality/gloss cardstock a lot. I really love my printer. You don't need a fancy printer to use this program. You can go to WalMart and find a printer for $40 (Back to school special) and use one of the HP Instant Ink packages- They have 4- free, $3, $5 & $10. Make sure your printer is on their list. Yes, I do feel like it's cheaper for me to print out my digitals. I really love digitals over physical. I have so much more freedom working with digital collections. If I buy a collection I can use all the embellishments and pattern paper to make my own journal cards, for example, instead of buying the pre-made ones that might have elements on the card itself that I can't use. I can choose the type of paper I want to use- glossy, vellum, sticker, cardstock, acetate, etc... For example I will peek every Wednesday at $1 deals over at SnapClickSupply, I can buy a collection I like for $1.00. Hobby Lobby has vellum paper packs for $7.00 I will wait for the half off sales that are practically every week and get my vellum for $3.50. Print out my $1.00 ephemera on the vellum. I have a beautiful collection of vellum die cuts that would retail for $8-$9 physical collection. I think it's more frugal, for me, because I have a collection that I can keep using and not run out of. I can combine elements. If I want a balloon surrounded by flowers I can do that in my graphic programs, I can change colors, etc... I don't want my things to look like it came out of the package. That is important to me as an artist. Yes, it saves me money. I know this just might sound so expensive to some Pea's. I do understand that. I do understand buying physical over digital. I do still buy physical but I can be choosy and look for good deals. I also do not print out a lot of paper. I don't really use it in my journaling. I like having the paper as my base to make embellishments or journal cards. I use a lot of the collections to add patterns to my svg files. I added a cute background pattern to a llama svg file recently. He's so adorable. I like to buy digital backgrounds instead of pattern paper because I can print what I need and not have to store the physical paper. If I want to use green gingham I just need to find a gingham paper in my digital files. Gingham paper is free, so don't go buy that, lol. I know this is not acid free. I don't trust acid free in our industry. I can tell you I have some high end papers that are yellowing. This industry has lost a lot of my trust when it comes to archival. I will buy a spray and make it archival if I need too. I don't really worry about the archival since I am mainly journaling and making cards. I know that is very important on a scrapbooking forum I wanted to bring that up. CraftingWithLiller- www.youtube.com/channel/UCBGx1ePZj-rR1UBoILhCKqw She does a lot of digital collections. She has videos on how to do it that are really good. Rachel Tomlinson has a lot of good tips- She is mainly a junk journaler. www.youtube.com/channel/UCvHz1ZZtBx_3IroOD4j6hQwI do have a laser printer. I have a Samsung M2070. No longer made in that series. It is only black and white. I use that for my gold foiling, transfers, coloring pages, etc... It is not part of an ink program. It's a black and white laser printer so it is really cost effective. Your library will let you print out your own images. You can even send it from your home to the library printer. When you go in it is ready for you to print. Most libraries have color laser printers. Some libraries will let you bring in your own paper. This option is a little bit more expensive but still cheaper than buying ink cartridges. I did this for a long time before I got my printers. Epson also has EcoTank that I heard amazing things about. You can also buy older printers and do a Continuous Ink System (CIS). I know it's so long. I hope that helps. Back to thrifting.

I will look into it, but the local one is on the small side. With my library card, it gives me access to two and one of them is a Carnegie Library. The ones built in the 1930's. The other one was built in the 1920's.

Was just at my local library’s annual book sale and I felt like I was in an episode of Wide World of Sports instead. I got there early, headed right to the antique book table. Just as I reached out for a huge book about victorian past times didn’t the lady next to me grab it! I almost had my hand on it and said that was the book I wanted. She flipped through it and then stuffed it in her bag. Ugh the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. I saw what type of books she was scooping up, so I snagged them and put them in my bAg before she reached them then put them back after she walked away. I know it was petty but she had a huge bagful already. I did walk away with a bag of my own but she got the best. Next year I’ll pay to attend the preview night instead.

Ah, that's too bad about the book. pas2. I've learned never to announce my intentions at sales, because there are always vultures who'll scoop up things you're interested in just because someone else wants it, alas. If you remember the title there's a decent chance you'll be able to secure a copy online? Not nearly as much fun as library sale shopping of course.

I use PaintShop Pro, Serif Craft Artist Pro, Printmaster, PhotoFiltre & Inkscape for all my graphic programs. I design mainly in PaintShop Pro & Serif Craft Artist Pro. I like to do some layouts in Printmaster. I do a lot of basic editing for printing in PhotoFiltre. Inkscape is for my SVG's. I know that is a lot of programs. I have a lot more, lol. Those are the programs I do most of my work in for digitals.
We have a Carnegie library in my town too. Aren't they the most beautiful libraries? Our branch opened in 1905. I love going to it. Our branch just got a 3D Printer. I love libraries. They are my second home.

pas2 I am sorry that happened to you. I bet you just found a flipper. They are the worst. Good for you stuffing books in your bag, lol. I am sure the books you put back were really appreciated by somebody who has better manners. I admit I did the grabby thing too one time. There was a set of Anais Nin books at my library and I checked them out so often the librarians teased me that those books were mine. I know I should have bought my own copies. Those books were special to me. Library book sale what do I see my copies of my books. I see this lady eyeing them and I just scooped them up and held them to my heart like "DON'T YOU DARE!" Those were my books. Mine, Mine, Mine! I still have them and they are my precious. The best part they are first editions. Then I was gifted another first edition from a library book sale a loved one attended. So I have the whole collection of Anais Nin first editions from library book sales. What was your best treasure from this sale? Thrifting adventures today- Witnessed a fight at Christian thrift store of all things. A mentally handicap lady lost her phone in the store. She kept going up to the customers saying she lost her phone or we stole it. Now this is a small store with a lot of regulars. We were patient and kind to her. This one woman, not a regular, just starts a fight with a mentally handicap woman. It was horrible. We were all pretty shaken up about it. We got it to stop before it escalated. I have to say that was a first. No pictures, it was a big book haul. Nothing exciting crafting. I did get a Hamtoro book. I am so excited.

Ah, that's too bad about the book. pas2 . I've learned never to announce my intentions at sales, because there are always vultures who'll scoop up things you're interested in just because someone else wants it, alas. If you remember the title there's a decent chance you'll be able to secure a copy online? Not nearly as much fun as library sale shopping of course. Doubt it, that book dated from the mid 1800’s and would cost a small fortune online instead of the $2 the library wanted for it. It’s ok, i went to a flea market and picked a bunch of cool stuff for $1 ea.

I always get upset when people start picking fights in public, even parents yelling at their kids. I quickly move as far away as possible. I did find an an antique autograph album filled with lovely handwriting, a book of old airplane history and advertisements, several old primary school math books and a book on botany. I love antique books. I do plan to scan them to use in journals too. I just really wanted to read that one that got away. i later found out that grabby lady was a historian doing research of the 19th century daily life. She said she keeps all her books. I’m not sure I buy her story, but I hope that book ended up in a home that appreciated it.

I have found some punches I wanted and they often have a lot of CM stuff. I like their tools. I have found some old paper that I have part of the collection already. Last time I was there I found a few brand new in package dies. They also have had some great album kits. I have recently started visiting my local Goodwill Outlet and it is giant bin after giant bin of crap with about 2% awesome stuff, so I am slowly learning that having the patience to plod through things does pay off. I just pretend the place doesn't smell.

I just pretend the place doesn't smell. How did you manage to find anything good when you were there?!? I just went to the Phx Goodwill Clearance center on Saturday-- and I never will again. It was hot and airless and there were ZERO craft supplies or anything like that, that I could see, anyway. The big blue bins were mostly clothes, and I swear, when they put out new bins, people descended on those bins like flies onto a piece of rotting meat-- it was crazy! There were only two blue bins of books, but nothing good in them at all. The housewares section was only open for part of the time I was there, and the stuff was all in pallet-shaped bins that were, like, 3 feet deep: you had to dig thru piles of stuffed animals, baskets, broken vacuum cleaners and other random crap to get down to the bottom of the bins to see the smaller items. I never saw any bona-fide *crafting* supplies at all. I don't mind digging thru shelves of items in a regular thrift store to maybe find one or two good things during a trip, but that clearance center was too much, even for my patience. I didn't see any dishes, shoes, glassware, or plastic kitchen storage at all... maybe the Phx outlet center is just crappier than others for certain items.

That's a Goodwill Outlet, and they're a different beast. Definitely more competition, and not every depot has the same assortment of stuff. You're probably better off hitting up another location, especially some non-outlets, for smaller things like craft supplies. The outlets tend to work better for people who are looking for a lot of different things, rather than one specific category.

oh, I do go to 'regular' Goodwill stores every once in a while, but 950nancy said she went to a Goodwill Outlet and found some good stuff. I was just wondering what her secret was, lol. I've also watched some youtube videos done by people who said they found lots of crafting type items at their local Goodwill Clearance Outlet locations.

I've also watched some youtube videos done by people who said they found lots of crafting type items at their local Goodwill Clearance Outlet locations. I am guessing it was just pure being at the right place at the right times. My outlet has several dozen people there that really pick quickly and they have large trucks pulling trailers. They are there all of the time. One of the clerks said that people drive up from Mexico to our outlet and Denver's (they have 5). So if you aren't there when the giant bins are pulled out, you probably won't find anything of value. If you want shoes or books, it is the place to be. I am also wiling to stay at a bind and dig through it. Most people there surface shop and go to the next bin. The train set I found was about 50% in a white trash bag and the 50% at the bottom of the bin. Right now there has to be about 10% Christmas stuff... trees, ornaments, wreaths, etc in the bins.

Mixed bags of goodies today. On the scrappy side, some nice paper, brazzil cardstock, a bit of vellum and a box of 'gel-a-tins', Build a Set Numbers. This is actually the third set of 'gel-a-tins' I've seen at thrift recently (probably photopolymers, as they're quite sticky?) but the other two didn't appeal as they were mostly individual letters and lining those up is a royal pain. Numbers though I can see using 1-2 at a time for birthday cards. Decent size, about 2.5cm (1") tall. Other random goodies include a lanyard, bag o' Lego, and some polyhedral dice. Also picked up a card game but not sure if it's a keeper yet. Dice got their own photo since they were already soaking in the sink when I got the rest lined up, and plum forgot they should have been included! The weirdest item award goes to the Lego/Nintendo DS game cartridge holders. Officially licensed by both companies, they're not practical but too cool to pass up on. Paper was 3$, Stamps were 1.50$, 3$ for the dice and lanyard together. Lego/DS holders were 3$ too.
