We stopped at a Goodwill on Saturday and found a Quickutz tote overflowing with binders and product in the showcase. It was $39.99 which is WAY more than I usually spend on craft supplies at goodwill, but we were in a hurry and there were so many zip binders full of alphabets that we took a chance. I haven't gone through it all yet because I find the codes on those alphabet plates confusing, but it looks like each of the 5 binders has 2-3 alphabets, there are little silver cases with special sets like Holiday/Valentines Day, 14 unopened packages of DoubleCutz, small cardboard packaging with number sets, 10 sets of Quikutz rub-ons which I didn't even know they made (and they actually still work - I tried some), and a whole bunch of dies/embossing folders that seem to coordinate. There's also a blue hand tool. As long as there are a few alphabets I don't already have, I think I got my money's worth, but I'm definitely experiencing some buyer's remorse thinking about the price. Even if you get one new alpha, you scored! You can always list some for sale here on the FSOT board. I would have snatched that up in a hurry.

You got a great deal. Hopefully you find you can use or sell all of it.

Frazzled Mom that is such a great deal. No buyer's remorse. I have bought things at thrift stores and thought "What was I thinking?" It turned out to be some of my best purchases that I treasure. I have plenty of buyer's remorse over new things I bought, lol. I hope your QK find will be a treasure. Embri- I love that Fiskars punch. Lucky find. I love corner punches. No exciting craft items for me. I got a cup to store my "Clarity" brushes in. That's it! I guess that is exciting, lol.

Not too much in my neck of the woods either, but I'm not complaining. I got a new computer and task chair, those were plenty enough! The one thing I did grab were these: All new in package (though I'd unwrapped one set to try it out by the point this picture was taken) - four rolls of no-shed glitter tape. I should be good for years of die cutting now. This is my favourite kind of tape to hold down dies and paper. ~1.50$ Can for lot.

Embri I am going to assume you didn't get a new computer at the thrift store. If you did now that's a score, lol. Congrat's on your new computer. I just got a really nice computer chair at the thrift store for $9. Has a nice back rest & everything. I couldn't believe I lucked out so well. I was so grateful. I really needed a new ergonomic chair. Saved me $200. I need those kind of chairs.

Hahah, no. Sadly, they don't have new iMacs in stock. For that matter I don't think I've seen any iMac there at all, just a few peripherals and an AirPortExpress station. I can't really complain given the old iMac served me well for 11 years before the GPU finally gave up the ghost. Chair's government surplus though, so yes second hand! Humanscale Freedom, similar to this one but a slightly older model. It's a bit of an adjustment given it's far less flexy than the chair it replaced, but so far, I think it'll work out. I need to get a permanent plinth or something to put my feet on though to make the heights work. Right now I'm using two of my paper albums! XD Never scrimp on anything that separates you from the ground - shoes, tires, beds or chairs.

A small outlet store opened in my area and I found this 1 canoe two planner for three dollars. The color IRL is a beautiful navy blue. It appears to be a brighter blue on the website to me. www.francescas.com/product/one-canoe-two-raleigh-floral-planner.do?sortby=ourPicks&refType=&from=Search&ecList=6&ecCategory=Yes, it ends in December, but I thought it might be fun to do some journaling. I've thought about trying art journaling, but simple art journaling. Is there such a thing? I don't have the space or budget for messy things. Maybe make it a menu planner, scrapbook planner... I don't know. I won't use it for every day planning. The quality of the cover is amazing! The papers you write on is like your typical notebooks.

If you don't get around to using it, can always put new date stickers over the numbers and use your planner for next year. An art journal sounds like a great idea. You could even make the number replacement part of your art. Maybe find creative ways to add those numbers in? "It's not a bug, it's a feature!"

Super pleased to have found these My Neighbour Totoro stamps for 3$ yesterday. Previously used but they cleaned up to nearly new condition. Tagging along are some nice Schleich animals for the niblings and a couple of horses for myself. Also grabbed another 7-ring planner to add to my growing die/stamp storage system for 3$.

OMG that is an amazing find. My DD collects Studio G stuff, esp Totoro. I'll have to poke around for these. ETA for her 18th birthday we got her the unopened DVD of the first Totoro release, not the Disney one. She literally cried! Big bucks but worth every cent.

First Studio Ghibli item I've found; seems they're rare as hen's teeth second hand. Don't really blame people given most of it has to be imported over here and it's usually really good quality. I found comparable sets on eBay that were between 30-40 USD. Not sure if that's a fair price (seems rather high to me) but they are out there.

It’s rare to find anything scrap related at my thrift stores other than really, really old paper and cutesy rubber stamps. Yesterday I found 2 Paper Studios large paper holders NIB for $3.99 each.

I have a photo journal planner I’ve been doing since January. It’s on those disks. I put pictures & maybe stickers in mine just flat stuff & it gets thick, I had to divide the year into Jan - June & July - December You could easily do July - Dec & tear out the other pages if need be.

I don’t really shop at thrift stores much just because they’re not located where I usually am. I had to pop in here to say, Embri I love learning new words from your posts! I read here on my iPad and just looked up two words from this page alone! Thank you! I like to learn new words then teach them to dh who, in turn, tests his coffee buddies on the weekend!

Embri, it's the one that makes award ribbons. I went back this morning to see if they put any more out. In the furniture section I found one that makes the small banners. I bought it for $1.99.

refugeepea, I pass by the furniture on the way to the toy section. I'm always on the lookout for vintage Fisher Price and Legos. I don't usually go too deep into the furniture section unless something catches my eye.

Other customers hide stuff in sections that hat they don't belong, hoping to prevent others from buying them until they go 50% off.

That's so strange it was in furniture - agree it could be from someone who picked it up but then decided to not buy after all. Sounds like a nice set; award ribbons make great additions to birthday cards. I bet one of those was 'niblings', wasn't it? Truly a great word. Collective term for nieces and nephews for anyone who's curious. Some of my other favourites are 'hirsute', 'loquacious' and the most recent addition is 'torrid' (as in an environmental descriptor, as opposed to the more commonly known synonym for passion, i.e. 'torrid affair'.) refugeepea, I pass by the furniture on the way to the toy section. I'm always on the lookout for vintage Fisher Price and Legos. I don't usually go too deep into the furniture section unless something catches my eye. I love Legos! Sadly our stores know they're in demand and usually price them ridiculously high, like 10$ for a small bag. I could get them more inexpensively from BrickLink at that price, and I'd get to pick the pieces too. :\

Yes, Embri , niblings was one of them! I’ve since taught it to a few people! Not really a thrift store but dh and I passed a big discount store on our way to our hotel this morning. I thought I saw a sign that said “discount scrapbooking” so dh turned the car around. It did say discount scrapbooking and they had a ton of stuff. Old stuff. Like really old! I bought alphabet sticker sheets (8 1/2 by 11, most marked Current) for 10/ $1.00. All paper was also 10/$1.00. I spent a total of $3.20 on that stuff and then picked up a roll of farm animal stickers for 88 cents and a package of tile alphabet stickers for $1.88. They had so much...epoxy stickers galore, tile letters, Karen Foster metal stuff and something with Rebecca Sower’s name on it. There were some great deals but so much of it was just ancient. They had one style of Journaling Genie and there had to be 50 of them. The papers I bought are by Murdock Country Creations in Turner Maine. This store was in Maine. These papers are really pretty and I’ll probably use them as story based pages for our vacation album and only add a small picture.

They were such a huge deal in my house in the 80’s, my grandma and I loved them! They actually opened an outlet near my house and my Grandma and I were so excited!!!

Skellinton I do remember Current catalogs! I loved them. I loved all of their stuff and vaguely remember them selling scrapbooking stuff but I never bought any of it from them. I was happy to pay 10 cents a sheet for alphabet stickers today!

For a yard sale hauls, I once found a big ziplock bag full of punches and a 1 inch 12x12 paper pocket stuffed with 12x12s and stickers. I think it was $6 and $3 for the punches and paper/embellies respectively. That's awesome! It's been a few years but at one yard sale I was able to get punches for 0.50- to around $2.00 at the most. I might go check out a reuse store in August if it works out. It's over 2 hours away.

TOTORO!!!!!!!! I am dying you found that. I would have squealed. Yes, I do squeal when I find great things at the thrift store, lol. I love you bought horses for yourself. I do those things too. You spoil your niblings. I bet you are their favorite.
I love the idea of your planners for die/stamp storage. That is an amazing idea. I know my stamps I would need 50 planners, lol. I love the idea for my die collection.
Nothing really exciting thrifting craft wise. Found a lot of things I needed for my home. I am always grateful.
On the topic of finding things in different areas. I watch the flippers hide things. I go over and peek at what they hid and if I like it I will snag it. It is my "I have no shame" thing. I know the flippers in my area. A lot of them are very rude, competitive and just downright mean. I was shopping one time and I watched this flipper hide baby clothes all around the store. This young Mother was so upset trying to find baby clothes. I walked around the store and got all the baby clothes and gave them to her. She was so excited. Take that you flipper who was bragging the week before just how much money you make off stupid Mother's and their baby clothes! No, I don't take hidden things from people in my neighborhood who I know they need it to fall at the 50% level so they can afford it. I have my thrifting values.
I hope you all never get the flippers who take things out of your own cart, including your purse. That was my rage moment.
