This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Happy April to all you Pokey Peas. The sun is shining here, but the wind is very cold. It's trying to be Spring, but it's a slow process, I guess. We had snow again last Thursday.
Have a great April Fool's Day, and come scrap and chat with us.

Thanks for setting this up, nylene. April will be a pokey scrapping month for me. Just heard from our accountant, and I have an appointment to "bring in our stuff" for Thursday, April 11th. While Dh has been working on his general ledger and getting everything in order for a month, I have a pile of documents in a corner of my office. So I will be definitely working on that over the next few days. Good thing I cleared off my scrap counter the other day. Today I need to go into town, pick up my month's meds, and pay some bills. So more left brain than right brain activities for awhile. Spring is definitely on its way. The snow is receding around here, but definitely still a lot of it still here, especially in the shadow of the trees around the yard. LOTS of standing and running water and mud in the fields and ditches. I wasn't outside yesterday, but Saturday the thermometer said it should be quite warm, but the breeze was quite chilly. Dh says that is b/c the snow was evaporating directly into the atmosphere, stealing the heat. How is everyone doing this brand new month?

Happy April everyone! We had a busy end to March - Girl Scout lock-in on Friday night helping DD12 and others earn their Woodworking Badge. Then Saturday we went to an airshow and DD12 got to go up in a Cessna - her first flight ever! She loved it! Sunday was a bit quieter - just Mass and lunch out and then I went to presentation at the library about Florida Pioneer Women - really interesting. Today I'm cleaning house, cleaning up my scrap area, and getting some scrapbooking done, nylene - I miss snow but not in April (or even March), mostly around Christmas. I hope Spring heads your way soon. grammadee - good luck with the accountant - taxes are done here already thank goodness, I dread doing them every year.

grammadee , maybe you should add a Team Challenge for the hours spent getting ready for the accountant! LOL. Thanks for setting up the challenges again for this month. I plan to do some tackling of drawers and closets this month, so it may not be a productive scrappy month for me. I did finish 2 layouts late last night. I'll scan and post later. joyfulnana , I'm sorry you had to go through the emotion of the funeral but it sounds like it was also a good feeling getting together again. It seems that the only time I see my cousins are at funerals and occasionally weddings. I hope you can keep in touch with your X's family. Hugs to you. Linda , your activities with the GS always sound so fun. I wish you lived close to DD. I know she'd enjoy working with you. I envy you the warm weather right now. We live at the mouth of a canyon and get lots of early morning and late evening winds coming through. Even when it's warm the wind seems cold. patin, I'm wondering how things are going with you and DH. Hope you are both doing well.

nylene, thanks for the thread. joyfulnana, too bad you don’t live in South Bend now, it would be good to have a close scrap buddy. I’m glad your sons are doing okay. I’m sure it helped having you there. grammadee, dh said today that he will have to buckle down and work on taxes on Sunday. He’s started but it’s always slow. I’m just thankful I don’t have to do it. Linda, oh, how fun for dd! I love the small planes so much more than the large. I dated a pilot so I got to go up a lot. He taught me to take off (although he always had his hands on the other yoke to correct me) and fly but i was always too afraid to land. You don’t want to mess that up. My April has started off really lazy. I did my meal plan but only half way. With that I do my comparative grocery shopping online so I can make my list by store of what I need. So it takes time but feels like I’ve done nothing because I now have to go do the shopping. Luckily Sam’s club had the order and just pick up feature. So that will be my day tomorrow. Starting with my farm egg pick up which I am excited about. Wednesday and Thursday I hope to do some work on the house. Friday I’ll be in clean up mode getting ready for date day on Saturday. You know those big anniversary plans of furniture shopping. Contain yourself ladies, I know you’re all jealous of my anniversary plans. 🤣🤣🤣 seriously, we frequently shop together as part of our dates. Then a nice dinner. Oh, and I hope to get him into a paint store to look at swatches (insert evil laugh). It’ll be nice to spend some quality time together. Sunday, we’ll pick up the kids from mil’s. Of course i have to make time each day for my 100 days too, she said crossing her fingers. Wish me luck.

Happy April! Thanks for getting us started nylene! grammadee I do not envy you having to get things ready for the accountant. I hope it goes better than you are expecting! LisaDV - I love what you have planned for your date day! It sounds like a good time just spending the day browsing and shopping together. And who doesn't love getting new furniture! I do grocery pickup at Walmart and I love it! It's life changing lol. I don't love the meal planning and 'shopping' but it's lovely to just pull up and let them load the car. linda as I said in the other thread I really admire all you get done crafting with such a busy family schedule! Time management is not my forte - for sure lol. nylene I would love to live near the canyons again. It sounds like everyone with the exception of linda had snow this weekend. We had a couple flurries that were quickly gone but man it was windy and the wind was COLD! I spent the weekend "cropping" with my mom and visiting with my son. I say "cropping" because it took us two hours to stop chatting and get to work, and then within an hour we had decided to go to HL. Mom lives next door to it practically and we ended up making two trips. So there was really very little scrapping happening LOL! I'm going to be knitting the Christmas stocking for the 100 days project. I'm hoping I will get it started and finished in that amount of time and have been thinking ahead to what I might do with the rest of the 100 days. Then I remember who I am, so I'm better off to keep focused on that and see how long it takes lol. I'm hoping to still squeeze in some scrapping too. woodysbetty how is the house coming? I can't wait to hear how you like it once you get settled. I hope everyone is having a happy April Fools day!

Happy April everyone!! March was a crazy whirl of activity, still learning the area and meeting new people. They do something here that I thought was awesome...most folk carry what they call friendship cards. It has their name, address, which village they live in, cell #'s and email. Genius!! Of course, I had to get some for us. I think I am going to put all the ones we collect in a pocket page protector and scrap about them. Certainly helps with the remembering name stuff!! LOL! joyfulnana the house is coming along beautifully...the only glitch so far is the microwave we selected the company can't provide in time for closing so the Villages is giving us the upgraded version that includes all kinds of voice control and wi/fi options, a convection oven, steaming capabilities which we didn't think justified the higher price tag at design stage as we don't use our microwave that much. But heck for free - we'll learn!! LOL! But May 8th can't come soon enough for me!! Hugs to all!!

Light snow falling here. Dh has appointments in town this morning or he would not have left home, but he went in for coffee before the appointments start so I have the house to myself. I COULD be doing tax stuff. Or finishing up with my die sorting. Or cleaning in prep for family at Easter. I am procrastinating. Having a second cup of coffee in the quiet house before I start my day. I am so excited for your new home being almost ready to move into, woodysbetty ! One more month! I will be going to Florida for a week in June. Ds has a conference in Orlando, so his family is going down the week before the conference. They asked me to book the time share for them and since the booking company gave me a free week on top of the one I used, I am going to go down with them. Dh does not want to go, so it will be just me, ds and ddil, and the two little guys. Last time we did Disney all the time. I think the plan is to do other stuff this time, and plan to spend time hanging out around the pool. In other words, a real vacation. I do not envy all the work you are doing on your new home, LisaDV , but I am sure you will truly enjoy it more when you are done. Like joyfulnana, I am amazed by all you do, yet are able to keep creating. And Linda is another one. Somehow a "lazy" month for you two is nowhere what it would be for me. When my kids were in school I definitely had no time to scrap. In fact, I did not even take that many photos. As I said, I am amazed... nylene , I hope you get some uninterrupted time to scrap this month. Did you say you have something started already. I would love to see it. I have one more canvas to complete before Easter, so that will be my focus before I fit in any sb pages. Okay. Must. Get. Up. And. DO. Something...

Happy Tuesday and Happy April! It's been very warm out here but today has been cooler. Spring is near! Wishing you all a warm Spring soon. We had a nice weekend relaxing, shopping and watching sports. Hey, do you all shop for clothes at Walmart? I have been watching videos on You Tube showing some of the new clothes there. So I went on Saturday and oh boy! I got a cute, casual stripped orange dress for $9 ish dollars. Then I got some sleepwear and some cute jeans on for $2.00!!! I saw the price was $17 ish dollars and thought that was good. But when my dh came back with the receipt they were $2.00! So I went back on Sunday and got another dress in olive, another sleepwear set and another pair of those jeans in a coral color. Those jeans were on sale but not $2.00. LOL! So I will be checking in on them from time to time.
I got new art up on my blog. I finished that painting I started last month. It was fun doing a big painting again and will start another one this week. Not sure what I will paint but I know something will hit me soon. Here is the finished picture but go to my blog to see all the pictures.

nylene - Thanks for the new thread. What a fantastic time you had with maribeth ! So glad you were able to see each other in spite of the weather and traffic. So great!
woodysbetty - Friendship cards!!!! Love that idea. I am so happy your new community is embracing you. It must be hard to move to a new town and trying to making friends. They really had it easy for you and that is beautiful!!!
LisaDV - I think your anniversary plans are terrific! LOL! Really! Just spending time with your honey is so fun and I know he will be happy to go look at paint with you. He knows "happy wife, happy life." LOL!
Waving hello to you all and have a great evening!

kellyr21 - beautiful painting! I love the colours! And great Walmart bargains - I find that their clothes don't always last well but at those prices, who cares if they only last a season, right? grammadee - more snow? when does Spring usually arrive in your area? woodysbetty - love the friendship card idea - what a great way to keep in touch with new friends! That's great about the microwave - so fancy! joyfulnana - you'll have to post photos of your christmas stocking in progress Lazy day today - spent the morning reading and then started off the afternoon at my scrapping table. Did manage to pull together some housework in late afternoon and then when DH came home, we went to the library and then took DD12 to Lowes to pick out a tree - she read all the tags on the different trees before picking one out. Home again for her to plant it - all by herself - that finished off a Girl Scout trees badge for her. I think because I don't drive and I don't watch TV, I end up with more free time than many. Our evenings and weekends are busy but weekdays are mostly mine to play (and do housework but I'm a fairly indifferent housekeeper - the place is clean but hardly spotless)

Good morning Pokeys! I hope that you all have a happy humpday! I have a few meetings and need to get my board agenda put together for next week's board meeting. I'm also going to the gym tonight. I do Orange Theory, it's a high intensity interval training program. I've been going since August and I actually like it. I had gotten to be in such terrible shape over the past 10 years, so I decided to torture myself and deal with it. I actually like going to Orange Theory, although I always say they are trying to kill me. It's a really challenging workout, but I keep going back. I've dropped 15 pound or so and have learned to row, run a couple of miles an do some weight lifting. I still need to get my sweet tooth under control (my favorite food is sugar), but otherwise, I'm trying to deal with the extra pudge. Kelly - that painting is beautiful! I love it! Lisa - I don't envy you with the home improvement projects. We just moved to a newly renovated house last May, so we don't have too much of that to do yet. I am looking forward to planting some flowers this spring. It looks like the April showers are about to hit Indy for the next week and a half. Do you have that going on up north also? I'm hoping that it's reasonable. I love rain, but live near a waterway, so I'm hoping we don't have flooding, the water levels are already really high. Well, I guess I should get moving. I've been up since 5:15 and have pretty much spent my time buying scrappy supplies online and chatting. Guess I should get ready for work. Have a great day ladies! Tina

. Okay just a quick one to show the beautiful spaces here... flic.kr/p/2fkiwydgrammadee we are not far from Orlando and there is so much to do here that isn't Disney...Mannatees, Gaters, and lots of really pretty beaches...Scrapbook Expo is here in May in Orlando too.. kellyr21 Yes, I loved the friendship card funniest part about being here is it is somewhat like living on a cruise ship...everyone is from somewhere else and really friendly! That painting is just amazing, the colors and feel are breathtaking... Linda between that pretty cards and cool microwave I smile a lot. But the interesting part will be if I can truly use all the option!! LOL! shinyhappytina Wow your workouts sound intense!1 Good for you...mind adding a mile or 2 for me? Happy Wednesday all...off to play a round of golf...or in my case duff a round!! LOL

I'm hoping I will get it started and finished in that amount of time and have been thinking ahead to what I might do with the rest of the 100 days. Then I remember who I am, so I'm better off to keep focused on that and see how long it takes lol. This made me laugh!! I often have bigger expectations than what I can really do. DH has gotten me better after years and years of reining me in. It is awesome! Both my plans and order/pick up service. woodysbetty , I can't believe how fast they can make a house. Just over one month left!! That's wonderful on the upgraded microwave. I would be just like you. I don't need a fancy one, but I'd definitely take the upgrade and learn. I think the friendship cards are a wonderful idea.** ACK! I just saw your page! No, just no to the alligator/crocodile, which is it in Florida, I forget? But just NO regardless. The page is beautiful though. grammadee , when did you get into scrapbooking? Because the way you go, go, go, I cannot imagine if you had wanted to scrapbook when your kids were at home, that you wouldn't have. You wear me out with all you do. As to me, I barely did any pages for years. When my kids were young, it was a good year to get 25-50 pages done. Then I took digital classes, I got 136 in one year, mainly due to the classes. But it gave me another avenue to create, not that I ever want to give up paper, but it is easier to incorporate into life and "catch up" on stories. 2017 was my most productive year with the year leading up to it and then last year following, unfortunately, it was my way of dealing with anxiety and depression, which took me until mid-2017 to realize and start dealing with. Although me kids are in their teens now, so I still hope to have higher numbers than before. (2016-2018 were also Calvinball years, so that probably helped a great deal too. ) I can't wait to see your canvases. kellyr21 , what a beautiful way to start April, with that gorgeous painting. I left you love in the gallery, but plan to go see the in progress shots on your blog after this. You are very talented, my friend! My dh is too stubborn to really get "happy wife, happy life", but according to him (as I questioned something he did that he would have never done in the past that made me happy the other day), he's mellowing in his old age. I like Linda have found that Walmart clothes don't always hold up well. Of course, when the $ is that low, it's worth it. I've definitely bought the kids some clothes for a season when they were growing like weeds. I've also bought T-shirts for myself there and anywhere I can get them cheap, as I have a bad habit of bleaching things without changing into work clothes. If I don't change, you can bet I'm going to splash. I don't feel as guilty in a cheap t-shirt. and do housework but I'm a fairly indifferent housekeeper - the place is clean but hardly spotless heehee. I think we are soul sisters. My sister gets out toothpicks to clean. I'd much rather organize a space than clean it. Also if it's organized, and you can teach your family (my downfall) to keep it up, then it's easier to keep clean, but I'm still not getting out the toothpicks. shinyhappytina , I have an old college roommate that did the Orange Theory. Wow! They are intense but get great results. We're suppose to have rain tomorrow and by next Friday a frozen mix, although that's so far out it may not happen. My dd, the pluviophile, is really hoping for that rain. We live near the St. Joseph River which last year broke it's flood plane. I don't think they've had they same snow this winter though. And we are far enough that even if it does, we shouldn't be affected. Did I tell you we ordered more things from DH's Whirlpool package? His toaster, the mega-mondo pro, toaster came yesterday. DH loves toast. So we've all been singing, youtu.be/SHptn_3RyYE this song, which was a favorite when the kids were younger. It automatically senses the item, and lowers. Then it pops up at the right level you set it at, but if you don't get back to it within 45 seconds, it automatically lowers and just keeps the toast warm. I got the pro Kitchen aid mixer. I was going to go with the artisan, which I've had and broke when I was grinding my own wheat and making bread. But DH talked me into the larger unit. It just came today 2 seconds ago, so maybe I need to make cookies today. OK, off to get something done today, before cookie making.

shinyhappytina - I've heard about Orange Theory -it sounds tough but good. There isn't one local to me though so I've never tried it. (and who am I kidding? I probably wouldn't have tried it even if it were next door). woodysbetty -beautiful layout! I love all the wildlife we get here in Florida. I'm about 3 hrs north of Orlando (DD is at UCF in Orlando) LisaDV - yes, soul sisters. I love to organise but cleaning? eh, I do enough but no toothpicks here. And yes, bleach spots on my shirt are inevitable, sigh. That's a right fancy toaster you have! My appliances are all pretty basic except my new washer which plays a tune when it's done - I do like that - it sounds so happy Cookie making sounds fun - I am missing having a working oven/stove...I like to bake and haven't been able to since Christmas (unless you count the bread I made in the crockpot last month with DD18)

Good Wednesday morning, Pokeys. Love your page, woodysbetty : it really gives the feel of early morning walks. shinyhappytina , you could not PAY me to take a class like that. I moan and complain when I have to do my Physio excercises, and they are very slow and methodical. I guess in Florida not having an oven would not be a crisis, Linda , but I definitely use mine a lot and if I didn't have a working one I would need to pick up a new stove STAT! Have to admit I use it much more in the fall/winter/spring than in the summer. We have no AC so I try to cook outside or if indoors, then really quick meals. LisaDV , Before scrapbooking, I did a few small crafts, but not a lot. I tended to throw myself into being a mom and into my job. There were times I thought I was throwing 100% at each and might need to just split in half LOL. I started scrapbooking the year that my youngest went away to university. About that time, justjac came to work with me, and she introduced me to Creative Memories and a whole new hobby. I hit it hard, creating an album for each of my 4 kids during the first year. Then I didn't really think I would do much more (had been thinking that scrapbooking was about the past rather than the present). But I had those supplies... And grandbabies started arriving... And the amount of photos exploded... And I retired from my full time job... When I retired, I was asked by my employer to choose a retirement gift. It could be anything I wanted for up to $500. I didn't know what I might want until one of the retirees ordered golf clubs. Then I GOT it: ooooh… something to PLAY with. I ordered a Wishblade (the grand daddy of the Silhouette). Met some scrappy friends IRL and on line. Attended a couple of crops. And then I just fell into it. When I am scrapbooking I feel good. It provides an outlet for creative energy and gives me a feeling of accomplishment when I see the completed pages and albums. I scrap the happy stuff because it lets me relive the good times over and over. When did the rest of you start scrapping?

grammadee - my stove/oven are fine (only about 14m old) but the circuit breaker for them needs replacing and has since the New Year - it doesn't seem to be as high on DH's priority list as on mine. We don't cook outside so I've been getting more acquainted with my slow cookers and electric roaster (it's great for turkey or ham - I'm not as keen on it for everyday cooking) and DH recently bought me an electric griddle so we can have pancakes and eggs again. I don't especially care for slow-cooked food - the texture is off - so we've been eating a lot more casual meals of late....last night I just put bakery bread, a variety of cheeses, grapes, blueberries and cucumbers on the table and called it dinner. I started scrapbooking in April 2002 - my best friend had gotten hooked and made me up an Easter basket of basics (a cutter, some cardstock, adhesive, pens). My kids were 10 and almost 2 (the little one didn't come along for another 4 years). I was homeschooling the older one and I set up shop at a desk in our kitchen (he did schoolwork at the kitchen table). I didn't work (still don't) so I wasn't trying to split time between work and a job and my scrapbooking area has always been in the midst of family life - when we moved 10 years ago, I set up shop in the family room (our main area is pretty open so I can see all the common areas of the house from my desk). I often scrap while everyone else is watching TV.

Hi, Pokeys! Linda and LisaDV , your house cleaning gene must be related to mine! LOL I love it. But I did just spend two hours cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. I feel better now. Linda , you are really churning out the pages. What a blessing for your family to have a mum who documents all their important events. LisaDV , it sounds like you are getting the Jetsons' kitchen equipment. Now if their little robot maid would scurry around and do everything else. kellyr21 , I am in love with your painting. I can't believe the process. I am not artistic so my mind can't even figure out the process or sequence without help. Thanks for posting your steps on your blog. Congrats on your good clothing buys. DH gave me money before Christmas to go get new clothes. Then I fell and sprained my knees and that was out. I still haven't gone. I HATE clothes shopping. I hate getting undressed to try it on, get dressed to pick something else, undress, etc. etc. etc. I hate it especially in the winter when it's cold in the stores. One of these days I must do it. grammadee , I started with a Wishblade too. Just 3 months after I got it, Windows changed to a new OS which was required on my new computer and it wouldn't work with the Wishblade. It sat as an expensive door stop for years, until I heard that it can be used with the Silhouette program. I sent it home with Angie and she and Sam have happily added it to their crafty fun. How are the knees? I can really tell when a storm is coming in..about every other day! I hope your Physio is helping. shinyhappytina , (I giggle every time I type this because it is the PERFECT user name for you.) I have to agree with others that you are doing a very tough workout. Do you think you could do a bit for me each day? If you get a minute, we would love to have you post some of your layouts here. I love seeing your children grow up. woodysbetty , what a fun way to meet new neighbors. They do that in Japan also. My DD had to arrive with cards made with both her Japanese host parents address and her home address. We made up the standard 100, and had to order more soon thereafter. She came home with boxes of them and has had a way to stay in contact with some people for 20 years. I'm excited for you to get to the end of your building project. Won't it be nice to settle in. I'll be thinking of you on the 8th. joyfulnana , I loved the way you scrapped with your mother. A couple of trips to Hobby Lobby would be a great scrappy day for me. I'm glad you had the time together and with your son. Have you started your stocking? Ok, friends, I must have been sleeping under a rock somewhere with Rip Van Winkle, because I don't know what the 100 Day project is. Can someone fill me in? I have seen several references, but don't have a clue. (nothing new around here) I may not accomplish much scrapping this month. The eye doctor saw something suspicious in DH's eye and sent us to an Eye Surgeon/Oncologist. The diagnosis was cancer. The treatments sound pretty rough, but they are still trying to get him scheduled for a PET scan and for Ins. coverage for the treatment. We won't really know much for a couple of weeks. Last resort if it has gone too far is removal of the eye. It breaks my heart for him. He's been through a lot the past few years. This "old age stuff" is not for sissies.

So, because it is hard for me to stay motivated throughout the year to create and be "scrafty" I started a project based on a couple of events that go on in the scrappy world. One is a monthly (March) event called Calvinball, and the other is an event that began on 4/2/19 call 100days. I love Calvinball, but due to the County Craft Creations Hometown USA retreat and other obligations I has in March I was not able to participate as much as I wanted to so I am creating my own event where I will use the Calvinball rules for points, and extending the 100 day project to 331 days (which I think should be 04/03/19 - 02/28/20).
To keep me on track ladies, I am going to post here daily what "scrafty" thing I did each day and how many points I gave myself based on the Calvinball point system.
Wish me luck.

Wow kellyr21 I love that painting! It's so beautiful! And yep, I shop at Walmart! I get the best jeans there! Not $2.00 though! LOL! I used to be kind of snobbish about where I shopped, but as I've gotten older I've realized it doesn't matter where I buy my clothes and they have decent deals! woodysbetty I love your layout and I'm so happy to see you getting settled in your new environment and loving it! I would love to live near water. And mountains! I can have both right? Awesome about the upgraded microwave! maribeth "scrafty" is such a cool word! And that's a good idea to combine the challenges to keep yourself motivated. Even if it's on your own timeline - in fact that's even better! Can't wait to see what you create! Oh no nylene! That's heartbreaking news! grammadee is right, you two do NOT deserve this! You've already been through so much - the both of you! I'm so sorry. I hope they can treat it without surgery. I can't even imagine what he's going through. I started my stocking yesterday (still need to get my knitting for today!) The 100 day project is really just choosing something you want to work on for 100 days - whether it's a skill you want to get better at, a project you want to work on, etc. You choose something and work at it for 100 days. Most people choose a skill they want to develop I believe, like drawing faces, or writing. There's a thread here discussing it. I thought this would be good motivation for me to get that stocking done lol. Hahahahaha grammadee I laughed out loud at you saying you moan at having to do physio because I do believe it! shinyhappytina that's awesome you do Orange Theory and love it! I workout at home when I manage to. I started at home workouts waaayyyy back with Taebo LOL! I worked my way up to P90X but that was years ago lol. I have about 30 lbs I need to lose and I just haven't buckled down to do it. Good for you for doing it! LisaDV and linda move over on that bench. I'm not a meticulous housekeeper either. It's neat enough and that works for me. I try hard not to use the oven unless I have to just because of the way it heats up my apartment. I tend to rely on my toaster oven a lot so that I don't have to turn on the oven. LisaDV omg that song! Hilarious! And what a state of the art toaster! I had no idea such things existed! To answer grammadee - I stared scrapping in 2002 I think. My SIL told me to bring photos with me when we came to visit. She wouldn't tell me why, just bring photos. She introduced me to scrapping then and I haven't looked back. I've taken breaks from it for sometimes as much as 5 years or so a couple of times but I always come back. My albums are all over the place and when I decided not to scrap chronologically anymore I also stopped chronological albums. I just put layouts in the album that belongs to each person usually, but not in any order. That's so cool that justjac got you stared grammadee! I got my mom and several nieces and my sons GF started. I remember my youngest DS telling me that there was no point in doing this because I wouldn't have time except on the weekends lol. But he loves his books

Good Morning ladies Day 1 of my 331 day challenge of doing at least 1 scrafty thing each day using Calvinball 2019 points - 4/03/19 - 17 points - I cut 4 die cuts for giveaway to scrafty friends, I prepared 13 envelops for my Passbook Pals group for Stamp trades, made 4 greeting cards and enveloped those for mail. A great start to my first day if I do say so myself. Lets see what today brings me. nylene - a retreat in Utah would be great, if that happens I would have to plan to stay over a night in Orem so I could spend the day with your in your craft room, that would be so fun. joyfulnana - no pics today sorry, but there will be soon. Just in a hurry to get the items I created at the retreat and some of the cards I made are going to people on this board so I didn't want to show them before they get them. I hope all you ladies have a scrafty day! See you in the morning.

Linda, No oven or stove stinks. I agree with you completely on slow-cooked food. You must not listen to the timing directions and just take the temp and take it out when it’s ready. I also feel that way about most frozen meals. They just lose something in the freezer. But both are great time savers for those busy days. I used those hot plates, electric griddle, electric skillet and my crockpot to cook on before we got a stove at the farm. So I was all set to tell you to make your DH see this as a priority. But that dinner sounds delicious and so much less work than we normally do. It’s also summer so salads are a perfect dinner, no heating up the kitchen. grammadee, I love your scrap story!! See the difference is I don’t work outside the home. I have always been into crafty endeavors – sewing and painting being the 2 main ones. When ds was little, I needed an outlet that was easy to leave on a moments notice, if baby woke from a nap. I created cards to send out for ds and that led to scrapbooking. Then with 2, pages were created early morning or late at night when I’d sneak away for ½ hour here or there while they slept. Most of them were probably created when my niece would come visit me to play with the kids and scrap with me. DH would take care of the kids on Saturday so we could have the whole day. He would make us ruby red margaritas at night. (you can see why I keep him around.) Then digital and I got out of the dungeon with my craft room (it was in the sub-basement at the Indiana house). It’s never been back in a basement since. nylene, it would be awesome to have the robot maid. I’ll tell DH if they’re looking for ideas… 100 days is a project on the web, usually kept track of on Instagram. You choose something to do for 100 days in a row. We have a thread here on 2peas so if you don’t won’t to go to IG you can just share here. OH NO! Poor Steve, Poor you! I’m so sorry that you have yet one more thing to go through. I will keep him and a positive outcome in my prayers with strength and peace for your whole family. Big but gentle Bear Hugs. maribeth, that’s quite the endeavor. Good luck! You can do it! joyfulnana, my dh is quite the toast guy. When he saw it, his eyes got as big and round as saucers. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth the price tag, however, it really is very good toast. I’m not really a toast person. DS says now dad has something to obsess over like mom has her food processor. Lol. He’s not wrong. I love “hearing” everyone’s beginning scrap stories. Also that Linda and I aren't alone in the "eh, good enough" house keeping department.

LisaDV - not really, the main accomplishment for me is just to do at least one scrafty thing every day. Even if that is mailing out a card, cutting a die cut, punching a border. Just something. I get so wrapped up in my awful work environment that when I get home I tend to just sit to decompress, and the next thing you know I have done nothing and it is time for bed. So my thinking was even if I do one of those little things I will get one point and the hope is if I can push that envelope that much, well maybe it will motivate me to do two things that evening. Anything to get me out of just sitting and sulking and not taking advantage of the time I do have. Does that make sense?

I'm so glad that I'm not alone on my indifferent housekeeper bench Thanks for the solidarity! nylene - you and your DH are in my prayers maribeth - your project sounds super! What an awesome way to self-motivate! LisaDV - I think DH is finally starting to see that no stove/oven is inconvenient for HIM also. Last night I had planned loaded baked potatoes and asked him when he wanted dinner - between work and DD12's play or after the play? He decided that it would be easier to go to Taco Bell after the play than worry about timing on the potatoes in the crockpot. Eating out is HIS discretionary spending not my grocery money so...we'll have loaded baked potatoes next week. I'm taking DD12 Girl Scout camping this weekend so DH will be batching it - I suspect he'll eat a steady diet of sandwiches, cereal, and fast food as I don't think he has a clue how to use the slow cooker or any of the other small appliances (he probably doesn't even know where I store them). The Camporee is Star Wars themed and we're sharing a campsite with my niece's troop (she's the leader for her two daughters who bracket DD12 in age) - DD will enjoy seeing her cousins again. Camping is one of the activities that is harder as a Juliette (independent, not troop-based) Girl Scout so it was nice to be invited to this.

I started scrapbooking in 2001. Creative Memories had been big at the school I worked at the previous year (but no one invited me to a party), so I put a scrapbooking kit on my Christmas list and never looked back.
I am in danger of over-committing myself (again.) My photography class runs for two more weeks, and I need to take a portrait, landscape, close up, and story (5 pics that tell a story) for my final class. I also signed up for a photoshop class that starts tonight. And I might be directing a one act play for our local arts festival. I would probably pass on the play, but they asked me specifically if I would be interested and I'm such a people pleaser.
nylene sending hugs and prayers to you and your DH. LisaDV have a wonderful anniversary date!
For my 100 Day Project, I am stamping and colouring images to use on cards. So far I am using my Spectrum Noir markers, but I will use my coloured pencils and watercolour markers, too.
I've really enjoyed reading what everyone is up to. Have a great weekend.
