Shanahan, Acting Secretary of Defense, who has been undergoing confirmation hearings, has now withdrawn from the position. This follows the WaPo story about domestic abuse allegations and a contentious divorce. Not exactly the best time to be without an experienced Secretary of Defense with us currently under threat of nuclear was from both Iran and North Korea. Can't they vet people? How hard is it to follow the most basic investigation procedures. I swear I was investigated more thoroughly for my former job, then anyone currently serving in the white House. Shanahan was the victim. His former wife was the abuser... Also a substance abuser. Depends on who you believe. She’s not talking. They’re are allegations he hit his wife. He certainly covered for his son when the son beat the ex-wife with a baseball bat, cracked her skull and caused internal injuries leading to surgery and an icu stay.

linkReuters... “Exclusive: Overruling his experts, Pompeo keeps Saudis off U.S. child soldiers list”
From the article... “ WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has blocked the inclusion of Saudi Arabia on a U.S. list of countries that recruit child soldiers, dismissing his experts' findings that a Saudi-led coalition has been using under-age fighters in Yemen’s civil war, according to four people familiar with the matter. The decision, which drew immediate criticism from human rights activists and a top Democratic lawmaker, could prompt new accusations that U.S. President Donald Trump's administration is prioritizing security and economic interests in relations with oil-rich Saudi Arabia, a major U.S. ally and arms customer. Pompeo's move followed unusually intense internal debate. It comes amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran, the Saudis’ bitter regional rival.

This morning they said there were no plans...........' Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Mark Morgan said in an interview with The Hill Tuesday that his agency is committed to removing as many undocumented immigrants as it can with its available resources. Speaking a day after President Trump tweeted that ICE would begin the process next week of removing millions of illegal immigrants from the country, Morgan said it would not be possible in one quick swoop for his agency to remove all 11 million of the nation’s estimated undocumented immigrants. But he indicated ICE is determined to carry out the president’s policies, and he criticized those who have demonized the agency. ** thehill.com/latino/449163-ice-chief-affirms-trump-effort-to-remove-undocumented-immigrants

Well he is getting his military parade! Too bad Washington DC is still owed 7 million plus from the inaugration! President Trump reportedly intends to have military planes, including one of the jets used as Air Force One, fly over the National Mall for next month’s July Fourth celebration. The Washington Post, citing three people briefed on the plans, reported Tuesday that Trump, who has regularly been briefed on the event, hopes to imitate the Bastille Day celebration he attended in 2017 in France sparked his desire for a July Fourth affair. Trump would not be on the presidential aircraft during the event, sources told the newspaper. ** “We are deeply troubled that the president’s involvement at the event will turn the long-standing, nonpartisan celebration into a de facto campaign rally conducted at taxpayer expense that will serve to further divide rather than unify the nation,” they wrote. “We are also concerned that the decision to expand the event to include a potential Presidential address will require the National Park Service to divert resources from other priorities of the Mall or other national park system units at a time when it is facing significant budgetary pressures to address its $12 billion deferred maintenance backlog and accommodate record-setting visitation.” Van Hollen and D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D) also wrote to congressional appropriators Tuesday, saying additional funds were needed for the District of Columbia’s Emergency Planning and Security Fund before it runs out of money in July. It is in danger of going in the red partially because it has not yet been reimbursed $7.3 million for costs from Trump’s 2017 inauguration. ** thehill.com/homenews/administration/449218-trump-planning-air-force-one-flyover-during-july-4-celebration-at

Prior to be appointed civilian Army Secretary, Mark Esper, was the chief lobbyist for defense contractor Raytheon. No conflicts there! He was the 4th choice as the others, 1,2 and 3 were worse............
Now his name may/will be submitted by dt for Sec of Defense?!?!?!?!?!? Can we say CONFLICTS?!?!?

Which sounds odd if she was a substance abuser and physically abusive, and he was the normal one. The following is my perspective only. Call me a skeptic, but I would assume that HE was the one with the unlimited money and power of multiple Attorneys, so this result is particularly interesting. (and I view this with 25 years as a caseworker and legal assistant in the Family Courts). I suspect that she was charges originally, but after investigation, he was going to be charged, and they negotiated a settlement regarding dropping domestic abuse charges against both and she got custody. And she has a gag order since she isn't talking. This would have destroyed his career, so he settled.

What vetting process? He doesn’t have one. his TOTAL vetting process is "how do they look when they're interviewed on TV?" (mixed in with a little bit of 'how much money did they give me or my campaign') the 'how much money did you give me' is because I heard yesterday that the woman who was appointed the Ambassador to Canada (some person from Kentucky coal $$ who donated a LOT of $$ to him) is his next pick for UN Ambassador... She was asked what she thought about climate change, and her quote was something like, "both sides make very good points; I believe both of them..."

trump’s rant of the day. Same old same old..
”The Dems are very unhappy with the Mueller Report, so after almost 3 years, they want a Redo, or Do Over. This is extreme Presidential Harassment. They gave Crooked Hillary’s people complete Immunity, yet now they bring back Hope Hicks. Why aren’t the Dems looking at the.....”
”33,000 Emails that Hillary and her lawyer deleted and acid washed AFTER GETTING A SUBPOENA FROM CONGRESS? That is real Obstruction that the Dems want no part of because their hearings are RIGGED and a disgrace to our Country!”
I learned something in reading a reply to one of trump’s tweet.. There is no such thing as an “acid wash” when it comes to deleted anything on a computer.
And as someone pointed out to his tweet...
”Right, no justification for investigations...
✅ Trump Tower “adoption” lie ✅ Trump Advisor Roger Stone Indicted ✅ Trump Chair Paul Manafort Convicted ✅ Trump Lawyer Michael Cohen Pled Guilty ✅ Trump Aide Rick Gates Pled Guilty ✅ Trump NSA Advisor Michael Flynn Pled Guilty”

I have never heard a president talk about the polls as much as this poor pathetic insecure little man does...
”If I didn’t have the Phony Witch Hunt going on for 3 years, and if the Fake News Media and their partner in Crime, the Democrats, would have played it straight, I would be way up in the Polls right now - with our Economy, winning by 20 points. But I’m winning anyway!”

It would appear trump has new favorite words besides “WITCH HUNT”
”So sad that the Democrats are putting wonderful Hope Hicks through hell, for 3 years now, after total exoneration by Robert Mueller & the Mueller Report. They were unhappy with result so they want a Do Over. Very unfair & costly to her. Will it ever end? Why aren’t they.......”
”asking Hillary Clinton why she deleted and acid washed her Emails AFTER getting a subpoena from Congress? Anybody else would be in jail for that, yet the Dems refuse to even bring it up. Rigged House Committee”
New favorite words? “rigged” and “acid wash”.

A federal judge on Wednesday said he would reconsider whether there was a discriminatory intent behind the Trump administration’s addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 census.Judge George Hazel, an Obama appointee, had previously ruled against the question, finding that officials acted arbitrarily and capriciously in adding it to the 2020 census, violating federal law. He said in the initial ruling in April that there was not enough evidence to determine whether officials had intended to discriminate against minority Americans. But Hazel on Wednesday ruled in favor of advocacy groups’ request to reexamine a potential discriminatory intent in adding the question after the groups filed new evidence in the case.He wrote in a brief order that the groups have raised “a substantial issue” in the case. Hazel indicated in the order that an opinion further explaining his reasoning would be released shortly. ** thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/449386-judge-to-reconsider-whether-discrimination-behind-trump-censusIt's a start... Washington Post...
“Steel industry begins to idle plants, shows signs of weakness — despite Trump’s support”
”U.S. Steel announced it will temporarily halt production at two domestic plants despite the boost from the Trump administration’s tariffs, as a steel industry singled out for federal support shows signs of weakening.
On Tuesday, U.S. Steel said it would temporarily halt operations at a blast furnace near Detroit as well as one in Gary, Ind., on the shore of Lake Michigan. U.S. Steel will be idling a third plant in Europe, the company said.
The closure runs in sharp contrast to the narrative President Trump has offered about the steel industry. Tuesday night in Orlando, as he formally announced he was running for reelection, Trump boasted about helping the steel industry through the use of tariffs on imports.
“Thanks to our tariffs, American steel mills are roaring back to life, you know that,” he said.”

(CNN)The first independent report on the murder of Jamal Khashoggi has finally been released. Agnes Callamard, the UN's special rapporteur, has laid out in detail evidence that suggests not only did Saudi officials at the highest level plan and carry out the killing, but that they carefully planned how best to hide the murder from the international community. Here are the report's key findings: Mohammed bin Salman bears responsibility and should be investigatedThe report concludes that the murder was planned, organized and carried out by officials working on the behalf of the state of Saudi Arabia. Under international human rights law, that means that the responsibility ultimately falls on the ruling Saudi royal family, the de facto head of which is Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS). The report said there is "credible evidence meriting further investigation by a proper authority" as to whether the "threshold of criminal responsibility has been met." ** The world should slap sanctions on MBSIn the report, Callamard suggests that the current international sanctions in place on the Saudis are insufficient, and that Mohammed bin Salman and his personal assets should be hit by targeted sanctions "until and unless evidence is provided and corroborated that he carries no responsibilities for this execution." ** www.cnn.com/2019/06/19/middleeast/khashoggi-saudi-arabia-un-report-findings-intl/index.htmlMore at link!
