I finally got finished with a card I've been trying to make for a couple of weeks. My friend became a realtor and suggested that she would buy cards to give to her clients when she hands over the keys. I made some but they weren't great, but the "realtor thank you card" tags get me lots of hits on Etsy that don't lead to sales. So I felt like I should try to make some better ones. This one would work for both realtors to give to buyers and for buyers to give to their realtors, and probably for contractors, architects, and the like too, if anyone gives them cards. I'm going to work on some more designs that have more detailed sentiments. I got the bridge card instructions and found the house stamps through a Jennifer McGuire video. Hoping that now I have these ones done (I had a sample version that I was able to finish too, so I have 2) I will have broken through the creative block I had on these designs. I only have two more challenges to complete this month on the GingerScraps site to get a free kit. For this particular challenge we were given a free mini kit by Connie Prince. I also used a template from the 'Fuzz on the Peach' set, again by Connie Prince. After I'd finished the LO, I realised that part of the challenge was to use the quote "What is life but one grand adventure". These photos don't fit that quote, so now I have to change it around to add the quote and find new photos. Aaaargh! But in the meantime I decided to post the LO here anyway. Points: 22 ETA: And here is the second LO I did, after reading the GingerScraps challenge guidelines correctly. I changed the photos and title, and added the required quote. And guess what - I'm gonna claim points for this one too - sue me! Points: 32 (additional points for premade word and Time Traveller)

I need to give that page some love in the Gallery, AussieMeg . LOVE all the blues... Here are a couple of really simple pages from me. Took about as long as a two pager usually does, but most of my time was spent figuring out what I was going to cut on the Silhouette and how to get the title all pieced together. I think the boys will like these pages. May replace their handwritten names with letter stickers, though. AussieMeg, you are blowing me away with all your travel pages! And your two different takes on the one design are both really cool. Just now left love for your bridge card, joblackford. I am sure it will be a hit in your shop! I misread your description on Flickr, and thought you had used a hand made stencil for the card shape, but now I realize the stencil was for the inking of the clouds. Did you use a die for this card, or a cutfile? Or did you figure out the pieces on your own?

Just now left love for your bridge card, joblackford. I am sure it will be a hit in your shop! I misread your description on Flickr, and thought you had used a hand made stencil for the card shape, but now I realize the stencil was for the inking of the clouds. Did you use a die for this card, or a cutfile? Or did you figure out the pieces on your own? Yup, the stencil was for the clouds - I'm too cheap to buy a cloud stencil when I've been able to draw and cut cloud shapes since I was a child! The bridge card is actually very simple to make just with a score board! I got the instructions from the Jennifer McGuire video below. The main piece is 8x4.5" with scoring at 1.25 and 2.5" from each side to fit in a standard A2 envelope. There's a little bridge inside that's mostly hidden that's 4" wide with score lines 0.5" in on each side to anchor, which can be any height you want depending on whether you want it to be seen. The front bridge can be any height, I used a 1" piece that I hand cut into a slope, and it will be 5.5" if you want it to go edge to edge. So you can make the whole card from a single piece of cardstock. I had my ScanNCut cut the stamped houses and trees out for me For lots of additional details and other options:

As always, I will be spending the rest of this week calculating points! I will also be calculating points all weekend. I need to do it today! I'm halfway current... but I have family coming to town this weekend for birthdays and the state fair so I should probably wrap things today rather than hoping I might find some time over the weekend.

Almost forgot to share these Halloween cards I made to donate. I bought some big double sided die cuts at Michaels last year, discounted. Stuck them onto a variety of Halloween themed papers I had in my stash. Some have multiples, some are one offs, just depending on how much paper I had. They should work well for Cards for Hospitalized Kids. Halloween cards, Michael’s die cuts by jo.blackford, on Flickr

The background "paper" on this LO is a copy of the painting on the wall at the restaurant, from the artist's website. I used a couple of elements from the 'Tropical' kit by Neia scraps, and a couple of other bits and pieces that I didn't note down. I had real trouble with the placement of the photos and journal blocks on this page, because I didn't want to hide too much of the painting. I probably should have made it a two pager. Anyway, it's done. (Except I just realised that I didn't include the date on the LO. I will have to go back and do that later.) Points: #3 water colour, #11 story teller (7), #14 heart, #20 date night, #23 rectangles, #24 square, #31 selfish, #33 flowers, #41 dots (3), #44 mixed media, #45 cluster fun (2), #46 all tied up (2), #56 stash busting (4), #60 family & friends, #61 freebies, #63 photo taken by someone else TOTAL = 30 points

Will be back to leave love in a bit. Here is my last two pager for the month. Started this day before yesterday but couldn't figure out what to do with the title (and with the couple of cards I had from a BoBunny kit which I located in my stash for these two pages...) But this morning I saw a piece of OA woodgrain and immediately knew what to do! I have an all day crop coming up next weekend, and hope to scrap a lot of good stuff, so that will at least get me started!
