Some good things: We went out to Christmas Eve dinner at a local chain called Hops & Drops. Such a terrible name! But it was good. We got a family photo with all of us in it, 3 pretty decent photos. SILs were insistent, and Iβm so glad. We drove around to see Xmas lights and it was WAY behind expectations. So many lights on a couple of large properties. We figured out that there had been some misunderstandings between all of us and MIL, and SIL hopefully fixed the problem - sheβs planning to come over for real Christmas dinner tonight. My SILs went last minute holiday shopping and the only drama was a guy yelling about leaving Barnes &Noble a bad Yelp review It sounds like we might go back to see the gingerbread village and Seattle lights with the whole family on Boxing Day. My nephew might sort of still believe in Santa, but my haphazard wrapping paper choices may clue him in to the truth... Heβs 10. He may just be humoring us I hope you all have/had a lovely Christmas! Fingers crossed that you made it to Disneyland Paris sleepingbooty <3

And the big day is finally here! It is going well in our household. Laid back. Relaxed.
I took an obnoxious amount of photos during gift opening.
And then when all was calm, i took selfies with my camera's timer setting.

I thought you all would appreciate this - my 14 year old DS gave me the best Christmas gift for my December Daily - he went to the mall and had photos taken with Santa! He has a huge smile on his face and bought the total package - lots of prints, all the digitals, the special greeting card. He also picked up all the ephemera from the booth "for your scrapbook". He hasn't consented to a Santa photo since he was 7, so this was a big deal. I love that kid!

Merry Christmas ladies!! Our celebration wrapped up here and weβre on the road back home and Iβm ready to move onto 2020 and finishing up this project. I have through day 21 completed in my album (and shared on my instagram @lindalovescreating) and hope to finish it this weekend and move onto one little word and project life 2020 (plus project life 2019 catch up... Iβm up to September). Thanks sleepingbooty for hosting this thread, as always. I hope we can keep it going as we finish up our albums!!

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you all had/are having a peaceful wonderful holiday with family and friends. I had a lovely day yesterday and have been enjoying a semi relaxing Boxing Day. My Christmas gift to myself was a set of the 6 Alex drawers, which fit perfectly under my crafting table. Got those put together this morning and I'm finally organising all my inks into drawers and a having a mini tidy up in the craft room. It was lovely here yesterday and today although there are a few showers forecast for Saturday. Hope your tickets for Disneyland Paris will work out sleepingbooty and safe travels to anyone on the road!

Happy Christmas everyone! I just finished the last episode of Home for Christmas (and then came across joblackford 's IG post too) I can't remember if it was sleepingbooty or joblackford who pointed us in that direction, but I wanted to say thank you !! DH and I have loved it. As for the ending...well! Who do we think was there? I'm kind of sad it's finished. Hope Father Christmas/Santa Claus/whoever delivers the surprises was as clever/lovely/generous as carolynhasacat's son and that we all find those extra few chances to take another photo for the journal!

Nonstop Christmas frenzy is a good description, karinec! I had my doubts about pulling this one off, but it finally all came together. Whew! I spent the day organizing and printing December photos, and got 8 pages done in my December journal. Finally documenting the month feels like a luxurious well-deserved reward. Giving all of you a round of applause for surviving the season so far! I hope you are enjoying time with loved ones, despite any loss and difficulties of last year.

Merry December 27th everyone. We have been so so busy hosting Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and boxing day. Thank goodness my DS did all the cooking for the first two days. He is a wonderful cook. Having worked at catering for ISU, he was instructing us that were helping him like a pro at work, rather than a son at home. I was so proud of him. I had no idea he was so knowledgeable in all things cooking and decorating tables related. I'm very grateful to hime because Ii took a lot of stress off my shoulders. My older DS arrived with his new-to-us girlfriend on the 22nd. They leave on the 1st. This same son's friend arrived last night and is sleeping on the couch as I type this. My younger son (the chef) has been living with us since September. For two people that are pretty quiet and a bit introverted, the house is feeling a bit crowded. But in a good way.
On boxing day we hosted my DF Evelyn and her daughter. Her husband died on January 5th. He spent all of last year"s holidays in the hospital. He went home for three days at Thanksgiving, but then was in the hospital until he passed away. She did not want to do anything this year. Our families always got together switching sides as to who would host it. I convinced her to come but that we would change what we did when we got together. So she picked four recipes that her husband loved (he was an awesome chef too) and we cooked them all together. It was such a wonderful experience. We all (7 of us) had the recipes on our phones. My DS (the chef) chose his recipe and then directed us to "read through the recipe". It was utter chaos. Evelyn sat on a chair in the kitchen while the rest of us tried to cook without bumping into each other. My DS must have said "read through the recipe" at least 20 times. We were all laughing and Evelyn and her daughter where reminiscing about Gordy. It was a heartwarming experience. I highly recommend this new tradition for anyone who is mourning the loss of a loved one.

Happy 3rd day of Christmas, or Friday December 27th, if you are done with celebrating already.
I was so grumpy yesterday, just sick of people and obligations and family members not listening or communicating with each other! And also public places that smell like marijuana. Gah. Can you tell I'm descending into full introvert mode? lol. All I want to do is walk around in fresh air (sunshine would be nice) and not have to talk to people, listen to my book, play with photos, reorganize my craft corner, and declutter. So I guess I'm ready for January.
No, but it's been fun. We've been taking Grandpa out on adventures so he's not sitting around the house missing his wife. On Boxing Day we took the ferry to Seattle, went on the Great Wheel, visited the gingerbread and teddy bear displays, admired the Macy's star decoration, had a meal, then sat in front of the gas fire and watched American Pickers while SIL got the facial that otherSIL booked for her as a Xmas gift.
Still coming up: inner-tubing at a ski field, Lumaze (light maze) on NY Eve, and probably Prancing/walking & Plunging (into a cold lake) on NY Day. And then everyone goes home and life can get back to normal.
I'm hoping to carve out some time this weekend for reviewing the photos I've taken, catching up on my Highlights book, and making a year review photo book for my family.
Also dreaming of traveling next Christmas! I'm so envious of friends I see spending the holidays in cool cities.

Happy 3rd Day of Christmas everyone!
Everyone was doing their own thing this evening so I settled in at my scrapbook desk and worked on my december album. It hasn't quite turned out the way I planned it but I'm liking it and it's coming together nicely. It's less of a December Daily and more of a December Documented, lol- there's a page/day from the First Sunday of Advent through the 4th Sunday of Advent ((Dec 22nd) but they aren't all from/about that specific day. Then starting the 23rd and continuing through the 25th, there will be multiple pages/day. I anticipate only a handful more after that during the 12 days. I'm aiming to finish up on Epiphany.
I've included events, traditions, gatherings...and I think it'll end up a nice snapshot of how Advent and Christmas look for our family. I'm not planning to do an annual album - this is a once and done thing for me, I think, but I'm enjoying doing it. I'm working on December 23rd now so not too far behind

Prompt nΒ°26: My true love(s) gave to me...On the second day of Christmas, it's finally time for some quiet and calm. The gifts have been opened, family has been seen, friends have been called. Where does this leave you as the Yuletide season slows down? What did it bring you? Material gifts, acts of love and random kindness, feelings, knowledge and wisdom from discussions and opinions shared, favourite memories made, etc. If you haven't yet given yourself the opportunity to delve into a more reflective prompt, this is the right moment to do so. Photo ideas: How your home looks after the "Christmas storm", everybody gathered to eat a meal made from Christmas dinner leftovers, a sneaky secret portrait of your loved ones spending time together. Song of the day:

Prompt nΒ°27: Christmas and everything afterThe holidays have their peak day: the 23rd for those celebrating Saturnalia, the 25th for the Christmas crowd, etc. But what happens after? Today's prompt is all about looking at those days after your peak day. Do the holidays keep going in your household? Does the tree stay up for a while longer? Do you bake or cook festive things still? Do you have to go back to work or do you get to extend the holiday? Do you enjoy keeping all the decorations up a while longer? Are you still watching Christmassy movies and listening to seasonal music? Do you keep the spirit going a bit longer? Do you perhaps work your way through the 12 days of Christmas (or celebrate the full 8 days of Hanukkah and so on) until Epiphany? Document the perhaps quieter but possibly still festive holiday "afterglow." Photo ideas: What goes on the table (meals from leftovers, special treats), the first decorations being taken down, taking the tree out to be recycled/put away in its box, any 12 days of Christmas tradition, donating some toys/books/stuff to make place for the new ones. Song of the day:

sleepingbooty I hope your travel plans work out today. And hope that where ever you are, you are with those you love and enjoy. Thank you for guiding and leading this thread for us all! Thank you for the kind wishes! *fuzzy feels* I'm just the one kicking in the door, you all are the ones leading each other and every single one of us through the December Daily madness so thank you to everyone participating in here for making all the fun, excitement, encouragement and inspiration happen. β€οΈ We got a family photo with all of us in it, 3 pretty decent photos. SILs were insistent, and Iβm so glad. The documenter's SILs doing the documenter's job. π We drove around to see Xmas lights and it was WAY behind expectations. So many lights on a couple of large properties. Don't you love it when other people's passion for Christmas dΓ©cor can be enjoyed by all? I love pointing at pretty Christmas lights, trees and decorations all around (obviously, not mine) and go: "Oh, look at my pretty garden all decked out for Christmas! Look at the great job we did with the lights this year!" π Fingers crossed that you made it to Disneyland Paris sleepingbooty <3 Nope. Another trip cancelled. This strike, I swear... (I mean, just let me go to Disneyland for a day and then strike on π) We're attempting again next week. Fingers and toes crossed! I took an obnoxious amount of photos during gift opening. And then when all was calm, i took selfies with my camera's timer setting. A scrapbooker with a plan! π· Love that you took the time to take a few selfies... Weβre going to see Little Women this afternoon. Excuse you, Madame, this has turned into a makeshift movie review thread. How many stars out of five? Worth the cinema ticket price? π§ my 14 year old DS gave me the best Christmas gift for my December Daily - he went to the mall and had photos taken with Santa! He has a huge smile on his face and bought the total package - lots of prints, all the digitals, the special greeting card. He also picked up all the ephemera from the booth "for your scrapbook". Aww, awwww, AWWWWWW! π This is such an incredibly thoughtful gift. I clutched my heart when I read your post. Very special Santa memories and an even more special attention. You win at the best-Christmast-gift-received game! Our celebration wrapped up here and weβre on the road back home and Iβm ready to move onto 2020 and finishing up this project. I have through day 21 completed in my album Kudos to you for almost being done with the project! π I hope you had a safe trip back home and have found some time to wrap up your DD. Thanks sleepingbooty for hosting this thread, as always. I hope we can keep it going as we finish up our albums!! My pleasure, lasteve1 . You ladies do all the work, honestly. π I only started the thread and post the occasional gif. π I had to put on my stretchy pants after Christmas dinner to go the movies. That's going to make for excellent DD fodder. High five, scrappyem ! I wore a stretch fabric dress and comfy tights for the occasion. And then I rubbed and cupped my Christmad dinner food baby... π Long live ALL the nice stuff to stuff your face with over the holidays! I had a lovely day yesterday and have been enjoying a semi relaxing Boxing Day. My Christmas gift to myself was a set of the 6 Alex drawers, which fit perfectly under my crafting table. Great Christmas gift! But of course, you've got me wondering now how you managed to find IKEA furniture in NZ. Did they finally open? Did you finally get to enjoy discounted Christmas Vinter collection goodies? just finished the last episode of Home for Christmas (and then came across joblackford 's IG post too) I can't remember if it was sleepingbooty or joblackford who pointed us in that direction, but I wanted to say thank you !! DH and I have loved it. As for the ending...well! Who do we think was there? I only remember that when I mentioned it, joblackford had already begun watching it. She was aiming for the nice list though: she limited herself to 1 episode a day. I was 100% naughty and binged it. Forgive me, Santa? π¬ So glad this thread is spreading the Home for Christmas love! I also really enjoyed Home for Christmas and was so surprised at the ending. Given the cliffhanger, are we perhaps in for season 2?? That's the talk around town... As soon as it was released, people speculated Netflix might look into a second season if the viewership numbers are good. For Netflix to be allowed to operate in the EU, they need to produce EU content (made in the EU with EU staff and also meeting EU language diversity). This would be a solid candidate to meet their EU content volume in 2020.

I hope it was the good kind of crazy... May you find some time to relax soon! π€ I spent the day organizing and printing December photos, and got 8 pages done in my December journal. Finally documenting the month feels like a luxurious well-deserved reward. Go you! So nice that you can now enjoy the creating part of the project and that it feels like a reward. π Now that I wonβt ruin anyone surprise Iβll update on my advent calendar. I loved it That's a great calendar! Thanks for sharing. Loads of smaller elements that will fit your planner memory-keeping format as well. π Thank goodness my DS did all the cooking for the first two days. He is a wonderful cook. Now that's a great Christmas gift! Nothing like someone helping out and taking on part of the workload, especially for something such a big task. On boxing day we hosted my DF Evelyn and her daughter. Her husband died on January 5th. He spent all of last year"s holidays in the hospital. He went home for three days at Thanksgiving, but then was in the hospital until he passed away. She did not want to do anything this year. I convinced her to come but that we would change what we did when we got together. So she picked four recipes that her husband loved (he was an awesome chef too) and we cooked them all together. It was such a wonderful experience. Very touching tribute to her late husband and a beautiful way to keep him alive during the holidays. Food is such an important part of social gatherings so I find it very fitting that you honoured him through what gets shared and what nourishes you. I'm so glad you insisted and managed to convince her to come over. It will have made a great difference in her experience of this first Christmas without him. π We've been taking Grandpa out on adventures so he's not sitting around the house missing his wife. So happy to read stories like these. It's important to take care of one another. I love that you took Grandpa out on adventures for the holidays! Your Seattle excursion sounds wonderful. π Also dreaming of traveling next Christmas! I'm so envious of friends I see spending the holidays in cool cities. City lovers, unite! Sending you good vibes for a 2020 Christmas in an exciting city with loads of cool museums to visit, special drinks and food to try and the joys of hotel life (fresh towels, not having to make your bed, no cleaning: what's not to love?). Sounds like you made the perfect December album for your family and holiday season, Linda. It definitely doesn't have to be daily. I think you're going to have a wonderful time flipping through this album and looking back on your Yuletide season years down the line. Have you considered adding a couple of yearly spreads with your very favourite memories and photos? It's a great way to keep the independent December/Christmas album going without getting overwhelmed.
