OK, I kinda want the advent calendar! Why should the kids get all the fun?

12 numbered envelopes? Is it a semi-Advent calendar? I make secular Advent calendars yearly for several important adults in my life. I have small clothespins from AliExpress, box dies and whatnot. I wouldn't buy a basic Advent calendar kit to do this. This type of project is a wonderful way to use up paper, embellishments and dig into dies! Those with overflowing stashes should totally consider making one this year. ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MSZirfLXsDTg15EDMD9C.jpg) I love to stuff these with things like tiny chocolates and biscuits/cookies, tea bags, home-made hot cocoa mix, scented chapstick, silly Christmas jokes/puns, rolls of pretty washi tape, decorated plasters/bandages, etc. There were some super cute ones made by design team members from a French scrap brand that I'd shared last year and still love dearly: ![](https://blog.scrapmalin.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/5932d20b5a145d30e6a6dc17349ab3bf3776100e_presentation-650x325.jpg) ![](http://blog.kesi-art.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Calendrier-de-l-avent-kesiart-marienicolasalliot-15.jpg)

While I *like* the idea of a scrappy Advent calendar, I am not sure I trust Ali + Inked not to skimp on something I can't see ahead of time. Like, would there be anything of dimension in it? Or is it 12 days of paper tags?

I asked for confirmation that whatever comes with the advent calendar is new pieces just for the kit and not duplicates of the current kits or leftovers from previous years.

Earlier in the comments they say the items have the same texture as some of the kit/add on items but they aren't the same - just something fun. Hard pass for me. Way too vague about whats in there.

You know we all have a stash so maybe we should make this and do a pea swap...

Also it’s annoying there are only 12 bags. Surely they could have stumped up a few more!

I bought a set of small gift bags with handles last year at IKEA and they came with numbers. I’m sure it was intended to be Advent related. I recall only 12 bags tho. I’ll report back if I see anything similar this year.

I bought a super cute advent kit last year, in Aldi - I think. It had 24 small brown paper bags, number stickers and twine. Every year I see similar kits in Ikea, Lidl, etc. I didn't get round to using it though, but I hope to this year.

I really like the Elle’s studio and her kits are amazing value but I feel like I’ve done the colour scheme before.. I wanted to get some add ons but unfortunately Elle’s shipping is $15 US to Australia even just for some stickers which is $22 just to get them here.

Is it a semi-Advent calendar? ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Ivm7lm0DayrhoRpwvCeH.jpg) For the ignorant/consumerist American's 12 days of Christmas, which start randomly in the middle of December and end on Christmas Eve or Day. Mark your calendars for the all important December 13th/14th, which has no significance at all in any culture or religion! Sigh... And the thing is AE should know better. She is Catholic, so she should know where the 12 days of Christmas and the celebration of Advent fall. Pick one or the other. ETA: those Advent calendars you shared are lovely.

If the stickers will fit in a regular envelope, or even an A5 envelope, one of us could probably send them on to you for many, many dollars less than that, if you were willing to take the risk of not having a lot of padding or tracking & insurance. A regular card envelope up to an ounce is only $1:15 or so, with an extra dollar or so per ounce. I would send them to you.

Saw the Elle kit and its cute but I'm so not into buying Christmas stuff yet. Plus my computer cratered and my extra $$ will be going there for a bit. Honestl Im not too worried about any kits selling out (main ones) because they haven't in the last few years. And really if it does before I'm ready top purchase I'll just deal with it.

Com and SC manage to ship smaller stuff for under $5 US so there has to be a way! I’ll pm you through IG x

I may have missed a reply, but regarding marker (Copic) friendly kraft cardstock, Kristina Werner always used Neenah Desert Storm. I recall it not being quite as dark as cheaper kraft stock.

Yes, I'm fairly certain it is. Just like it's similar to paper SC had a while back that was black with copper/bronze? stars.

Isn’t this the exact same pattern as the 3x8 from last year but on a white background? Yes, I'm fairly certain it is. Just like it's similar to paper SC had a while back that was black with copper/bronze? stars. Found a pic. I think it's the same. ![](https://img.inkedbrands.com/yTH1EBy3q2K7qN2LF-ZMhosHoDc=/fit-in/5288x5288/cdn.aliedwards.com/pictures/images/000/021/840/original/AE_2018_Dec-Daily_Shop_36809_Slider_original.jpg)

Ok everyone. Please encourage me to make the heidi swapp album (at the 3:40 mark)
And discourage me from making the Johanna Clough one. I love her work but I am not sure I want my JYC book to be that chunky. Or that busy.
