Just no. Why are they still shilling rubber embellishments? And why so large?!

I love that white album so much, I am a sucker for stars and I was sad that the green album last year was only a 3x8.
Must make use of these European scrappy/planner sites before the UK crashes out of the EU on Halloween! 😭

Alright, I'll admit it, I love the rubber pieces. USUALLY. I hoard rubber pieces and I would probably love these if they didn't have her handwriting on them.

When I clicked through to Emely's shop it showed shipping to the USA for $3.20. They do look like useful stickers! I can't stand all the laundry, hair appt, hydration stuff either! 90% of that stuff just isn't what I put in my paper planner. And they look like a pretty good size too. Thanks for the tip!

The photos of everything for Ali's DD embellishments is up on her blog. No kits yet, but you can see all the stamps and embellishments!
The colors of the papers she's sneaked aren't my deal, but some of those embellishments and stamp sets... That Rad Tiding stamp is incredibly cute. I could totally see myself and my daughters using it. The Christmas Words stamp is also super clean and lovely.

Still not overly excited this year, but I saw some things in the video that I'll try to grab. Chipboard bundles are both very usable for me, and the stamp sets are great.

12 numbered envelopes? Is it a semi-Advent calendar? ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Ivm7lm0DayrhoRpwvCeH.jpg) For the ignorant/consumerist American's 12 days of Christmas, which start randomly in the middle of December and end on Christmas Eve or Day. Mark your calendars for the all important December 13th/14th, which has no significance at all in any culture or religion! Sigh... And the thing is AE should know better. She is Catholic, so she should know where the 12 days of Christmas and the celebration of Advent fall. Pick one or the other. ETA: those Advent calendars you shared are lovely. Exactly. The 12 days are between Christmas and Epiphany, when the 3 kings arrive. Advent is leading up to Christmas.

The number of products Ali is offering this year is overwhelming to me. I still need to watch the 40 minute walkthrough, which is crazy in itself — 40 minutes of scrapbooking products for 1 project?!?

I understand that they would want to split up the overview based on the sheer number of items, but I think they should have timed the two reveals closer together, as it’s really hard to think about which add-ons are useful without seeing the actual kit contents.

We had some fun discussions about the weird American twist on the 12 days of Christmas in the DD thread last year, with you specifically, joblackford. I truly am a hopeless optimist underneath the eyerolling, black clothes and sarcasm. My mind just went straight to "Oh, half an Advent, I guess..." Can confirm that Catholics (whether practicing or cultural) have no excuse: Epiphany AKA the last day of Christmas is a major celebration. Tsk tsk tsk... ![](https://media.giphy.com/media/3o7TKKLJavDVEg6fKg/giphy.gif)

I do really like the chipboard sets, but I know I won’t like the prices. Some of the other pieces I like are the fabric things and transparency sets, but I know they will all be fabulously overpriced as well, so I imagine once again I won’t be buying anything from Ali.
Those rubber pieces and some of the other oversized pieces are so weird to me when she is pushing the 3x8 album so hard, I don’t like that album size at all anyway, I like photos and I don’t see any reason to make them small enough to fit that size. I want to actually see the stuff and people I am taking pictures of, so that size is just too small for me. I much prefer the 6x8 for a mini album. In any event, I don’t understand these ginormous embellishments with the tiny albums.
I am kind of excited to see the prices though, they never cease to amaze me.

cristelina I think Heidi's Christmas journal this year is a great project. It's a good price point, it's a nice format to have some "proper" scrappy fun, it's got just the right amount of pages, it's not overwhelming. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't add some extra bits to chunk it up a little and have some more texture.

I can't watch this until I have enough time to sit down and give myself the luxury of 40 minutes of "empty" time. I'd rather watch a series episode on Netflix instead, to be honest... But I'll definitely give it a watch this weekend. I need to finish some digital layouts so I'll have this first reveal video playing in the background while I get the finishing touches done. Can't believe it's going to be over 1 hour of product reveal this year. Too much stuff? Too little editing and preparing? I'm overwhelmed and I haven't even hit the play button yet. Anyhoo, my mind is still firmly focused on the Crate Paper line. I can't wait for the first sneaks to drop. Probably only in a month's time. Le capital sigh.

Must make use of these European scrappy/planner sites before the UK crashes out of the EU on Halloween! 😭 I don't want to get political here but my heart aches at what's happening and how the nightmare scenario is unfolding. It's absolutely terrible. Several months ago, I watched a +1h documentary on Franco-German TV channel Arte about the amount of work that was being done behind the scenes in Brussels to save as much of the EU-UK relationship as possible since the referendum. It mostly followed everything that Guy Verhofstadt was doing in the shadows. I can't believe we've steered so far away from all that work, all the behind-the-doors diplomacy, all the efforts that were put into making this as soft a Brexit as possible. Very scary times. Hang in there, Charwee and all the UK Peas. Hugs from the European continent. We feel and share your pain.

I'm amazed at their continued success in AE's product offer. I don't see XXL rubber embellies taking over the rest of the scrap world...

You're right that there's a disconnect between these oversized embellishments she's offering - not just rubber - and the push for the TN-ish 3x8 size. But it does make sense: you fill up the album quicker which leads to the release of endorphins (whereas some people have left DD behind or not made one for several years because they struggled to finish such a big project) and need a new album to purchase quicker. Those 3x8 are expensive when you consider the amount of documenting you can fit in one so they're a great money-maker for Inked and AE.

I’ll ‘watch’ it while I put my data in this afternoon. Which means I’ll mostly listen but be able to look at it while my computer endlessly spins ‘thinking’ ( and spins & spins ) It’s the only way to keep my stress level down with this system because it is truly awful - prehistoric ‘thinking’ time plus it will randomly boot you out so you have to sign in again. ( & again )

I didnt watch, I just scrolled through the pics. I did it 3 times and ended up getting my wish list down to the Christmas phrase sticker sheet which I can do in Photoshop.... The only other maybe is the 3 by 8 transparencies but I hate that they are with the journalling cards. Which probably means they are S15. Unless Liz's kit stuns, I think I can safely avoid spending any $ with Ali. I'm either using my stash or going with CP.

I'm cautiously optimistic for Ali's products. I really like a lot of the cards of the Paislee Press 3x8 (except that horrid gold/brown/yellow color), so I'm hopeful I will like a traditional size kit. And there are enough other embellishments that I won't feel like I have to have the main kit. I love the chipboard sets.

I do like the chipboard. I even like the tags, but those are always pricey for what they are. I also like those damn gold puffy stars.
And if for some reason the plastic envelopes don’t cost an arm and a leg, I may just get them. They would be good for holding this year’s Christmas cards.
I will probably get an album, but I really just don’t know about the kit. I’m not feeling this color scheme with the teal.

There's nothing I have to have. I agree that if the plastic envelopes aren't too expensive, it might be nice to have them. There are some other pieces I like but I know I won't want to spend the $$ that Ali asks for things. I picked up some Elle's puffy stickers and alphas, and will probably pick up something cute from CP and snuggle in with my stash and might even make a few embellishments like back in the day. Looking forward to being more creative, less consumptive.

Part of this week's freebies over at Creative Market, a collection of trendy trees: ![](https://cmkt-image-prd.global.ssl.fastly.net/0.1.0/ps/5513146/600/400/m2/fpnw/wm0/presentation2-04-.png?1544105804&s=ada577e8a6da27348fc4ff469070ebe6) ![](https://cmkt-image-prd.global.ssl.fastly.net/0.1.0/ps/5513147/600/400/m2/fpnw/wm0/presentation2-05-.png?1544105807&s=ac9817c1f2c060855ab4422742366d56) That color scheme reminds me of one of the 2015 DD guest designed kits. Ashley Goldberg's kit?

I haven’t enjoyed the sneaks and thought it didn’t look cohesive. After watching the video, I really like it! I’m ready to change up my color scheme and teal is totally me. I’m excited to see the kits and albums!

I think if I wasn’t a bit tired of Ali’s aesthetic I would be geeking out all over the place with the kit. I like a lot of the stuff but I’m headed in a different direction this year.
The large number stamps remind me of some Tim Holtz?/Stamper Anonymous numbers from a few years back, except squished down.
