Making a road trip this morning to Tuesday Morning to see if there is any Snow and Cocoa or Merry Days left. Not that I really need it but it is a lively fall day for a drive.

Thanks for the support! I was able to snag the Aldi calendars and helped a friend who had a meeting.
This is definitely going into my album.
I got there at 8:15. Around 8:50 they came out and gave us tickets.
They said there is no need to rush. It was funny. We got lots of directions. The beer was sold out before they opened and they only had 2-3 wine left by 9:15.
It was fun. The texts from my friend (from her meeting) were hilarious.

Elle’s studio has some cute acrylic trees with their November release(on the 10th). I thought I was through shopping but I think I’m going to pick up these trees.

OMG y'all. I had a (brillant??) idea this am.
I am doing a 4x6 album for this year. I am happy about that. It isn't *too* big for this year and I should have no problem doing it. I am now sad that I didn't do last years album. I have an album, cover sheet, and some pages prepped. I also have a file on my computer with a list for every day. I have a bunch of photos, but probably not for every day.
My idea:
What if I did both albums, at the same time? I have plenty of supplies. I could technically go ahead and print my photos and type up a bunch of the journaling (I have notes). It would probably end up light on embellishments and fancy-ness but I would rather have something than nothing. A bunch of it would be documenting my dad's cancer diagnose/surgery and my youngest sons last year at home for Christmas since he graduated.
SOOOOOOoooooooo. Stupid? A good idea? A flawed plan? Brilliant?

I wrote a few days ago that I might prep my DD album. I was still very much unconvinced. I only prepped once in 2016 and I didn't like it much then. I like my pages to match my pictures so I ended up not using my pre-made layouts.
I took the plunge when I saw a few albums. Some of them inspired me-- but really I'm afraid I won't have time in December.
This time I only prepped pages I could do ahead of time (advent calendar, movies, etc). In the end, it isn't anything like a just-add-pictures album, but that wasn't my goal. I only wanted to make sure I'd use my favorite supplies and have matching embellies in page protectors.
Today, I even made transparencies and layered tags, plus filler pages with items I know I won't use "as is" .
Anyway, all that to say-- try prepping if you're on the fence, you might like it after all! 😉

This time I only prepped pages I could do ahead of time (advent calendar, movies, etc). In the end, it isn't anything like a just-add-pictures album, but that wasn't my goal. I only wanted to make sure I'd use my favorite supplies and matched them with embellies in a coherent fashion before I slipped all of them in pp. Today, I even made homemade transparency and layered tags, plus filler pages with items I know I won't use as is. Anyway, all that to say-- try prepping if you're on the fence, you might like it after all! 😉 I love that you are making this work for you! I think what you've done is awesome - just enough to help you out with not so much you can't match things later.

mom I think it's a great idea, the most important thing is getting it done, however is best for you. I'm so glad I finished the DD from right before my mom passed, it isn't the prettiest but it is one of my most treasured.

I caved and got the KP December Details Kit. I haven’t opened the package and gone through everything yet, but from what I can see in the clear bag, the colors are amazing. There’s a perfect shade of purple and awesome shade of teal. I hope I like everything in between as much as I like what I can see of it so far.
I was going to use my Christmas Sn@p kit to make a December album but now I’m thinking about either using the KP one or being extra ambitious and attempting to do two albums. The two kits won’t work together in any way, shape, or form, but I like them both. How’s that for a first world problem?

Very cute, Charwee ! Reminds me of the sliding element dies from Lawn Fawn. I think it could be adorable to use with a car die-cut/chipboard piece on a page about driving to go see family during the holidays. You could write down departure and arrival times, all the pitstops, games and music played in the car, snacks eaten, etc. under the interactive moving car element. Yes, sleepingbooty ! That's a great idea! I'm actually driving down to my sister's house the Monday before Christmas day so would be perfect then. Or a die cut of a tree for the age old story of getting one too big and then struggling getting it in the car and up the stairs. Thanks for getting me thinking! I love that pet crimbo line.
blemon Good work with Aldi! I gasped a bit when I saw that queue. I wonder if our Aldis here were like that? Long shot but... are there any international FJ subscribers still waiting for their Noel+Harper shipping confirmation? Yep, I am. According to the website, everything should be shipped by the 12th (!) though. I am being very impatient!

ComplicatedLady go through your kit to be sure it’s all there. Mine was missing the letter press numbers. I contacted customer service and they sent them right out 👍

I was driving to Starbucks as usual before work and go to turn into the driveway which usually has 2-3 cars max at 6:50 AM and the line was backed up in the street blocking traffic (meaning like 15+ cars!). It took me until I was well settled in line to realize... it's red cup day! I got my red [actually green] cup and was late to work as a result.

d the jackpot of Merry Days I am so happy. Woot!! I think this is a GREAT idea. You could always start out working on it and if it doesn't work out, put it aside again. If you keep both simple, you should be able to do it and it will feel so great to get it done. Absolutely loved this: youtu.be/gB-o5bc1coQ I cannot remember this Pea’s profile name, but seriously enjoy her work with last year’s album and her October costume album which I started last year for my family. It's Amy from Paper and Spool. I follow her blog (not sure of her Pea name). I just watched the video as well and wrote down some ideas. Peas, I just don't think I can do foundation pages. It gives me anxiety just thinking about it. BUT I'm going to have more ideas written down this year and remember to take both horizontal and vertical photos. Hey, this should be a challenge: remember to take photos with lots of space! I love having room for embellishments on the photos but sometimes they're too busy. Also, one of my favorite pages is from when we went up to Pittsburgh for a big craft show. I took a picture of my husband and daughter in front of this HUGE window that faced out toward the River so lots of white space. The middle frame of the window made a great line for me to stick Pittsburgh in thickers right across. I want to do more of that!

This is me. I have to look at what I have first, and then figure out the best way to show it off.

Foundation pages are giving me anxiety too. First, I should be investing my time completing last years album. Second, I think I’m moving on and not doing pockets. I’m not in love with them. That being said, I’m going to attempt to make some filler pages. I’m thinking similar to planner dashboards. I see my album as being all punched pages out of page protectors. I would like to prebuild a couple pages to go in between or some pages for known events. These pages probably won’t have pictures. They will just be filler. I would also maybe like to build some embellishment clusters.

FYI, for those who ordered this years Felicity Jane kit...the color go perfectly with Winter Wonderland by Heidi Swapp. Just in case anyone needs more paper of similar color.

I know I'm preaching to the choir...and I'm in the choir but...
Watching YouTube and getting anxious with the amount of product these scrappers have for DD. I mean really...you bought like every pack of stickers and every embellishment and every clearance item and every Target dollar spot tree...stuffing it into baskets, bins, folders and containers and pockets. I mean this stuff is enough to do 85 albums. It's wasteful and plastic and consumerism. I just really get dizzy from all the STUFF...I'm guilty of all of it to an extent and December is the easiest season to buy but I'm surprised how much this bothers me this year!

I like the surprise of seeing which one we end up with on special SB dates in December for the album. The Bearistas are out, too, in case anyone collects those too. I do. The one in the snow bib is my favorite.
