There are several really lovely christmas Dies from Alinacraft in their August release at Ali express. These are direct from designers not direct knock off of other people. youtu.be/MWYvmnUGJyAThe holiday stuff starts around 13:10 but I like the star background plate at 12ish

A lot of FJs Xmas collection from last year is still available and they are having a birthday sale in a day, so that might be an option @millefeuilles kindly sent me some FJ Holly die-cuts and they are super cute. I've hoarded them for this year's December documenting. They are on the thicker side and have a semi-glossy finish though. They would easily blend in with more generic scrap papers that have muted winter colours and My Mind's Eye Winterberry from last year.

OMG I'm so excited. Got my order of Steven Duncan Merry Christmas from scrapbook.com today. I bought all the things🤗...couldn't help myself. It's SO awesome. lol Completely reminds me of my grandparents and parents, when I was a tiny little kid. I love it. Can't wait to use it. I love this collection so much but haven't picked anything up from it yet. The cityscape paper WILL come home to me as Christmas wall décor, that is certain. I might cave for some extra stuff...

I'm also loving the colors and vibe of the Steven Duncan Merry Christmas. (Shockingly - not!) it reminds me of OA Holiday Style, but with even better colors!

The watercolour art AE's using for her DD kit this year is available here. You can buy the set with a personal use license for US$9.50 in case you're interested in recreating/creating some elements for your DD album. Nice find sleepingbooty!

That's good because as an international the FJ schedule is really too late for the current year.

I feel like the sneak is a mixture of a few different kits... Hope so because it does seem like a bit of a mishmash.

Does Elle's Studio do an album as well?

Does Elle's Studio do an album as well? Not normally - but they had acrylic covers for 4*6 and 3*8 (I think) last year. But normal albums like Ali’s.

I wonder if the one in the upper right corner is properly sized to work in those 2x2 pockets, but I have my doubts.

Out of curiosity, is everyone doing the same size DD again this year?
I may do 3x8 because I find that I can’t fill a 6x8 album over the holidays.

I wonder if the one in the upper right corner is properly sized to work in those 2x2 pockets, but I have my doubts. AE/SC page protectors are on the tight side so they might just fit for their 2x2 pockets (likely not for the Simple Stories 2x2). However, they appear to be repeat background stamps so if you have a steady hand and a good eye, you can properly align these to create seamless larger patterns. Out of curiosity, is everyone doing the same size DD again this year? I may do 3x8 because I find that I can’t fill a 6x8 album over the holidays. I didn't do 6x8 last year but I'm returning to it this year to create my first volume of December memories. I'm buying this year's Holiday Sn@p binder from Simple Stories with large rings to hold several years' worth of December documenting (and save on space + stress of filling one per year). Stamps may have potential!

Anyone interested in discussing DD/JYC budget in here? I feel like it's a bit of a sensitive topic but it could be an important one to crack open before all the pre-order/order periods open.
To those who (are trying to) budget: 1. Got a maximum threshold figured out? 2. Do you have a goal amount you'd ideally like to stick to? 3. Do you have any other purchases or savings you want to work towards to keep in mind before you do some scrappy holiday shopping? 4. Do you feel like splurging on scrappy December goodies in the past has had a negative impact on your savings/debt/spending money? 5. Triggers that make you spend and you feel you need to pay attention to before you hit that 'purchase' button? 6. Need an accountability partner when the DD spending games begin? Let us know and we'll check in periodically. 7. Saving for a specific crafty spend that you need to keep in mind before you start spending left and right?

I have no budget. But that’s ok I’m not doing ‘December dsily’ Exactly I’m just going to add holiday & winter flourishes in my journal. So that eliminates the need for a book. Save right there.
I don’t need paper or a kit. Maybe some stamps & ephemera. I was looking at the Hanukkah kit @ pinkfresh studio but it’s sold out. I kept looking & hesitating because I don’t need most of it but the stamps were nice, so it’s just as well that it’s gone.
I’m thinking $20 on consumables & maybe $30 on reusable tools ( dies, stamps or cut files )
But I really don’t know what I’m doing so I could be way off.

This is me and I'm firmly planted: (bear with me) I have finally reached the point that having so much stash is overwhelming. I go in my tiny room to scrapbook and 9 times out of 10 in the past 6 to 8 months, I walk out after 5 minutes of sitting down because I don't even know where to start. Personally, I find it sickening and just stupid to be honest. I'm to the point of having almost zero interest in buying anything for DD. I have also been beyond the point of FOMO for a few years now. (Well...other than the million dollar chipboard 😂 🤣.) I really don't care about the new releases and it makes me sad but I truly think it stems from having so much crap and being sick of having so much crap. I mean scrap. Seriously, I desperately need and quite frankly WANT to use what I have! I have more than enough and plenty after that of a variety of albums I can use. I don't need an album. I did buy 2 of the new Webster Pages Creative Albums but I can use them for more than a DD album. And this is the thing... it will all cycle over again next year and the same things will be out again and again and again. Yes, maybe a new and different album or a couple of new embellishments that are unique but other than that I just feel like everything is a rehash. I am certainly not trying to be a buzzkill but it's where I'm at at this point. One more thing because why not? 😋 The fangirling on FB and IG about this stuff is beyond insane. Maybe 15 years of seeing this stuff has finally become numbing lol. Idk.

I'm not doing a stand alone album, just adding to a 12x12 continuous Christmas album. I already have partially used paper pads. One a 12x12, one a 6x6. I have a cut apart Christmas sheet. I have Stickles to add some sparkle. I have a few sets of Christmas stamps, but I've used them for five years straight, and dare I say I'm a little bored of them. That sounds so bratty though. I plan on looking at Dollar Tree and Target Dollar Spot for Christmas stickers, and maybe alphas. I might splurge on enamel shapes if I find stuff like candy canes, peppermint discs, gingerbread houses, etc.

I have enough in my stash to do DD this year and next but would like an album. Might pick up a few more things as usually I'm working a year ahead to make sure things arrive in time with international shipping. I have a regular monthly amount for hobbies so would just use some of that for DD since I wouldn't be doing too much other crafting. So I'm mentally allocating about NZD$50-100.

I don’t feel like I spend too much for DD, but it’s more than I would prefer to spend for the value I’m getting.
I do feel like I pick up too many supplies I don’t use every year but I also feel like I don’t have enough embellishments that are useful.

nicolep I find all my stuff overwhelming at times also. Every year when I make cards for the pea card swap I limit my supplies/make a kit and work at my dining room table. I find I’m more productive when I have less choice. I also use sketches to give me a starting point. I don’t always follow a sketch exactly, but it gets me beyond the fear of the blank paper. I also have to start with a clean slate. No project can start if l’m not starting with a tidy space. I’m an out of sight out of mind person, but I think hidden storage and making a project kit is the way I’m going to go in the future. That way I have everything I need without being tempted by other stuff. Plus, I want to start forcing myself to use unused product. If it’s in the kit I’ll have to use it.

Personally, I find it sickening and just stupid to be honest.I know exactly what you mean. I have a small scraproom and try as I might to organise it, its overflowing and I've had the exact same experience. I sit down and I get overwhelmed, where to just start and what size of page to do, that I just end up leaving.....I made myself sit down this weekend and do a PL spread. Before I started I limited my supplies to a few KP kits and pulled out around 10 different stamps that could fit (stamps are my weakness) and ended up using 2 stamp sets.....I was happy that I got the spread done but I'm mad that I keep going down this rabbit hole of buying yet another kit and yet another stamp set. For instance KP - she has a new LLP back to school kit coming out....now I bought LLPs back to school kit earlier this year in a sale, and I still haven't used it...so every part of me is screaming, do not buy this new kit coming out..... And I think about certain people (ahem Ali) that tell us to get our stories told and it doesn't have to be complicated and you don't have to use a lot of product and I think WELL THEN OK - how about you stop putting out a gazillion kits/products. She's like a drug counselor telling you not to do it at the same time as slipping you a packet......and so I think I am stupid and gullible one. So yeah right now, not feeling DD at all.

Thanks for getting me to think about this stuff. 1. I try and keep a monthly budget of around $100 for art stuff (this includes printer ink which is such a buzz kill but gotta have it). Lately, I've been way over spending on makeup/skin care so I feel like that's taking all my fun $$$ right now. I didn't make a budget DD last year and when I added it up, I was around $150 for a project I still haven't finished, and as of right now, I don't really love. 2. For this year, I think I'll try and be closer to the $100 mark including the album. 3. Nah, since I have it already in my budget, it's just part of my spending. 4. Yes, I way over spent last year. So this year I want to pay attention. 5. Puffy stickers. 6. Love that idea! 7. I want to buy a new iPad if photoshop ever releases for the iPad.
