I ran into Joanns today to get some fabric and saw the display for DCWV pads that sleepingbooty loved so much. They also had the Pink Paislee collection (in a pad) that has the blue in it, and the Pebbles Merry Little Christmas pad. All $5.99. I think there's a coupon for an extra 20% off too.. Sure, tag me when discussing extremely interesting US deals on paper stacks I like... You cruel saDDist! They are sold 22€ (US$24.30) each here, no coupons or magic codes available. Well then, if I ever do find someway to book my European scrap store tour, I guess I should pack a suitcase of goodies to bring there. Which is great because that will ensure I have enough room to bring stuff home! Haha

cristelina, always up to seeing your favorite pages. The kid and I have been playing around. I'm working on what will be day 3 -- a pocket with 3 tags in it (one for each of us). And I will document our advent calendars on it. Got the idea from Sheree. One year (last year or the year before) I did a similar page and I used Ali's template and we filled out information on the back. I really love it. Plus we are going advent calendar crazy over here (thanks to Aldi) so it will be fun to have it all in one place. She is wanting to do a 12 days of xmas page so she set up that for day 12.

But I might sign up for ALP's list project, What is this project you speak of? I misspoke - it's not actually an Awesome Ladies Project project, but ALP's rukristin had mentioned doing it in December. It's basically a listing prompt project - something easy to join in with or do your own version of (your own lists that suit your life/Christmas experience). I'm sure there are tons of examples to see if you click this linky www.instagram.com/30daysoflists/ or here www.instagram.com/explore/tags/30lists/30daysoflists.com/about/

Folks not seeing the DCWV pads at Joann's, note that they are on an end cap, not actually with the other scrapbook/paper supplies. In my store they were an aisle or two ahead of the paper aisles, across from some seasonal aisles, but I think they might have actually been on the end of the jewelry aisles. I'm not sure how consistent they are store to store but the person who mentioned here when they'd go up (who sounded like an insider) specifically mentioned they would be on an end cap, so that's the only reason I spotted them.

The Paislee Press kits are quite nice! I'm so relieved that they don't have any of those weird split words this year. Not even on the 3x8 falalalala card, where it actually wouldn't be a bad thing to do! Yes, I agree loving the Paislee kits.

They sure didn't sell out, that's certain. Looks like HSN isn't the kind to keep things in stock for a long time. I definitely think we've reached peak AE and it's down from here. Not necessarily big time but enough that Inked can't keep relying on her brand for growth. They need to nurture and manage now rather than think that Ali can carry them even further. The amount of people currently mentioning they're unsubbing from SBTM and/or the Story kit is showing the limit of the monthly subscription model even in this "document the everyday all year long" type of craft. I agree, I think Ali fatigue may be setting in. She seems to me to be having more sales and I don’t think anything has sold out for awhile, has it? I caved and ordered the stamps from HSN. With free ship it came out to $7.25 per stamp and I don't own any of the three. I may order the gray DD if it goes cheaper... just don't need more DD stuff right now. I think Ali has increased her order numbers so she won't have Sold Out items anymore. She seemed to get a lot of backlash when items sold out. I typically love all her stuff but "fatigue" has set in because everything seems so similar and same-sy (a word?). I am hoping her new design team will create more excitement and ideas for her products.

Sahlin Studio's offering this new set of 31 cards to document December on the Lilypad at 30% off until tonight. Perfect for those with a photo-heavy style and the horizontal 4x6 album folks like mom this year.

Got my FJ order on Friday and everything looks great! Favorite pieces are probably the puffy stickers and the dividers! It does match beautifully with Heidi's winter line so I'm happy about that! I decided to use one of the albums that I have around here, MME 6x8 one that has a brown cloth spine. I was inspired by mom and painted it charcoal grey to match the papers. I'm thinking its going to work really well even though it only has 2 rings they line up nicely with the FJ dividers and the extra AE pop that I have extras of.

I was pleasantly surprised that DHL were delivering on a Sunday (almost nothing happens on Sunday here). The whites are a lot creamier than I had expected. But I don't mind. I love how much thought and detail has gone into the kit. Lots of gorgeous things. I also though it coordinates really well with the CP Snowflake collection, though I won't be using a lot of that collection for my hot hot hot Aussie December.
I also love the album. It seems almost luxurious. I just wish it had a book plate. Does anyone know where I could buy some gold bookplates to try to attach one myself?

Office Supply Stores - I found some at my Office Max. The ones I have are Martha Stewart brand but I am sure there are other brands too.

My creativity has once again gone to tags. Way too many to use in my planner. Not sure what I’m going to do with them all. I should probably work on cards but I haven’t. Gone tag crazy by d steck, on Flickr

Ok everyone, very important question here. Do I display my JYC book from last year? Last holiday season was horrible. My son's girlfriend broke up with him the day after Thanksgiving which has been a craft day for our family for the 5 years she was part of the family. Then, my stupid husband had an emotional affair with the mousy singer in his band who is the same age as my older son! Nothing physical, but it made him giddy like a middle schooler. And to top it all off, my dear friend's husband got lymphoma and spent all the holidays in the hospital. My JYC has all of this. I am pretty snarky, so it is not a "boohoo, look how sad I am" journaling. More of a "If I could I would stab you and her and all the other jerks in my life" vibe. But I really love how it looks. And it also has fun things too. Go figure that the crappiest Christmas since my first husband died has my favorite JYC book. Anyhow, would you display it? My husband says he would be fine with people seeing it. And an update if you are interested: David (my husband and I) went to therapy and are fine now. He promised to make up for it this Christmas season. My son moved in with us because he found a job he really likes for half the salary, so he is saving up to be able to move out. My dear friend's husband passed away on January 5th. I spent the first 4 nights of the new year sleeping at the hospital. Hardest thing I've done since my own husband passed away. Sorry for the long winded story. If you would like, I could post some of my favorite angry pages here. I'd leave it out (and maybe in a basket) just so DH would see it. Nothing like a reminder of pain he caused. But I am petty like that, so maybe don't take my advice?

I have been looking at new cars, they all have spares. Which cars don’t come with spares? That is just weird. I drive a BMW that has what are called 'run flat tyres' which means that I can travel at a reduced speed for 50 or so kilometres to get to a repairer. Hence no spare.

Help please! Where can I find a JOY cut file like the one Amy Gretchen used here. She said it was from AE Joy kit, which I have. But there is no file in the classrooms, so it might be the stamp kit? There has to be something out there like this? I love the Paislee Press release. One of these years I might just do all digital and print everything myself. This weekend I got together with friends to work on our December Daily albums. I'm not typically a prep ahead person, but I did make my cover page, sewed a pocket page and did a hexagon page with the fuse. It turned out pretty darn cool. Also, one of the friends had along the HSN Ali kit, it's really very cute. I might order it just for the backup album since my star one is broken.

Well, so I just got a "new" Christmas kit. I was looking for something in my craft room yesterday when I came across this red bag. Hmm...Wonder what that is? Imagine my surprise when I discovered and old, unopened Gossamer Blue TN Christmas kit! I really miss this kit club. I still have a full kit and parts of a second one I bought. It was one of my FAVORITE kits. Loved GB in general though!

Yall. I am watching 2019 DD prep videos as I keep working on last years album....I cannot believe some of the piles of stuff people have pulled out. Don't get me wrong. I pulled a bunch too. But literally stacks and stacks and stacks of stuff. I would be so overwhelmed (hell, I want to hyperventilate just seeing it all and its not mine!). They literally have pulled out more product than I own. I know, I know...as long as they are using the stuff then good for them. And that is what makes them happy, then yay. But I seriously have to click out of the video because of all the stuff. Now that that is out of my system....I am on day 20 of last year. YAY. I have come to realize that I am literally just telling the story + adding photos. Very little embellishment at all (which is fine). I hope I don't regret not spending more time on getting this album done. Surely I won't, right? Just get it done and move on. My goal is to be done, completely, by Wednesday. Totally doable. Then I will go through my stuff and get it organzied again and get ready for December 1.

I'm having a busy few days right now but I needed to hop in here to post: 1. A beautiful font duo freebie at Creative Market that's festive and elegant. Definitely interesting for December albums and holiday cards! 2. Klaus, the new animated Christmas movie from Netflix. We chilled in front of this and absolutely loved it. It's a quirky take on the Santa Claus myth with some drama. Visually stunning as well. 100% recommended, no matter your age. 3. I bought something DD-y this weekend! I got the Simple Stories Country Christmas holiday binder. I've been crushing on it since we first saw it revealed in the summer and I'd given myself enough time to really think the purchase through. I likely won't use this year but it was a very carefully thought out addition to my stash and I'm thrilled with the buy. Can't wait for it to be delivered later this week! 4. Another Creative Market weekly freebie: vintage starburst vectors!

Here is my JYC book for 2019. I really love the cover. And it makes noise when you move the book So pretty! Beautiful work. Did you get inspired by Heidi's spiral album cover video that was posted by scrapbook.com? I love the vintage touches you added. Yall. But literally stacks and stacks and stacks of stuff. I would be so overwhelmed (hell, I want to hyperventilate just seeing it all and its not mine!). It's not just me, then? I feel like the DD piles in this year's videos are huge. It would be too much for me to handle but it doesn't even bring much to the video format: just a lot of stuff that we, as viewers, lose count of and feel overwhelmed by. Very odd. I wonder if this just reflects the fact that a lot of DD-ers are reaching a point of too much unused stuff? Imagine my surprise when I discovered and old, unopened Gossamer Blue TN Christmas kit! What a lovely mystery find! GB is missed. hop2 Love your stamp and tag work! So, so festive.

I also love the album. It seems almost luxurious. I just wish it had a book plate. Does anyone know where I could buy some gold bookplates to try to attach one myself? This has been the bane of my existence (not really but it annoys me to no end). I could not find bookplates anywhere, online or in person. I ended up being inspired by what Sheree Forcier does with hers. I went on eBay and found a 2018 charm and will put it on some cute string with a couple of other embellishments and go with it. I put stickers on the spine but nothing sticks to vinyl so the 1 is already lost. I will look for images of what she did and edit this post if I can find them.
Update:
You can see the star in the preview image of 2018.

When you have a free minute here or there while working on 2019, go through 2018 and see if something seems empty and add some glam if you're in the mood. Sometimes I really like a clean look though. cristelina - LOVE!!!!! I love these. What would you do with these? I considered downloading but wasn't sure what I would use them for.

I agree - I think people have piles + piles and feel obligated to pull it out each year, even if they aren't excited about it. Sure, sometimes you can't just re-start buying things each year when your style changes. But man. One lady pulled out no less than 7 Christmas collections with paper and embellishments (most were from this year), and Ali kit and a CD kit. I get piecing a kit together you love but there was enough stuff for 5 years worth of DD albums. It almost made me sad. Maybe because I have really curbed my spending and only purchase things that I want to use? I felt sad for some of the paper pads she pulled out - they were literally just tossed to the side when she moved on to another pad. Maybe I am over thinking this, lol.
